I can't say enough good things about Down South Motors! John and Tye are not just great owners; they're automotive wizards with years of experience. Make sure you pay attention to the details! Went with my daughter to buy a car they had. Didn t try to negotiate the price that they had both posted on their website and on the car itself, even though it wasn t a very good deal, because she really liked the car. The numbers weren t adding up and I was clearly confused. They did a lot of talking in circles and avoiding details. I finally called and asked to see the paperwork so I could make sense of the payment they were coming up with. That s when they asked what number I was using. I said $11,500 because that s what s on the car. Oh no, he says. That s the cash price. I asked what the non cash price was and he says $17,000! I ve talked with multiple other car dealers since and it s not a common thing to do so it s definitely not just because they are a sub-prime lender . Also, there were a few lights on the dash. I mentioned having our mechanic come take a look first and their suggestion was to buy the car with the warranty and have their mechanic use the warranty to fix the car and when I questioned what about the warranty deductible they said they would split it. Gross. These people are definitely there to take advantage of people with few options or little knowledge. Luckily we were neither desperate nor naive like they expected. Shady, scammy, scuzzy vibes all the way around.

Very disappointed. Was recommended by our mechanic (not after this though). Looked at a honda accord and was exactly what I was looking for. Went in to talk interest rates and such, they were avoiding questions and trying to say my credit score doesn't matter when buying a car ( I had a good score for my age being a 700). Treated me like I was dumb and had no idea what I was talking about because it would have been my first time financing. Went home to do the math on my own because they were avoiding questions and I got sketched out. The math wasn't adding up so I called them to confirm the info and turns out they were trying to add an additional $6k to the price of the car for a financing fee without disclosing it.Like I said very disappointed. I would have bought the car that day if they weren t obviously trying to rob me.

First of January 2023. Ty and John were great. Very good experience. Friendly, professional, and helpful. Extremely good deal on the car. I will definitely be back when my granddaughter is old enough to get her car.Fast forward to end of Januray 2023. Changed my review to 4 stars instead of 5. Had an issue with the car which happens when you buy used. Once they got it to their mechanic I had it back the same day. However, when I got a flat and went to change it the spare was also flat. I was told it would be replaced and then told they couldn't do that. I just needed to air it up and if need be patch or replace it. That is why just 4 stars. Check back for long term experience.Hi again, here we are 6 months later. Car has been pretty good. Good mileage, good suspension. Had one problem with an oil leak. Called and was put in touch with the mechanic who does the warranty work. He came to my job and repaired it in the parking lot. I have to say I was very happy with the whole process. . Would still definitely recommend Down South for the long term. Back to 5 stars

I went with a neighbor here a couple of weeks ago and I was really impressed. The selection wasn't vast but the quality of the offerings made up for it. I will definitely keep this lot in mind when I begin my search for a used vehicle.

Down South Motors has truly been a blessing to our family we where looking for something that could build our Credit Something reliable in affordable and we got Exactly what we were looking for, everyone was so nice in Professional and I recommend anyone get your car,truck or what ever you need from Down South Motors!!
