I only take my cars to Ortega's Auto Repair. They are competent and honest, never trying to upsell or fix things that don't need to be fixed. Reasonable prices too. They are great!!

For years I have taken my cars here, they have the best prices and are extremely flexible. Only down side is that you need to do the follow ups to see what status your car is but that s not too bad since they are always friendly!

This place used to be reliable. I took in my vehicle for a coolant leak. They say they will need a day to look at it and call back, understandable. Took it Wednesday , it's Monday. I call to get an update. They say they haven't looked at it yet. No call or anything. This place is definitely not worth the hassle

To start this place honestly did surpass my expectations and I m glad they did. They not only fixed the issue I had, but showed much genuine honest service I ve ever had. Don t be fooled by the look of the place, they are professionals and will solve your issue or at least give their honest opinion in which is not easy to find these days. I will bring my car back in the future if I ever need to. Thanks Ortegas, you all are very much appreciated. Especially David, he was very helpful. When I first started bringing my car here everything was good, I trusted them until this last time I took it for an oil change my car started over heating, my car had no issues going in and it came out worse then when I took it in. The owner mechanic even said that he had checked everything that everything looked normal that he had checked the head gaskets and that everything was normal. Well the problem was still there I took it back like 3 times because nothing was making sense, and now they say is the head gaskets so that raised a red flag because how are you going to tell me that everything is fine and now is the head gasket. I m not the only one with this issue I also have a friend that the same thing happened with her. Now I have to replace my motor because of their error. I feel like they fix one thing but mess up another one so you can come back and charge you more or double. Never again will I come here. They will get sued.Service: Oil change

I am a loyal customer of Ortega's Auto repair. For the last 5+ years No one has or will work on my vehicle. They stand behind there work and among the most fair in regards to price. I repeat no one else will work on my vehicle. And I recommend their service to my friends and family.

Amazing work and a great family business to stand behind here in South Phoenix! I went to three different mechanics that wanted to charge me a high price. Came down to this family owned business and they fixed the issues for half the price. They told me what was going on every step of the way, and if something didn t make sense. They would explain it to me again before going forward.

Brought it in for oil change and some ac/heater work for a trip my family was taking. They didn t fix my ac/heater and, when changing my oil and checking fluids, my mechanic forgot to tighten the radiator cap. This problem caused my truck to overheat and cause major damage to my engine. When I called the owner of shop, he was rude and blamed me for issue.. This isn t the first issue my family and friends are having. The quality of work and parts have gone down. My truck will never be the same and I am out a lot of money. They did a great job on fixing my heater core in my F150. They were the only shop to do it at the cheapest price and did not cut corners. They did not try and use mechanic tactics to make the cost higher than what was quoted. I really appreciate all the guys honest work that was done and will continue to go back for anything that needs to be done for my truck. Glad to finally find honest hardworking people.

Honest mechanics, they won't tell or pressure you to fix what doesn't need to be fixed. They also do body work that will make your car look brand new again. I've taken all my cars there over the past 8 years and recommend them to all my family and friends. Great service and very friendly, but most importantly all the mechanical and body work is done at a fraction of the price you'll find anywhere else. Definitely a gem here in Phoenix.

I highly recommend Ortega's to anyone looking in the Phoenix area. They saved me when my car started to act up halfway through my cross country road trip. I had two problems that seemed like they'd need big, expensive fixes but it ended up being really cheap. They could have taken advantage of my knowledge and charged for a lot more than was necessary but were extremely caring and sent me on my way with less than $50 spent. They even stopped eating their lunch to help me since I was short on time.

Dropped car iff for an oil change, air filter and to check brakes. I barely made it home and they were calling to let me know it was done and ready for pick up. I noticed the difference right away. Great job!

2 different dealerships told me 2 different issues both over $1000. Ortega s said it was a different issue 340.00 later my car ran better than it ever has!!! I am over the top happy with them.

The owner is a sweet gentlemen who does his best to explain and help me understand what issues I have with my car. Really happy with the work they do. Only place in Phoenix I ll take any of my vehicles.

My SUV now runs smooth as butter. The owner & his reps were honest & amazing. Instead of charging me for a certain repair the owner called me about a Recall that my vehicle had. I'll never go anywhere else

Mr. Ortega is always friendly, honest, and professional. So is his son. They explain to you what the problem is with your car and how it can happen. They educate you! I love that!

I was referred to from John from Vans moving Co. Ortega's for their honesty and good work. For being a lady & being new to the area, I was giving up.After 5 mechanic's working on my car they were the only ones that was honest with me and found the problem with my car. And wanting to fix it. And also said if they found anything else wrong they would call inform me. WOW THANK YOU.I'M GOING THEIR WITH ALL MY WORK,EVEN OIL CHANGES REASONABLE RATES!

If you need a reliable, & honest mechanic then this is the place. Been taking my cars to them for years and they really back up their work. Small family owned business but they really take care of your mechanic needs.

The best mechanic ever!! Before I met them I went from shop to shop, always being taken advantage of because of the fact that I am a woman.... but went i went to Ortegas, my luck with mechanical work changed forever!! Their honesty blew me away! I would not ever change them!

Do not take your car to this shop. The mechanics are not certified and they do not do the work right the first time. I took my Nissan Titan and Pontiac G6 to this company and payed out a total of 3000,00 for poor work and now have to take my vehicles to get the work done right.I brought this to the owners attention Juan Ortega and requested a full refund for air conditioning work that is still not working. He replaced the compressor 2 times and wanted me to allow him to replace the compressor for the 3rd time. I refused and I am reporting this company to the BBB and in pursuit of suing this company for a full refund for poor mechanical work.

The place is a little off the beaten path. Would not take German automobiles here. But when it comes to chevys, fords, and Dodges they will do a great job for a fraction of the price. Be prepared though you may need to leave your car for a few extra days but to save as much as you will its worth it. Well iI guess that's up to you?

If your a woman don't take your car there if you don't know anything about cars they took advantage of me... i had to pay in cash because they don't take "debit" when I saw a guy pay with his card... $500 for a diagnostic check plus to "fix" it nothing was fix so sad how ppl can do this to you

Tereso is extremely knowledgeable and great customer service. Been using this shop for 9 years, wouldn't bother going else where. Honest diagnostics and repairs that last with out breaking the wallet.

Reasonable prices, service is awesome they are though on checking into motor I'll let you know if something is wrong with the car before they'll fix it. Cash or credit cards/debt. Take all makes (oil changes too)

I have been doing business with them for 5 years in the past 3 months we have spent 3000 and had to buy 2 new cars there service have gone all the way down charge me $340 for an oil change and a tuneup when I got my car back it didn t have oil or fluids in the car broke down the next morning they said it was my starter I ve never had a problem with my starter then it was a hose I paid another $360 then car didn t make it around the corner then they said it was a Sensor which they charge me another $165 now he telling me that my car needs a Transmission I ve never had any problems before My husband took my car to them I ve had the car for 3 years 53000 mails on the car before that my husband took his car for an oil change the next day we had to buy another car after paying $1000 dollars I don t know why my husband keeps bringing the cars here I guess after 5 years of good service then this at times like this is crazy I would not recommend this place it needs to be shut down even one of the employees pulled me to the said and said don t bring your car back here very dissatisfied and disappointed
