The parking lot is gated with a padlock. You will need to call the Oracle State Park to "reserve" and get a code so you can get in. Once you open the lock with the code, it's a short drive down to the parking lot. There are about 10-15ish spots to park. It's $7 to park, and you put the cash in an envelope.Very quiet and I didn't see anyone else. From the lot, you get treated to views of the surrounding mountains. There's a trail as well, and also a small outhouse and a picnic table. No water fountains.

Great place to view the night sky, about 40 min drive from Tucson. The gate is locked at night, you need to call the park ahead of time to make a "reservation", i.e. get the combination. There is a $7 fee for after hours use, honor system pay a the kiosk.

At night it's a great quiet place to get photos of the night sky.We ended up leaving after about 10 minutes though because we heard coyotes calling out. Would probably be a good spot if wanting to tinker with a telescope as well. . . Just keep in mind the wildlife.
