My husband and I had the absolute BEST time on our honeymoon with Snowhook. We did the dog sledding/snowmobiling combo tour and had such a great day. All of the employees are so welcoming and kind and entertaining! We got to learn all about dogsledding, meet the sweetest dogs, go on the most beautiful dogsled ride and then have the best time on the snow machines! Pattie, Lindsay, and Matt as well as the rest of the crew are all awesome! So thankful we got to experience this! If we are ever back in this part of Alaska we will definitely return!

We had the best time at Snowhook! We opted in for the 2 days / 1 night combo tour which included dog sledding, lunch, a 30 mile snow machine drive to the cabins, dinner, overnight stay, breakfast, and snow machine tour back! Great value for an all inclusive 24 hrs! Our guides (Lindsey and Ryan) were awesome and very friendly! Justin the owner was awesome and has created an awesome winter oasis (: the views were magical and the cabin was so cozy and warm! The drive from Anchorage was easy on a well plowed highway. Make this a stop when you re in Anchorage / Willow!

SO MUCH FUN! I went on two separate days: snow machines & combo with ice fishing and dog sleds! I can t recommend this place enough. They offer snow suits, gloves, helmets, glasses, boots- anything you d need. The snow machine trip was through the trails, open ride time on a lake, and even got to stop to see an eagle and Denali. Ice fishing was just great conversation, an overall cool experience, and I brought home dinner! I love their dogs, and you can see how much they do too! There are so many that just love what they re doing. It s hard work for those guys too! I recommend this place to everyone. I had a great time visiting & I ll be back!

We did a combo tour, ice fishing and dog sledding. Although we couldn t catch any fish, the calmness and the beauty of the lake where we fished was indescribable. The dog sledding was the most exciting experience we ve ever had. The dogs were just so energetic full of excitement and adorable at the same time. Other mushers were so kind and thoughtful that as we were separated into 3 sleds (a family of 5) they subtly gathered us in a vast field and took our family photo. It will be our treasure. At the end, we had a chance to see the puppies and they were just adorable and energetic. We had a great time!

Such an amazing and fun experience!!! Highly recommend Snowhook. We chose the dog sledding, snowmobile, and Northern Lights package. They set us up with a super warm snowsuit and boots right away. The guides were fantastic and knew their stuff! We really appreciated all the background and information shared about dog sledding before we went out on the sled. It gave us a better perspective on the sport and it's very interesting. You can tell they truly love all the dogs. Snowmobiling was a lot of fun and the trails and views were beautiful. Mother nature decided not to show us the lights and it snowed instead. But even the snow was so magical. The cottage accommodations were great and we were fed very well. We are already talking about going back and doing the tours again. You will not regret booking with Snowhook!

My husband and I stayed two nights & three days and I would recommend the same amount of time and if they had more days available we would have stayed longer . We started off with dog sledding and the views and the knowledge that the staff has was incredible. Then after we had lunch and ended up snowmobiling up to the cabins , can t recall the actual amount but over 26 miles and worth it you stop along the way and take the scenic route and end with a beautiful sunset . You get the cabins and they are so comfy and the sheets are so soft. They have shower s at the cabins as well . Then a beautiful hang out spot with an amazing cook name Jeff, but he is more than just a cook is it the do it all handy man, great personality and so welcoming and the first night up there at the cabins we got to see the northern lights and Jeff gives you a lessons on how to find it . So much information. Then we went ice fishing and caught a few fish and it was a nice day out on the lake , the sun was beating down . There chairs for people to sit as well as tent and a heater if you get cold . Keep in mind we came here during January . The staff make you feel like family , and nothing less they are all so friendly & very family oriented. This place is a 10/10 and if I can give it more stars I would . For our first time to Alaska everything was WORTH IT .

Great experience!!! Totally worth it. A lifetime memory to be honest. Everyone is so friendly, warm (despite being 11 out there) and knowledgeable. Peter (our guide) is a real dog-sled racer since 93. So kind, nice and truly an expert. So many stories to listen to. I m bringing my entire family next time.

We chose Snowhook adventures after doing a bit of research on tours & this fit the bill for what we could do in our time in Alaska. Our overnight tour was great with all the guides being friendly, informative and relaxed. The accomodation was beautiful with Jeff making some great meals and explaining how the Aurora works.Dogsledding was unreal and seeing all the dogs is a memory we won t forget as is how cold it is in Alaska! Thank you to Justin and the team for opening this part of the world up to us, it s a great experience and worth booking!

