They've been very helpful for the work I've needed done, and the price has been pretty fair. When it's something they feel uncomfortable with, they won't just do some work and take the money; they'll refer you out to people who can handle more specialized problems. I appreciate that kind of honesty.

Sooters is a good, honest mechanic. I brought a car in when I didn't pass emissions and they found a leaking intake manifold gasket. The mechanic tricked the emissions just by raising the idle and having me idle the car a bit faster when I was next in line for testing. A much less expensive fix that left me time to fix the main problem. He also fixed some vacuum leaks. Then I bought an Explorer and got it in for an oil change. They found a number of things, little things, that I can fix as I can afford it. They'll change your oil without the other typical sabotage like chain store mechanics.Thanks Sooters, 2 thumbs up

Sooter s has been taking care of my car for 10 years now, and I have always appreciated their work, honesty, and care of both vehicles and their customers. Kim is an amazing business owner and runs a shop of friendly and knowledgeable technicians. I had some pricey front end work done recently, and since I started hearing a concerning sound when driving on bumpy roads.They got me in super fast for an appointment, a technician drove with me to make sure they identified the sound I was hearing, and they fixed the problem within an hour and half, as quoted :) They are always willing to make sure their work is sound. They reported to me the difference between a safety concern and a noise annoyance.I strongly believe that Sooter s has never told me something needed repair that didn t. I feel their assessments are fair and service is thorough, making me feel confident that my money is supporting the right local business. I m beyond grateful to have found Sooter s all those years ago and am a very happy customer, always!Service: Brakes

I came here from a recommendation. I am sad to say they were mistaken. I spoke with a woman who represented herself as the owner. She told me her guess was that a gasket was blown from overheating but to check she would have to go into the engine and it would cost approx $3000 for everything. I could not afford that. I luckily took it to one other mechanic before selling the car. He took one look at it, saw what the problem was and fixed it for $60. Maybe she saw a woman she could take advantage of or maybe she just didn't want to deal with my car. Either way, be careful who you try to trust.

Great family owned place !This review is long overdue, since I was supposed to write it last year.Last year I had to do my belts and I was in a rush since the car was also getting harder to turn. I had also messed up the bolt near the belt area. That was another issue. Many shops quoted me high because of the stripped bolt, had far away appointments, or didn t seem to care.When I spoke with the owner on the phone about my matter, she really listened and was able to get me in soon.The shop did a really great job and was able to find out what was causing my car to not turn smoothly. They were also able to loosen the bolt that I had stripped ! The final bill was also at least half of what some shops quoted.The second time I went was yesterday and today to pick up my Vehicle.I haven t actually tried any other shops around town, so I can t compare service in quality, but I am very happy with Sooters. I plan on using them for the future and have already recommended it to a few friends.Thank you Sooters!!!** had to edit since I wrote the first one on Sir **

My daughter is a student at U of A, and I'm 1200 miles away. They kept me advised of repairs and did a great job for a reasonable price. It's nice to know that there are honest mechanics left in this world. Great people, great price, and straight forward. I called them as soon as I realized my vehicle had an issue they said they can check it out same day, but might take a few days to get the work done, they diagnosed it and had it ready the next day. Went there twice with good service, but the last time I went to get a diagnostic it was terrible! Already told them what I thought the issue was, and they ran a full diagnostic of my truck without telling me, and never telling me there would be a fee to check on the rattle sound. Come the next morning, they charged me $100 to confirm what it was! Topped off my coolant without calling me to see if it was okay, and still charged me for it. Never ONCE did they give me a heads up that I was going to have to pay! When I called back to ask what that all was about, they told me that I should EXPECT to pay because my truck was getting "serviced" when I never approved a full diagnostic. My daughter is a student at University of Arizona. We live in northern California. When she called me to tell me that the check engine light came on in her car and she's supposed to drive 800 miles home next week I immediately had a sunken feeling in my gut! After calling multiple shops that could not see her for two weeks I called Sooters, and spoke to Robert. He told me that if she could bring it down now they would run the diagnostic and see what repairs if any were needed. This was at 4pm in the afternoon. My daughter took the car down, they ran the test only to find out it was just an error that needed to be cleared. Thank you Sooters and staff for taking care of our daughter and making me feel there are still honest repair shops out there. I Highly recommend this business.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I had brought my truck to Sooters many times. I had them replace some shocks on the last visit. They either didn't install it properly, or installed a bad shock. Either way, it almost caused me some serious issues. I will not be returning.

We recommend Sooter s auto service! Very nice people that run a family owned business. We have had our three cars serviced there for many years. Never a problem. Always reasonably priced and fixed right the first time! We wouldn t go anywhere else.

Went here because I had a rounded hex bolt on my motorcycle, it was super quick. Aaron came to help me out and pulled the screw out in 5 minutes

Most honest and friendly mechanic I have found. Paul and Kim were both a joy to work with. They were extremely honest and took the time to talk to me with all my questions. They did not rush me at any point. I will be going to them for all my car issues moving forward.

I highly recommend Sooters. Only shop that has been able to fix the transmission leak in my 1964 Comet for good, and did a lot of other needed mechanical work at a very reasonable price. They also work on my newer SUV, and are very honest. I definitely believe they are not just after your money and they truly care about their customers and getting the job done right. Sorry to see a couple bad reviews on here; I just couldn t imagine anyone at Sooters not doing a giving you noble honest service and doing a stand-up job. They are super busy so call in advance, but it s because a lot of people know they are simply the best in town.

