At 74, and having close to 50 motor vehicles in my life, I have never experienced an auto repair shop even close to JayBees. I was driving our Ford F150 home from Port Townsend, WA, where I learned that we had a major repair needed to the engine. Luckily I came across JayBees website and was compelled to call. Lucky me, Shelly Maynard answers the phone and a real conversation takes place. Why is this point important? I ll ask you the reader of this review, when is the last time you called any service business and experienced a person who was authentic and cared about why you were calling?I set an appointment a few days after I would return home to Tucson and explained that I had an extended warranty service I d not used before. Shelly assured me that they work with the various companies often and that she would take the lead.JayBees Auto Service is owned and operated by women, and has been for several decades. It s my opinion, that this is why it s run and operated with such dignity. Every step of the way I was communicated with and advised about making decisions as the mechanic discovered a few additional issues.After less than a week, our truck was ready to be brought home. I had not met anyone in person yet, because we dropped it off the night before our appointment. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jacqui Harry, and Shelly at the same time. This entire experience was so uniquely enjoyable that it still is resonating with me, even two weeks afterwards.Thank you JayBees! BarryService: Engine repair

THE BEST AUTO REPAIR FACILITY IN TUCSON! PERIOD!This is the place to get any car, truck, or other automobile serviced or repaired. It's also a woman owned and operated business. Jacqui Harry is the owner, and this service facility has been in business for decades. (Yes, I said DECADES!) It has been voted best auto repair facility in Tucson by the Tucson Weekly. I personally worked there 15 years ago or so, and I can tell you quite honestly, that in my entire career in the vehicle repair industry (I'm 62), I have NEVER seen another business of any kind that is more honest and reliable, NONE! This is not a biased review, it's simply a fact. The owner actually pays her technicians to take multiple auto service seminars annually, as well as paying for the class's themselves. This means her technicians not only have well over a century of combined experience in all aspects of auto repair, but are current and up to date on all the latest and best technology's and methods. I have never seen anyone more honest with their customers. If you have a tight budget, they'll tell you what MUST be done, and give you estimates on anything else you should be concerned about, with absolutely no pressure to pay more than you can afford. They will make sure you completely understand the problem, as well as what they are going to do in order to repair the problem, even if you have absolutely NO mechanical expertise whatsoever. They do not expect you to self diagnose the problem before you bring it to them. In other words, it's okay to come in and say "it's making a weird squeaking noise from somewhere underneath when I drive, and something is leaving a stain on my garage floor under the left front corner, and my dash lights don't work". They are the friendliest people you would ever want to meet, and they not only have a nice cool waiting room, but they will shuttle you somewhere else if you want to drop your car off for service, and be dropped off, and picked up somewhere else when it's done!NOTE:While you are there, you might want to pay a visit to Henry's Hair Studio located inside the Jay Bees waiting room. They are equally as skilled, virtuous and friendly in their business!

JayBees has been repairing our old cars for years and years. They fixed the A/C on our 2002 van after the dealer tried 2 times and was not successful but JayBees figured out the problem and made it work. They recently fixed our 1994 Explorer and did a complete engine change on my husband's 2006 Mustang last month. They always do a fantastic job, are excellent at communication, have fair pricing, go above and beyond to find parts especially for older cars, and are kind and helpful. Thanks JayBees! No one really has to go anywhere other than here for trustworthy auto repair service! Had my car " repaired" at MPG where they did more damage by their "professionals"! Jay Bee's repaired my car to the point it felt brand new!! After Pep Boys gave me a quote of almost $1,500 to have my steering repaired, I decided to take my car to Jay Bee's for a second quote. Jackie came out and inspected my tires first and showed me that the problem of my car pulling is because of the tires not the steering. She she suggested going to East Side Tire, a few buildings down from them, to get new tires. Jay Bees helped me solve my problem and get new tires all in about an hour. There was also no charge on their expertise for letting me know that it was a tire problem and not steering. I have been using their service for at least 25 years and trust them to the fullest. Thank you Jay Bee's.

Best experience I;ve ever had at any auto service. From the moment I called, I knew I was in the right hands. Shelly was so kind and thorough in all her explanations and consistently kept me as informed as I could be about my vehicle. I had some issues in my vehicle regarding a strange smell coming from the AC and after a very thorough examination of everything, I had that fixed along with all other maintenance needs. It turned out to be an oil leak, and now the car feels brand new with no leakage. It is running smooth as ever. And to top all of that off- they have a cat in the office! Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thanks JayBees!