Amazingly EPIC Experience! From the moment we drove on site to when we had to sadly leave, Snowhook was incredible! Every single team member was amazing, especially MaryAnne, Jessi, Lindsay, Jeff (aka Aurora Borealis Expert and Chef Extrodinaire), Ryan, and Justin! We started with dog sledding! We were educated on the Iditarod Race and Mushing, we met the beautiful dogs, and then we rode on a sled. Our guides were lovely and clearly passionate about mushing AND their dogs. Then we went on a 2 hour snowmobile adventure to the cabins by Hatcher's Pass. As someone with zero experience on a snowmobile, I felt totally confident riding and made it safely to our destination. We made different stops along to way to take in the awesome surroundings. Once we were in "camp" we were catered to by the one and only Jeff. As someone who refuses to actually camp, their setup was ideal! The cabins were heated, had electricity, and the MOST comfortable beds you could imagine. They even had toilets and running water! The lodge is fully stocked with drinks, snacks, cards, games, and a TV. Then Jeff cooked us dinner, which was delicious, and taught us all about the Northern Lights. Please consider yourself lucky to be Jeff's student, he is passionate and so well informed, truly wonderful! Jeff stayed up ALL night monitoring the conditions and woke us up at the hint of a Aurora Borealis display. The next morning Jeff made us a delicious breakfast and helped us get ready to snowmobile back to base. Another 2 hour ride, taking a different route for even more inspiring views, and we were back "home". Our experience completely exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend! 15 stars out of 10. Seriously, if you want to experience Alaska, go to Snowhook!!!

We had an amazing time dog sledding at Snowhook. I couldn't recommend it enough. It was a magical experience for a southerner from down south. As an educator, I also loved meeting Patsy, one of Balto's decedents. I was thankful for the extra gear provided as part of the package.

Our adventure with Snowhook is one I will never forget! My family did the 2D1N Lodge, Dog Sled, Snowmobile & Northern Light Combo tour. The Snowhook facility is one of the most impressive, well-run operations I have ever seen. Our day started with getting picked up at our hotel in Anchorage. Our diver was very friendly, and even made a stop on the way up so we could get coffee. Once we arrived at Snowhook, we were promptly checked in and outfitted in their warm snow boots and suits. Then we were given a brief but very interesting lesson on the Iditarod and dogs. After this, we headed up to the dog yard where we got to meet all the pups as the team got them ready for sledding. The dogs are so friendly and well cared for. It is clear that he owners, Justin and Rebecca, care deeply about the dogs and treat them like family. Dog sledding was one of the most amazing experiences! The pictures speak for themselves After dog sledding, we had chili for lunch then Matt got us started on snowmobiles. It was my first time on a snowmobile and his instructions made it so easy to get the hang of! He started out nice and slow until we got the hang of it, then let us have some fun! It was about a 2.5 hour snowmobile ride up to their overnight cabins. Once we arrived at the cabins, we were greeted by Jeff who is an absolute enigma lol. We absolutely loved Jeff, maybe as much as we loved the dogs! Their cabins are brand new and so nice. The bathroom is separate, but just steps away from the cabins. It s all warm and cozy! Jeff cooked us dinner and taught us all about the northern lights, but unfortunately it dumped a foot of snow overnight, so Aurora didn t come out for us. It was still cool to learn about them, and we were very entertained at the cabins. The next morning we had breakfast, went out for another snowmobile ride, then headed home! Overall, this experience was incredible and I would definitely do it again. The Snowhook team puts so much care into every aspect of their tours. Don t miss out!

Amazing experience riding snow machines! The staff is friendly and professional. We had 2 children in the snow coach during our tour and they absolutely loved it! It was nice being able to include the kids in an amazing experience like this. Thank you for showing us an awesome time and ensuring our safety throughout. Highly recommend!

Our sled dog ride with Snowhook was a blast much more exciting than we expected, like a roller coaster ride thru the woods. Justin was an awesome guide. A real bucket list item checked off.

My friend and I came in October and we had Matt as our guide, he was absolutely stellar. He gave us the history of dog sledding before we headed out to meet the dogs. We felt like we were hanging out with a friend for the morning. There wasn t any snow but we still got to go on wheels and we loved every second of it. Anna was awesome and very personable and was with us as we loved on the sled puppies. We highly recommend!!!

This place is the way to go if you are looking to experience the best Alaska has to offer. There is a ton of experience amongst the staff, and several have run the Iditarod multiple times, and finished. They were all extremely helpful and kind every step of the way (we were there three separate times in a week). It was truly an amazing experience each time, and we can t wait to come back!!!!

The dogs are well cared for and always up for a pat. The paths used are fun with hills and fast slopes. Thoroughly enjoyed the time spent at Snowhook. Great guides and warm clothes borrowed. Would go again and do other of the activities they offer. The driver used to take us to the venue was very helpful and willing to show us around after the event. We saw moose and reindeer on the way back via a few detours.

This was absolutely a highlight of our trip to Alaska - a peak experience!! Justin and his staff are so kind and patient, the sledding was SO FUN. And the puppies!!!! We were early in the season so not a ton of snow - would be even more fun later in the year! 100% recommend - we ll be back!!

I definitely recommend visiting Snowhook Adventure Guides of Alaska. I took a dog sled tour during the fall and had great time at the Snowhook Adventure Guides of Alaska. Directions that were given made it pretty easy to find. They were very accommodating when I had to reschedule the day before. It was truly an amazing adventure. We got to work with Jeremiah and he was so much fun. You get to witness the magnificent strength and agility of a team of Alaskan Huskies working together. To make things even better, you get to hold a few puppies.Thank you to everyone at the Snowhook Adventure Guides of Alaska.

Had a great family time. We had 2 kids and the temperature was -30. Both the musher and the check in team ensured safety first for weather gear and the dog sled. The sled ride had such beautiful scenery, the dogs loved to run and the guide was very informative. Highly recommend this place for families but probably for children over the age of 3 for dog sledding.
