I called a lot of shops looking for an estimate for my truck repair. I got a lot of run-around, shops requiring a diagnostic fee, and crazy quotes. Gilbert was willing to see me immediately, look at my truck for free to confirm the problem, gave me a fair quote, and he did the work the same day. I highly recommend them!

Gilbert s auto shop is doing a LS2 6.0 Pontiac engine swap on my 69 Firebird nonetheless it has been challenging but through it all they have work through it on the last stage just waiting on the wiring harness.

Great fast and friendly service with the quality you would expect on the vehicle you care about. I Am a returning customer and have had both of my cars repaired at this shop and will continue. Gilberts auto have helped me maintain and do performance upgrades on my 95 Impala ss and I am more than happy with the quality of work and experienced craftsmanship they have provided me. Gilbert has been able to diagnose and fix multiple problems in the most timely manner. Thanks again Gilbert....

I have been a customer of gilbert's Auto Repair for a few years now. All of my family bring their vehicles (6 of them) for any auto repairs and AC maintenance and repairs.We are very satisfied with their work and more importantly, appreciate their detailed communication regarding the repairs needs.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My son purchased a used vehicle (still a 2023 with approximately 2500 miles) on Sunday 04/23/23 and we took it to this shop for an inspection first thing Tuesday 04/25/2023 morning. During the three hours the car was there it was damaged. The front bumper and driver quarter panel were scraped and dented. Owner said damage was preexisting (impossible as it was not there when we left the house). His son, Gilbert Jr., was condescending and tried gaslighting us saying it was there and even suggested it was due to a young driver (my son is almost 22). Also, Jr. changed his story a couple times about initially seeing the car. He first claimed it was on the rack when he came in and then said it was first thing he noticed on going out to the car but when we dropped the car off it was pulled in forward. It was only visible when walking out after they backed it in. This shop was recommended by a neighbor so we will relay this information to the neighbor as a bad referral and will personally never return to this shop. Since no work was completed I can't speak to the quality of their mechanic work but if you care about the aesthetics of your vehicle STAY AWAY. The owners are not honest. I held off on this review pending an insurance claim but as of right now their insurance is denying the claim.

This place is awesome. Gilbert is very informative and explains everything step by step. I was in and out with super cold AC in a few hours. Thank goodness the compressor is still working. Just needed the whole system recharged. In addition I went ahead and had the transmission fluid done.All work done at a good price. I will definitely use this auto repair location again if needed. I give it 5 stars!

I am very pleased with Gilbert s Auto Repair! Gilbert actually rescued me from the exit ramp during rush hour!! He pulled up behind and asked if I needed help and I said yes and he towed me to his shop right around the corner. He first asked if I had any particular place that I wanted to be towed to and explained that he owned a repair shop and he would take it there if I wanted. I thanked him and not only did he not charge me for the accidental tow he fixed my alternator and found some other issues that didn t need to be fixed right away but would need to watched. Very affordable and friendly staff as well as quick service!

This is the first time I went to Gilbert auto repair. I really liked the service. My AC was just blowing hot air so I took it to Gilbert they checked it out right away. Gave me two options a cheap way to by pass problem or fix it correctly which will take a few days to fix. He was reasonable price and actually came under the estimate. I will definitely be taking my truck back to Gilbert if I have any other problems with my truck.

Came here for an engine swap on my 97 Del Sol. Seriously SAY AWAY. I gave them as much time as they needed to work on it and get it in working condition. Cost about $2,000 more than they expected, would I would have been FINE with, if they did good work. They dont take pride in their work at all, and it shows.Car has been sitting in a garage for 10 years which they obviously knew about, and switched out the engine, fuel pumps, power steering. Almost everything under the hood- But they left the OLD fuel in the car... Had me take it and God knows how much damage that did to the new engine thats in it.Was told they would clean it up and make it look nice, but when I got it back, they didnt even take a HOSE to it. Oil and dirt ALL over, inside and out.I dont understand how a mechanic would even wanna work on something so dirty. How can you tell whats wrong when there is dirt and grease everywhere?! I brought it up to Gilbert JR, and he got an attitude saying "they arent a detail shop" and I could power wash it myself if I wanted to. Gilbert was the one that said MULTIPLE times that they will power wash the engine bay and make it look nice. Im not looking for an in depth detail, but at least clear off the 10 years of buildup from it sitting in the garage!The car is STILL leaking, there are electrical issues that I have to fix now because they didnt take ownership of what they broke. AC is still broken because they didnt fix that either...I wouldnt even trust this place to do an oil change now. Im taking it to a new mechanic for the sole purpose of double checking their shotty work. $6,000 and its still not working like it should be after 6k. Absolutely ridiculous. Theres so much BS that happened from this place that I cant even explain it all in a single post...

