Prior to purchasing my 2017 Porsche Cayman, McIlvain performed a pre-purchase inspection on the vehicle. I was so impressed with how thorough and detailed they were, when I needed 40k service I already knew I'd be taking it back to McIlvain. Scott and Christina addressed all my concerns and performed the service and repairs in a timely manner. They kept me updated along the way and exceeded my expectations. I live in Seattle and purchased a used Porsche Cayman S from a dealer in Tempe AZ. I needed a Porsche specialist firm to do a pre-purchase inspection of the Cayman. McIlvain did a thorough examination of the car and gave me a detailed written and verbal report. They identified a number of maintenance issues that I wanted addressed before shipping the car to Seattle. McIlvain and I worked out a detailed work order list and then McIlvain implemented those. The cost of this work was roughly 25% of the purchase price of the car. McIlvain did a good job of keeping me informed of the work progress and confirmed my choice of replacement tires. McIlvain was transparent, trustworthy and prompt. Making a large purchase remotely requires a high level of trust and confidence in those you work with. McIlvain is just such a firm.

Everyone at Mcilvain Motors was so kind and helpful, from Carol who made my appointments, to Scott, who worked on my car. I would give their customer service a 10+, they always went out of their way to help.I highly recommend them if you have a Porsche that needs any kind of work done. I have the utmost respect, trust, and appreciation for Mcilvain Motors!

I contacted Mcilvain Motors to conduct a PPI and a Bore Scoring analysis on a Porsche 911 4S. Not only were they fantastic to work with but Scott spent 45 minutes with me on the phone going over the PPI photos. It was if I received a Grad Level college course on the Porsche 911. Would have no problem working with them again. Thank you Neal Manecke

I have a new to me, 1999 911 Carrara convertible - it is in great shape but Scott and his team at McIlvain made it just that much better. They gave it a complete tune-up, changed out one of the mufflers, fixed the rag-top mechanism and got the blinker turn-off apparatus back working like it should be. No more oil leak either. This car is made for speed and Scott, Darryl and Christina have it back in shape like is was 25 years ago. I'm headed off to the track with confidence now. I have a '89 944S2 Coupe. After reading many of the reviews and responses I gave McIlvain a call. Had a quick but very pleasant chat with them. I didn't use McIlvain, but I am leaving this review because they quickly and HONESTLY said they don't work on 944s. That kind of honesty is greatly appreciated by most Porsche people. They highly recommended a different shop that I will be taking my weekend ride to next week.

Mcilvain Motors did a great job with my Porsche Panamera. Quick to get me in. Provided a ride to and from my home (much appreciated). Took extra effort to return the car to me before the weekend started. They did the work for the quoted price. This was a 30,000 mile general service.

I have had my 996 Turbo serviced at Mcilvain since I acquired the car about 3 years ago, and could not be happier with the service I receive. I recently had a major service to replace the clutch, slave cylinder, brake rotors/pads, and some elective work to pin the coolant lines. Scott and Carol are responsive, communicative, and experts at guiding me to make the best decisions on parts for the way I plan to drive the car both at the track, and as a weekend driver! Excellent work - highly recommend!

I live in NJ, but just bought a 997.1 C2S in Tempe.Before I did, I got a PPI at McIlvain Motors and Scott and his team did an excellent job. I highly recommend them.Not only were they thorough (including scoping the cylinders and cutting the oil filter), they took video and pictures of everything and then Scott got on the phone with me and we went through each bit one at a time. Each area of the car, each nick on the paint, each screen from the very deep diagnostic they ran, including over revs and the performance of the intermediate shaft (an indicator of IMS bearing health). These guys know Porsches down to the .1 and .2's and all the little things to look out for.Scott even drove the car for the day and reported back on the strength of the engine, the status of the suspension and engine mounts, and even if the heated seats and interior lights work.In the end, I had a very clear idea of the condition of the car and could purchase with complete confidence, which I did.But it didn't stop there. I asked Scott to replace the water pump and do a couple of other little jobs to basically complete the 60k maintenance on the car so it was all set when I received it. They did it all and their prices were very fair.AND THEN they kept the car garaged for me for 11 days while the seller arranged transport. They even removed a decal the selling dealer had left on the car.All told, total class, very communicative, easy to work with, and generally great guys.I cannot recommend them highly enough for Porsche repairs or PPI work.

