We were traveling through town and had an issue with our old van which needed repair. We were towed in on a Sunday night, and after seeing how busy they were I thought it would have been impossible to make our next accommodation but they did absolutely everything to get us back on the road in time to make it. Matt and Josh in particular explained the repairs and understood our situation which made everything so much easier. We made it back to Vancouver without another issue, and got to enjoy the rest of our trip. We highly recommend University Auto Repair if you re in the area, thank you again.

Great Service. Excursion broke down on our vacation. They got it fixed same day and got us back on the road for a good price. My father in law has his own shop in California and said pricing was correct. If I ever needed something done in their area again I would use them!

Had my oil changed and I had a great experience. I had to go back a few day later because one of my rear coil springs broke. I was not told that they offer loaners until I called and was on hold for a few min. Disappointed they didn t tell me that especially since my car was there for 4 days and getting to work was a struggle with my very late schedule. Also the quote was a few hundred dollars more than I was told which I was definitely not happy about BUT the guys seemed to be cool about it even though I was very cranky and sleep deprived from working so much. 5 stars for the oil change experience but only 3 for the coil change. This is the best rated place in flagstaff for vehicle repair so if I had an issue I would go back again.

University had provided our family with a perfect auto repair record for 5 years straight. We would never use any other repair shop in Flagstaff. Best customer service and quality auto repair track record we have ever experienced. Highly recommend.

I brought my car in because the check engine light was on. They gave me an estimate of $1423 to replace a vapor canister. A valve in the canister was stuck shut, and they said it was so deep in the canister that the whole canister has to be replaced. I had this done at this same shop 2 years ago. I googled what the repair should cost: about $490. I brought my car to another shop and they were able to replace just the valve in an hour for $425. Stay away from this place unless you want to pay literally a thousand extra for a simple repair! Update: after I wrote this the manager called me and they paid the $425 for my repair. I certainly appreciate that, but I still don t have an explanation why their estimate stated the purge valve couldn t be accessed manually when it could, and costing an extra $1,000 more than was actually necessary.

My 2019Nissan Versa had been sitting for over a year. I wanted them to check the fluids using their free visual inspection. I had a flat tire. They said they'd take it to Discount Tire. I tried to charge the car before having it towed over. It would take a charge, then stop. It was towed to them on Thursday. On Friday afternoon a fast talking guy got me on the phone. He said they did a $175 diagnostic on it, then tried to 'fix' the battery. They got it to five per cent, then ten per cent. He explained they could not do anymore diagnostics without replacing the battery which would be $175. The whole bill totalled $510, I guess the other $160 was for trying to 'fix' the battery? I called the tire place and they don't have a record of the tire being brought in.No one from University Auto ever called me with an estimate or asked permission to do any repairs.I sent the store an email today. I asked to be charged only for a visual inspection, to put the battery in and fix the tire. And to call me for authorization. I'm a senior on a fixed income and I can't afford to be overcharged.NEW NOTE. It turns out I did authorize the diagnostic, they have my voice recording of that. They ended up dropping the diagnostic charge and putting in a battery for a total of $308.00. They are putting in a little extra gas in my empty tank. They may be able to put a little air in the flat tire.

these guys are great. they have done everything from simple maintenance to replacing both my front axles. I take my car here all the time when I don't have the patience or expertise to work on it myself. great customer service, fair pricing, overall honest mechanics. I recommend them to everyone I know.

We have taken our vehicles to University Auto Repair for years and love working with them. They always provide excellent service, stand behind their work, and have shared many invaluable recommendations and expertise for each of our vehicle's specific needs. There is a reason they have received the Best of Flagstaff Award for many years; they are really good at what they do!

The staff are great and super helpful. Our vehicle broke down and they shuttled our family of 6 to a local hotel, while we waited for diagnostic and repair options. I highly recommend University Auto Repair.

Recently had issue with my used Honda I purchased in July. Chris took my case when other shop was minimizing matter. He troubleshot my symptoms of car & got me an appointment next day. He treated me with caringness like it was his own car. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable & patient with my questions. The rest of crew interact as a team when I phone for updates. They breakdown costs for me so I can compare with others to make decisions. When i checkin my vehicle for appointment it's quick & can use their shuttle for rides. The veteran mechanics have handled my vehicles for my adult son & 87 year old mom for last 5+ years. Last visit Chris sent his regards to my mom. Customer service at it's finest! Thank you UA.

My van overheated on my trip from Kirkland, WA to Phoenix AZ. I was towed there by AAA who said University Auto was on their list of approved auto repair shops. They were great! I was of course a little freaked out from the whole experience. They explained what they would do and the worse case scenario (which didn't happen thank goodness). They gave me, my passenger and 2 pets with our stuff, a ride to the local Doubletree. They kept me informed of progress and diagnosis of the problem. They worked on and completed the diagnostic and repair quickly given they had a zillion cars they were working on. Got me out of there in a day & 1/2 (towed there Monday afternoon, repair done by Wednesday am). Relatively expensive (but what isn't). But they were great - I was very satisfied with their service. If I was in Flagstaff and needed auto work done I'd go there for sure.

