Took a Lincoln Town Car 2006 in for a used car inspection and they have done a terrific job inspecting every mechanical detail in the car and gave recommendations. Bought the car eventually and got an oil change and swapped the engine belt within an hour or so. They were extremely helpful and friendly. Just make sure you call ahead of time, as their schedule gets very busy, Josh would try his best to fit you in, and as much as he could assist you with what the car needs. Highly recommend this place if you're buying a new car and require inspection, they're quick and efficient.

These folks know what they re doing. Had my brakes done and got an oil change out of the way, and they got me in and out of there quick. Car sounds great and is running even better for it. I also had them do a general inspection for my car as I needed to replace a catalytic converter a couple weeks back and I just wanted their input on the vehicle. They recommended another fantastic shop for me to check out to address that issue for a fair price. Josh and Pixie are awesome people that will answer any questions you have the best they can and really care about your best interests, and Owen really does have a fantastic mustache. I can't speak highly enough of Josh and his team at Open Shop Auto. I'm a car guy and will do most of my own work - but when it's gotten to be too much for me I have been so glad to have these guys! I'm very particular about the way our cars are kept and who works on them. Open Shop has earned my trust with even my hobby cars and my wife's car! We've had several repairs done by Open Shop and not a single one was a small, simple one. Josh and his team have tackled some really challenging, complex work on our cars and got us back on the road safely. The little VW pictured showed up limping on a flatbed and left on the highway! They've provided expert diagnosis and honest, kind service every step of the way. I've referred family members to them and would do so again in a heartbeat. This shop is 100% golden! There's nothing better than leaving a shop and feeling a difference! I had a carbon clean, new spark plugs, oil change, diagnostic work, and rear wiper delete completed. Had suspension overhauled control arms, coilovers etc. They shoot for high expectations, while volume is extensive and provide excellent service quality and communication. I've known Josh and Pixi for almost a decade and was so glad to hear they opened up their own shop. I just brought my vehicle there to get my rear brake pads replaced. The price was extremely affordable. The shop waiting area doesn't look like a typical car shop. It looks more like a family dining room and they offer many amenities and great conversation when time allows. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for ethical, affordable, friendly and high quality service.

Josh saved me a huge headache and was able to repair my Audi. I appreciate his honesty and his willingness to even look at my car! After he fixed my Audi, I had him take care of my other vehicles. Looking for a mechanic? Well, stop looking. You've found the right place. Great customer service? CHECK! Knowledgable staff? CHECK! Are they friendly? CHECK! Great quality work? CHECK!I called them because I was replacing the radiator in my Volkswagen Golf TDI and was having troubles getting one connection to work and the owner, Josh, told me to come by right as they opened and he got it fixed for me in less than 15 minutes and I was on my way.Then, I ran into troubles replacing my alternator, I called and Josh answered the phone. I explained what was going on and that if I didn't get my car back that same day, I would lose my job. Well, my car got to the shop around 12:30 in the afternoon and they had it out the door by closing at 6:00 the same day.This is by far the best experience I have ever had with a mechanic in my entire life anywhere in the world. I will absolutely keep coming back to this shop for all my mechanic needs.Oh, did I mention they work on almost anything? These guys are top notch Josh took my Scion XB in on short notice for a break job even though they were very busy. Josh is very passionate about what they do. passion equals perfection. And that is exactly what I received. They are very commutative through text email and phone calls. I've worked on my own cars for most of my life now that I'm getting old I prefer to let a professional do it for me. Finding a professional passionate honest knowledgeable shop is hard to come by. When I purchased my Lexus ES350 used, the first thing I did was take it to Josh. He did a complete inspection and determined I needed to replace an outer boot. He showed me where it was torn, and told me he could have it fixed in less than 2 hours. He is very honest and has mastered his craft in anything related to automotive. Josh was incredibly helpful and communicative on my repair. I brought in my Subaru Baja with squeaky brakes and whining power steering. When I picked it up Josh had also repaired a fuel line leak I hadn't even mentioned. Josh at openshop is THE ONLY technician that myself or any of my friends trust with our equipment. All of our AWD turbo cars are serviced at openshop. I cannot recommend this shop enough. My spec B is here now getting a new clutch and usually I would be nervous about my car, but I'm just excited knowing it's in such great hands.

Josh is the man. Strikes me as an honest guy trying to run a good business. Went above and beyond to get my car running again. Prices are fair especially for working on an import. Speaking of imports - this is the guy you want working on your import car. He has great knowledge and appreciation for these cars that other shops wont even touch. Took my car to Open Shop Auto to get looked at. Josh got me in the same day and went over the entire car to diagnose it. He explained what was a priority vs non priority to be done. If you want a truly trustworthy, skilled mechanic, Josh is your guy.

I own a Corolla that will be 11 years old this year. The body and drive train are in reasonable shape, but it was evident that a number of maintenance issues were overdue. In particular, I began to hear an ominous grinding noise intermittently, and it appeared to be related either to the brakes or suspension. Having seen a number of the OpenShop Facebook posts, I contacted Josh for an estimate. He suggested a thorough inspection of the vehicle, which he performed at the shop on my first visit. I wasn't surprised to learn that he generated a list of repairs which would rollover to a second visit to accomplish the complete package.I couldn't be more pleased with the results of the efforts by Josh and Reuben. The overall reliability of my vehicle has been significantly enhanced. The grinding noise is gone (thanks to new brakes) and the ride is so solid (thanks to new shocks & struts).Highlights of my service at OpenShop are: 1) The initial inspection served as an independent assessment of the effort required. 2) In my case, everything could not be accomplished in one visit. Josh was happy to work out the priority of these repairs to fit both his and my schedule. 3) Josh provided (via Email) an itemized receipt for the work performed, so that detailed cost information was available to the customer.I'm happy to have had Josh's services available to see me through the maintenance necessary to keep my vehicle roadworthy. A very BIG shout out to Open Shop Auto in Mesa AZ!!If you are looking for a reliable and honest shop then you found the right place. I've been having so many issues with my car and every time I'd take it to the dealership it seemed like there was an issue on top of another issue on top of a big bill!!!! The last straw was when I was getting scammed into buying a new engine I did not need.I was referred to Open Shop Auto by word of mouth and I'm sooo grateful beyond words. Not only are they honest people but they will walk you through and educate you about your car without being gouged.I'm not one to write reviews or post my opinions but felt compelled to put this out there since they were my saving grace in this situation

I would highly recommend open shop auto. They know their stuff and take the time to explain any and all details. The facility is conveniently located off Center St in Mesa. My car drives like a dream again after another shop botched the install of my aftermarket suspension. Open shop auto was able to correct and dial in my suspension. I am happy customer and customer for life.
