I ve been taking my car to Automotive Specialists for several years now and every time I m reminded why they re the best! Mitch and Brion are always honest, trustworthy and do great work! They ve taken great care of my older car and keep it running perfectly. I love having a local, family owned business that I can trust to go to for all of my automotive needs! Highly recommend!

The people at this place are most definitely qualified mechanics, and seem to really know what they are doing. Unfortunately, they seem more suited to work on specialty vehicles rather than on everyday vehicles like mine, which leads them to charge enormous prices for their service.The person I dealt with the most was Brion, who is a nice guy, but had the air of a salesman in many of our our interactions. He gave me gloom and doom about the condition of my vehicle, and the impression that my car was about seize. To that end, I needed to spend $2,100 to repair numerous things in my vehicle.The diagnostics from this place was great. It cost $97 and it was very detailed. Brion did a great job giving me a rundown of the things that needed to be done, as well as the cost. The amount of money that I was to pay seemed outrageous though.Upon speaking to friends and family about what was going on, it was suggested that I go to a different, but equally certified mechanic. This person ended up charging me only 1,200. He had it done within a couple of hours. He also said that some of the repairs recommended by the previous mechanic was unnecessary.Maybe you will feel safer going to this place. After all, they do have certified mechanics, and it seems that they do good work. But as a person working on a teacher's salary, I can't help but feel like I was being taken advantage of by this place, especially in light of the fact that I paid nearly $1,000 less than what they quoted me.

I worked with this team to solve some tricky issues on my Grand Cherokee a few years back and now again with my 2018 F-150. They were quick, responsive, honest, fairly priced and helped to resolve issues caused by other dishonest dealership/shops quickly and get me back on the road safely.Sometimes I worry about being taken seriously as a young blonde woman in the automotive world, but I don t have that discomfort with this team and that is much appreciated!

All issues were handled in a timely manner. All costs were explained before work was started. Brion was knowledgeable and easy to talk to about my expectations. This is my new go to place for my truck.

SHADY!! My roommate had this business do a transmission fluid flush and break line fluid changed and they charged her after doing nothing. Fast forward a few weeks, her transmission fluid was burning and she was stranded on the side of the highway hours away from home. After getting it to the dealership, they said her transmission fluid was catching fired was never changed, confirming and documenting they did no work on her vehicle. When contacted automotive specialists immediately got defensive and gave her the run around on how it wasn't their fault. The issue is still ongoing and they won't claim liability. I'll update when there is a final outcome.

You get what you pay for. They are a little more expensive but the work is quality. I never feel like they are adding work on that doesn't need to be done. Great communication.

We have had multiple vehicles looked at by this shop. Always seems to be fair. Very upfront with what the problem is and the pricing to repair the problem. They always test before suggesting repairs. Puts your mind at ease to know they are not just randomly trying things to fix your vehicle. I will definitely keep visiting when my vehicles have problems. Not the cheapest shop in town, but they get the work done right and stand by their work. Great auto shop in NW Tucson.

I've been here twice. Once when the wheel bearing got me caught out of town. Service was great and cost what I expected. I don't expect anything but book prices from a reputable outfit and that is what I got. If they can do it quicker/less expensive that is their gain. I've found that outfits that price lower than book often provide lesser service and quality.I was happy with the first service that I came back when I was in town again and had them change all of the fluids. This is not an inexpensive task on a 4 wheel drive truck Done in a day and I was happy again for the service I received.I thought I had the transmission fluid changed with the other fluids but did not and they researched their records for me as the recently rebuilt transmission has failed and I need that information for the warranty.It is nice to have a reputable service that will be there when you need them. Even if that only means that they are still there to research their records.Thanks again!Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

