Hands down the best service and quality work in town. No matter the repair or maintenance I take my car to AASTRO. I've convinced all my friends and family and they all say the same. Any bad reviews are people who are going to be pissed no matter where they go. The quality of work, price, and service is what matters most. AASTRO has it all.

Recommended to me by a friend. One of the best recommendations I've ever received. I've been having Aastro work of my vehicles for years (since stationed at DMAFB). Excellent quality of workmanship, extremely professional, and a fair price. You won't find better service in all AZ.

The communication here is just really bad. Some charges like diagnostics are consistent and they will tell you outright what it is, which is great! I've used this shop 3 times and the diagnostic charges were always the same. But on my most recent visit I had charges for the same job vary wildly from one day to another, and they flat out lied to me about charging storage fees when cars are in the shop too long. When it came to approving or denying the repair, I asked the price of each of my options and there was a lot of beating around the bush before finally telling me the amount. Then when the repair was too expensive for me (I don't blame the shop for that, it would have been a full engine replacement which is expensive anywhere on a car that wasn't worth it) and I started working with my bank to junk the car, they started treating me like I was the enemy. I was ok with the fact a 16hr diagnostic job took 3 weeks to get follow up on, because winter holidays were involved and I don't want to rush mechanics. But Ray wanted me to really understand that he was losing $1000/day during those 3 weeks and that he felt that was my fault. When my bank started calling to make arrangements to pick up the car they didn't answer for several days. When they finally did answer, the car had conveniently already been towed to storage with a price tag of $5500 to get it out - this was over the course of under a week. At the end of the day, I was never able to get a breakdown of what they wanted to charge me to get my car back. When I asked Ray for the amounts and explanation he just wanted to tell me about how much work was done or money lost, not "We're charging this $X for JobA and $X for JobB" which just made the process way more frustrating than it needed to be. I honestly was going to change my mind about leaving this review when I thought Ray was going to do the right thing and not charge the storage fees I was directly told don't exist. But then "I'll call you back in 15 minutes" turned into.. well, I still haven't had the follow up. And the bank tells me the price went from $5500 to $1900 to the final price of $2700 and when they picked it up they tried to RAISE THE PRICE AGAIN but bank didn't let them get away with it. After all was said and done I then got an email saying I've been signed up for their rewards program, which has to be a joke right?I know this shop is capable of quality work but they are apparently not capable of providing customer service. They need to take the time to train their employees responsible for answering phones to better answer questions and mitigate issues and be willing to provide solid information, ideally in writing when requested. Jack in particular was fine to speak with, and I wish he had been given the information I needed so he could relay it to me, but he could only tell me he needed to talk to Ray about it. You shouldn't have to get all the way to the end of the process before finding out if it's going to be $1900, $2700, or $5500 which were all prices quoted to me for the exact same thing along the way! Also kind of sucks to wonder if this happened to me because I am a woman, since my last experience with the shop was when my boyfriend took his car in. Obviously the repair he got isn't going to compare in price to what my car needed, but he had a very smooth and easy customer service experience with direct pricing and nothing but respect along the way.Basically what I've learned is that to have a good experience with this shop, you need to 1.) Be a Man, 2.) Have a good idea what's wrong with your car, and 3.) Be willing to pay almost anything depending on how the mechanic is feeling.

I had called Aastro Transmission from Jim Click Ford after having my car towed to Jim Click with Transmission and A/C issues. My car sat at Jim Click Ford for several days, without my car being looked at. I went to Jim Click Ford to find out why I had not heard anything. They told me it would probably take at least a week befor they could get to it. They told me the transmission price would be $7,0000, and did not have a price for the A/C. I talked to Ray at Aastro Transmission, he told me that he could have it towed to them and they could get to it immediately. I got a call from Jack the very next morning, and told me they would have to remove the transmission to find out what was failing.Received a call from Ray the operations manager the following day with what failed and the price. Their price was $5745.00 for the transmission and the ac was just some part behind the dash and that would be $473.00.Ray told me he could have it all done in 4 to 5 days depending on parts.They called me 5 days later to let me know my car was done.They also gave me a loaner car why my car was being repaired.Their whole staff was great. This was a very good experience my husband and I felt very comfortable with Aastro and will bring any of our car repairs to them from now on. We also found out they do all vehicle repairs not just Transmissions.We both highly recommend this Aastro Transmission for any of car repairs.They made us feel really good about spending $6000.00 on our car.Thank you Aastro Transmission for such great service.

