Our new go to place for our truck. They went above and beyond to get the truck gene working again and fix our broken shock mount the same day we contacted them. Will definitely be using again and worth the drive from phoenix. We greatly appreciate yall fitting us in and for finding a place to drop our trailer. Thank you again.

WORST PLACE TO CALL !!!! These are scammers. They would be nice in the beginning on first call, once you are in their shop they will take your truck a part and give you massive estimate (two wheel seal $3618 even we drive into their shop) We told them to put wheels back on and Mitch's attitude change and he was very rude he also threaten us to call authorities. We end up have someone else come out and do it even road service call cost less then 50% then this shop. This is last place you want to call !!!!!! Good luck out there.

Poor work was done on our turbo/ actuator which caused us to be stuck on a mountain road in Utah. We had contacted Mitch who told us to drive slowly, no big deal. Well, when the STOP ENGINE light came on we had to pull over, get a $2000 tow by a big rig tow truck & got excellent repair care by Amen Diesel in cedar city Utah. The repair done by Dead Horse had almost burned our motorhome up. We presented the bill with pictures to Mitch & his response was that we should have called! Side of mountain, over 500 miles, in another state! Not a man of his word, nor does he have employees who know what they re doing. Steer clear.

Dead Horse diesel put a pigtail on my truck and tried to charge us $4500 they held my driver hostage until it was paid. If your broke down I suggest you find someone else. This is a predatory company who will take advantage of you. Thx dead horse

Needed to add plumbing to allow the use of external propane tanks for extended boondocking. Apparently since the kit on the shelf didn t fit, the other two rv dealers in town couldn t do it. Mitch at Dead Horse assembled the necessary plumbing and got it done same day. Very can do , not your typical slick rv money grabbers. The guys at Dead Horse Diesel and R.V. are ethical and do good work at a fair rate. They definitely went above and beyond. Give them a call.

Service call on Memorial day just mechanic guy came and said your engine was bad and charged $995 because contract details that. Never sign on they contract. I called 18:30 p.m and mechanic showing up 20: 21 p.m. Then, it took around 30 minutes to check it and invoice 820.02. I did not agree to pay for that and then call police. (Mechanic step into my truck and trying to took my key and put some locker on my service buttons.)The end story charged $995 for another 1 hour 155. I will go small claim courtNEVER CALL THIS COMPANYSTAY AWAY .....

I found a very remote camping spot off FS525C north of Cottonwood to spend a week. When I went to start my Mercedes Sprinter 3500 diesel, I smelled diesel, popped the hood, diesel was spraying all over the engine compartment. After calling every possible company that might help me, Tyler Facey from Dead Horse RV called me back. When I explained my problem, he said he would know what was wrong within 5 minutes of getting there. He said this so convincingly that I agreed to hire him/his company. Once Tyler arrived he found the problem in less than 60 seconds. Pack rats had chewed through the high pressure diesel fuel lines. Tyler told me he could fix this. He had to improvise with fittings and hoses as it would not be practical to get these parts from a Mercedes dealer. On a 1 - 10, Tyler is a 20. This guy is a brainiac diesel mechanic and probably much more. He saved the day. THANK YOU TYLER!!!update 4.22.19We went back out FS525C, found a very private spot to camp for 4 days, on the way back out, the spare tire rack/holder was ripped apart by rocks, the spare tire fell to the ground. After digging for an hour I was able to get tire out from under van. I duct taped tire rack/frame together, limped back to Cottonwood, pullled into Dead Horse Diesel and RV, asked for Tyler. He quickly assessed the problem, made repairs to spare tire rack/frame and had us back on the road within an hour. Tyler saves the day, again. Thank you Tyler!

DO NOT CALL THEM !!!!!! Those are scammers and delusional. They would cancel service them selfs if they don t like that you would question them about delay and rates and then they would threaten you with authorities and for some reason in there insanity they think if they did not show up for service that s means they owe your title on vehicle and threaten you if you tell them that you file complain with BBB or leave feedback. This is last place you want to call !!!!!! Good luck out there.

These people went above and beyond. They found us a place to drop our trailer as our truck and trailer wouldn't fit in their shop area. 150 inch sleeper with step deck. They ran to phoenix to locate all parts for our generator and our broken shock mount which needed an emergency repair due to urgent freight. They stayed late into the evening to ensure they got our generator on truck running and fixed our broken shock mount. We'll work driving from phoenix to them for needed repairs. Definitely earned our business and appreciation. Thank you so so much.

