This hotel is in the process of being renovated. It could be a very nice hotel. The biggest problem was the lack of customer service. There is hardly ever anyone at the desk. During breakfast there is not anyone overseeing the items to make sure there is enough. The staff stays in the back where you can t see them, so it s hard to get refills. Our first room had to be changed, because it wasn t clean. The second room did not have a do not disturb sign for when you left. All in all there is so much potential with a little initiative.

TL;DR version: it's a construction zone with poor customer service and a broken bed and non suite-suites. But the room is pretty.**Edit"**this morning there were workers on our balcony as we were sitting in the room. We've stayed at this hotel several times over the last several years. It's been doing renovations for at least the past 4. But we come back because it's affordable and it has a nice 1 bedroom suite. Or at least it did i don't think we'll be back.First of all, as I said, the hotel is under major renovations so the parking lot is a mess and difficult to navigate, especially with a large truck and trailer. The "lobby" is clean but the way to the elevator makes you feel like you shouldn't be there because of the construction. The lady who checked us in was very nice and friendly but anyone else we've dealt with has been borderline rude acting as if they're doing us a favor by answering questions or getting an extra blanket. And that's if you can find them. This was the first time we'd gotten a renovated room and it's beautiful, but I'd booked a suite as I always do, and was expecting a separate bedroom, as we always get. I came down to do some work and was looking forward to a somewhat comfortable couch to sit on. That's not what we got. At all. There isn't even a separate seating area. There's a bed (which I'll get to later) and a desk with a chair. I think there's supposed to be one, because there's a large empty area with a random table and lamp. No where else to sit. In a suite. When I asked about it at the front desk i was told they got rid of those rooms during the renovation. I told her i was at least expecting a separate seating area and she told me that i could get a larger room for an additional $100 a night. I've been to this hotel many times. I thought i know what i was booking... Which was the biggest room in the hotel. Nope. I'm not sure if she even apologized. This is getting long so I'll just make a list of the rest of the issues. The bed was comfy when I were first sat on it but it clicked after the first night and now it has a giant crater in the middle. And since there's no where else to sit I'm stuck in it.The shower is the size of a yoga mat.The shower doors won't stay closedThe a/c doesn't work very well. The room has a balcony but it's "out of order" (probably cuz they're painting to hotel) so can't get any fresh air. The "view" is of construction materialsThe floors are hard and cold. The cable is antiquated and low quality.Don't know about the food. It's been good in the past but i can't eat it now because of food allergies.Mini fridge is somewhat cold. No freezer. It's nice and quiet. They did let us check in early which was nice. The parking lot has a crater you have to drive through since half the lot is blocked off.The Wi-Fi gives me a security warning when I tried to log in, so didn't use it.All in all, a disappointing experience. We've tolerated a lot over the years we've been coming because of the big suite and price, but those are gone so there's no reason to return. There are plenty of other hotels in town.Rooms: Pretty but with broken bed, tiny shower, antiquated cable TV,and unusable balcony.Noteworthy details: Construction zone. I'm sure it'll be nice when it's done... If it ever gets done. Is been nearly 4 years that they've been doing renovations.

Got this room as a hidden deal on priceline. Place is under massive reconstruction. It was a nice stay but it was a construction zone, even the rooms were in some state of repair, though it was still safe and quiet while we stayed the night there. It wasn't anything nice to look at but I'm sure It will look awesome when done.Food was standard but very good, just make shift seating due to construction.Rooms were clean and had everything we needed.I can't wait to go back when it is all done with constructionNoteworthy details: Place is under massive reconstruction. The hotel is under renovation at least the lobby. Looks like it has been for a while though. The room we had needed to be updated from 1990 and the hallway too. Worst thing went to check out the breakfast and saw a mouse run off when I was looking at it. Told the front desk.Noteworthy details: Needs better pillows and mattress was okay

My husband is handicapped and I asked for a guarantee of a first floor room when I called to make reservations several days ahead of time. She told me they couldn't guarantee that. They could only see what was available when we arrived. I was at a hotel once that had a fire so I never want to be on an upper floor. You can't use elevators during a fire and wheelchairs can't go down steps. We did get to the hotel early in the afternoon so we got a ground level room but I don't understand why they couldn't assign that when I made the reservation with a credit card.

Stayed here, because of the listing in Bonvoy. Come to find out, it's bought out. We had a problem with the toilet, when we came to the room. It started flooding. We called front desk, who called maintenance. They never came. We shut the water valve. It kept leaking, and the valve would not shut water off, completely. The flapper ball, and float kept giving the toilet water. Two hours later, called the front desk. They said they couldn't get maintenance. I borrowed a plunger from housekeeping, but the toilet wasn't clogged. I adjusted the float, and flapper, and told the front desk what was needed. Maintenance never came. Other things wrong; the guest laundry machines were messed up, . soap dispenser took our money, and our room was very dusty. Breakfast is good, if you go early. Otherwise, they run out. Front desk was polite. Bath tub was scaled, and wouldn't drain. However, when we told our housekeeper, she corrected it. Overall, I would rate service very low, and cleanliness low as well. I stayed because my company used Marriott, as our corporate service, with discount. I wouldn't classify this motel in the same category.