I would absolutely recommend Jaybees to any one looking to come into contact with friendly, helpful and informative car maintenance and repair professionals. The service was prompt and the wait times were minimal. Pricing is fair, and the quality of the work done is, in my opinion, top tier. I will be making most of my appointments with this crew moving forward, and highly appreciate their services. Not only are all of the workers here professional, they all genuinely care about providing each customer with a detailed breakdown of what each vehicular issue is, and do their absolute best to get if fixed properly. If I could give this shop 10 stars I would. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and honest staff. Excellent mechanics who know what they are doing - not like other shops where you have to keep taking your car back because they didn't fix it right. I have been coming here for years for my personal vehicles, my fleet vehicles, and my parents' vehicles and would not even consider trusting any other shop to work on my vehicles.

My husband's family has known the family of the people who own this shop for generations. Going back to the late 1960s, in fact, because they were both in the local auto repair trade. That's why we thought we would get good service. So disappointed.My 2006 Mustang had the check engine light on. We took it to Auto Zone and they said the most likely cause was the EGR valve. While trying to find someone to fix it, we also started having problems with the check charging system warning coming on. Eventually, the alternator went out and we replaced that.We got time to take it in to JayBees for the EGR issue. Instead of fixing the EGR problem, they insisted that the car's computer needed to be fixed. They did that to the tune of several hundred dollars and sent the car home.The charging system immediately started acting up. They diagnosed it and said that it needed a new alternator...again. So, we got a more expensive alternator and changed that.Then, the check engine light came back on. We asked them about it. They told us that we had to change the EGR valve. What???? That was the initial problem we took it to them for when they instead charged us for changing the computer!!Anyway, they said they would charge us $600 to change the EGR valve. Mind you, it's a $150 (resale) part at Auto Zone or O'Reilly and takes at most 30 minutes to change.So, we changed the EGR valve ourselves despite the fact that it's why we originally took it to them when they decided they would charge us a ridiculous amount to change a different part instead.The check charging system warning came on again. Our shadetree mechanic looked at the alternator again. Plastic parts near the engine are burned and melted. We took it back to Auto Zone. They tested it and it was no good. It has a lifetime warranty, so they gave us a new one and we put it on again. This is the third time we've changed it in less than a year.The check engine light is still on, meanwhile, so there seems to be something still wrong that they never diagnosed.So, now I don't know what to do. There's something obviously wrong with the car. It never had anything to do with the computer that they charged us to change. I don't trust them to look at it again. If you can't trust someone whose family you've known for almost 55 years, who can you trust? I certainly don't have $500-600 a pop to give them to do work that doesn't fix the problem.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

What an awesome experience!! I can't believe I said that about auto repair. But this group made it possible and enjoyable. They are very friendly from the get go as expected from a business. But they went above and beyond by keeping me informed and staying late to finish my truck. They are honest and hard working and by the end of the day I had my '98 Toyota running great again. They even added a quart of oil and filled the washer fluid. I am very grateful to do business with a place like this. Especially during the current times. They are models of friendliness business etiquette and integrity.Thank you

Jay Bee s is the only place I will ever take my car, they are the absolute best! Specifically, in July I had a check engine light on that would not allow me to pass emissions, and after I could not troubleshoot the problem myself I took it to their shop. The staff are so friendly and considerate, and really listened to and noted the work that I had already done to my car. They were diligent in locating the problem and I had my car back in 2 days, then passed emissions beautifully. The best part about their service is I received an extremely detailed summary of all testing and troubleshooting they had done throughout the process (literally, almost an entire page of notes!) as someone who works on my own car when I can, this is a substantial courtesy as I can use it for reference when future issues arise with my vehicle. When all was fixed, the cost was substantially lower than the original cost projection I immensely appreciate that they did not take advantage by adding unnecessary parts or labor to the final cost (and I have to say, this is the first time in my life a mechanic has called me to tell me that the cost was actually going to be much lower than potentially expected!).After years of bouncing back and forth between untrustworthy mechanics, I am elated to have found Jay Bee s. They have worked on my car three times now, and every time has been an absolutely positive experience. I cannot give them enough praise for their work, and even beyond that for their stellar customer service skills. I would recommend Jay Bee s to anyone, and do so every chance I get.