AAstro Transmission is Phenomenal with their Level of Reliability, Accuracy in diagnostics, Thorough Analysis and testing that AAstro Transmission performed on my car was Amazing! Called in to set up appointment they had me come immediately even though they are very busy . Had to have a transmission rebuild. Got it done within 1 week. Very pleased reccomend to use this place. We are very happy truck runs great

They are very friendly and helpful. The operations manager made good on his mistake and gave me a very fair price , which made me and my daughter(it was her vehicle)very happy. We very appreciative of all he had done.

I cant say enough good things about AASTRO Transmission! Our car broke down on Christmas eve in the rain at the target parking lot. I had been referred to AAstro by several people and we had our vehicle towed to the shop. Heartbroken and wet we called the shop on the way, Ray was immediately supportive and told us he would help us figure out the problem. Unfortunately, it was a large problem and major fix. Lack of this vehicle would be detrimental to our family. Ray is extremely knowledgeable and his customer service is unmatched. Ray and his great team were able to come up with solutions for us and saved the day! Thank you Ray and AAstro Transmission! I cant thank you enough for your help! We are so appreciative for AAstro to get us back on the road! You made our Christmas and New Year's! 5 stars thank you!!

The staff at the Broadway location are very professional and thorough. Making an appointment is quick and they will accommodate to help you get in. I have worked with Jack for almost a year he is knowledgeable, extremely cordial and very helpful.

I had a great experience with astro transmission. I am restoring at 64 impala convertible & I was nervous about leaving it there.. Isabelle Assured me that my convertible would be safe . I was not able to get all the work done Because some of the prices were just not realistic for my budget. Overall this was a great place to bring my 1964 Impala!

I have been a fleet manager for a while now and this is the worst shop I have ever dealt with. Tried calling multiple times for updates and they would hangup on me. Our vehicle sat there for two months until it was finally finished and then they tried to charge us storage fees because we did not pick it up when they would never answer or return my calls. Never using them again.

Reliable, high quality work. Not cheap. We have been using this Aastro for over 9 yearsEdit 8/5/2021 - Their prices are now astronomical, and since George left we believe (know) they are doing more than is recommended even for routine checkups. Adios Aastro.

JUST HAD MY 2020 SILVERADO TRANSMISSION REBULT AT AASTRO TRANSMISSIONVERY HAPPY THE DEALER COULD NOT DO THE REBUILD SO I BROUGHT HERE AND THEY REBUILT HERE.. THE WHE PROCESS WAS ALL DONE IN A WEEK. AT FIRST I THOUGHT PRICE WAS HIGH UNTIL I CALLED AROUND AND PRICE WAS GOOD. THEY EVEN GAVE ME A TOUR OF THEIR FACILITY. WHAT AN AMAIZING SHOP IT WAS DUPER CLEAN. GREAT JOB. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RHIS ACE FOR ANY AUTO REPAIR NEEDS

PREDATORS. THEY WILL PREY ON CUSTOMERS WHO DONT KNOW BETTER. The woman behind the counter is CLUELESS when pricing (needs computer prompt), their "lead tech" is technically deficient. What shop doesn't know how to work on AMERICAN CARS???? Tucson deserves better than this trash customer service and uneducated technical "ability". Any old man still turning a wrench after 60 is turning that wrench for a REASON.Service: Transmission

Staff was friendly and courteous. The cost to repair seemed high, but it was the only shop I had check out our vehicle so I can't compare. While the repairs we needed were extensive and expensive, they gave us different options, worked with us, and came to an agreeable solution. Facility is clean, customer parking in front of building could use some work though.

Based on other reviews about the wild price gouging they probably have a company policy about obscuring the cost.The receptionist couldn't even give me a ballpark estimate for the work I needed done, not even an average, just "bring it in and pay us first, then we'll see �\_( )_/�"Other shops were able to tell me "oh yeah, we just did X work on a similar vehicle and charged this amount, but if it's worse/not as bad it could be this much"The owner is combative and blames their exorbitant prices on "the covid hoax" lolShady.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! This business charged my daughter 2,300 to replace a fuel pump. It did not fix the problem and now they want to charge her 3,100 to replace her fuel tank. I told her no, absolutely not. Then they told her they would have to charge her for labor to put the fuel tank back in. I called and spoke with Adam who told me due to parts costing so much, that is why. Still doesn't sound right. I'm calling the better business bureau tomorrow. Something is not right here.

