Old West-style resort with rustic cabins, a quaint eatery/bar, a rodeo arena & nightly campfires. Once owned by a notorious 19th-century gunfighter, this Old West-style resort on a secluded cattle ranch is 10 miles from the rim of the Grand Canyon and 35 miles from Route 93. Featuring cowboy-themed decor such as wagon wheels and saddles, the custom-built pine cabins sleep 2 to 5 guests, and have porches, fireplaces or wood-burning stoves, and en suite bathrooms with showers or antique claw-foot tubs. Some cabins add loft bedrooms. Linens are provided. Nightly campfires offer live music. There's also a lively rodeo arena and a rustic restaurant/bar. Guided horseback treks, wagon rides and helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon are extra.

We did not stay here. It looks like a great rustic establishment with cabins and tents for those that want to experience the old west. I saw guests returning on horseback when we arrived. We were visiting the Grand Canyon west and saw this place as we were driving in - about 15 miles before you reach the canyon. We saw the restaurant sign and decided to stop in for a meal on the way back out. The staff were super friendly and welcoming fur dinner. I had the best BBQ ribs! It fell off the bone! The meal even included desert! An older cowboy was playing the guitar and singing when we arrived which was fun. Looks like a nice family atmosphere offering different cowboy experiences-worth looking into in the future!

If you are looking for an authentic weekend in the west look no further than Grand Canyon Western Ranch. I ve never experienced a more kind, thoughtful staff- Cowboy Casey, Theresa, Reba, Tyler, Cat, were only a few wonderful people we got to meet. When you enter the ranch you are immersed in the no grid life, horseback riding, shooting range, and many more amenities. Wonderful food in a family style restaurant, best prime rib I ve ever had. Sitting around the campfire with other guests and roasting marshmallows while listening to Casey sing and play is something I ll never forget. Quick 15 min ride to the Grand Canyon. Thank you for this amazing experience and will be back again! -Mike and Carolyn

We just left this special ranch today. The room was really clean and comfortable (there were 4 of us). The restaurant was delicious and every night cowboy Dave set up a fire where he would sing and tell stories while we ate smores. We went out on a ride with Jennifer and Jonathon which was a blast and went to the gun range with Cowboy Dave, also alot of fun. Every person who works there cares and goes out of your way to make your stay special. There is no reason to look anywhere else when you are visiting the Grand Canyon. My only suggestion is stay more then one night versus treat this as a quick stop along the way to the grand canyon.Rooms: There were 4 of us traveling (two adults, a 12 year old and a 15 year old). We went with the cabin that sleeps up to 5 people. It was super clean, had 1 twin bed, 1 double and a bunk bed with a twin bed on top and double below. We had a little porch with rocking chairs out front.Food & drinks: The dining room is great. They serve coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day. The breakfast option was cowboy breakfast (eggs, potatoes, bacon and a biscuit or pancakes and bacon. Dinner was a larger selection of burgers, salads, steaks, rib, chicken, but, club sandwich and really good desserts. There are no other restaurants around so thankfully the food was really good.

The Grand Canyon Western Ranch was an enjoyable trip for my family. It takes you away from the crazy hustle of fast city life and transforms your time into a country western. The staffing is minimal but they make up for it with their attention-to- detail and the southern hospitality. Cowboy Dave is an interesting fella. There is no need for your cell phone because there is no wifi. Open communication with warm bodies individual ...very refreshing to see. What do you without cell phones...you talk, have camp fires, and listen. Your welcome

What an amazing experience we had!We were with some friends at the ranch and everyone felt so good being there. The staff was really nice. The food was good, the cabins were super clean and confortable. During dinner we had a private show by cowboy Dave. In the evening we went outside with cowboy Dave to do a fire (marshmallow, chocolate and cookies included) and we all sang together for 2 hours at least. He is an amazing entertainer (and also very funny)We HIGHLY recommand this place!Nearby activities: Grand Canyon

If you're looking for a place to park your trusty storyteller overnight, look no further than Western Canyon Ranch! We stumbled upon this gem and, lo and behold, the lady at the restaurant said, "No problem!" Not only did they let us park for free, but they also served up a feast fit for cowboys and cowgirls alike. We wanted to be sure to support the generosity of the ranch by dining in their restaurant. The ribs were so tender they practically fell off the bone, and the steak was cooked to perfection. After filling our bellies, we cozied up by the campfire with drinks in hand, serenaded by the one and only Cowboy Casey and his magical guitar. He spun tales about the ranch and its colorful characters spanning over a century. Don't even think about passing up this spot on your way to the west canyon skywalk this place is a slice of cowboy heaven with a side of hilarious history lessons!

