So, my 2015 Chevy 2500hd was making some serious noise from the rear differential. After calling several differential companies in Tucson and not liking what they had to say and feeling like they were out to rip me off, my neighbor recommended calling Darrell at Lloyd's. I called. I was very impressed and felt like Darrell was a straightshooter. I took my truck down, and Darrell was awesome . He definitely knows what he is talking about and is very professional. He explained everything thing to me and sent photos of my damaged gear set that was causing the noise. Now my truck drives like a completely different like new truck with no noise. I'm very impressed and highly recommend Lloyd's.Thanks for the awesome service. You guys are great.

Outstanding service. While traveling, we found Lloyd's to diagnose and repair ourJeep by reading his reviews. He graciously squeezed us in, repaired our Jeep, and had us back on the road in record time. I highly recommend Darrel.

These guys are awesome! Dropped my Bronco off for a drivetrain issue. Turns out was more of an engine problem. They recommended a great shop to get it fixed and didn't even charge me. Hard to find places like this anymore! Highly recommend!

I was referred to Lloyd's by other XMSN shops in Tucson. I was surprised to find that most shops only work on automatics, but all of them said Lloyd's was THE go to for manual work. I called them up, had a conversation about the 6BT/NV4500 swap I was doing in my 1996 Land Cruiser. They were on board with all the work and told me to bring it all down. They tore down the NV4500, cleaned the cases, installed the new output shaft, all new wear parts, a '98+ top cover assembly, 4WD tail housing, and even ordered and installed a short shift kit at my request. They went beyond my expectations on leg work to track down all the parts I needed. I was in no hurry to get it back, but they still got it done before I thought they could. They even made it a point to ensure I knew what fluid to use. Great experience. I will be going back for some drive line work on my 1997 LS swapped Land Cruiser. They have my full recommendation for manual XMSN, axle, t-case, or gear work.Service: Transmission

Let me just say if you need work done look no further than Lloyd's. My daughter's car needed work done on the differential while she's away at School. I was worried about not being able to be there to help but was lucky to find Darrell and Lisa. They got the car in right away, knowing she had no way to get back and forth to school and work. After speaking to them on the phone several times I knew my daughter was in good hands. Darrell got the car done and her back on the road the next day. I can't thank them enough or say enough good things about this family run business, that treats you like family! Darrell and LIsa you are simply the BEST!! THANK YOU!!

So I have been trying to have this shop take my money for a long time and they jost will not. I have an 88.5 Suzuki Samurai project car that has been sitting for over 16 years. I thought I was having some transmission issues but it was diagnosed as a bad cable and I should also do a fluid swap. They walked me through the process and encouraged me to wrench on my own ride. It was really easy and after was all said and done I probably saved over 1k changing all the fluids and installing the lift and new clutch cable. What I found is the cable was frayed in a hidden spot so the clutch was always engaged. If you are looking for an honest shop that specializes in Jeeps, transmissions, clutches, and powertrain upgrades this is the place. Keep in mind this is a small shop with limited capacity and they are always packed with customers.

Very friendly and knowledgeable. Darryl knows what he is doing. Would trust him hands down with any rebuild. Don't go anywhere else. I'm in collision repair and know most everyone and he will be getting my business.

Darrell and his friend were able to quickly diagnose a problem with my EXPLODER that no one else in town could figure out. They were clearly incredibly knowledgeable and were highly invested in doing actual problem solving (unlike so many other shops). Highly recommend.

Lloyds Transmission and Drivetrain , there is so much good qualities about this business and staff. They are honest, loyal, high quality, friendly, family owned and the best in Arizona, hands down. There is no other shop I would ever take my Differentials for gear swaps and or complete rebuild !!! Lloyds will build a product with the quality that will last a lifetime with proper maintenance. Don t cut corners , get it done right the first time and give them a call.1998 4Runner (rear end rebuild)1966 mustang (8.8 , 4:10 gear swapped from 3:73)

If you are looking for an honest, trustworthy, experienced shop in Tucson, look nowhere else. Daryl is the best there is. You will save money and he will tell it to you straight. I have a Jeep that had a major trans issue three years ago. I was quoted over 2000 for the work elsewhere.I received a referral for Daryl and he did it for a quarter of the cost. Very efficient and no mistakes. The only time I went back was three years later for advice on a different type of service and the estimate. He gave me sound advice and told me the cost was warranted and why. Very honest and straight forward mechanic. Daryl and his dad are great people and run a reputable business. I recommend them to everyone and ask they refer them to others. They deserve the business and will give you the best customer service!

I highly recommend Lloyd's for their expertise and honesty!I've been having problems with my differential and originally spoke to Bill at Tucson Differential. After dropping my truck off with him, I never did get a call back as promised despite several follow up calls and felt like I was chasing him to get answers. I understand he's busy but he could have been more proactive in returning my phone calls and actually driving the truck to properly diagnose the issue. After waiting 4 days with my truck just sitting there, per my request he did finally open up the case and saw silver shavings and wear on the teeth so he gave me a quote from him to rebuild it with an open carry case in my GMC Yukon XL.So I called Lloyd's to get a second opinion and spoke to Darryl. Totally different experience at Lloyd's right off the bat. Darryl was extremely helpful and spent more than a half hour over the phone explaining possible scenarios that could be the reason why my truck is pulling to one side intermittently. One of his possible explanations is that different tire pressure, tread, or a brand of tire could be engaging the governer in the positraction since it is highly sensitive. It seemed like too easy a solution but interestingly I did replace one of my tires that blew out with a different tire and after rotating my tires, there were two different tire brands in the rear, with different tread and air pressure (30 psi vs 32 psi).Darryl invited me to bring my truck in person so he could test drive it to see for himself exactly what the truck is doing (something that Bill at Tucson Differential told me he couldn't do since he is too busy).I brought my truck in person and he took the time to test drive my truck around for about 20 minutes. After giving me my options he suggested that before I spend the big bucks to rebuild the differential that I put on tires of the same brand, tread, and air pressure to see if that fixes the problem.I simply followed Darryl's suggestion and put on 4 new matching tires and voila, it worked! The rear drive train wasn't making anymore big clancking noises and it was a nice smooth drive.I want to thank the honest people of Lloyd's like Darryl who talked himself out of an easy $2000 sale just to help me actually solve the problem without trying to push me into a sale for his own profit.I'll most definitely be back when my differential does eventually go out and have Lloyd's do the rebuild. Thank you very much, Darryl!

I cannot say enough good things about Lloyd s Transmission! I have been there twice with gear issues for my 1998 Toyota Tacoma and both times Darrell knew what the problem was and took care of it in no time. The difference in shifting gears now is like night and day! Darrell and his wife, Lisa, are the very definition of honest work and good old fashioned customer service. If you have a manual transmission that s giving you grief, don t go somewhere else and risk being told (falsely) that you need a whole new transmission. Go see the good people at Lloyds who will tell you the truth and do the repairs for a very fair price. Thank you, Darrell and Lisa, for your kindness!

Lloyd's Transmission and Drivetrain is THE BEST for Jeeps and all 4Wheelers. We take our off road machine there for repairs, upgrades and massive mods. Family owned and operated, these are good people who really know what they are doing. Even though the parts were out of warrantee, Lloyd's worked with us to get our Jeep back onto the trails without busting our wallet. I will always go back to them and recommend them to everyone in the 4Wheeling club we belong to.
