Three months ago I took my car in for brake repair (they were grinding on the back) and a window motor (the cable had snapped). Without asking or telling me the diagnosis, they took the inside of my car door off, breaking part of it, and fixed" the motor and cable. When I got it back, the motor was extremely loud and just broke again two days ago. These mechanics do not know when to admit that they don't know what they are doing. Additionally, they told me there was nothing wrong with my brakes and did not look any further to find the issue. (I took my car to Meineke in Springdale and they found the issue in one day).Walker's may be good for specific repairs, but they are not thorough or quality when it comes to detailed work. I paid $180 only to have the cable and motor break again three months later.

They was very friendly and nice! Was able to work my son's only running car in and got it running for him in only a few days of them being very busy right before the holidays when some of there works was already gone for the holidays. I thank them very much!!!

About a year ago, my car transmission had severe issues. Looking for a second opinion, I found Walker's. Long story short: I got my transmission fixed, not before going back and forth about 8 times on a 6 months period, and after expending about 2k more than the original amount (maybe more considering the times I needed to borrow or rent a car, the time wasted not even considered). Good guys, no doubt, but really incompetent. It was such a bad experience that I can't recommend this place to anyone.

Great people. It took about 12 weeks to get our transmission replaced. But every place we called told us it would be that long. Every mechanic we talked to who does not do transmissions told us Walker's is the best. Our van drives like new and the price was very competitive.

These guys will take your money and not fix the problem. I came to them with a service engine soon light and I was told nothing was wrong with my car and they reset the light and said it wouldn t turn back on again. Well it turned back on within a week and for that to happen something has to be wrong or it wouldn t have turned back on. I called to ask about it and was hung up on 3 times and then had to call with a different number because they stopped answering my calls when I was calling for help. When they finally answered the new number I called off of the help they gave me was to disconnect my battery for an hour then hook it back up these people will lie and take your money and not help you at all.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I would never recommend this place! They replaced a transmission in our diesel truck and did an oil change. They did not properly reinstall the starter and we have since had to spend $550 to replace the starter. I explained to them immediately once I picked up my truck that the starter was not working properly. The transmission slips and doesn't work properly I have taken it back twice with no resolution. They put way too much oil and and I have four oil leaks and have to replace gaskets. I have called back and spoke with John and Larry several times they have the worst customer service and they don't stand behind their work!! After spending $3,500 on a new transmission I have to take it and buy another transmission somewhere else. They are not experienced with diesels at all! Whereas a $3,500 transmission repair will in the end cost me almost $10,000! If you need transmission work I would go to A1 transmission they know what they're doing!!

We took our Chev Silverado in for multiple check engine codes. John fixed repair quickly. Redid some mistakes another mechanic had done. Charged a reasonable amount and fixed truck that had been in another shop and had multiple repairs for over 6 weeks. Walkers fixed it and charged reasonable! Will use them again and highly recommend themService: Auto engine diagnostic

Unprofessional, they won't speak with me about issues arising from repairs done there... Added post: Two months later & things are worse. I cannot recommend this shop at all. I finally got with someone about issues they caused while doing the initial repair, only because a family member of mine had connections. I had to take my vehicle back there 3 times for issues they caused & each time things either didn't get better or barely did, & in the end my vehicle still came out of the whole mess with issues it didn't even have when I took it in there. Now I'm just stuck with it that way. On top of this, something was stolen out of my vehicle while it was there the 3rd time. I absolutely do not recommend this shop at all.

My jeep sat in their lot for almost 3 weeks. Each week I got told that it would be done by the end of the week... Finally got it towed to a different mechanic who got it done 3 days later... If you need your vehicle done in a timely manner, run far far away.

John Dossett runs the best auto repair shop I've ever used. Through the years I have been in numerous times with various issues which he checked out and never charged for. When I have had work done, the cost was completely reasonable. Once I asked hum about replacing my timing belt. Most mechanics would have said OK and after a few days in the shop I would have gotten a bill for hundreds of dollars. John taught me that this was no longer necessary for my model Toyota since I had a timing CHAIN that did not need replacement. He lost a sale and gained a life-time customer. He also referred me to Lightning Lube for oil changes. He could have done it himself but said to go there. Smart because they cross-market each other's business and, thus, each focuses on what they do best. Exceptional.

I have never been so happy with this company! We had trouble with both of our cars and at the same time. They were quick, incredibly kind and so helpful. To top it all off they charged us 70% LOWER than what a dealership was quoting us. I will recommend this place to everyone out there in need!

I obtained a 2002 Hyundai with just over 80K miles which had largely sat the last 3-4 years and with no highway travel in several years. A few months ago a transmission torque converter code appeared. I ignored for a while with no symptoms and then shifting issues slowly began to manifest. Primarily shifting roughly between 30-40 MPH and at times sticking before shifting up. I took it to a different shop and they told me to replace the entire transmission with a used or reman transmission, $1,800-$2,700.A few weeks later it also began to overheat.I took it to Walker Auto Service in Johnson. They looked at it and told me the head gasket was leaking some which was likely the reason for the overheating and the overheating might have been causing the torque converter code/transmission issue. They recommended some heavy duty sealant be added to the coolant system and attempt to resolve the head gasket leak without a major head gasket repair. They did that and replaced the cheap thermostat. Since that repair, the car isn't overheating anymore and the head gasket leak is seemingly stopped (at least for now) and the transmission is performing fine without the issue. So for now, $200 vs. $2-3,000 for a shop with a little more diligence or experience. Thumbs up for Walker Auto Service.

I took my 2005 ford freestar to Walker's . I had a used transmission put in and got the warranty7 months after they "fixed" it it's now having the same exact problemI called and they said they'd fix it ...that they dont leave their customers hanging .My odometer read 78k miles when I brought it the first time in has 91k now ...they wouldnt fix it , told me it wasnt covered , and told me to just "drive it easy"I dropped over $2000 7 months ago for it to be fixed and that was their reply . DRIVE IT EASY!?Definitely wont be using them again. I now have to take my van to another shop or buy a new van with all my imaginary money I makeThanks walkers !Service: Transmission

Could have charged me for a whole new engine, but worked with the dealership and I got a brand new engine the month I paid it off- courtesy of GM. The most honest and amazing business! They even weighed in on what we bought next.

We'll always go to Walker's. Have been for 15 years or more.We got a quote (2 ignition coils & plugs) for $540 at another shop, just to satisfy curiosity. Called Walker's, they quoted $300.Dropped it off at 8:00 behind several other cars and it was finished by 1:00, for $215. He said it only needed one coil/plug!Very competent, friendly, quick, reasonable. I cant say enough good things about Walker's.

If you need great work done for a reasonable price, this is your shop! I m a motorhead and it s discouraging when you go to a shop and it s obvious that theyre not so much...NOT THE CASE here. These are good, honest, real car guys. My son lives local and I m in the LR area. When the transmission went on his old truck, it wasn t cost efficient for me to drag his truck over 100 miles for me to replace the transmission. John and the guys at Walker promised me they d take care of my boy and came thru with flying colors! Highly recommend this shop!

Worst place to take a vehicle for repairs. They take advantage of women and I don't think they repair what they say they do. I've had to take my truck back for the same thing several times

Dropped off my truck on a Sunday, got a call on Monday. Then 4 days later another call it was done. No major feat except that it was New Year's week. Larry and the gang are amazing

Great customer service, my car wouldn't start, I had it towed to them, it started fine. They didn't charge me a dime, even after spending time attempting to find the root cause. Not even a base diagnostic fee.
