Shawn is an amazing mechanic! He leads with empathy and integrity when conducting business. He diagnosed my vehicle and took pictures of the issues, so I understood the work that needed to be done. He was very transparent with the parts needed and the costs up front. The cost was very affordable for me, which I appreciated. This was the best experience, and I'm so grateful to have met Shawn. My car runs beautifully now. Thank you Shawn!

My truck started leaking really badly late in the night and we reached out to az auto and was able to get in the next morning. This mechanic shop exceeded my expectations. Honest, skilled technicians, efficient and quick service, and quick response. This is by far my go-to for all car repairs. After it was completed that next morning another part of my car had an issue and again I reached back out and it was totally irrelevant to my previous situation and was able to get in that next morning and get that fixed aswell. My car has always been able to work properly after I get it taken in. Shawn has been awesome explaining to me what issue what needs to happen and the follow up of what he s done. I m grateful for their service and I would totally recommend this shop to anyone who has car issues.

Finding a mechanic like Shawn is rare. Best prices and the best work. He swapped my 2017 wrangler engine for a better price than any other mechanic and completed the swap quick. I just ran into another problem with my jeep and gave Shawn a call and he gave me a great price and is currently changing out my water pump. This is the first review I ve ever written on Google and it s because he deserves the recognition. Shawn is honest, kind, and does amazing quality work for a fair price! There is a reason he has all 5 star reviews! He is worth every one and I would give him 6 if I could. He was referred to me and I drove over 40 miles just to work with him. I needed my fuel pump and fuel level sensor replaced on my Chevy Avalanche. Not only was his price great he did the work with OEM parts and very fast! I waited in his nice waiting room for a couple of hours while he did it. The truck has 215,000 and I know it needs other things done and he looked at it all without charging me and wrote up a great price to fix the other things. He even listed out what things he would do first based on priority and what things I could hold off on or even do myself. What mechanic does that? Shawn, that is who! I trust him completely and he is my guy for all me needs moving forward.Service: Auto maintenance

I have been using Shawn for over two years now.That in itself says a lot about the trust I have that Shawn will do whatever it takes to get my car back on the road.Shawn always does the best he can to fix what you need fixed and never, never goes for those extra problems that other places seem to try and tack on to your bill.I have never walked away with less than 100% satisfaction.Plus Shawn is a great guy so that personal touch is always there.If you need to keep your car on the road I couldn t recommend Shawn more highly.Give him a call if your car is acting goofy.Goofy cars are very annoying but I know you will be glad you make that call.I gave Shawn five stars but would have given him more.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Transmission repair, Brakes, Air conditioning, Vehicle safety inspection, Wiper blade installation, Auto maintenance, Battery, Oil change

I can't recommend Az Auto Mechanix enough, especially if you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic who is looking out for your best interest. The owner Shawn made sure to explain all the issues with the car and made the repair reasonable for someone like me on a budget. He didn't try to sell me on anything unnecessary and let me know what I could have fixed down the line. I've had issues with mechanics in the past and have become hesitantabout the whole process, but never felt that way with Shawn. He clearly did what's best for me. Great work by Shawn. Blew my 350 and wanted to go with the LS. Shawn guided me through the replacement with Holley Terminator X EFI. Runs great with new dependable LS. Ill be back for AC next.

Had a radiator replaced on a 2001 Dodge Intrepid , when that was being replaced Shawn noticed my fuel pump leaking fuel after the car was turned off, I had noticed the gas smell previously but didn t take care of it. He sent me a short video of the leak in action, gave me a couple of choices in repair options, the repairs were completed in 1 day , and you can tell he really cares about the work he s doing by the way he talks about and explains the process. We normally do our own maintenance & repairs on our vehicles, but when we started having more complex exhaust problems, we needed a professional. Shawn diagnosed the problem within a couple hours and gave a very detailed explanation of the tests that were run & how he came to his diagnosis. He sympathized with the cost we were about to pay & explained with great detail why it was so much. Other shops we called had lower prices, but just wanted to get us off the phone & wouldn't answer our questions about the quality of the replacement parts. AZ Auto Mechanix gave us an estimate of when the repairs would be complete & held to the delivery date. He even checked in a few days later to make sure we passed emissions and the car was running fine. Definitely trusting him with other repairs we can't do on our own in the future!Service: Exhaust

