I took my car here a few years ago to get some repairs. My brakes needed work. My rotors were worked on, my brakes were replaced, and so were my ball joints. I was pleased enough with the work, even though my brakes still squealed.Just recently my car squealed when I turned. I took it into another mechanic and turns out my ball joints were NEVER greased when replaced. This mechanic was the only one I had gone to in the last 5 years. The new mechanic I had gone to could tell there was never any grease on the ball joints. My transmission fluid was also filled beyond the fill line, one that is very obviously seen. To replace the ball joints and other parts they affected, came out to be over $3,000. If my ball joints failed, I couldn't lost a wheel and caused a huge accident.I suggest saying far, far away from this mechanic. I, and many others, could have died due to the accident bad ball joints could cause. Sure my initial repair was less than $500, but it was a costly repair down the line to fix what they did. And that's not taking into consideration the cost of human life that losing wheels or veering into other cars could've caused. I don't know if it's because I'm a woman or if it's greed and negligence that caused me to be taken advantage of, but my life and others were in danger because of it.Never come here, run in the opposite direction.

We have been bringing our Ford 2009 P-71 to Dean at Budget Automotive since we arrived in Tucson 3 years ago. We have received quality work at fair prices. We would never go anywhere else.

Took my 2014 Kia Forte there for an AC leak check based on their advertised free AC check billboard. There is a leak, but they could not find it. They wanted $275 to fill it with freon and dye and check for leaks (so much for a free AC check). Other places quoted me $120 to fill with freon and dye.There was a noise in my steering which I asked them about, and they said they "need to run a diagnostic" and told me it needed a coupler replaced. Their "diagnostic" alone cost me $115.I left without getting any work done there as their "free AC check" wasn't free. They were not able to find the leak or quote me an accurate price to fix the leak. The steering coupler, they quoted me $350....which I was also able to find elsewhere for much less. I live across the street from them and wanted a convenient place to do all my repairs. They've lost my business even before they gained it. Find another shop.Service: General repairs & maintenance

So far a nice company and does not try to rip people off. I am a young woman and have had plenty of car places try and get over just because. I am definitely bringing my vehicle back for all needs and will recommend. Will update on how things go in future visits for accuracy.

Knowledgeable, fast, and affordable. They have the parts and knowledge to work on European cars like Mercedes, Jaguar, etc while many other affordable shops don t. I also saw them working on classic cars.This shop is honest, and can work on any vehicle with wheels and an engine.

Dean the owner really takes good care of you as well as his team of mechanics they do a really great job. I personally have took in my vehicle there and got my transmission rebuilt and never had an issue with it since and it's been over 4 years. Today I just recently went to get a mirror maintenance on it. But super satisfied with the quality of service and the customer service. Thanks Dean you guys rock.

Best place in Tucson!!! I have been coming to this business for over 2 years. Each time I am always in amazement with how honest they have been with me from the start. When I first went to them, I thought I needed new brake pads and rotors as Break Masters on Speedway and Silverbell told me I needed. I went to them to get a bid and compare but what happen next made me become a loyal customer. After checking my brakes they told me that my brakes where almost new and I didn't need anything at that time.I am some one who doesn't know a whole lot about cars, so if you tell me I need something, most likely I will believe you and move on with my life.This last time, which is why I wanted to write this review, I needed an oil change and some other services done that they had recommended on my last visit, however, I wanted to figure out what my noise that was rattling around under my car. I was ready to spend anywhere between 6-700 dollars. After doing a full inspection they discovers that my brake hardware was missing and they replaced it. They thought I might need new brake pads and quoted me what it could be if I did need those services. Turns out I didn't and after replacing the missing hardware it all came out to $373.00.Team Budget Automotive, thank you for being so honest and professional. I can't thank you enough for helping me and educating me on my car. I had my daughter's 2008 Ford escape diagnosed for repairs trusting we would get an honest estimate and repair service. We were told the car needed a nearly $400 in pulleys, tensioner and belt. After informing them the problem was not resolved, they now want $800 to replace the alternator, pulleys, tensioner & belt. I have no trust or confidence in their ability to provide honest service and would not recommend doing business with this repair shop.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I brought my vehicle here twice within a week, due to issues with my car starting consistently. The first time they repaired a battery connection for a very reasonable price, along with a roughly $100 diagnostic fee. I continued to have trouble starting my car and I brought it back again and they waived my diagnostic fee when I came the second time, at my request. My ignition cylinder was replaced at this point and I felt the price was reasonable. Now, 3 months later I'm having the same problems again so I really couldn't recommend this shop, although they were able to get me in quickly.Service: Electrical

Dean and Aaron took on my project that most shops wouldn't, without hesitation. They replaced a blown head gasket and several other repairs on my old 52 Ford 8N. They kept me updated throughout the entire process and did it all for the most fair price, well below what others wanted to charge for. Cleanest shop and most knowledgeable crew in town. Honest, trustworthy, FAST, and fantastic communication - all the qualities thats hard to find in shops these days. I highly Budget recommend for any automotive issues, they do the job right and for an extremely fair price. Thanks guys, I'll be back for any future service needed.Service: Engine repair

I liked this place a lot. It was the first time I went here for service. The price for all four shocks installed was the same as other places were charging for just two shocks. Dean was easy to work with. Straight forward and honest. The other mechanic (sorry i didn't get his name) was also easy, direct, and logical in his suggestions for my truck. I liked him instantly. He is a mechanic, not a salesman, if you know what I mean... He told me what was good for my truck, not what was good for his wallet. I will be going back for any future service my truck may require. This includes routine service, too...If you are reading reviews then you are looking for a mechanic. You have nothing to lose by talking with them. They might be exactly who you are looking for.

