We were referred to this place from another business as we were on the move looking to have a frozen hub removed off our quad axle. My son and I weekend project.First, the place is super clean...great first impression.Second, the front desk guys are nice people, helpful, patient. You get the feeling they actually want to help and like their field of service..that reflects a healthy atmosphere and work environment.Third, they show support for local law enforcement. Can't miss the flag flying outside and the one on the wall inside. And appreciation plaques on the wall.Fourth, the owner grabbed the quad axle went in the back and removed the hub and didn't ask for anything in return. He was willing to help no charge. Also it says a lot that the owner is that involved in the day to day grind of the business.

We brought our motorhome to Champs because they were the only shop nearby that could work on that size vehicle. I m so glad we did! They did a great job and communicated with us every step of the way. If you have a large vehicle or diesel vehicle - look no further! This is the place.

I took my teenage sons 18 year old mustang convertible to Champ to fix the AC, cause we all know how important AC is in Arizona. The techs were very diligent in the search and cause of the problem not to mention quick in getting it repaired and back on the road at minimal expense. They also pointed out something to keep eyes on for possible need of repair down the road. It's nice to have someone who is honest in what needs to be done now or not. I do all of my own automotive repairs but brought my classic car in that I recently acquired for an alignment due to the specialized equipment typically required to do alignment. I agreed to their fair cost of alignment but I was upset at the cost of an added part and associated labor when they found a stripped adjustment bolt. Honestly just Sticker Shock for the labor and on the part price markup, as I said before I typically do all my own work and source my own parts. I decided to just bring the car home and do my own at-home alignment. I got a call from the shop while on my way to pick it up and they found a solution that worked without any additional expenses. They performed the alignment and the car drives fantastic! I d like to commend them for taking care of their customer and will recommend them to friends and those who don t turn their own wrenches! I am impressed with this small shop. The workers are friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable and fair. They will not pressure you or try to use scare tactics. They give you the information, and let you decide what you want to do with it.They replaced my rack-and-pinion on my Ford F-150. Not only did they give me the best deal after shopping around, they also honor military and veterans with a service discount, and they gave me the option of purchasing the parts myself through a third party and they perform the work. They work with insurance and out-of-pocket. They keep you informed of the work, your options, and do not perform any work without prior approval. While they were doing the work they noticed another small item that needed attention. They called me and asked if I wanted them to take care of it. I approved, and they did that also... only charging me for the part and no additional service fee since they were already in there.I feel like I've found a go-to place, and they will be getting more of my business for my vehicle needs. I feel comfortable recommending this place to my friends and family.

This was our first time here and we were thoroughly impressed. Very, very nice and helpful people. They worked super hard to get our motorhome done , even though we had the wrong day. We would definitely recommend Champs and will be definitely using them again. They also had very fair prices and didn't try to fix something that could was until next time. I found Champs & liked the reviews I read @ customers that owned Lexus's & had repairs done at Champs. Mine is a 2000 RX300 & they keep her running great! I love how nice & clean the Shop is & all the super cute Service Agents & Mechanics are very friendly, helpful & so knowledgeable @ every question I had. They have done their best to schedule my appointments & have her ready as soon as they could & give me decent prices. I'm so happy to have this Shop & these Fellas! Keep up the good work!

The 1st time I experienced Champs Family Automotive was about 1 yr ago when my engine died out on the road not far from their Surprise shop. A police officer suggested that I have my car towed there. The shop was closed at that time, but the very next morning they called asking me what happened to my car. I told them the engine light ! Was on, they called me letting me know what was wrong with my car sending pictures and showing me step by step what was needed for repairs, etc. A couple days later I drove out of there with my car running much better than it had in years...Been going back ever since! The people are nice, but after bring in our company vehicle to fix some emissions issues, we picked out truck up and were told it was fixed. The next day the check engine light came back on for one of the 3 codes that we originally brought it in for. We had to wait a week for a new appointment to bring it in. When we bring it in the second time, they say it's going to be a two to three day turnaround to have it fixed. They then had it for over a week. We get it back, now having spent just shy of $4000. Next day, the same check engine light code comes back on. They told us to bring it back in, but we took it to another shop and had the issue resolved the next day.

Beware, this place is ripping you off. If you have had work done here you better take it to someone and have it inspected bring your receipts. This look like a new belt. 103$ plus labor for a 40 dollar belt. More to come as I contact the appropriate people.

SO LUCKY I FOUND THIS PLACE. I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR OVER 6 YEARS. CHAMPS IS THE ONLY SHOP I TRUST. THEY HAVE KEPT MY WELDING RIG RUNNING GREAT AND TRY VERY HARD TO GET ME BACK OUT IN THE FEILD. To start, my level of mechanical understanding is savvy enough to do most work myself. When it's beyond my skills or willingness to perform major maintenance, I generally pass my beloved vehicles to someone I trust. That Trust is hard earned, and I will say Champs of Surprise has mine! They've worked on my nearly 30 year old vehicle as well as my newer 13 year old one and in both cases, I walked away completely happy! Great Job Guys! If I could give zero stars, I would. I m finding we are not the only people that this has happened to.Champs is a rip off, a bunch of scam artists. Charged us $6k for a performance transmission rebuild. 14k mi later, trans went out AGAIN. They didn t use the parts they said they were going to use and the person who worked with my husband no longer works there, so Champ will not honor what we were told. Without even looking at it, said it would be atleast $6k more for another rebuild how does a completely rebuilt transmission go out after 14k miles when a stock trans lasted over 70k. Champ will not stand behind his work; even had the audacity to send a follow-up text asking how our visit was.Service: Transmission

