They were friendly and very efficient. I called that morning and they got my 2011 VW Jetta in for an oil change that afternoon. I waited for it in the lobby which was very comfortable and it was ready in no time. I checked my location history and it took an hour. I was having a hard time finding a good mechanic in the Tucson area, to just do an oil change and I'm glad they showed up on my search results. Thanks!

Moving from San Diego to Illinois and needed a cooling system repair. They stayed open late for me and finished it so I could keep driving and not have to grab a hotel in Tucson and fall behind schedule. And they let me bring my pup in with me to rest and hydrate and wait. Thank you Oscar!!!

I started going here after my son took his truck in for what he thought was a serious issue with his truck. It turned out to be a simple fix. Oscar fixed the problem and sent him on his way without even charging him. WOW! Unheard of these days. I have been taking my vehicles here ever since, and am 100% satisfied. They are very professional, honest and they get your vehicle up and running in a timely manner. I would highly recommend them if you want to be treated fair, get quality work done and get a reasonable price.

Best mechanic ever. Never lies to you or upsells you on anything. Very upstanding and honest. I've had my 2005 Dodge neon repair multiple times by Oscar and I'm very satisfied each time

My Daughter goes to the UofA Tucson. I live in Minnesota. She was having car issues and me being in MN, I didn't know who to call, someone I could trust. My daughter received Advantage auto's info from an Uber driver months earlier. So, when she was having issues with her car, she mentioned she had someone that we could look into. I called and spoke with Oscar. He was awesome. He took care of everything. Explained everything and took care of her and her car. Thank you Oscar!

I had been told by a mechanic shop that I had a blown head gasket, timing faults, a bad piston, and a problem in my glow plugs when my perfectly running and cared for truck broke down, and I was facing a huge bill. I looked on google and found Advantage and gave them a call for a second opinion. I spoke with Oscar and over the phone could tell he was an expert on diesels and mine especially. He was fantastic about getting it in, he looked over the notes I had from the other shop asked the right questions and then they did there own investigation. They could have agreed with any of the issues the other shop found but instead they found the real problem, a very inexpensive fix. Instead of a $10,000 bill I got my truck a fantastic performance maintenance I asked for and fixed the issue for $1,500. Honesty, Integrity, personable, and experts in their field, why would I ever go anywhere else.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection, Auto maintenance, Oil change

I went here a long time ago but i did not leave a review. It is still owned by the same person so I assume the business is run the same and that my belated review still applies. I believe this business offers a combination of great honesty, customer focus, top-level workmanship, and fair pricing.

Excellent service didn't lie to me didn't up sell me. Thought I had a bad alternator turns out someone tried to steal it. 398 dollars ened up being 178. Not bad at all

My window slid down into my door on the way home from work today. I had called a few places, knowing it's close to closing time, and none could get me in. I had googled mechanics near me and I called Advantage expecting the same answer from them as well. Crystal was super nice and understanding, told me to bring my truck in and they would get the window secured so I didn't have to worry about it being exposed to the elements tonight. I'm grateful for them getting me in at the last minute, at the end of the day, when they were still working on other customers vehicles. Everyone was super friendly and they had me in and out of there in no time at all! Thanks again for being so cool!!!Service: Auto power window repair

We've been coming to Oscar for the last 12 years now. He's fair and honest. He's the only one I trust with my older truck and now my newer ones. He takes the time to explain things to you and why the cost is what it is. Oscar and his mechanics do really awesome work. Love this place!

Oscar and his staff are tops when it comes to honorable and reliable automotive technicians. I have had multiple bad experiences with different shops including Quebedeaux. These guys were able to diagnose and repair what others couldn't with multiple attempts. It is difficult to find a mechanic you can rely on and even more so to find honest and dedicated professionals who care. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!!!Service: A/C installation & repair

I believe I finally found an honest and reliable mechanic , for my 2004 Honda Civic. The lady at the desk there also is awesome as well. You can tell this place cares about their customers. I fully recommend this shop if you want honest mechanics and great reliable service!