My car is already experiencing the same issues it had when I brought it in after a fairly expensive repair just 4-5 days ago. I made all the recommended repairs at that time. All this being said, they fixed it up enough for me to get it home (~150 miles). Not sure how I feel about things yet, hence the mid review.

Great communication, I would receive updates on the progress of my car repair. Transparent with what work has to be done. Each time I've taken my car here, I have driven away in a noticeably better feeling car. They might cost a little more in labor, but the quality of work and warranty make it well worth to me.

Stay away!!! I broke down 100 miles from Flagstaff while moving to Arizona. We got an estimate of what needed to be done etc.Took four days to be done and because of it being Graduation weekend was difficult and expensive to get a hotel. They said it would be done in a couple of days and then it took 4 more days. Was fixed and charged 3,200 to fix. A few months later my air doesn't work in Arizona and after I over heated in the my car took back to local Phoenix repair shop. After inspection found out that 2 of the parts needed replaced at University Auto were not put in. After many back and forth emails with their supervisor he admitted it was a technical error they "forgot to put them in." Also took pictures of the original manufacturer's parts I paid to replace! Was offered a very insulting offer to refund the experiences we had. Basically this place likes to ripe off women! Stay away!!

University Auto Shop provide great customer service with features like their courtesy shuttle and mini fridge that is always stocked. However, in the two times I had been there, they had tried to take advantage of me, and continue to take advantage of college students and their parents' money through various tactics. One of the shop workers Chris, when explaining a diagnostic report or an issue with your car, will speak incredibly fast and using advanced auto jargon in order to confuse customers and scare them into paying for services that are either not best practices and/or are way above market price. Their shop minimum seems to be $155 regardless of the service performed, even if it's less than 1 hour of labor. Was quoted way over market price for just 2 brake pads and apparently new rotors, when one other call to a shop down the street generated a quote at almost half of hte price. When they are busy and know their services are in high demand, their customer service goes out the window and most staff become pretty rude and curt. Jonathan, another shop worker, was nice and courteous, but also gives the impression of scaring customers with the fear of 'risk' and 'what-if' in order for the customer to pay large amounts of money for services right then and there. Just don't feel good about taking my car there anymore even if it's a convenient location and the customer service is good if you overpay for their services.Edit: Another auto place I took to get my brakes to, literally showed me my old brakes and measured the pads in front of me. Measured 3.2mm - 3.46mm. University Auto told me the width was 1-2mm and that it was 'dangerous' to drive on the road, which makes me think either they measured incorrectly or intentionally told me a smaller width in order to pressure me to buy brakes right then and there.

Work was done well. They replaced my fuel pump. Got me right in, took a while to get the part. Ended up being four days but over a weekend that they are closed. Thought part was ordered on Friday expected it to be done in Monday. Ended up being completed by Wednesday. Matt, I assume was a manager, was very responsive and followed through on what he told us. I can t say really anything good about our service representative as there was no communication from him whatsoever and I called to find out the status several times. Was told he would get us an update but never happened several times. All in all I think they did a good job mechanically on my truck. It was nice they got it in even though it took a little while to complete.

Communication from them was terrible. Had to take vehicle back because of faulty part. Was told transmission was in there possession at end of December. Wasn't done until 3 weeks later. Brakes also done and had to be redone. With me being warranty work it didn't seem that I was a priority. They had vehicle for 2 months and unless I called didn't give me updatess until I got upset. I understand that things happen but I was told excuses for why it wasn't done. People calling in sick, parts that were needed for other vehicles not getting there because of snow. I was extremely disappointed and I used to tell others to go there but I wouldn't recommend them for large jobs.

University Auto is a life saver! Car was dead. Got jump start and barely made it before they closed. They provided a ride home, identified the problem early the next day, very reasonable price and had the car back to me before closing. So grateful to Chris for always making me feel well taken care of and treated well. Have gone here for years. Never disappointed

Well your shop came highly recommended but I was very disappointed to be charged $167 for a diagnosis l never received and the main part I needed tested the mechanic did not even have the tool to tested so I had my car taken to another shop for a second opinion seem like alot of people I sat there and saw was told all the same thing and lowered my trust and your men talk a lil slick and fast for me to trust them

I had a front headlamp burn out and return to University Auto Repair to see if they could handle the situation. There appeared to be a variety of ways to approach it with a variety of possible price points. After their assessment, we agreed on the pathway to pursue. They finished the job on time and under the budget they had promised, I appreciate the help of Jonathan and the Rest of their team and rate their business highlyService: Electrical repair

Got and oil change, new coolant, and power steering (fluid only) done. $750. They were very friendly but never going back after they take advantage of me like that - those jobs should total up to maybe half of that number at most. Go to Apex instead. They were quick at least
