My warranty on my truck expired and my Transmission went out :( after calling 11 different places i called this place and was instantly set at ease.. I could tell they knew exactly what they were talking about. They knew exactly what needed to be done.. They offered a better warranty than most the other places i called.. Price wise they were on point with the other places i called but their knowledge, warranty and customer service had me sold!! To put the icing on the cake my truck was done in the time frame quoted ANNND they had me bring it back within a week or 2 just to check on it and that says a lot about the service!!! I highly recommend them Even during a Pandemic they delivered and exceeded all expectations!!Service: Transmission

GO TO A DIFFERENT SHOP!This place is a big rip-off.The work they did on my 98 Ford truck was horrible. They lied everyday about calling me back or getting the truck done in two days. It's frustrating dealing with a shop owner who looks for reasons to keep from doing the job right the first time. The transmission still slips and has stopped working in reverse. The issue was a lot less of a headache before taking the truck in. Save your money and go someplace that actually takes pride in their work and talk to a shop owner with integrity and customer service skills.Service: Transmission

Got the transmission rebuilt in the time quoted.Had a couple of issues that were not found till the daily drives.Took it back to ATE found and repaired it.The truck has been running nonstop since last year.THANK YOU

I've been going there since 1970's, many times. I've had many vehicles repaired there with never a problem. I highly and only recommend this company for all transmission repairs or rebuilds. I received top notch professional service from the gentlemen at ATE! Tony and his team fixed my difficult CVT problems at a very reasonable cost. ATE communicated with me via e-mail and/or phone throughout the entire repair process. Quality service and the best prices in town! This is the place to go if you're experiencing transmission issues in the greater Phoenix area!

We were Referred to Automatic Transmission exchange after getting a diagnostic to see what it would cost to repair a CVT transmission. They quoted us $9,000 for a new transmission or $2000 for a used one. They charged us $95 because Tre said he had to do his own diagnostic which was never told to us beforehand and said because he had to do a road side test. All other transmission shops will give you a free diagnostic. My wife is the one who took it in because I began chemo and they definitely took advantage. I called over the phone like I was another customer and they immediately told me they do not work on CVT transmissions but they could charge me $95 to run a diagnostic. But with my wife they let her take it in after she told them we already got a diagnostic and charged her $95 to tell her what she already new. What a way to take advantage. Don't let them know someone referred you to them or they will be making sure they charge more to pay the referee! I spoke with Tre and basically was told I should've took to another shop. Love this place. I've had them build be 2 transmissions. One is a full race manual valve body tf727 for my Jeep and the other was a stronger 48re for my Dodge truck. 20k miles later on the truck and it still shifts great. There were a few things that shortly developed shortly after, however they were quick to fix the issues and sent me on my merry way. Great customer service

Saved a estimated $4,500 repair on my 2011 DODGE RAM. I wanted a 2nd opinion of transmission rebuild and Automatic Transmission Exchange is a renowned shop nationwide. They spent hours on their own dime to diagnosis. Ultimately the computer was sending wrong information. $95 inspection fee + $200 transmission service. Once again Mark Salem steered me in the right direction

Tre, and his entire crew know what to do. All these MEN do is build and install transmissions. Their specialty, much akin to Specialised Surgeon. This is their niche. Honest pricing, NOT a cheap flight rip artists or scammers. Nope not here. People understand that this place has been here since 1985 when I would go to the park and swap, and even before. This shop is a generational thing. Passing the legacy off to a Son. This is indeed a rare and special place to replace your transmission.So to one all needing transmission services, please call and get your vehicle in for repair! Best pricing in town!!P.S.I am in the TRADES, meaning I beat the tar out of my truck!!! I haul major weight of construction materials. All day everyday. I need a transmission I can beat on every day. They INSTALL "ROAD RUNNER TOURQUE CONVERTERS" This in itself is a hell of history!Oh yeah Thanks Tre!

