Dropped my car off on Monday, and by Wednesday, they called me with full details of the problem and a more than reasonable price. I was back on the road that same day! Very friendly, professional, and prompt! Will be using their services again!

My son attends college at U of A and had the front ball joint break on his Honda. Since he is not from Arkansas we had no idea where to find a honest and reliable shop. After some searching we found Richard Mayes and couldn't be happier. They were upfront there would be a wait due to how busy they were. The service we received was excellent with great communication and only recommendations minus the pressure or dishonesty you might find elsewhere . Outstanding service! First time customer and when I needed someone Ryan was there with all details to what was wrong with my 20 year old vehicle. Service is exceptionally fast here as well. I expected a longer wait time but everything was done in a timely manner. Great communication! Plus they made my vehicle drive better than it was before I bought it. Happy to be back on the road and will be doing business with them again in the future! Thanks!

Mayes Automotive always does an excellent job of fixing our cars in such a timely manner. No one likes to be without their car for long, and Mayes understands that. I dropped my car off on a Thursday night with a note about 3 things on my son's car that needed repaired, including a brake issue. They had my car completed the by the following Monday with all 3 issues repaired. Very friendly staff and they always call me to tell me what the car needs and get my ok before repairing. The night drop box makes it easy to drop off your car anytime after hours and weekends. It s hard when my kids car is having trouble and I live two states away. I researched places to take it. Richard Mays kept coming up as one of the best. And I completely agree. They provided excellent service and even better communications. The car is back on the road and running better than ever. WOW!!! This place is absolutely phenomenal. I've brought three separate vehicles here for all kinds of repair work - water pump replacement, clutch replacement, starter replacement, and oil pressure sensor check.These folks are legit and they're incredibly fast! The turn around on my vehicles has always amazed me and I'm usually getting a call to let me know things are complete well before the date I was initially given.The pricing here is very fair and ALL pricing is discussed upfront BEFORE repairs begin. These folks do not cheat you on pricing and they don't do unnecessary repairs to try and wrack up a bill.The staff is incredibly friendly and easy to communicate with. I've had the privilege of meeting many of the staff members as well as the family that owns the business and I can truly say they are honest, hard-working, decent people. I've worked on my own vehicles for years and after having a few conversations with these guys its clear to me they know what they're talking about - and they'll clarify anything you're confused about without being condescending.You can be sure that I will be bringing vehicles back here in the near future for whatever repair needs I may have. If you live in the mostly student-housed apartments nearby I would seriously recommend going to these folks first before you take your vehicle across town.Could not recommend these guys more.

I can't provide a review on the car work for my most recent trip to Richard Mayes, as my car was beyond repair. However, instead of finding every fee and charge they could stick me with, Richard Mayes took care of the inspection and storage of my car until it could be towed off their lot. The gentleman Ryan, whom most of my interactions were with, was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, honest. This is a shop where you can trust them to do the very best work, and to be upfront with you every step of the way. They understand that taking care of a customer the right way creates a loyal customer for life, and I would recommend them to anyone.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Clearly a shady and money-grubbing operation. Sour staff and very unprofessional. Called to simply have a belt replaced. Guy on the phone gave some lame excuse about not being able to give me a phone quote but then said they were all eating lunch. They would call me back at 2:30. At 3:40 I called them and they remembered me immediately and gave a quote. I brought the car in and the guy clearly did not want to help me but at my insistence he let me drop my car off for repair. I get a call later that the $97, one belt replacement has turned into a 3 belt replacement for $225. I need the car for work so I decide to pay it and be done with it. Then, when paying I am told they charge 4% for card transactions. Who knows what other hidden fees I payed. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I have a chevy malibu 2008 and my gas gauge wasn't working. So they replaced a fuel pomp module. They charged me $450 just for this part. When I look over on website to see how kuch cost was not even over $250. The total was $805 (including labor). I will never get back to tjis place again and don't recomend it to anyone.

I took my car for an oil pan change and ask to look into other problems( an oil leak and exhaust problem). They just fix the oil pan and told me the car was fine. Turns out the leaking was a serious problem. They overcharge to do the bare minimum.

