I came in unsure what was going on with my Brake system and looking for answers after going to two other places in and outside of Tucson trying to diagnose the issue. They listened and actually found the root of the issue plus a couple of extra items (transmission fluid and resurfacing needed). The bill initially was a gut punch but the manager worked with me and was able to get more cost effective parts so I was able to get everything done that day with a price I could afford. 10/10 recommend this location and will absolutely go back!

The office manager, Andre, was amazing! He was professional, knowledgeable and understanding. He went above and beyond to ensure I got the best possible price for the work that was needed. He never tried to up sale me. I had to have rotors, caliper, pads and brake flush with replacement fluids. I also had an oil change done. He had my vehicle in and completed in under 2 hrs from a walk in on a Saturday. His team in the bays were amazing and professional as well! I would recommend them to anyone! It's hard to find truly honest mechanics so I am extremely thankful for Andre and the team at BRAKEmax.

Do not go to this location. They told me I needed $4k of work. Said oil was leaking from my housing and underneath my engine. I explained to them prior that the cap to my oil filter housing was not on correctly and the gasket was compromised a few months prior. They flat out lied to me. After they changed the oil with the new oil filter gasket, I took it to my dad's mechanic and he said no leaks. I checked every day for a few weeks to see if oil levels were good and monitored the engine. NOTHING. oh, luckily I checked my engine before I left. They forgot to put the oil cap back on. Left it in the garage bay. Stay away!!!

Great service and work. Came in around 8am with a scheduled appointment for a tire rotation and made it out 845am. Friendly and great price for the service.

The guys were really nice at this store. They gave me photos of an issue that needs to be taken care of eventually. The tech told me not to get overwhelmed when seeing the estimate quote & the estimate quote showing on oil pan gasket work was the $35.00 for what I had done that day. If that's the quote for an oil pan gasket replacement, then I'll certainly take it, who wouldn't?!

Been using these guys for years, but now I'm not sure about them. Oil change appointments would usually take 1.5-2hrs. And one guy said I needed my air filter changed when I had just replaced it. He seemed flustered when I mentioned that. I hope they're not one of those bad auto shops that tries to take advantage of female customers. Exercise caution. Know your vehicle.

We had a problem with a tire that was caused by someone else. Andre the store manager was very helpful. He suggested solutions that quickly addressed the issues and he was able to get a replacement tire put on the car. All of this was coordinated via phone with my student at UofA. I would highly recommend BrakeMax they were helpful and professional throughout this issue.

This place almost killed me or left me severely injured. Went to them for an oil change and tire rotation (they throw in a free tire rotation with every oil change) in September of 2022. This was reasonably priced so I left happy. I then headed to class on the north side and all was good, but on the way back home, my entire car began to shake. I drove as safe as possible and finally made it home and when I checked my tires to see why my car was shaking I saw that EVERY lug nut on my tires were missing besides one. I had been driving on the freeway going 70 mph, so if one of my tires flew off I could have been severely hurt or possibly dead and could have inflicted the same result into other civilians. I immediately called BrakeMax (on golf links and kolb) and the manager was sympathetic and paid for a tow truck to bring my car back. There, they replace all my lug nuts and have me two free oil changes. I utilized one of my free oil changes about 6 months ago and marked my tire to know if they did the tire rotation. I also checked my lug nuts to see if they were secured for safety reasons. Today, I utilized my second free oil change and asked the associate at the front desk if they still do free tire rotations with every oil change. This associate assured me that they would rotate my tires. After an hour of waiting, my vehicle was done. I returned to my car to see that the tire rotation was not done at all. I know this because I use a silver marker to put an x on my front driver side tire and this tire was not rotated at all. I went into let the association know that they did not rotate my tire but was stuck waiting at the front desk for about 10 minutes. I had then decided to leave and write this review. I will not be going back to BrakeMax and am incredibly disappointed and shocked by their mistakes or negligence.