UPDATE: June 2023 - Like every prior visit: on time, thorough, fairly priced. In other words, why I keep coming back. I have a 2008 Honda FIT that has 150,000+ miles on and runs like a top!AROUND 2015 a friend recommended I go to Champs for an estimate after I got a maintenance estimate of about $2000 from my dealer. Champ s estimate was about $1400. I opted for Champs and have been going back there ever since. Champs offers FAIR & VERY COMPETITIVE PRICES and THOROUGHLY SKILLED AUTO MECHANICS. Importantly they do just what needs to be done with no added surprises.2022 UPDATE: Champs comes through AGAIN. A critical sensor had failed when I tried to start my car which was in a parking space outside of my doctor's office. I had to be towed to Champs. Champs was heavily booked with appointments, but they fit me in. Never again will I ever go there even after all the times I been there and told others to go, i had fuel filter changed there in past and brought my own filter 90 bucks plus not bad I go there today thinking might have went up 10% no biggy been here before...274 dollars even with my own filter, had to pay they wouldnt budge even after I told them i called Sands chevrolet and they want 72 bucks plus shop supplies if i brought my own filter. Service manager still didnt care and dealer and Champs was the only place i ever went for diesel service Never ever again ever will i go there!!

When I arrived, I drove around the building and found the shop to be very neat and clean. It was clear this was a busy place. Mechanics all appeared focused on the work.Walking into the office, I found it to be clean and welcoming. John checked me in for my 9:30 appointment and listened to my concerns. I felt this to be a really professional shop.Work to be completed; Tire rotation, alignment, and a minor exhaust repair.They would call when it was ready.It was about 6 hours before I heard from John, stating there was an added step necessary before the alignment could be completed. He provided a quote and said he'd call when it was ready. I called back at 5 pm. to inquire about the status of my vehicle. I learned the mechanic was having some struggles, and it would not be completed. They will call when it was ready the next day. I checked back the next day at 1 pm. It was not ready. They will call. At 5 p.m., I called to check the status, knowing they closed at 5:30, and I would need at least 20 minutes to get there. Again, they will call. 5:20 pm I got the call it was ready. John said he would wait until I arrived.When I arrived at 5:45, John went over everything they did, explained what the delay was in detail, and the bill was exactly what was quoted, in spite of the fact the job took longer.I feel that two full days to get this work done was somewhat excessive, but having been an automotive service writer, I fully understand that it's not always a simple fix.John maintained his professionalism at all times and never made me feel like I was a bother or like he was being dishonest.It was refreshing to experience that.Thank you

I just got my vehicle back from getting an alignment. It is wonderful! We live on harsh dirt roads so it was pretty bad - last year we had this same service done with a company very near this location... and I got my vehicle back with a very crooked steering wheel. It was so frustrating. Not here - My steering wheel is perfectly straight and comfortable. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thank you so much!Service: Wheel alignment

Here is the context:I have a 2004 Chevy Colorado with over 200k miles. It began having decreased engine power. It sat for a month in the heat, so I suspected maybe the fuel inside the motor went bad and clogged up the injector system. I requested a fuel system flush, and specifically told them not to do the diagnostic.Once I got my vehicle over to them, a day went by and they did their thing. Brandt called me and said once he heard how my truck was running, he knew that a fuel system flush was not what it needed. He made the executive decision to go against my request and did the diagnostic anyways. And I am sure glad he did!! Turns out my truck needed new ignition coils, spark plugs and ignition coil gaskets. Brandt also did me a favor and split the diagnostic fee with me (50% off).OUTSTANDING SERVICE, HONESTY AND PROFESSIONALISM!!!!!I approved the work. Next day my truck was back in my hands.I wish every shop was like this. This is how it should be done. Always. Customer service and honesty are the #1 priorities. I have taken three of my vehicles to this place. Every time they have done great work in a timely manner. The last vehicle they worked on for me was my Ford Edge. The A/C stopped working and they were able to fix it quickly and at a reasonable price. I definitely recommend this shop.

Our 5th wheel was at the RV repair shop for 8 days they found nothing wrong with the brakes. My husband was sure something was wrong. We took it to Champs and they found the problem in under an hour and had it fixed in 3 hrs. We just took the 5th wheel to Florida and had no problems with the brakes. Thank you so so much!! Been to Champs Surprise 3 times and dealt with service writer Brandt each time. This guy knows the meaning of quality customer service. No, he's not related and I've never met him before this! He's super friendly and his listening and communication skills are exemplary. He is now my go-to contact whenever I need help. Give Champs just one try and you may just change repair shops.UPDATE: Back to Champs again for regular maintenance. Usually work with Brandt but Jim was the go-to guy this time. Simple, routine maintenance this go around, nothing complex. Easy in, easy out, and easy on the wallet. I did ask if Champs ever runs any seasonal specials and another younger gentleman sitting behind Jim chimed-in (rather defensively) and made it crystal clear that they're not in business to go out of business, so no specials. Heck, it was just a question. I run a much bigger business and these questions are not unusual. I never try to get something for nothing or negotiate on a repair, but all in all, another good experience with Champs.Service: Transmission