I am a retired factory technician living in Lake Havasu City and Looked like they had good reputation so had them replace trans in my Tahoe. 6 months later it failed and as anyone would expect they replaced it under their stated WARRANTY (18 mo/18k miles). Another few months same thing happened and perfect the shipped to where I was stranded. This week went out AGAIN. Tre (owners son) said he needed codes so I had everything diagnosed and certified techs here called with results. So after $160 diagnosis I am taking with Tre again he stated I needed to tow it to him. After questioning him further I realized nothing was going to be done. In fact Tre stated he just wanted it shipped there so he could find a reason to deny the warranty!! WHAT!?? Now had to contact my lawyer and sue them for they WILL NOT honor their warranty. SO BUYER BEWARE!! As a former Ford Service Manager I have seen many unscrupulous and dishonest repair shops over the years! You should AVOID AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXCHANGE AT ALL COSTS!

There are a lot of places you can go in the valley to get your transmission rebuilt or service I had a wonderful experience with my transmission so far so good the price was very affordable believe me I checked around and it's comforting to know that this company is SmackDown in the middle of our city you can have your transmission rebuilt within a week and know that you are getting Top Notch quality work the beautiful thing about this is if there's anything that goes wrong with your transmission they're right there to make sure everything is right they offer you a 2 year warranty which is pretty standard but if you do what you're supposed to do your transmission will last you a very very long time thank you Tre,and Ben

Every time I release my clutch I curse these guys for how they ripped me off. After rebuilding my transmission it still made noise. They went through a bunch of shenanigans trying to pretend they couldn't hear it or that it wasn't their fault or that it was the clutch, even though the clutch was fairly new. They took it apart, found nothing, said the clutch was bad even though all the parts looked good, forced me to buy a new clutch as a condition for them to put it back together, charged me $800 for a $300 clutch, took 3 weeks to do it, put in a racing clutch that is very grabby, and of course the original noise is still there which I just have to live with until I buy a new truck. This whole experience has caused me to hate those guys more than words can express.

Frustrated to say the least. 102 miles on a rebuilt t-350. Issues off the bat, left me stranded. Pulled unit and sent back, then quoted 500$ to rebuild again (cash)... Didn't want to invest more into a bad unit, then I was quoted 55$ to have it delivered back to me in pieces. Being in the service industry myself, I don't put a lot of thought into online reviews like Google and yelp, but, lesson learned.

I have had two transmission's on the same truck rebuilt by these melvins the second time I picked it up I had to turn it around they apologized for there stupidity and made it right lol and it starting to slip again, he's said he backs his warranty not his work.This is a A to B truck not drivin to much I think the biggest thing I had in the back is a Christmas tree.They do not do good work don't waste your money. I told him I said make it right between two tranny i maybe put about 15000 on it or less than that in giving a little credit on that.He told write a review so here it is.

Tre totally helped me out when I lost my transmission, no drive, no reverse. Limped it to the shop and had me on the road almost the next day. His Techs are also awesomely great people. Thanks Guys.

Automatic Transmission Exchange is one of those unique automotive stores that its service is 2nd to none. Paul is a top guy. Those guys worked on my 2005 hyundai tuscan 4whl drive transmission system and did a splendid job. They are honest, honest, very honest. Check them out!

Two failures in five years. Nice people but the same issue back to back.3-4 clutch failure.Back in the old days, there were zero failures when dad was more involved.ATE is not worth another two grand gamble.Service: Transmission

I left my very nice trans am I spent 3 yrs building with them to diagnose a torque converter lock up issue...tre said it would take a day or two...I brought it from prescott...every day for a week he said he would call me in the morning and never did I had to call every night...all they did was play with my car all week...promised it was being kept inside... I finally went down to get it and they said they didn't know anything...true! The car was filthy had been left out in the rain... my nice power stop brake rotors are rusty now had rubber from work boots all over my ground effects under the door...which left scratches...broke one of my visors and it was on empty...I barely went ten miles and it overheated which it has never done...they must have beat on it so hard it heated and blew a bunch of coolant out of it because it took a bunchService: Transmission

Replaced transmission, paid almost $4800.00, van broke down before we got home. They took no responsibility, even made us pay for the tow. Now we need 4 tires, radiator, etc for over $3000.00.

I recommend using them. They do rear work and are very helpful. I've had them do a few transmissions for me and have had no problems.
