We stayed here in October for a couple weeks and it was the worst experience we have had. And that says a lot coming from us who have been living full time for 2 years and have been to at least a 50 RV parks! We've never had a bad experience until here. The manager who says he's the owner (he isn't, he's the owners son) is very rude. He's verbally abusive to his guests like some of the previous reviews mention. He was verbally abusive to me, he just snapped out of nowhere and went off on me, it was completely uncalled for and he didn't have any remorse for it. I honestly cannot believe the owners don't hire a new manager, even though it's their son, that shouldn't matter. He is the face of the business. Managing an RV park takes people skills, patience and kindness and he doesn't have any of that. I highly recommend finding another local RV park or campground over staying here!

Our stay was nice enough. Fairly level site with good water and power (albeit only 30 amp). They lose one star for the very tight spaces and confusing roads and another one for how ridiculously expensive it is ($65/night WITH Good Sam Discount). The staff was very nice and the stay was quiet, other than a bit of noise from the highway just in front of the park. Couldn't connect to the protected internet but the open one was ok.

Tight lots, no tables, not enough room to put out awnings, no cable tv, dusty. First and last time at this park. Over priced.

It was a very nice campground. Even though it was in the city, it feelt secluded, kind of quiet . Lots of trees and shrubs. Clean place.Close to stores and restaurants.Good location.Would definitely stay here again.

After reading some of the not-so-nice reviews of this campground I felt like I needed to share our experience. I ad it this was nit my first choice due to it location near thee center of Payson. But it was available and we decided to give it a try.My first concern was that is was too close to the highway and would be noisy, it it turns out it is behind a little hill and seems very quiet once you get in there. The trees are nice and they have everything you could need. The spot was plenty large and level. The campground had a lot of families with kids enjoying the area. They want to bed and it was very peaceful. They have a walking path to a place next door that has food and beer, but we weren t in the mood to even take that short walk, but it s a nice option. Some of the negative reviews center on the staff not being friendly, but they were more than professional, and even guided us to our spot and directed us backing in. The bathrooms and other facilities were very clean and well kept. The pool wasn t open yet, so I can t comment on that. I can t say if there have been staff changes since those bad reviews but our experience was nothing but positive.I think this is a great place to stay, especially if you have small children (we don t) and want to be close to the center of Payson

Be very careful when you discuss length of trailer or motorhome! I made it very clear my trailer was 27 feet in length and was quoted one price. After completing application, the price took a big jump.

Had a great weekend getaway camping at Payson Campground and RV Resort. The gravel to our campsite was freshly raked, and it was clear the owners care about their property. All the plants looked healthy, the showers and bathrooms were clean, and the pool looked nice too, although we didn t get a chance to jump in. Easy driving to nearby trails and food. Site 86 was pretty well-surrounded by vegetation, Site 80A looked fairly private as well. Will definitely stay again when hiking in the Payson area.

The kids loved the pool. The playground is missing swings so it s not a functional playground at all. There s a small basketball hoop. It was noisy at night I had to ask people to turn off their music so my family could sleep. It was okay, but it s not very secluded, it s right off a main road. I d recommend going somewhere more in the forest and quieter.

They do offer a lot of amenities like a pool, playground, basketball court, pet area, etc. we were just passing through, though, and just needed a space for one night. It was pretty pricey for what we got which was a pull through was just long enough so the we did not have to unhook the Jeep but was really narrow. We were able to put the slide out on the drivers side but the awning, on the passenger side, could only be put out a few feet. The roads are pretty narrow and all dirt as are the rv spaces. I do like this area and plan to come back and spend some time exploring but it will have to be at a less expensive park.

Great campground with nice shade trees, a pool to enjoy, showers, and a laundry mat. It is kept very clean, and security drives their golf carts throughout the campground regularly. My husband and I live in Mesa. We came out several months before our stay to review all the campgrounds in Payson. Out of all of them, this is the one we chose. We booked for 3 months in the summer to stay out of the extreme heat in the valley. We left our trailer at our campsite so we could come and go as we please. The staff is easy to work with as well. If you enjoy camping, I highly recommend staying at Payson Campground.