Can I give 10 Stars? In all seriousness, I was completely satisfied with the service I received from Sooter s Auto. Through no fault of their s, the power steering pump they installed in my truck failed, twice. Despite the fact that they were completely booked up, the owner Kim, made time to replace the parts both times, at no extra cost to me, so that I was able to leave on time for my 3,500 mile drive to Canada.Many thanks to them. Their kind of professionalism and integrity is, in my experience, very rare these days.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Air conditioning, Oil change

Top quality place. Sooters was fast to help me when I obviously missed my own appointment. They got me into the shop at a new time and made my repair process easy. The staff was polite and the office was well informed of what was going on with my vehicle as well as everything else in the shop.If you are looking for quality honest work and you are flexible in getting the repairs done you will enjoy having them give you a top quality repair.

I just want to say THANK YOU to Kim and my mechanic Paul for the miracle they did on my Infinity G35! Everybody I took my car to told me she was done (electrical issues) so I called Kim at Sooters and ask them to try. Paul worked his magic providing me with details and updates every step of the way! I got my car back and she is purring like a kitten again:) The best part was the reasonable price they gave me! Honest, fair and trustworthy that is what you get from Sooters I will not take my vehicles anywhere else. We had just pulled up up to check into our hotel on a rainy day when we realized that our back tire was very flat. We googled the closest shop and were fortunate enough to have found Sooters right around the corner. They were so kind to not only fill the flat with air to see if it would hold, but offered to replace it with our spare while we waited. They were incredibly kind and moved us to the front of the line to get us back to enjoying our vacation. Highly recommend!

Sooter's is a top notch auto service business in the Tucson area. I can always count on Kim, Cruz, and the rest of the team to complete superb work on my car, from smaller jobs such as fluid changes to larger one such as a full suspension replacement. They are true experts at their craft, and above all else they always look out for their customers. I went to Sooters for front brake replacement on the recommendation of a friend who highly praised their work. I was similarly impressed. their prices are reasonable and the work professional. As I was preparing to leave, the manager said: " we always try to do our best work but we're human and can make mistakes. If you have any problems I want to know about it." What more can you ask for?

Great, honest mechanics!!!I recently took my vehicle to get inspected by a national-chain shop, and after they inspected it they said that the seals/boots in my rack and pinion assembly were leaking and would need replaced sometime soon. They wanted to replace the whole rack and pinion for $800. I told them I wouldn't do it then and to hold off. I did research online and found that you can replace just boots/seals if mechanics have the right tools. While taking a non-personal car here, I asked them about it and they said to bring it in later that day and they would take a look. After being there for less than 5 minutes, I come to find out that the rack and pinion is fine and that there is a minor leak, but it still has YEARS before the leak becomes bad enough to fix. That five minute inspection saved me over $800! They even added conditioner into power steering free to charge. Having recently moved, I didn't have a go-to mechanic around Tucson, but now I do! Would highly recommend this place! Very friendly and honest mechanics!

Recommended this place to my mom to get her taillights fixed. They called and gave her an estimate before working on the car, then when we picked up the vehicle, they did not have the parts needed to replace the hub seal on one of her wheels. So they did not charge her for that. Honest and reliable mechanics, and Kim is a true professional! Will bring my car here if my husband can't do the repairs!!

One of the last honest repair shops around, with amazingly courteous employees. We recently moved to Tucson, and quickly chose Sooters for our auto needs based on their perfect score. So far we have not been disappointed. They have done exceptional work for us at a reasonable price, and I would recommend them to anyone.

I called to verify an estimate that I got elsewhere, which seemed pretty high. Even though I made it clear that another shop might end up doing the work, the woman who spoke with me took the time to look up the necessary details and give me their estimate. I'm new to town, and since I don't yet have a regular mechanic here, I really appreciated the help. I'd short-list Sooters for my future repair needs.

I trust Sooters to do great work and give a fair price. I always end up going there even after checking around; I trust Kim (owner/manager) and I'm always treated with respect. Great advice for repairs. Honest downsides, long appt wait and a little difficult to drop off a towed car. But all worth it in a business where you can get burned. SOOTERS IS HONEST, FAIR AND PLEASANT!

Wow. Sooters went above and beyond for me. I had been told I needed a new transmission and took my car to Sooters because of their reviews. They gave me an honest diagnosis: I needed a tuneup. My car is running great now and they even did some extra small work that I didn't expect. Thanks, Sooters!! Note: They do get very busy. Make an appointment in advance when you can.

I feel very lucky that Sooter's was recommended to me when we moved to Tucson several years ago. They are always highly professional, do the repairs they say they'll do at the price quoted, and are extremely friendly. I'd been chasing a loud cracking sound in the front end of our low mileage 2000 Honda Cr-v through two shops here in Green Valley. Their solution, vastly overpriced, was to replace the front struts. I just didn't think that was warranted, the struts are less than a year old.I'd been by Sooters for years and thought to give them a call. Cruz, the friendly young tech, took it for a test drive then put it on the lift for a better look. He couldn't find anything really wrong, but did tighten 2 mount nuts on the driver's side strut. Problem solved!!! Took only a few minutes, but with all shops the clock is running as it should, but here - No Charge!!Remarkably positive experience and they've got all our business for the future. As always, it only takes one good man who cares and is determined to get it right to fix any problem. Excellent Shop!!

Trustworthy and excellent customer service. I have taken multiple vehicles here and have always been confident in the repair regardless of year, make or model. Kim is always a pleasure to work with in the office and the guys in the shop are polite and do great work.