I took my truck in to have the struts replaced and was very happy with their service, so went back for an oil change. They were really quick with the oil change and also able to provide me with some other things that really needed attention. They have great customer service and experience technicians which I will definitely go back or recommend my friends to them.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Oil change

Gilbert's Auto Repair, and Gilbert himself, are great! My AC went out and I was given 4 different quotes for the repairs and, not only did he have the best price, but I was able to drop it off immediately and it was repaired by the end of the day. A few weeks later I had a separate, unrelated issue with the AC blower motor and, again, he was able to get me in first thing in the morning, get it repaired and get be back on the road in a matter of hours.This is a family owned business and his son and daughter work with him. They are honest, hardworking and fair priced. I would highly recommend Gilbert for any of your repair and maintenance needs.The location is a bit hard to find because it's in a little auto garage "strip mall" (if you can call it that) type of building, but if you go to the very north end of these buildings, he is in the middle of the the northernmost strip. Again, family owned small business means more reasonable prices and one-on-one communication about your vehicle.

I am very pleased with Gilbert's auto. I would definitely recommend to others. My AC is working great. It's been a while since I had AC. I've had prior mechanics and Gilbert's auto has been the most honest. I will be returning for regular maintenance. Thank you.

Gilbert was friendly and in no time, let me know of all the repairs my vehicle needed. He explained to me the repairs from the most important to the least important that we should consider fixing. He did not pressure me whatsoever and he made us aware that if the same issue he fixed ended up damaging, he would make it good. I will definetly be taking my car to him for any future repairs.

I was having some work done on my motorcycle at Cycle Doctor. When I went to pick it up the A/C on my truck quit working. I asked Aaron at Cycle Doctor,(who did a great job on my bike), if he knew someone who could look at it. He walked me over and introduced me to Gilbert. Gilbert looked at it,diagnosed the problem,and gave me an estimate. I took it in the next morning and he had it fixed by the early afternoon. He was courteous and friendly. The service was great, the A/C is cold, and he was very prompt. I will recommend him and will take my truck back to him when it needs any service.

Our AC went out on our 2005 Honda Odyssey in the peak of the summer heat. Gilbert, Jr and Gilbert, Sr were very professional and quick. They got me in and fixed the problem the same day. They seemed knowledgeable and communicated well. I would definitely recommend them!

These guys can be trusted. I took my car in to have the AC looked at and fixed. I needed a hose that was going to be hard to get. They rebuild hoses in the shop. The car needed 2 visits to get it all figured out and done. It was done without any surprise expenses and according to quote. The AC is blowing cold for the first time in 3 yrs. NOTE: It is always going to cost money to have work done on a car and the people that can do this kind of work should be fairly compensated like any professional. The key is knowing you won't get a diagnoses for unnecessary work like you might at a big shop where service writers work on commission. None of that going on at Gilbert's. I recommend this shop.

Gilbert will take the time to listen and figure out exactly what your vehicles issues are. Work is quick and reliable. They do a lot of high end custom air conditioning work all in house!

Great guys, fast service, fair pricing. Its rare that a mechanic is willing to take you out into the shop and explain what things are, and why they need fixing, but Gilbert has always been great about making sure that I understand what he's doing and why. I highly recommend him to anyone!

My previous mechanic failed to diagnose my A/C problem correctly. Gilbert s Auto Repair knew exactly what I needed to restore the A/C in my 2002 Thunderbird. Gilbert fit me in and gave me a good price, and corrected the problem. I got the car back sooner than expected too! What a pleasure to do business with!

Finally found a family owned trust worthy shop to work on my car. Brought my car in Monday to get the crankshaft sensor replaced and was so impressed with the quality of the work and the great customer service. I would highly recommend giving this shop a try!

Had the power steering pump replaced along with a tune up on my 97 ford ranger today. Hard working honest guys at the shop. They really try and explain everything thoroughly so you know what your buying. Will definitely bring my truck back with any other issues.

112 degrees in Arizona and my A/C died - PANIC!! Not to worry, my daughter referred me to Gilbert's Auto and I dropped in hoping they could help. They immediately assessed the problem, gave me an estimate, and had it up and running very quickly. I drove away and happy (and COOL) customer.

When I arrived at Gilbert's, I had already been jerked around by a mobile mechanic and pepboys. Pepboy's had me order my own parts, all of which I did not end up needing and now get the excitment of returning. Needless to say, Gilbert and his crew took excellent care of my car, they pinpointed and resolved the issue for less then I was quoted. They made it possible for me to make it to my nieces 7th birthday party in Tucson.Thank you Gilbert!

Amazing shop a true 5 star for work and customer service. I have now had more than one vehicle of mine repaired by gilberts auto and will b a lifetime customer. After having my 07 Cadillac Escalade in the dealership on 4 different occasions. I was getting the run around and a misdiagnosed result each time. I finally pulled my vehicle and brought it to Gilbert for a diagnostic. They immediately figured out the issue and had me back on the road that same day. I could not have been happier. Never will I return to the Cadillac dealership for work.

Gilberto has done my mom and step dads vehicles for 12+ years and I've gone to him with multiple vehicles over the years as well. Very nice, very quality work, and always a fair price