Good location, nice sites, super nice staff, clean. We've stayed there several times and are planning to go back. The only thing we're not crazy about is that if we were to need to cancel a reservation they don't refund, they only credit for a future visit.Nearby activities: Good basecamp for local hiking, kayaking, Tonto Natural Bridge, Mogollon Rim, town, etc. Easy access to groceries, gas stations, etc. Only about an hour and a half to the valley.

Wonderful place to stay!Truly great place! We had reservations at a different place up in Pine that turned out to be a total bust. Headed back down towards Payson, calling every campground and RV park we could find. It was Sunday afternoon and all the offices were closed. Then a miracle happened. We called Payson campground and Mike answered the phone. "Sure, I can get you a spot, at least for tonight." What a relief! Ended up staying 4 nights.Mike, Mikey, Curt, and all the other staff we met were so kind and caring. We had full hook ups. Contrary to an old review, we had no issues with the 50 amp electric. It was low 90's so we ran the A/C pretty much all day. The pool area is really nice. The restrooms and showers were extraordinarily clean. The campground itself is very quiet. There is some noise from nearby Hwy 260, but it's easily masked when the breeze blows through the pine trees. We already booked a return trip for Sep-2023.

the first time we stayed was in a pull thur a few months ago. we had a great time. the bathrooms were clean and staff was awesome.2nd trip was better than first. we had plans to stay in the national forest but wasn't able to so we were going to drive back home until the staff was able to find me a spot. FAST. even know it was sold out and last minute. The management team saved the weekend fishing trip for my boys. we WILL return.

We stayed here in our travel trailer and it was awesome. It has a steep entry so if you are a Class A with a toad I would suggest you unhook it before arriving. If you are pulling a trailer made a wide turn into and out of the park. The nice thing about this hill is that it keeps the street/city noise down in the park. There is crushed granite throughout the park which keeps the dirt down. Our spot was nice and secluded. The campground is dark and quiet at night. The laundry room is set up very nicely set up and clean. It is coin operated. The bathroom we did not use, but they looked very adequate and private. We have been traveling all over the US for years and while there is no perfect campground this one ranks very high. We would stay here again.

We were in a RV, site 44, it was almost perfectly level with great water and electric. Sewer was a little uphill, but certainly nothing that would keep me from taking the site again. The staff I had contact with were all friendly and take pride in their work and the appearance of the Park.Nearby activities: There's a Culver's right across the highway.Safety: Everything was as it should be. From pool and deck to handrails to gate, things are proper for the safety and enjoyment of guestsWalkability: As I walked through the Park with my two dogs we found the roadways and paths to be clear, very suitable for this 78yo and fury Friends.

I absolutely love this RV park. It is close to restaurants and Walmart in case you need anything. It is also family friendly. The people who stay there have all been friendly when we walk around. The staff, especially the manager is very kind and accommodating. We go up to Payson for weekend camping trips and always stay here. Would recommend to all!

Extremely helpful staff that even helped guide us into our rv spot. Always numerous staff located driving around the campground either cleaning or seeking to give a helping hand. The campground is very well maintained, clean and inviting. The amenities are abundant and again well cared for. We will definitely be back and will highly recommend to anyone! Thank you for wonderful stay

We stayed here for several days when we first came to Payson. The overall experience was good. They have hookups and wifi which was great. The pool is great and rarely very full so for us it was perfect. The site includes a shower house as well. The downside was that some of the sites are on a slope which is not ideal and the price is a bit steep if you are staying for an extended period of time. With that being said if they had long term stays at a more reasonable price we would still be there today. This is by far the best RV park in Payson. It's not perfect but it is better than the rest.Playground: Basic playground with swings and a basketball hoop.Restrooms: There were multiple showers available and we never had any issues using them.Dog-friendliness: We do not currently have a dog but we did see some on site. I am not sure If they are allowed but they were there.

This is our second time staying at the Payson campground. Everyone that we ran into that works there was very friendly and helpful. They escort you into your spot so it makes it easy to find. We stayed in a pull through, which is nice and convenient. But I have my eye on a couple back in spots that I will try to book next time. They seem to have more shade and more room in some of the back in spots. Just remember when you go camping in spots like this to turn your lights off as your lights will shine straight into your neighbors camper.
