They do great work and have a lot of parts on hand if you want to do the work yourself. The prices are good and they have a lot of parts that you can't find anymore without having to order them. I highly recommend them to everyone I know!

Found this place on accident and I couldn't be more pleased about having done so. I needed my transmission worked on. they were totally honest with their diagnostics and more than fair price wise. It's not like there's a bunch of these specialty parts shops that cater to the needs of older Volkswagen Beetles around Phoenix. I was also looking for a front end, and guess what? They had just what I needed. I'll be doing business with Don's bus box whenever I need VW parts or repair service that I can't do myself.

Great prices and a HUGE selection of parts, Don is very helpful and a great guy to buy parts from. Always as cheap as online prices without the cost and wait of shipping and sometimes even beats online pricing. On the rare occasion he doesn't have something in stock he can usually get it the next day as long as you call early enough.

Made the trip out to go meet Don and check out his store and shop. I picked up some front calipers and he gave me some advice on my 1970 Baja. Will return for all future business. Very skilled mechanics. Fair rates. Willing to accept a challenge. Experts at engine swaps. Swapped a GM ecotec 2.4l for an old VW air cooled for me. Great job in a surprising short about of time. Highly recommend.

I ordered a fully built 091 bus transaxle from Dons bus box in June 2018. I paid $5,800.00 up front after a few conversations over the phone explaining exactly what I was building and exactly what I needed this transaxle to be. I received the transaxle fairly quick and then when I went to put it in my car (1967 Vw bug with RLR suspension setup for street application) I realized it would not work for me. I ordered the transaxle with a specific bus to bug nose cone and that s not what I received. I then called and explained the situation and said I was willing to pay any difference in parts and some labor (even though he built it wrong and he should have stood by his work and made it right). Then He was literally screaming at the top of his lungs over the phone and said he would not work with me on the cost to fix it at all. His estimate was $1,000 to $1,500 to fix his mistake. Then I disputed the charges with my credit card company and got the transaxle returned for a full refund and Dons bus box paid the shipping both ways. I am completely unsatisfied with his customer service. I do not know how someone who treats customers so poor can stay in business. Using Dons bus box was just a huge headache and put my build on pause for 6 months. I would definitely not recommend Dons Bus Box to anyone.

Dude ripped me off! Brought my transaxle in because it was popping out of reverse.Now it has no 3rd or 4th.Took it to another guy and Dons bus box not only put in bad used parts it was put together wrong.Way to rip off a disabled vet.