I have taken my auto to AASTRO Transmission for various problems over the last couple of years. I normally speak with George and he has been upfront and in my opinion honest with his assessment. When I thought I had an issue after one of his repairs I brought the car back and he put a mechanic right on it to check it. In one case we had an issue and he immediately resolve the issue in a professional manner. In recent times I have spoken with Emily and she took care of getting my vehicle repaired in a timely manner with not hidden surprises. I brought my vehicle in recently for a failed bearing in the AC compressor and worked with Jessica who got all the information needed and scheduled the repair and everything worked just as she promised. Are they absolutely perfect - maybe, maybe not, but for me I'll use them again but more importunately I would recommend them. When you bring your car in ask questions about the problem, obviously ask the level of complexity and cost to repair the problem, get an estimate, and stay in touch with them during the repair process. Once you pick up your vehicle make sure everything works the way you expect it and remember to bring it back for the 2 week checkup. Remember this checkup is your responsible not AASTRO'. Need work done give them a shot you will be pleasantly surprised but remember George and his team do quality work but not cheap work. If you want cheap go somewhere else.

My niece took in my elderly mother's car(2000 Ford Taurus)for an estimate on air conditioning service and check engine light. The diagnostic charge was $180.00 dollars and they quoted $ 4000.00 in repairs. After our reaction of disbelief, the manager said he could " magically "lower the price to approximately $ 3000.00. This was wrong and extortion on what the problem was, and I picked up the vehicle. They were easy to give back the car, an quick to charge the $ 180.00 dollars for nothing they did. I am very Unhappy at this attempted extortion, and will tell as many people as I can about this unfortunate experience at Aastro transmission on Broadway.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We brought our truck to get the clutch fixed and they couldn t even do that when we wanted to towed our truck somewhere else they did not return our truck to us until we paid so called labor chargesDO NOT GO THIS SHOP

Lost reverse on transmission after 40 miles. Now they claim no warranty for high HP motor, but never replaced reverse servo. Kept blaming linkage which they adjusted and when i opened up transmission pan the reverse servo was the issue. They tried to get another 300 for diagnostocs and just to tell me no warranty.. 0 stars should be an option here. They also did not use performance parts, and will not disclose the brand actually used. Beware of this place go anywhere else you will be better off for it.Service: Transmission

Not worth the time to explain.. zero stars. Call around and get several quotes. As a response to the owner we have talked. You know what's wrong. Tired of giving you money and hearing excuses.

These guys are really good. I don't say that lightly. They tell you exactly what's going on with your vehicle and don't try to scam you on pricing like some other places I've been too. The staff is very knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and will definitely make sure your vehicle is working right. I've been going to AASTRO for a long time now and they always take care of me like I'm one of their best friends and I always get the VIP treatment. I would definitely recommend going to these guys for any mechanical work that needs to be done to your car no matter how big or how small. You'll definitely get the best service from these guys.

Best customer service ever! My husband and I left our car in professional hands without doubt. Our car needed a transmission rebuild and new computer (Toyota RAV4 2001).. At the time of payment I experienced many issues with my credit card to make a payment and they understood, and had the patience to wait so I could fix that issue with my bank (took 4 days). After repair everything they give us a complimentary car wash!! That was awesome, thank you George, Jessica and Emily you rule guys!... definitely if you need to repair your car, great customer service and more and beyond, this is the place to go!!!!

My experience was positive. I found George, the manager, and Jessica, the customer service representative, to be courteous, professional and thorough. I am not a car person but I believe their staff to be experienced and professional. George is particularly good at keeping you informed on the status of your repair. You don't have to keep calling him to find out what's happening, George calls you. The level of customer service is very high. This level of customer service comes with a price. In my case, approximately 15% more than than Ford dealership.

This shop is amazing. It provides better than dealer quality work for my vehicle. I brought my 2003 4runner for complex transfer gear assembly where they were instrumental in accomplishing this job with such precision. My attraction is they stand behind their work and offer extensive checks and monitor as well as focusing on repairing any other issues that may cause the problem itself. George and Gloria as well other folks in the office are true professionals. They treated my vehicle as their own. I can not believe that I am writing such a review which really sounds quite over done, but it really is what happened this time around for me. Now both my vehicles go to them with such comfort. They stand by what they do.
