The room was clean, the bed was comfy. Definitely more a guys place as there was space for hanging clothes but no hangers, no hair dryer in the bathroom. Oh! The shower head was not positioned for tall people!!! I would definitely stay there again in spite of those 2 small details. The Cotter bridge was right outside our door. That was awesome. The BEST was the owner made us a huge bonfire for our evening enjoyment.Walkability: There was a nice walking-biking trail next to the hotel, & a river. Beautiful park very nearby.

Stayed 2 nights. Room was clean, comfortable, and affordable. Had everything I needed. Location is on the White River. I could walk or drive to several fishing spots within minutes. The staff were very welcoming. Courtney was a great host and her knowledge of where to fish and what to use at the time was spot on. I caught several. I will definitely be back.Rooms: Clean and comfortable.Nearby activities: Ideal location.Walkability: I could have walked to everything I needed

Some negotiations about room rate, was told it was a king suite, when we checked in we learned they only have queen beds. Also said there was breakfast, which was not true. No blow dryer available, very rustic, probably fine for fisherman. Right next to the river and the train tracks which was a loud surprise in the morning! There is a great diner right in front of the building where you can buy breakfast.Rooms: QuaintNearby activities: Park and boat launchSafety: Seemed safe

Very cool place to stay right on White River. It's also as soon as you come of the bridge into Cotter. So easy to find. It's an old school Motel but they restored it all and it's cool! They have a restaurant on the grounds that serves breakfast and lunch. We will be trying it out in the morning so stay posted. They also have a Fly Shop across the street. We will be visiting it in the morning as well and will be reviewing it.

One of the best places I've ever stayed, honestly! The space is beautiful (and HUGE) and the room we were in, a king-bed on the river side of the hotel, had a fridge, microwave, dining table, and one of the most comfortable recliners I've ever sat in. Lots of storage for coats and shoes, plenty of space to spread out, a beautiful bathroom, and very quiet. Even better, it was steps away from the fire pit and the trailhead for the trail that runs under the railroad trellis and along the river. I grew up in Cotter and this is a FAR CRY from how the space used to be! Plus, they let us bring our dog - not a small dog either! - and he felt so welcome too. But even more impressive than the space was the service. From booking to driving up and getting a call from the office about when we'd be there to checking in at the (adorable) fly shop, to getting a late check-out, to the firestarters left outside our door when I mentioned I wanted to maybe do a fire, Faith was so helpful and kind and just...the whole vibe was good. I don't think we'll stay any place else when we visit family in the future. As a bonus, the White Sands restaurant has one of the best diner breakfasts around, and certainly the best in the area.

Great location, but not the best smelling. We were in room 19. Spacious king room and comfortable bed, but it smelled like a bathroom throughout the suite. It was hard to fall asleep, the smell was so noticeable. Waterlogged wooden furniture top under the mini fridge, stained dining area chairs and a very loud window AC unit seemed to be the least of the worries with this room.

This lodge is wonderful. Although a little worn out, the bed was comfy, it was nice to have a table & chairs as well as a recliner in my room.Sitting outside and watching the world go by while petting the cats was awesome. I ve stayed at other places near by- some very expensive but nothing compares to the Lodge. Will be back!!!

Pulling up, it didn t look like much and I thought we made a mistake. Thankfully, I was wrong. A real blast from the past and a motel. But it s in excellent condition and was impeccably clean. Location is great, but the place is just quaint and reminiscent of old-school motels, and far cleaner and more comfortable than some modern hotels I have visited. The high review score is earned. And the adjacent restaurant is a nice surprise as well.

We had a great stay at this lodge on our fly fishing trip. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and neat. The room had a microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker and a small table with chairs. The beds were comfortable and the linens were soft. If we had any complaints they would be no electrical outlet in the bathroom and the shower head was low even for this 5'4" woman. We would stay here again!

We booked this place through Priceline and the description might not be as accurate as it could be. They advertised creek view, but even on the backside overlooking the water...you can't see water. First, checking in was a breeze--you check in by calling them and they text you a code to the door. No keys to lose! If you have any issues they are super fast to come help. When we got there our code wouldn't work but they had us in in no time. We paid extra for a cot that wasn't there but not only did they bring it they offered to make the bed. Everything is home-like: the bedding is a miss match of quilts and blankets, the towels are all super soft and "real" towels, not like the thin cheap ones you often get in hotels. The beds were okay--not uncomfortable, per se, but I've definitely slept on better. The room had a big ac and the cutest fireplace type heater in between the beds. There was a heater built into the wall in the bathroom that was on when we got there--there was a tapestry hung next to it that was SOOO hot to the touch I dont know how it didn't burn (you can see it sitting sideways on the toilet tank in one of the photos). The mini fridge is tiny but worked very well, the microwave worked great and there was a coffee pot. The decor is awesome. The TV was soooo tiny but had a great picture. The shower had great water pressure but the shower head was so low that it only hit my upper back, unless I kneeled (and I'm only 5'8). We were on the second floor and there was a really cool balcony type thing with a cast iron table and chairs. Everyone was very nice and the place was quiet. Ample parking, and within walking distance to some awesome trout fishing. We will be back and I highly recommend this place. Love it for its cozy charm and awesome staff, not because you want a 5 star hotel.

Love this place! It's immediately adjacent to the White River & the historic Cotter Bridge. The owners are really great people. They have grills & a fire pit set up to enjoy your fishing catch in the evening. The rooms are clean. The place is decorated as a fishing lodge because that's exactly what it is. I stay there every year.

Cotter Trout Lodge exceeded my expectations. Myself and my 3 children rented their family room with 3 beds and a large couch. The room had lots of space for us to spread out. It was very clean with lots of great toiletry items in the bathroom. Staff was very friendly. I would gladly stay again.

Always a great experience here! Clean rooms and quiet. We stay every year for the White River Marathon in town and they allow late check out for runners which is super handy for us slow people!

Not a five star resort but the people are great, rooms are clean and the price is right. I have been going here through the last three owners (20 years). It is the best it's ever been. I would recommend to anyone who wants to fish the White River.

Me and 3 other guys stayed here for our yearly fishing trip. We normally stayed at the river rock inn but won't be any more. CTL is a huge upgrade and we plan to make this our new lodging. Great location on the white, boat access down the road, dallys fly shop close by, somewhat closer proximity to wade access points. Regardless, the rooms were clean, smoke free, spacious, and the owners were friendly. CTL, we'll be back.