When this hotel was built in 1983, it was a pretty high class deal for Safford. This was my first time staying there and I felt like I was in a time machine. My room was definitely 80s designed. The age on the desk and other furniture pieces was a neon light, but the furniture has held up well the last 40 years. The bathroom cabinets and tile were also screaming please help me. One of the windows would not close all the way so it whistled all night. I was curious as to why there were no trash bags in the waste baskets. I would rather twist up a bag than wash a nasty trash can that's for sure. But the hotel is currently going thru a much needed renovation that's been a long time coming. I will definitely book a room there for one of my weekend getaways when the renovation is completed.

This is one of the most ratchet hotels I ve ever stayed at. If it weren t for the friendly staff and the pool/hot tub, this place would ve had the absolute worst accommodations. From the parking lot to the hallways, everything is falling apart. The light in my room flickers with a ghastly Morse code rhythm. Cleaning staff comes into your room even when you have the do not disturb sign hanging on your door. Waffle machines overcook the waffles. Eggs are . Half the hotel is under construction. Elevator stopped working. TV is a blurry, static mess. Staff are friendly, but I never see anyone at the front desk as I m coming and going, which is pretty poor form in the hospitality industry.I know the options in Safford are limited. The only redeeming quality here are the indoor pool and hot tub. But if those aren t of interest to you, I d pass on this shit hole.

The first room we got, the fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling with wires, and the refrigerator didn't work, the second room was fine. The place was under renovation, an eye sore, an near the elevator the rug was loose, my husband and I tripped on it twice, we are seniors. Do you think they would offer a good discount for the condition this place was in? NOPE! Never go here again.Food & drinks: The scrambled eggs were dry, the sausage was shrivelled up and over cooked.

The unique and quaint theme of construction site is unmistakable as you walk from the lobby through unfinished drywall that has been sitting this way for what seems at least a year.Don t miss the unforgettable experience of what if feels like to be peed on, with shower heads that flow at gallons per day instead of per hour. The charm of early parenthood and unsuccessful diaper changings, is perfectly re-created for guests. Your skin will glow (mostly red) when you step out and exfoliate with their 60 grit towels.

MOUSE!!! probably MICE!!!!A mouse ran across the floor in our room in the morning when we're getting up, and we belive when we saw it again it was a good possibility this was a second one!!!I went and told the front desk, and she says we'll put you in another room, oh wait guys are checking out today... let me go talk to room service to remove the mouse?!She comes back and she states "our manager Crystal said she would take care of it." Whais that supposed to mean?!?! Crystal can't come talk to the customer to fix the problem??? Not a bug, not a spider, but a MOUSE!!!!Then the co worker says, "you want me to go catch it?" And laughs!!! Like this is a joke? This is nasty lady!!!These people already charged me over $179 for the room which was wayyyyy over priced especially since the whole place is in disarray with construction going on. The room was put together with old furniture that was clearly worn out and a smaller TV then what's in most hotel rooms. We gathered our bags and left!!!! Completely grossed out. Before this I had woken up early to go check out their breakfast and the sausage looked so "sad" like it had literally been sitting there since the day before.READ THE REVIEWS!!! THIS PLACE IS GREEDY AND CARELESS!!!I will be reaching out to the health department later today to notify them of this properties negligence and lack of care, to remedy this situation.Rooms: Old worn downSafety: MiceCareless, greedy, managerNoteworthy details: MiceCareless, greedy, manager

Gross. Room smelled like it hadn t been cleaned ever and it was 90 degrees in our room when we got there. Gross stains all over the carpet and chair. Faucet was leaking all night. Booked a 2 queen room online but they gave it to someone else so we got a 1 king room instead. Asked for a cot or mattress to make up for the missing bed but they didn t have one. We re not very picky about hotels but this was nasty. Girl up front was pleasant and apologetic.

Beware. All the women at this location lie about the rate and "Incidental Deposit" they say the rate is 1 price and they add$50 or $100 to the rate and tell you it will be deducted off the price before charging to your credit card. The TV has poor reception. The breakfast buffet is terrible. The rooms aren't clean. You should avoid this place. There is a reason why all the other motels are full in Safford and Thatcher andThe Baymont has lots of rooms. They rip you off. They are programmed to tell you, "It was a misunderstanding"They have your money, no way of getting it back.