Shawn took my car in when I had the engine blown and he laid down the list of choices I had depending on my own budget. He ended up giving me a choice and we both agreed on it. Shawn bought and installed my Block on my 2013 Subaru Wrx. Shawn did not hand me the keys until it met his satisfaction and his standard. Once I received my car, nothing was needed AT ALL. Shawn handed me my car with everything it needed. He even threw on extra parts that I liked and payed for. I had an engine & transmission swap build I wanted to do have done. I ve called shops all over Phoenix until I came across Shawn & Ashley at Az Auto Mechanix. They changed my axel seals and transmission seal.Shawn the owner worked on my car, he did the work quickly and was very informative and professional. Prices are very fair. I would highly recommend his shop if you need a good and fair macanic.

Sean is a pleasure to work with, he guarantees his work and gets the job done right. I ve seen him for two separate occasions with problems on my truck and both times he has got it done in a timely manner. I even sent my girlfriends family there and he took care of there mechanical issues as well. I d highly recommend his service if your looking for an honest, communicative and great mechanic.

Shawn is hands down the most authentic honest mechanic I have ever worked with. He doesnt beat around the bush with information to scare you into spending more than necessary. Every time he has been straight forward and aims to make things as cost effective as possible. In the world of mechanics, I feel this is a very rare quality. I will forever be a customer here. This was my first time leaving a mechanic happy with my experience! I called every mechanic in the area asking for quotes, not only was Shawn clear, upfront and honest about his quote, but his customer service was much better than everyone else's. He even ended up charging me less than what he quoted because he felt that was what the job was worth. I absolutely plan on only using him for any of my mechanic needs in the future and will be recommending him to my family and friends.

I had a check engine light blinking due to my catalytic converters which my car has two and was unable to drive my vehicle. Sean had my vehicle repaired and back on the road in no time! My job requires me to put a ton of miles on my car so naturally I am in need of repairs more often than I would like.I had been referred to Effin Best (Shawn) a few months back from a buddy of mine after voicing my frustrations in dealing with a Nissan dealer. I felt as though I was getting ripped off and after speaking to them, I found out I was. He was extremely transparent, honest, knowledgeable and he made the entire process much less intimidating. Not to mention his pricing was competitive and his parts come with warranties on them.Why am I just now posting? I had my radiator crack in Avondale yesterday afternoon. He told me to get it to him when I can and he will do what he can to get it done quickly. I paid out of pocket for the tow from Dysart & McDowell in Avondale to his shop because I knew I would be in good hands. He has since sent me on my way, car performing flawlessly.If you're like me and you just want someone you can trust for repairs, Shawn at Effin Best is your guy and I am willing to bet you will feel the same way after your first experience with them.

First off, Shawn was professional, friendly and when it came down to business, he was serious. I needed an engine rebuilt and he was able to deliver! He kept me updated with pictures and constantly called and texted me whenever there was another issue. I would recommend Shawn to anyone in need of a serious rebuild or other mechanical problems. Open and honest car repair has been rare in my experience. This shop goes out of its way to show you pictures of the problems it finds with your ride and discuss your options in detail. A chance to look at the replaced parts tells more about what was wrong with your ride before it was repaired and gives confidence that replacement parts were necessary. I had taken my car (1999 Z28) to Shawn at AZ AUTO MECHANIX to have the motor rebuilt and a few other things fix on the car to get it back to new. I was Beyond impressed on the work that was done to the car. The work was very professional. He kept in touch the hole time he had the car and the progress of it.