Great staff, quick process, and didn t try to upsell me on anything. Came in for an oil change and I left an hour later with rotated tires, a new oil filter, new oil, and an inspection for $70. I will be coming here from now on.

I brought my 2009 Sonata in for an oil change, The Manager of the shop was very friendly. Later during the service, I asked for the mechanic to check the condition of the spark plugs. Stated that I was not worried about anything too specific but my car is over 100k in miles and it s time to consider preventative maintenance to avoid major issues. He quoted me for more maintenance issues than I asked for which I didn t really care for but it s cool that he pointed the problems out. It gives me an Idea of what to fix next.Service: Oil change

Went in today to get my breaks checked out. And the store manager and techs where amazing. They thoroughly explained to me what needed to be done with my car and for once I actually understood it and I didn t feel swindled at all. Lol.. however they where very short staff but they where still able to work on my car effectively. Just keep in mind they have 2 techs. So be patient and kind they will get the work done and it s worth it. I highly recommend this store to any female who are lost when it comes to there cars.. or to anyone in general. Prices are fair and the workers are amazing !!! Thank you guys

I needed to get my front brake pads replaced on my 2015 bmw 328i. The customer service representative, Victor was very friendly and worked with me on applying best rates and discounts but the total price of $734.05 for break pads and sensors was still a bit too high (almost same as bmw dealership). I would want to go back for my rear brakes since the shop is close to home and convenient as they provide you a lyft home until your vehicle repairs are completed, but only if I get a better rate :)

Went there yesterday to get my brakes checked for a cross-country move, with towing a small trailer. Met with Kenny, and they did their very best to get me in quickly, evenbthough I was informed that it might be an hour before they could get to it. I needed rear brakes replaced and front rotors resurfaced. Anyone can easily say "Need everything replaced". So I appreciate their honestly. Took a while to do and I was late for another appointment (not the shops fault. I should have gotten an earlier start to my day), but the job was done at what I think was a fair price, and apparently done right as I had to stop kind of short leaving the shop and the roads were faily wet after a rainstorm. And Kenny is a great guy to deal with, although he roots for the wrong college football team. LOL If I ever need brake service again in Tucson (I am not a local), I will come here first.

I loved the attitude and help I got. They were positive toward me and I observed this with other customers. I had a problem no one would help me with (I am 76 yrs) and this Brakemax did. As long as those two guys are there they will get my business!

Andre was my point of contact. Lionel was my technician. Both were thorough in describing the problem. What all my options were. Once settled, car was promptly repaired. Andre was able to get my car in less than an hour after I called to see if he could repair it. Andre is great. Took pride in helping out any way he could. Car repair before Thanksgiving is rough. He made a bad day better. Thank you

excellent work! my car battery died when I got out of work at 10:00 p.m. I dropped it off that night at Breakmax Golflinks /Kolb . called Break Max in the morning explain to them my situation . They tested the battery to make sure that was the issue. it was! they replaced the battery and I was on my way to work by 9:15 a.m. they did an excellent job!

BRAKEMAX on South Kolb Road in Tucson, Arizona recently completed a tremendous effort on my 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe. Led by Store Manager and fellow U.S. Navy Veteran "ANDRE THE GIANT" ( We also concluded he is much better looking) BRAKEMAX accomplished absolutely everything needed for my now completed across country excursion to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.Not only did I immediately drive 2300 miles to Michigan, I have been running all over Wisconsin and Michigan attempting to catch up with all of my numerous Veterans Administration medical appointments since.It is truly amazing what the entire staff troubleshooted and repaired to ensure I would not experience any negative issues with my relocation effort to the upper peninsula of Michigan.In closing, I must reiterate my heartfelt gratitude for the professionalism and expertise demonstrated by the BRAKEMAX Team on South Kolb Road in Tucson.Please advance a "hello" to everyone Happy Thanksgiving

I go here when I'm too lazy to do it myself. I like to bring my car in when I know what's wrong with it just to see if they know what they are doing. These guys never fail the test. Sometimes takes a few hours to complete the job, but they usually do good work and never overcharge for the work.