I have been ripped-off so many times by mechanics. JayBees actually fixed my car for FREE because the part was under warranty, which I had no idea and expected to pay a lot. This is the most honest place ever!!! This shop has the most integrity and will simply not screw you over. Never have I had such a GREAT experience!!! Thank- you soooo much Jacqui, Shelly, Doug and all of your staff. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

The absolute nicest staff! They are always honest about what's going on with fair pricing. Seriously, as someone who does not know cars at all, I never worry about feeling like I'm going to be lied to so I spend more on car "repairs" that I dont need like I do at the big-name chains. They're incredibly knowledgeable, so even someone like me can describe the issues with whatever is going on with my car and they'll figure it out. (Plus, they dont laugh at you if you sound a little silly when you describe the issue.)

Best customer service!I had always felt like the staff cared when I took my truck in for regular maintenance at Jay Bee's. Now I know firsthand that the service is great.I had a problem after 5pm, just before a holiday, and I crossed my fingers and called in the hopes that someone would pick up. Not only did they answer, they put a mechanic on the line to walk me through a workaround that would keep me driving through the holiday weekend until the proper part could be obtained. Thanks for going above and beyond.

*******PLEASE DONT GO HERE!***** They treat people like dogs Did not receive the amount of service for the price. I Was charged $175 for a diagnostic fee which I was not guaranteed would fix the issue. I was forced to push my car to the street to fix my vehicle myself because they won t budge for part price and replace a part I purchased myself. No compassion or remorse for my situation. Robbery. Do NOT ever go here. **after you held for my car for ransom. . .I was left with no choice but to pay. You know it s funny, how pleasant people are over the Internet, but where was this in person. I explained my situation and you robbed me with a smile and a programmed response. :-0I came off the faith of a good review and rating, but I spoke truth, and I will continue to speak truth about you re operation. . . You treat people like dogs. Thanks for the Advice. NOT.

Welcoming, friendly people who remember their customers and seem genuinely interested, perform good efficient service at reasonable prices. They don t perform services not needed. I ve only used them twice but they will be my go-to for all future auto service. It s important to deal with people I feel I can trust! If you are not a mechanic and want to understand exactly what is going on with your car, I would recommend JayBees. I have used them for roughly 15 years. Their prices seem fair and they explain things in a way that is clear to "non-mechanics". If there is a problem, you get a phone call and are advised of the urgency and safety concerns; then you will be apprised of any options you may have and the costs. I have never walked away wondering "what" I just paid for or "why".

Jay bees is one of the finest oldest repair shops here in Tucson. I've known Jackie since I was about 4-5 yrs old, she used to work for Virgil back when it was Virgils Complete Auto Supply back in the 60's and 70's. My dad used to have one of the Towing services and he did all their towing. But they've been in Tucson for decades, they provide the BEST OVERALL diagnosis and repair..if I ever need something done RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, it's Jackie and Shelley at Jay bees! !!!!

I have been a customer for a long time. I have to admit though I was having a starting issue with my 1991 Toyota Pickup that other mechanics and JayBees could not figure out. I thought I was going crazy because when I would tell other mechanics and Jaybees about the problem, when they would try to see what the issue was, the truck always started. Over the course of years I had 2 starters replaced. 1 was at another repair shop and the 2nd time was with Jaybees. Was informed that the problem was the starter but, when replacing the starter, the issue of starting never seemed to get fixed I was getting very frustrated because I was told I need a new battery and I know it is not the battery becasue it is new.I have to admit at one point in time I was looking for a new mechanic that could finally figure out what was going on becasue this starting issue was becoming a major problem. Would not start sometimes for 2 hours and then start right up!Well as timing could not be worse, the starting issue became where the truck would not start at all. I had to have it towed to Jaybees and told Jacqui the starting issue again. Fortunately since I had replaced the starter a year ago it was under warranty.Jacqui called a couple days later and informed me of the problem which I thought this time it sounds like they finally found the problem.When I went to pick up my Truck I asked Jacqui what the problem was and she informed me, that there was an issue on the inner parts of the starter, and she showed and explained to me what the problem was so I understood it. Because my truck is a 1991 cannot get a new starter from the dealer so had to replace with a rebuilt one. Jacqui informed me because of the rebuilt one the problem that happend with my starter can happen, and they found out it.All I can say is that I am finally relieved and not feeling crazy because this seemed to fix my starting issue.Jaybees also has great customer Service and they never turned me away becasue of my Toyota Truck being older where I was finding that other shops would not work on it because it was.All I can say is even though I doubted them, They were the ones that figured it out and I felt like Jaqui made it right!Service: Engine repair
