John is great! He came highly recommended to me and I have used his services several times over the last 5 years for vehicle repairs. He has always diagnosed the problem(s) and presented options on what can be done to solve the problem. John is great at communicating with you and detailing the issues; what needs to be done right away and what should be done soon, but not immediately. I appreciate his honesty and hard work! I know that John goes above and beyond what most auto repair shops and/or national chain automotive repair providers perform in servicing and repairing your vehicle. In fact, John routinely will do the small things that most places will charge extra for because he wants the vehicle repaired right the first time. I also know that he has established many relationships with local vendors that is also beneficial for his customers. I know that as a small business owner John wears many hats and sacrifices a lot of his personal time in order to meet his customers needs. John is honest. My wife and I drive cars that are getting older, and we're both college students, so money is tight. If we go wanting to get our car working, that's what he'll do. He wont add on a whole bunch of crazy things that we don't need, and he is very transparent with the repairs he makes and how much they will cost. I recommend him for anyone looking for an honest mechanic.

I have taken many cars to John over the years. I have never had to return for the same problem. His turn around time is always accurate aside from manufacture part delays that he can sometimes workaround. One of the best things are Harwood Auto is the diagnosis. When John tells you what is wrong with your car, listen. You will see that he looks at his service as a science. He gives you a detailed breakdown of the issue and a reason for his solution. If there are other options you will hear those too. I have paid him to tune up my car and it was worth every penny. The issues he caught early saved me big time and big money down the road.

Fantastic! It's nice to know that there's honest, hard working mechanics out there. John Harwood is usually the main guy doing the work, his sons help out sometimes, but I got to talk directly with him about everything. And I felt like he went out of his way to treat me like he would want to be treated. His recommendations weren't like a money-making mechanic's recommendations, but instead they were like wise pieces of advice from that uncle who knows everything about cars, who is willing to take time to show you just exactly what you need and help you save money.

When ever I have a problem Harwood is my go to mechanic. He is very thuough and honest without the high pressure you may experience at other shops. He prices it fair with no surprises which is nice. He has always been quick at getting the job done and gives updates. Very nice to do business with!

Harwood was referred to me by a close friend. I do my own work and honestly am not a big fan of mechanics. John didn t try to sell me anything. I knew the issues with my truck and what I wanted done. He informed me of some other issues I knew about and nothing I didn t. He was completely honest and straight forward.. I will send my parents here from now on when I don t have time to work on their cars. an awesome shop and stand up owner. I will always go to Harwoods from now on when I don t have time to work on the cars myself. This guy is a stand up shop won t ever go anywhere else. If I don t have the time to fix the issues myself the car goes to Harwoods, no questions asked.Services: Transmission, Engine repair, Oil change

Mechanic in Mesa recommendation: If you ever need a mechanic to look at your car I put a 100% stamp of approval on John Harwood. He has worked on all of our cars since we have lived here and he is one of the most honest mechanics I or my husband have ever used! He is amazing! Thank you John and Becky Lines Harwood for not only the excellent service but for the peace of mind to be able to take my car somewhere without my husband and know that I will not be taken advantage of. He even gives me a list of things that are now repairs and later repairs. Wish I could take this peace of mind with me to Texas.

I've been taking my cars to John for years. He is the most honest and knowledgeable mechanic around. He doesn't up charge or look to sell you products you don't need. Just good o'l fashioned honest mechanic.

I have been going to John for over 20 years and I would not trust anyone else with my car. Not only does he fix your issue, he gives you a list of things to watch. I am always prepared when I have a repair because John saw it coming! He cares and is a perfectionist. I would recommend anyone and everyone to see John. Once you go you will come back!Thanks John for being amazing!

Most honest and thorough shop you could ever hope to find. John is an exceptional mechanic who will give honest advice on when you "need" genuine dealer parts or would be better off with after market but will always let you make the decisions once you have all the options.

The MOST noble mechanic I know. Does all the work at the exact price he quotes at the beginning and he inspects the car for other potential future repairs. He's more than willing to explain the work that needs to be done to you as well.In my case there were some extra repairs that needed to be done that were unforeseen before we put the car on the rack. He worked around it to make the extra repairs and still charged me the amount he quoted at the beginning.I highly recommend his service!

Harwood auto is professional and honest. I do most of my auto work myself, but if I'm stumped or a friend needs work done, it's the only shop I'll go to or recommend. The owner is really friendly and always takes the time to describe exactly what's wrong and why, instead of trying to rush you.

My expedition was over heating so I went here. I paid 1200 to not get my expedition fixed. But He didn't fix it!!!Then was told To expect to pay over $5000 (yep you read that right!) to get it reliable! I left there with anxiety, crying all the way home. In total panic mode!!! I was so upset. The Guy Went on for 20+ min with all the problems he seen with my car and a huge list!!!!!!!!!! Said he test drove my car to superstition springs! Huh? That's a drive!When talking to him I could hardly get a word in! He was very dominate and would interrupt me. And after my review he tried to justify his work....... But...I didn't like the way he made me feel, the fact I paid 1200$ to still have and over heating car! I felt ripped off! (And I'm updating this months later!)I decided to get another opinion and Went somewhere else, first a friend who tried to fix it, then to .. (shout out to Brian's tire and auto pros!!) To have them do the compressor? one item recommended by hardwood)Anyways, they did a few minor things. I ended up paying 270$ included a tire for my trailer and their 79$ coupon that includes 5 free oil changes!!!They were honest and told me I didn't need a compressor! Just a fan turned aroOh and I am now a faithful customer to Brians auto pros and sending them customers!I even recommended my mom there!

He works hard & helps you understand not only the issues, but the solutions. He even gave us advice when we were looking for a used vehicle. Informing us about how many miles until typical repairs were made on the models we were looking at.

This is the only Mechanic I trust. Explains the issues well and is fair on price!