This is top of the line customer auto repair and service that saves you money and provides you quality Porsche parts, service and repair. Carol in the front office is prompt, friendly , informed and the technicians take time to converse and explain the what and why. I had brakes replaced and full 40k service completed on My Macan S that saved me at least 40% compared to Porsche dealership. We have always had the best service when we have taken our car for service work. The staff is so professional and will answer any questions and take their time to explain what they have done. We would highly recommend them for all your Porsche needs. McIlvain KNOWS Porsches! I've used them for annual maintenance, brake replacement, PDK service and that all time favorite Check Engine light. I had a transmission scare that Scott traced back to a battery issue of all things. You can get appointments within days, not weeks. Estimates are quick and thorough. If you have questions, your mechanic will speak with you directly; no service advisor summing it up and passing it on. Honest, friendly, knowledgeable, priced fairly.There is a Porsche dealership 5 minutes from my house, but I choose to drive the extra 20 to get to McIlvain Motors.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Great service and communication. I had Scott replace my clutch, RMS and IMS bearing as well as rebuild my driveshafts. Work was done fast and he took the time to show me the worn parts after is was all done. Absolutely FANTASTIC! Carol is awesome and the person that worked on my car was also amazing! Unfortunately I don't have his name but his initials on the bill are NH. As long as I own a Porsche they will do the work.If I could give them more than 5 stars I would ! Great waiting area as well. Loved the pinball option! Can't say enough about this place as a repair shop, great customer service and wonderful tire references as well!Keep up the great work!

My HistoryOk, we all look and take a chances on shops that we don't know for the first time, we read reviews and if you know someone that takes there car to that shop we make our decision. I bought my 997 Cs going on 3 years now, with 100k miles, great shape runs great but need more power, did my first dyno @ goodspeed 357hp @ 7k RPM 119 MPH. I did all add on from FABSPEED and got it Tuned Now that's Power.. Blew up engine on the 101 won't tell you how.. Met Stott and Ben while looking for a engine and liked what i saw, Scott gave me choices also the internet. We found a used engine with 49k miles from a 07. litter did they( Scott and Ben) known of me i can hold my own with wrenches. I weighed my time and value and it was a no brainer, Four weeks after engine arrived i am driving. Car has more power now than before i can feel it. Second week put the car on the lift to see what it looks like and liked what i saw. I can call and talk to Scott or Ben and ask questions at any time, like that. Ok How fast am i now dying to know, Scott said Dyno not that good for engine and i said ok. What the hell it is only $$. 405 @ 7K @ 139, sorry Scott had to know. Any one reading this, take a chance you will see what i saw the first time. If anyone owns a Porsche in Arizona, I highly recommend Scott McIlvain. His workshop does excellent work for a fair price. They do everything including engine rebuilds. Most of his technicians were former Porsche techs. Very professional, friendly and just an overall great guy with a great crew. Carol is his office manager and she is very prompt, responsive and knowledgeable

I had significant damage to the undercarriage of my Porsche Macan the took about 6 weeks to fully repair, diagnose, and repair again. They were thorough and wanted to make sure they got it right through every step of the process. The team at McIlvain kept me updated the entire time and worked directly with my insurance carrier to get all the details taken care of. Highly, highly recommend!

Scott and his technicians are highly trained in all models of Porsche repairs. I brought my car in, and it was diagnosed and repaired quickly the first time. When I called, they said bring it in the next day and they started on it immediately. I had been looking for a reputable repair shop for my Porsche Macan. Through a recommendation from a close friend, I discovered Mcilvain Motors. I could not have been more happy! I was greeted by the friendly staff upon arrival and was given a tour of the repair area in the garage. They provided estimates up front and completely transparent on pricing and repairs. The service was explained to me as well as when services would be due in the future. They are clearly experts on all things Porche. I live in California and have a second home in Scottsdale. My "Condo-car" is a 2011 Porsche Cayenne. The first time my car needed work, I called the dealership and couldn't get an appointment for weeks - not good enough for my schedule. I called Mcilvain Motors and explained my situation to Scott - I could leave the car as long as he needs, but when finished, it could be a week or two before I could pick it up. "No problem" he said, "bring it over and I'll have a look". When I showed up, he plugged in a computer and had my engine problem diagnosed in a few seconds. I left the car there. They stayed in touch with email and they stored the car for 10 days after the work was done. When I picked it up, it ran like a new car. The fees were reasonable. I brought the vehicle back two years later for a steering issue and I got the same treatment. I can't imagine better service.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Engine repair

I've been going to Scott with my 987 for 3 years now and the service is phenomenal. Not only are Scott and the mechanics extremely knowledgeable with a wide array of Porsche models but they will also take time to explain everything in detail which I really appreciate as an engineer. Honest, very responsive to calls, excellent customer service, and work is performed quickly and always meets schedule. The folks at Mcilvain were a pleasure to work with. After bringing my Porsche to several dealerships/service centers and being told I need a needed a new motor, I brought my car to Mcilvain. They trouble shot the issue more intently and were able to repair the motor saving me tens of thousands of dollars. They did it fast and communicated progress daily.