I try not to write a review until I've had enough interaction with a business to have a good idea of their standards, one interaction can go well or poorly, and doesn't necessarily give an overall impression. I've worked with Automotive Specialists a number of times now, on three different vehicles, and I feel confident in saying they're an honest, skilled, and highly reputable business. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Brian is a very honest mechanic and has been in the business for years. I was strapped for cash and my vehicle had a few issues including needing new tires. Rather than scam me for my money Brian recommended I go elsewhere for cheaper new tires because that was priority number one for my safety on my cross country road trip. Thankful there are still honest people around that aren t only looking out for themselves. Thanks Brian

Brought my vehicle in for an alignment, they could not perform the alignment and I was still charged a $65 "diagnostic fee". Wasn't given any written statement to the fact of a diagnostic fee. I've never had an alignment shop charge for not being able to perform an alignment. Also the front end parts quoted were several times that of what they cost at any parts store. Looking for a quick scalp, avoid this place.Service: Wheel alignment

Honest, Efficient, Reliable. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for, and he always backs up the work done. Brion and the guys have my complete trust and gratitude. I have a 1993 Honda Accord with over 300,000 miles on it. She is my "baby". I'd never still be driving it if it weren't for Automotive Specialists. Recently the blower motor on the A/C finally died. The got me in quickly and again, I am completely happy with their service, they even did a bit of "clean up" on it and the A/C works better now than it has in YEARS !!!

I recently had my T4R at A.S. for repairs and preventive maintenance - they did a very good job - no complaints there. A.S. is somewhat expensive. There are other independent garages in the area that have an excellent reputation, it may pay to shop around a bit. Brion, the owner, is a nice enough individual, but ask him questions he doesn't like he may become unpleasantly confrontational. Happened to me. When I asked him which after market parts suppliers he uses he refused to tell me. Made me curious. I then queried several other garages, including Mike at Simmons 4x4. None had a problem answering my question. I was looking for recommendations which parts stores I might like to use. I got my questions answered, but not from Brion. Jesse did a superb job working on my T4R. It is for him and his fellow technicians that I give A.S. a five star plus rating.

Brian is the real deal..he tests your vehicle to make sure what the problem is, then shows you what he found and recommends only the needed repairs. He is honest, professional, and is a rare find compared to so many places that recommend repairs based on hunches, or limited technical data, like codes being provided by auto parts store. These codes are indicative of the type of problem you have, so they are helpful, but many times can lead to repairs not needed as well. Brian relies on nothing but his own testing and honest appraisal of what is needed, I highly recommend this company for servicing your vehicle.

Brion properly diagnoses my vehicles, then explains everything to me so I can understand and provides a price to repair. He is honest and does not 'up sell' repairs. I had went to jack furrier and they did a tire rotation. A month or two later I had this awful noise when I drove. Called Automotive Specialist and they looked at it first thing the next morning after I called. Apparently when the other place did my tire rotation they forgot to tighten my lug nuts down. Thankfully this place knew exactly what was wrong. Had a oil change and was out the door. Was professional and gave me the whole run down of my car. Definitely recommend them and will be going back.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Brion has always been more than fair when it comes to pricing, always honest, and always calls if there is more going on than expected or to discuss pricing once they have determined a problem. He takes the time to explain specifics if needed. My husband and I have used them for years and often recommend them. They are the most thorough and honest we have managed to find in years.

These guys are expensive but you get your money's worth. They do a great job. I highly recommend them.Update: These guys are completely the most awesome! My wife's 1999 Ford F-150's engine finally gave out after 248k miles in November of 2019. I had nursed him along for years but I knew that sooner than later I would need major repairs. But we were not going to retire Rex, he is part of the family. We purchased him new and are keeping him forever. So it was time to re-engine. Automotive Specialists was our go to for this job. They replaced everything from the grill to the firewall. A re-manufactured engine and all the soft parts and a new starter and radiator. Yes it was almost $7000, but Rex is better than any new vehicle, almost no electronics. I remember well when he was new and I do believe that he is running better with the re-manufactured engine than when new. Rex is paid for and for the price I could not have gotten anything even close.When it comes down to the price they were no more expensive than anyone else for this job. They did a remarkable job and in less than a week Rex was back and better than new! They really are the best!
