I was traveling from the panhandle of Oklahoma to the middle of Tennessee to take my son back to school when his pickup broke down on the interstate outside of Ft. Smith. It was such a stressful situation being so far from home and not knowing anyone, with the drive line, rear differential and transfer case all needing to be replaced. The tow company called by our roadside assistance took the truck to one mechanic who kept it for six weeks without working on it or even giving us an estimate or timeline for repair. After being fed up and stressed out with the previous mechanic, I began looking for recommendations on Facebook. Downtown Automotive was suggested to us in a Ft. Smith marketplace group. I called Downtown Automotive and got an estimate from Heath within ten minutes of calling. Talking to them, I felt a huge sense of relief after dealing with the previous mechanic. Heath and David were courteous, patient and professional each time we spoke. They towed the truck to their shop the first afternoon I called them. Once they ordered the parts, they had my son's truck up and running within a week.I cannot express the relief and gratitude I have for these gentlemen at Downtown Automotive. I appreciate their patience with me and how they communicated and kept me updated throughout the entire process. I feel they were fair and upfront in relation to costs of parts and labor. I would absolutely recommend Downtown Automotive, and would gladly use their services again, if needed.Service: Transmission

So my car was in good working condition with no issues. I took my car in to have regular maintenance: the brake system flushed, my oil changed, my radiator flushed, and also my transmission flushed. I was called at the end of day on Tuesday and tell that my car was ready to go. I was asked when I was picking up my car if I had brake issues? My answer was no. I was told that the mechanic that drove my car experienced a brake pedal fall and they told me just to just drive it to see if there was an issue, and there was. I simply drove around the block and wondered if my car was going to stop or not. Wednesday they called me and told me my car was ready, Thursday they called and told me my car was ready, Friday they called me and told me my car was ready but it wasn't. The brakes still did not work and I had to take my car somewhere else to have the master cylinder replaced because of something I believe that they did to my car but didn't tell me. I questioned if my radiator was flush I questioned if my oil was changed, they didn't even put an oil change sticker in my window to indicate when I needed to have my oil changed again. Where my tires rotated? I don't know. Did they put a bottle of 44K that I supplied in my gas tank I don't know. I'm not sure of any of the work that they did other than to my brakes. Causing additional repair out of pocket expense to me. I had to have a new master cylinder? Why? What did you do to mine? Why did I have to pay for a new one? I have taken my car here before for service but I will never take my car here again. I can't believe they returned my car to me and worse condition than I took it to them. This is the best place in town for your automotive needs. You will be impressed by the very professional staff, they are fair, and very proficient in what they do. They are friendly, and fun at the same time. They do not do as some places and tell you , you need unnecessary work. They will work hard to get your car fixed and back on the road as fast as possible with great prices. The staff is very professional. The owners are amazing which makes for a very satisfying experience. I recommend this place to everyone that needs any work on their cars. This is the only place that I will take any vehicles to be worked on. One of the owners Heath has been working in the car business since he was a teenager. He has grown to be one of the best mechanics in this area. Craig also is a great mechanic they both work hard and make sure to figure out the problem and get it fixed as fast as possible. If you need anything from oil change to new motor and everything in between this is the place you need to go.

I will never go anywhere else got the same tires here for $500 and RNR quoted over $1200 they also did an alignment replaced 2 struts and another busted part on my front end in less than 3 hrs and way cheaper than I was quoted elsewhere so if you need tires or work done you better go see David and the guys here!

I made an appointment for my wife to get an oil change on her suv. She showed up for her time and they had no record of it. After being extremely rude they tale the car back to service it without telling her they were. She asked to get our kid's bags out and they were rude about letting her get their stuff. While it was being serviced the fob got broken. The vehicle is 9 years old, so it's not mint, but we take care of our things. They said it was already wore out so they could give her a price for a new one. They tried to hold the car and force her to get new tires. She had an appointment at another location for tires, so they "decided" to allow her to leave. I checked the oil after they released it and there was oil spilled all over the engine, greasy foot prints inside that I just detailed. Completely unprofessional and rude. I won't be back.

Took my daughters vehicle and they fixed it up in good time frame. Runs smooth now. The guys were nice and respectable.

My intake manifold went out as I was passing through. I couldn't find anyone else who could take care of my truck on a short notice. David took me in right away and had it done in 4 hours less time than he originally estimated. My truck is running much better now. Thank you for taking care of my truck on such short notice.

I dropped my car of for a routine oil change and tune-up. They told me it would be ready in a couple of hours. About three-to-four hours pass and I call because I notice they're about to close. They said they forgot to do the oil change. I went to pick it up and they didn't do the tune up either. They asked if I wanted to bring it in Monday morning without so much as an attempt at making it right for my lost time.

I have had Downtown Auto work on my car twice now and both times they did a great job. they were honest and gave me a fair price on the work they did. they replaced a ball joint and they also replaced my AC compressor and had it done both times the same day.

Have been taking them my various cars over the years. Won't let anyone else touch my car. They keep to their estimate and won't gouge you. Fair prices and fast work, they also back up their work. Honest guys. I tell everyone who needs work to come see these guys!!!

These guys are beyond knowledgeable when it comes to repairing vehicles. They will get you in and out quickly. They have repaired my cars with any issues and do it right. So glad I was referred to them by a friend.

Fabulous communication with issues a rose with my car, helped me fix a problem that was a prior mechanics issue. We're very kind and courteous and patient with explaining things to me. Gave good prices as well

Downtown Automotive has serviced and continues to service our company vehicles. They're knowledgeable, fast and provide fair priced services. The City.of Fort Smith uses Downtown Automotive for some of their fleet maintenance needs, specifically the Fort Smith PD.

I visited fort smith few weeks ago.Had car troubles,was reffered to downtown auto.Talk to Craig an Heath. took my car in that morning and had it repaired by 1 oclock.And cost of repairs and estament was 130 dollers less other shops.800 miles back home car still runs good.Thank you guys.

I'm pretty sure they do NOT care what the customer thinks. When I questioned why my total was more than quoted, he had no idea why.. but was the person that initially quoted me. Go somewhere else.

This place is not honest. Has my car checked after it was worked on there by another shop. They cut corners on there repair and charged me. Not a righteous shop