We were there for just one night, yesterday 1/24, We loved the place. Bed was comfortable, cabin was so cozy and warm. My husband didn t like that there was no phone signal but this just gives you a chance to simply disconnect from the world and enjoy the music and s mores by the fire with cowboy Dave. Food was amazing. I had the bbq ribs, hubby the steak and we loved it, juicy and lots of flavor. Will definitely bring my kids here next time we come to Arizona. Thank you to the servers and front deskNearby activities: Didn t get to try them but will definitely next time we visit.Food & drinks: Amazing food

My time here was absolutely amazing I really enjoyed how remote it is. We came during December so for the campfire it really couldn't get anymore real. It doesn't get better than trading stories and experiences with others. I really enjoyed talking to the other guests near the campfire as well as Cowboy Dave. It was truly an honor meeting you.Trucker Trino.Rooms: Western style

This place is a GEM! I can't say enough good things about the staff here. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and they have created a wonderful experience here start to finish. If you are looking to see the Grand Canyon or just have a unique experience this is the way to go. I highly suggest the sunset horseback riding and joining the nightly campfire (Arizona Casey is the best!!). It was great meeting the other guests here while also finding it easy to have some downtime alone when we wanted it. We will be back!

A huge and warm thanks to Casey and his team for an incredible stay. After a disappointing visit to the overly commercial and over priced Skywalk / West Rim, this really made our day. This is a warm, comfortable and traditional ranch, packed with fun, family friendly activities, great food and a bar. The campfire and music from Casey really made this even more special. You don't' find moments and memories like this easily and you can't stay much closer to the West Rim without an RV. I hugely recommend staying or stopping by. Thanks again!

2nd closest to west rim. Other camping site looked like nothing compared to ours and only a 7 minutes away. No service on cell phone but so many activities it did not matter! On a road trip for 10 days exploring different states and this stop this hotel by far my favorite. Have free hot chocolate and coffee, free water, free ice, free smores when you go to the camp fire, cowboy sings songs and tells stories at the camp fire! Dinner was great I tried 4 different plates I recommend the ribs!

You have to stay here. Cabins and tents are nice. Very close to western rim of the canyon. Campfires, stories, horseback riding, lasso ing and gun range. The best part is the staff with bubbly Erica for all your needs, friendly Colton taking great care of us on our sunset ride and talented Cowboy Dave and Dana for music and telling stories. Fantastic.

Nice experience welcoming staff, cute cabin nicely decorated and lovely views from the verandah set up with rocking chairs. Restaurant food is ok service a bit rushed we were still eating our mains when the deserts were out on table giving us the feeling we needed to hurry. The entertainer was wonderful made everyone feel welcome and sang a huge variety of songs.

We took a solo trip for our anniversary and a birthday Jan 2023, we didn't know what to expect but we came into a huge surprise. This place is awesome and we highly recommend it. We want to come back again with our family. The well kept, comfy and cozy cabins take you back in time to the western days. Cowboy Casey at the nights campfire was so entertaining, he strummed his guitar and sang for hours as guest joined in singing along. Make your own s'mores around the big campfire was great. Cowboy Casey came up with a song "on the spot" for our Anniversary and my husband's Birthday, these recordings I will forever cherish. The next morning at breakfast Mary and Casey surprised my husband with a slice of birthday cake and again Casey sang an "on the spot" Birthday jingle just for him. The western ranch treated us like family and we will be back one day with the rest of our family.

We just came back from 4 glorious days at the grand canyon and we stayed here. The place was amazing. the rooms so adorable, the food is great and Cowboy Dave has my heart forever. I highly recommend if you are going to the grand canyon to give this place a try. And above all else...they serve alcohol and only 10 miles from the grand canyon.

We only stayed one night, but it was outstanding, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Erica took care of us at checkin and helped a buddy to get on the sunset horse ride. Then we had a great feed in the dinning room followed by an awesome evening around the campfire with Cowboy Dave. If you want to go and spend a night on a ranch, go for a ride, shoot some pistols or just relax in the rocking chairs go here.

Did the sunset horseback riding tour and we had an amazing guide - John! We were a little late but they were very accomodating. The whole trail was beautiful - and at the top, there was a nice man playing guitar and harmonica, educating us about bisons. What an interesting time. Perfect for anniversary activity!

Staff are very friendly and open with the fresh food and nicely prepared breakfast. The ranch has already passed the bright times, facilities are not maintained and we have a bad luck of clogged toilet and cabin on the entrance of the ranch. So morning wake-up guarantee with cars passing (horses are on the other side). Positive is a freshly prepared breakfast which is simple but recommended. No internet and very bad cellular reception so if you wish to do one day of staycation make sure that you free up your agenda.

We enjoyed a tour on horse back, wonderful conversations with others at the campfire and at dinner. Fantastic Steak, great cabin with heater and bathroom. Would recommend it, but do not expect the Hilton, it is a ranch, with real dirt and rustic ambiance. Cell phone service will be poor in the western Canyon area.