THESE ARE THIEVES. EVEN UPON TELLING & SENDING PICTURES AND VIDEOS ABOUT THE HOSE (THE PROBLEM) THEY CAME AND MADE 3 HOURS MINIMUM CHARGES JUST TO INSPECT THE PROBLEM AGAIN. AND THEN THEY SAID THEY NEED TO BRING THE PART FROM 1.5 HOURS AWAY FOR WHICH THEY CHARGED US USD 900 DOLLARS ONLY TO BRING THE PART.THIEVES. THIEVES. CROOKS. BUNCH OF CROOKS.THEY TOOK THE KEYS OF TRUCK AND THREATEN US TO PAY FIRST OR OTHERWISE WILL TOW THE TRUCK AWAY AND IMPOUND IT. FOR JUST CHANGING A HOSE, THESE GUYS MADE A BILL OF USD 2000.AND THEN THREATENED US TO IMPOUND THE TRUCK AND TOW THE TRUCK AWAY.

THEY WILL STEAL YOUR STUFFI dropped a small generator off to them for repair and they said they would call me in a few days. I called my self a few days later and was told they would work on it and call me later in the week. Never got a call. Then, I forgot about it for a few weeks and got busy with work, still never getting a call about the repair or job being complete. I call back and they tell me they don't have it and they don't have record of ever having it. I have an image of the sheet of paper they had me sign and I will be taking them to small claims court to get back the value of the $2,000 generator. SCAMMERS!

The morning we were supposed to leave an RV park our slide was stuck out and wouldn t retract. We called their service through coachnet and in about an hour and a half they came out and got our slide retracted just in time for us to check out of the park. He diagnosed the issue (broken circuit for the slide switch) and showed us where to order the replacement piece.

I worked for them for 2 days. On my 2nd day I answered the phone and a customer was inquiring about a part that was paid for 2 months ago but had not been received. I put customer on hold and asked the gentleman training me about it and was told to tell him the part was stuck somewhere on a container ship and we had no control over that. The customer was not happy about that at all and wanted a refund. I was told to transfer him to the owners cell phone. Again the customer was not happy about that but I did anyway. When I hung up the call, the gentleman training me says "I honestly don't even know if that part was ever ordered." I was so mad. I texted the owners wife and explained the situation and after that decided that was not the job for me.The owner contacted me thru messenger wanting me to change my review of this business. I thought about it but changed the written review to say exactly what happened. I also went thru all the reviews and noticed a pattern. The owner takes no responsibility for any review that is 3 stars or less. It's always the opposite of what the customer or the person writing the review stated.I will say the owner has grown in some ways from back in the day however something is still slipping through the cracks.... Accountability. I mean no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes and it's okay to admit fault and fix it. I need to add the owner putting my personal issues on this review should say a lot. I've not begged for anything. I've placed an ad looking for a place to park my trailer to live in and asked for help with money for gas once. The 2 days I did work for him, I was never paid for. I too can post our conversations with his wife and the messages from I assume Mitch wanting me to change my review and telling me he would remove his reply if I changed it.

We were stranded on the highway for 4-5 hours, talked to Shannon, the mechanic.....in the conversation we felt this would probably be a good place to have our pickup and 28 trailer towed to. We were right, they definitely helped us, we parked our trailer there, Shannon said our pickup WOULD get fixed and it did! We were towed there late one night, they diagnosed it the next day, had to drive to phoenix to get the part, and he got it fixed about 7:30 that night and we left early the next morning. We are grateful for their help!! Plus they recommended we call Johnson s Towing which was good!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

The guys here are super knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had. Place is very organized as well. Lots of items to chose from. Overall, I really liked this shop. It s also locally owned and not a major corporation so supporting locals is best.

Called about getting an exhaust brake installed in my duramax. Made an appointment for a Tuesday dropoff and was told it would be done by the same afternoon. Afternoon comes and no phone call from them so I called and was told it would be Wednesday afternoon. Called again Wednesday afternoon and was told it would now be Thursday afternoon. Thursday afternoon comes and still no phone call! I called again and was told they would be staying late to finish it and would drop it of at the Cottonwood store when complete. I emphasized it needed to be done as I was using the truck to tow my trailer to Phoenix Friday for another appointment. Got a call 15 minutes after that conversation and was told the truck was on its way back to Cottonwood but NO work had been done on it! Complete failure to communicate with me all 3 days! A very waste of my time and energy with this company. Not sure how they stay in business with that kind of customer interaction. Maybe they didnt really know how to perform the work but I got no explanation other than they had "complications". This whole scenario could have been avoided with a little honesty and a mere phone call to reschedule. I will go elsewhere.