I was able to call in the morning and get in the same-day for an alternator replacement. They had the parts in stock for an older car, which was great. Oscar is up-front with the customer on costs and is a pleasure to talk to/work with. They also use quality parts and have fair pricing (they were cheaper than a competitor who couldn't get me in until later in the week). They have a nice waiting area with comfortable seats if you do need to wait for your vehicle. Needing a car repair is never any fun, but Advantage Auto Repair made it as painless as possible. Thanks for getting us back on the road quickly!Quick update - have been back here for a couple of other service items (A/C recharge, strut assembly replacement) and Oscar and crew are the best. They're always responsive, stand behind their work, and get repairs done quickly. Highly recommended!

Honest, knowledgeable, and hard working mechanics can be hard to come by. At Advantage Auto Repair Roberto, Francisco, and the owner Oscar exemplified these traits and more. I could tell they enjoyed their jobs and helping people with their auto repair troubles. An authentic and genuine business is one that deserves to thrive which is why I am writing this review. We've had issues with 3 different mechanics in Tucson, so finding a mechanic we trusted was difficult. Glad we finally found Advantage Auto Repair. They call us to explain all the steps along the way and tell us a price estimate before starting to do the work. They are knowledgeable, reliable, fix things quickly, and their prices are fair. I will never take our cars to anyone else again. I did once and they messed up my car and Oscar fixed it for free just to make it right. If you ever need an honest, reliable, very good prices on mechanic work. I highly recommend Oscar s team. I do not trust anyone else. Wow where to begin? I first went to Advantage to have my radiator fixed. I already had the part and he replaced it with no problem. The price was so very reasonable. Ever since then I've been going to Advantage to have Oscar and his crew work on my aging Camry. I already knew that my last few repairs were going to be costly. Oscar provided me with information to help pay for the costs. Oscar also educated me on how certain things work in the car. His team of mechanics are very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. Advantage Auto is one of the few local businesses that is honest, hard working, providing good value with excellent customer service. I will always recommend my friends and family to Oscar (Advantage Auto).

Too bad zero stars is not an option as Advantage Auto Repair is unethical and incompetent. Soon after they replaced my car's radiator, fluid lines dislodged from the radiator while I was driving in Phoenix - necessitating a mobile mechanic and engine steam cleaning. Thereafter, Oscar refused to tell me who manufactured the radiator or where he got it. Perhaps because the radiator is of poor quality or stolen. He also foolishly defended his inability to provide parts information by saying he operates a small business and thus should not be expected to be like Firestone. Advantage Auto Repair should not be trusted.Service: General repairs & maintenance

So I'm 1500 miles from home and I end up with a collapsed lifter on my 2009 Chevy Silverado that has 190,000 miles on it. After getting some estimates for repairing that problem, I decided it was best to just switch the engine out with a new one. I contacted Oscar at Advantage Auto Repair and he returned a quote in a short while. After looking at the reviews I decided to have a look at his operation and meet him. I was impressed that his first advice was to get my vehicle home and have my local mechanic do the work. That was cost prohibitive solution, and I had a good feeling about this place. I ended up leaving my truck with Oscar, with the understanding that they would get a reman engine from Jasper and do the engine swap. I would drive another vehicle back to Idaho and return at Christmas time to pick up the Chevy. Oscar ordered the engine that day and it took about a week or 10 days to be delivered. Once they had the engine, they went right to work on the swap and by the end of the week it was running. Oscar kept me informed of the progress and sent me pictures and videos of the work. I showed up the Monday after Christmas to pick up the vehicle. It was nice and clean and ran like a top. I drove it around Tucson for a day, to make sure there were no issues, before heading off to Idaho, The truck ran flawlessly all the way back to central Idaho. I'm very happy with the work that Advantage Auto Repair did for me and I recommend them to anyone. The price was fair and done for the quoted price. I saw how they treated their customers, they got things done! I took the vehicle I was going to drive to Idaho there for an oil change and just to make sure it was road worthy before a long trip and they went the extra mile to really look into the car and make sure it would get us home. Oscar is the most honest mechanic I have come across in many years! We brought in a car that I thought needed some major air conditioning parts replacement, which was going to be very expensive. Oscar took the car and ran multiple days of diagnostics. He determined that all that was needed was a top off the the freon and leak test verification. After only paying a small fraction of the anticipated bill, we were on our way ready to cool those hot summer days ahead. This is the Best place to go for auto repairs !! I have been going for years !! Great staff !!!!! Kind and Honest !! I really enjoy just being there while getting my vitals checked !! Getting ready for a Big repair....and so glad I know my Tuck will be in good hands !! And maybe got Most of the big stuff taken care of !! My Truck is a 1998 !! She is in Great shape thanks to Oscar and his staff !!