Ryan went above and beyond on my son's F-150. Before commencing work to fix the brakes, he checked Ford for a recall item that involved the parts we needed and secured the fix at a local Ford dealer. I was essentially only out for a token charge for their administration of the repair. UNBELIEVEABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thank you again Ryan!Service: Brakes

My daughter s Honda Civic had an almost $900 brake job here at this shop. About two weeks later, she rear ended someone as her brakes failed at a stop light. It was towed back, they charged for the tow, and charged $500 for a master cylinder. Now, a couple of months later, I am sitting at Midas as the brake fluid has leaked from the left front brake and the brakes took out again; not a drop of fluid. Could have been dangerous driving back and forth to Fayetteville. We ll see how this is resolved.Service: Brakes

I've had my cars (a Hyundai Accent and Subaru Impreza) serviced with Richard Mayes for 3 years now. They've always treated me with utmost respect and have effectively and affordably helped me maintain my vehicles. I've found their prices very reasonable or at least competitive.They saved me from buying a car with a bad transmission at one time, as well. I'd brought a new car in for an analysis and they found an oil leak in a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) that would have cost me around 7 thousand dollars in a couple years. Further, they didn't even charge me for the service even though their service technicians had spent over 30 minutes looking it over.I have nothing but good experiences working with them. Fantastic local business, excellent service techs., and fair prices. I'd recommend this garage to anyone.

My long time mechanic sold his business and retired. i have been to a couple of other shops and wasn't really happy with them. A friend recommended this shop. Not only did they get my work done quickly, they didn't try to sell me work I didn't need and they did the work for more than $100 dollars less than the estimate they gave me. The staff was highly professional, as well. This shop will get all of my work in the future

Best service I ve gotten in Fayetteville. Fixed my car fast, and was very helpful the whole time. Called back the next day just to make sure it was running okay.He knows his stuff.

I took my car here less than a month ago to have 2 brake cables replaced which cost me 200 and a few days ago the brakes stopped working again so i took it to a different shop and they said whoever worked on it at richardmayes left something from the master cylinder unconnected and also got a ton of air in the brake lines. so now i m paying another 200 to have something they did repairedService: Brakes

They say they only do hat we want not the other bull but when I took in the car for the transmission acting funny they told me nothing was wrong with it, I asked they to check again so they had the same guy, not another one drive it again and assured me it was ok, I also said it could be a vacume line but instead of checking what I asked, did hat they wanted. They did find a rat neat under the hood but charged me close to a thousand and now my transmission is so much worse. I wonder, to make money off me they would hold that information from me.

I recently moved to NWA from SW Missouri. Had taken my overheating 2003 Dodge Dakota to a corporate chain auto repair. The same issue reappeared after 2 days so this time I had it towed to Richard Mayes Automotive based on their internet reviews. Ryan and Mike were extremely helpful and very honest about my truck issues. They did not do unnecessary tasks to "up the charge" and communicated with me every step of the way. I have found my mechanic for as long as I am in Arkansas...Thanks Guys !

I am so very happy with and grateful for Richard Mayes Auto Service, Inc.! The Toyota dealership gave me a $1500 quote for a problem they could not even locate. Mayes Auto found the problem and fixed it for $99! Thank you so much for your honesty and integrity; it saved this poor teacher's life!

Will not even entertain the idea of installing high end parts on vehical that I had purchased, was told it's because it cuts into their profits. Understood but if they would have taken the time to listen to entire conversation they would have found out that there was more work to do besides the easy money making work I had bought parts for, and would have made some decent money.I know how buisness works, and understand it's their prerogative to accept a job. But that conversation told me real fast that they're buisness mode is to take advantage of who ever they can, left a bad tast in my mouth. But hey that's just my opinion.I'm willing to pay for convince, not be ripped off by greed.

This shop is a complete joke to say the least! If your looking for a good mechanic shop go to Christian brothers automotive in fayetteville there's a reason why the have 85, 5 star reviews and nothing else they are simply amazing the idots at richard mayes way over charge and didn't even fix my truck completely but now I'm glad they didn't bc I found Christian brothers automotive their address is 2870 E Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville AR 72703 they even have a shuttle service for you when you drop off your car.