Edited Review:Please do not get work done here. They employees do not know what they are talking about. Randee didn t even know the difference between a deep cycle battery and a starter battery. They are extremely unprofessional and rude to their customers. They will not admit fault and are over charging us for their mistake. We were supposed to go get more work done but decided against it. When we said the battery was on the right we meant from standing in front of the vehicle. As a professional you should have clarified passenger or drivers side. You should also know the difference between a house battery and a starter battery, they are completely different. You said you called to see if you should test it.... why would you do that when testing it takes less time than contacting the customer. We may have said right side but we also said house and that is pretty evident which is which considering one says deep cycle on the side. The deep cycle battery you replaced it with from o Reilly cost LESS than the starter battery we paid for. You are lying to us about the cost and we should be getting a refund. We were originally quoted $120 for a deep cycle battery from your receptionist and then was told you upgraded us. The second mechanic we hired said you overfilled the oil and didn t even tighten the battery. Overall I recommend taking your business elsewhere. Difficult to communicate with and not trustworthy. And if the deep cycle house battery does cost more than the starter battery PROVE IT. We asked for a receipt and it could not be provided. I went to o Reilly, I know the prices and I know you guys are not being truthful. Why would I ever go around the country doing this. This did not benefit me in any way. I only have two google reviews and none on yelp. Unfortunately this was the first time has happened to me and hopefully no one else has to experience. Very weird accusation. People can see how unprofessional just by reading your responses to reviews. Good luck.Services: Battery, Oil change

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!I ll try to be brief but long story short was that they lied to us every step of the way! Our tow vehicle (Freightliner Sport Chassis) had a diesel leak one morning when we started it up. Called a few mechanics before we found this company that said they could work on this type of vehicle. They sent the mechanic out who showed up in his personal vehicle, (not a work truck) with his wife in the front seat on his way out of town. He just looked at where the leak was and said he would make some calls on his way to Phoenix and find the part and would give us a call back. No call all day! Called him the next morning and his office said part was ordered and it would be in Monday. I asked to speak with the mechanic and they said they would have him call me ..crickets all day. That was a Friday. Monday morning we called first thing and was told part was supposed to be in and they would come out as soon as it was in. By 3:30 we had heard nothing so we called. The office said they would have the mechanic call. Again, crickets! Called back an hour later and was told they couldn t order the part because it was nowhere to be found and they couldn t do anything for us!!!! I specifically asked the guy on the phone how that could be the case when you told me on Friday and today that the part was ordered but not here yet. Now your telling me you can t even order it because it s nowhere to be found??? He said he was just repeating what was told to him. We were supposed to have our trailer out on Tuesday and the park had to do some major rearranging so we could stay. We immediately called the Cummins distribution center and found the part in Tucson, Albuquerque and Fontana. We opted to drive to Tucson to pick it up the next day instead of waiting for delivery. We also found another mechanic to work on the truck. Funny thing is, once he actually worked on it instead of just looking at it, it didn t even need that part, the leaking line just needed to be tightened!!! Believe me, if I could give negative stars, this would be the company to give it to!

Our rear airbag line had broken and I did a repair alongside the road. When we arrived at our RV spot I noted the airbag was not holding air. DHD arrived and quickly deduced that the air line was not pushing into the airbag valve far enough. They fixed the issue and used some zip ties to make sure the airline stayed in place. They were both very friendly and the price charged was very reasonable. I would highly recommend their service.

Be aware, horrible service. It took them months for an insurance claim to replace my ac unit and recoat my roof. When I finally confronted mitch why it's taking so long he blamed it on wind we didn't have, then he got mad at me for even asking about it. When his guys finally got there they didn't have all the parts for the job, so I merely said it's not your fault mitch doesn't communicate well and is hard to deal with. 5 minutes later mitch called me yelling at me "what's the problem" needless to say his guys work looks like 5 year old kids painted on the roof coating and ruined my slide out seals. Do not use this place for any thing

Charged over $1400 for a service call to replace an alternator. Next day we were back at a different shop because of a squeaking noise and some other repairs to the truck. We were told that the alternator that Dead Horse installed was defective and making that noise. We requested a repair invoice and a receipt so we can warranty the alternator. Its been a week and I cant get either. I have reached out to Rush Truck Center in Flagstaff to see if they can help with the Alternator warranty.Stay away or get burned. We had to pay twice for the same repair and made numerous requests just to get a repair invoice. No Luck. They were quick to grab payment but now want nothing to do with us or the faulty part they installed on our truck.