I had Advantage Auto do a 4 wheel alignment on my 4WD SUV and am very happy with the results. Their alignment lift and equipment is impressive, and computer driven. The system tells their technicians what to adjust step by step, and I watched part of the process while standing outside the bay. I've had 4 wheel alignments done before, and it can be hit or miss with the results. Now that I'm driving it, it doesn't pull left or right. I expect tire wear to be even across my tires, and inside tread and out.Thanks to Oscar, his team, and his investments into such top notch equipment and capability. I've had them do several repairs on my vehicles, and am always pleased with the results. I recommend Advantage Auto.Bert RService: Wheel alignment

If I could give Advantage Auto Repair 10 stars I would in a heartbeat.Oscar is so incredibly professional and kind. We first came to Advantage because our AC in our Isuzu gave out. He and his crew gave her a super thorough go over and let us know what was up (the previous owner had a new blower motor installed for extremely cheap and it was done very poorly)They topped off our oil and let us know to bring her back if anything went wrong.We just brought her back because the alternator belt was slipping and we have a few oil leaks. After an hour he let us know the leaks weren't just the oil, it was also the transmission fluid and the leaks were more severe than we originally thought.We told him we were on a really tight budget and we had only planned on spending X amount.Not only did Oscar and his crew fix the most severe leaks but they replaced the belt. The job took over 24 hours, way more time and labor than they had planned and they did not charge us a dollar over our original quote. Looking over the bill, I know it would've cost well over twice as much as we planned.I absolutely recommend them to everyone I know. I'm broken hearted that we are moving out of town and can't continue coming to this shop. I adore the team here, they're extremely transparent with the cost, and the work they are performing.

Our friend recommended Advantage as the best place in town for A/C work after I was told by another shop in town that it would be $600 just to get to the problem. Hubs and I were thinking it was time for a new car.Oscar at Advantage looked it and gave us a quote right away and he work was finished the next day! The A/C is blowing COLD and we found our new shop for repairs we cannot do ourselves. I also want to mention how professional and personable Oscar and his team are - nothing but kindness. Every once in awhile you still experience what customer service is all about. It's rare in today's world, but that is what made my experience so special. I am in Tucson working on a construction project. My truck is my most important tool. I had a front wheel bearing go out big time, to the point that I was reluctant to even drive it. I searched for auto repair shops and Advantage had good reviews so I called them. Oscar was friendly, knowledgeable, and responded within minutes with a quote. Then the shocker: when can you squeeze me in? The answer: right now, will have it done in two hours. OMG! Took the truck over, true to his word, it was ready two hours later and he stuck to his bid. Cannot recommend any higher. 10 stars if they let me. Thanks, Oscar, you will be my go-to guy from here on out.Update Nov 2020- Once again Oscar comes through. My new truck needed some work, even though I live about 30 minutes away it was worthwhile to trek down to Advantage Auto. The work was performed quickly, the price was $200 less than a major chain shop. Recommend.Service: Steering & suspension repair

My family and I had traveled from Utah to Tucson where we discovered our AC wasn't working. We were here for a wedding and had much to do many errands to run. After spending an hour trying to recharge it ourselves in the 95 degree afternoon finally admitted defeat and started calling repair shops. Advantage was the first who could take us right away. I told them I was close and when we pulled up someone came out meet us and started working in it immediately. The repair bays were full but they made the time because of our situation.Our whole family was tired overheated and exhausted, but the woman at the desk led us into reclining theater seats, got the baby toys to play with and turned on the movie"Madagascar"for our other daughter. Not that you go to a repair shop for this, but the bathrooms were sparkling cleans andhad been remodeled recently.We were out of there with ice cold air conditioning less than an hour later! Great service, great repair. I couldn't have asked for more!Service: Air conditioning