These employees, its employer r super in my humblest opinion. The key is: they take their time, don't rush anything. Treat your vehicle as if, it's their own. Total, complete veracity when it comes to parts & issues with your vehicle. The employees do super quality work & demand the Best of theirselves. U can count on 95% perfection, quality, honesty trust that your vehicle is in reliable hands . If u prefer quality work, this the place to come... They will Always, listen give honest complete assessments. Remember, we r human, no 1 will give u 100% perfection, 'cause we all r subject to errors. Seldom, if at all, will u find any major errors. This is team shop with team members that Always Pride themselves on customer satisfaction & a little thanks in return. Would u agree that's Not asking 4 much...

Excellent service. I have been coming to Budget Automotive for over 10 years, they have worked on 3 different vehicles of mine. I always call around to get estimates but always come back to Budget. Even when the price wasn't the lowest - they had the best option. I highly recommend Dean and his team to work on your vehicle. they have yet to disappoint me, from service on the vehicle to customer service. Excellent.

Budget Automotive has consistently exceeded my expectations with regard to needed repairs and associated costs. The cost of repairs has never been greater than I expected and the work is always done well and on time.The service center is always kept in proper condition and amazingly organized.I have recommended Budget Automotive to many friends.

This place is amazing! They are so nice, professional, and extremely helpful. They work hard and do great work as well. I will never go to another shop because of the amazing service I get here! We have been trying to get our vehicle through emissions for months now and they not only did the work needed but got it through emissions for us. Thank u Budget you are amazing!

I've had to bring my vehicle here for numerous repairs and have been absolutely satisfied each time. They're very easy to deal with, don't overcharge, and do an excellent job. Seeing as how I got my vehicle at an auction, and its previous owners weren't exactly up to date on vehicle maintenance, I'm sure it will need more work at some point in the future. When it does, I will definitely be bringing it back here!

I took my car into Firestone one week prior for my AC and they wanted to charge me $2,700 to fix my air conditioning alone. my transmission started acting up around the same time. This morning I called several places and they couldn't see me until the following week and then I called budget automotive and they got me in that same morning. Aaron the technician stop me before I could leave to show me the busted coolant hose that was likely causing the problem. they didn't charge me any diagnostic fees to figure out the problem whereas Nissan wanted to charge me $300 to just look at the two problems.budget quoted me around $300 which fixed my air conditioning and my transmission problems. Everyone there was so nice including Dean who works up front and the other techs that stopped and said hi on their way in that morning. I will definitely be taking my car back there to get any remaining work done and will be referring anyone who needs their car repaired to budget automotive.

This is an honest shop that does excellent work at a fair price. They fixed two unusual problems with my 35 year old sports car, plus fixed an irritating vibration on my wife's 2013 Hyundai that the dealer couldn't figure out. Highly recommended.

I have had nothing but great experiences when going to Budget Automotive. I personally have bought two cars from Dean and both were very reliable vehicles and never broke down. The few issues I have had, Budget was able to take care of for a great price. They 100% back all of their work which is a huge positive.I would definitely recomend Budget Automotive to a friend or relative!

Fast, effecient & cost effective! Pretty cheap and great work, and DEFINITELY some of the best customer service out there! You need something done and don't know where to go, I can gaurantee you this is the best place to go! If I ever have vehicle issues again, I'll definitely come back and know it'll be dealt with swiftly and professionally. Thank y'all again!

I took a car there to see why the AC didn't work. An hour later, I got a call they said they found the problem. They said they had to manually adjust AC to blow to front only . I was charge 95.00. I tried the AC still didn't worked. I told the guy there I believe his name is Dean, he said its worked when he fixed it. After talking with him he told me he couldn't refund me and I needed to get a whole new AC system. I looked at the in store brochures for financing... he looks at me and said thats only if you have good credit. This guy is rude trivial and scams. DO Not go there.

Dean is a good honest manager! The mechanics are really qualified and know their business. Their prices are fair and their quality of work is oustanding. I highly recommend Budget Automotive to everyone!

Dean was really nice and let us know how much it would come out to. Don was the mechanic who helped us and he went above and beyond to help us out. The price actually ended up cheaper than the first quote and everything turned out perfectly. Very pleased.

Terrible service! There is a sign out front that says "FREE A/C AND TRANSMISSION CHECK". When I take my car in for said check they took it for a few days. When I went back in to pickup my car, they told me there was a $95 charge. When I asked what the charge was for, they said it's because I didnt specifically ask for the FREE check, so they had to charge. Dont advertise free checks if it isnt free. Or, specifically say the options when someone comes in. It's not hard to be polite!