My husband and I are on the road traveling from Montana to Texas trying to get home for Thanksgiving. We noticed our camper was burning through tires so, we called around town looking for a mechanic to check it out for us. Mitch and his team were the only RV repair place that would even get us in within a two week time frame. Our camper had bent axles and a list of other tire related problems. It was going to take 8 weeks just for parts to arrive. Within minutes Mitch came up within an idea that was faster and saved us money, he built a new suspension system. Not only that, he did it within 4 days so that we could get back on the road in time for Thanksgiving. We can't thank Mitch and Kendra for their kindness and hard work. Innovative and thoughtful.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

great experience with Dead Horse. I lost 2 vent covers on my trailer on my way into town and it was hot and stormy. They opened their store after hours and during their move to help me out. Definitely good people, highly recommend their business.

ReviewTLDR: I haven t seen Mitch own up to a single mistake. When people leave him an honest review, he spins it around to make the customer seem like the bad guy. They never once apologized for the mix up. 0 STARS. Worst customer service I ve ever received. Read my friend Lauren s review for the whole story.Basically, they replaced the starter battery on our camper instead of the house battery. I will admit I wrote on the Pre-work order that the battery was under the hood on the right. However, the right is subjective yet they assumed it as meaning the passengers side without even clarifying. I also stated on the work order AND over the phone that to my knowledge, courtesy of O Reilly, our HOUSE battery was unstable. Reminder: house and chassis batteries aren t even the same type of battery! House vs chassis is not subjective, as they are wired differently in the vehicle and perform two entirely different functions. Yet they replaced a perfectly good starter battery instead. When I expressed my concerns that they had changed the wrong battery, I was told over the phone that they were sure they had replaced the house battery and that [they] are professionals, [they] do this for a living . What professional takes a perfectly GOOD battery out of a car?We went back in to have them fix the job and they told us the deep cycle battery was $100 more than the other battery, trying to make it seem as though they are doing us a favor. But we know they get the batteries from O Reilly and the deep cycle battery with the same part number is $100 at O Reilly, whereas a starter is usually $120+. I would not have written this review if it weren t for the fact that I know they are being dishonest about the price. Mitch will not provide proof for how much they paid for the second battery, nor will he provide proof of how much WE should ve paid for the battery. I can only assume that s because they don t want to be caught in a lie!Now they are trying to accuse my friend and I of going around the country and doing this to lots of people?!? Mitch, you are delusional if you think that s the case. We simply want evidence of how much you paid for that battery because it s not cool to scam people. Based on the other reviews here, I think I can confidently say that YOU are the one doing this to people from all over the country. This is the first mechanic we ve seen since we started traveling a few months back. Stop taking advantage of people who are entrusting you with their vehicles that are often, as in our case, also their homes!!!Not only are they being dishonest about the price, when we first addressed the mix up, they were incredibly rude, defensive, and dismissive instead of simply owning the fact they made a mistake! As a business owner, you should always first assume the customer is right! Because in this case, I, the customer, was indeed right, yet I was patronized multiple times by multiple people working at this establishment.Be cautious about giving these guys your money! There are other mechanics around town that will do a better job for a much better price.Services: Battery, Oil change

Fantastic service and help. Pulled in an hour before closing with a retractable step on Sprinter RV that was going to fall off after bottoming out several times. Owner and Randy stopped what they were doing and repaired the step jn less than an hour and then looked at electrical problem free of charge well beyond closing. This place is honest and competent - poor reviews do not fit with my experience at all. Very grateful for the emergency help and a pleasure meeting these guys.

Lost Braking Air Pressure along I-17N FMCA RSA sent Mitch as the Mobile RV Service. The Team, Mitch Tony and Josh quickly determined One of the Air Tank Pressure Relief Pop Off Valves had a slow leak. Also one of the Air Bag Leveling Arm had broken and the Coach was leaning. We ordered the parts when they came in they were installed that day and I was on my way. I own William Thomas Mattress Gallery in Cwd. I am Local. I dont know what or why some of the bad reviews. My experience was great. I know Ms. Heather must be a great Mom, she had the patience of Job with me as we found the parts and waited . She understood this Motorcoach was my Million Dollar Baby, Retirement Gift. A Foretravel IH-45. Bottom Line they did good by me. We are brand new to the rv world, this was our first rv adventure and we ended up having to get help. We tried our best and it wasn t working. We called Dead Horse diesel and rv repair, they arrived within 30 minutes and got us starting our adventure. We were embarrassed to have to call but we had no choice even the campers around us couldn t help us. They were understanding, showed us the problem, which wasn t our fault, woohoo! While here they gave us good tidbits and even tried to help a fellow camper that unfortunately locked their keys in their car. During Covid customer service went to trash and so did friendliness but not at Dead Horse Diesel and RV! Thank you for helping us and saving our adventure!
