I think this is your only 'in town' camping option. We stayed one night. You're in the trees behind a large parking lot. It was a bit buggy when we were there. Your next to a river and about a 5 minute walk into town. Two portable toilets, both clean. Can't beat the location for convenience, but we also stayed at the city campground down by the tunnel and the views there are hard to beat.

Excellent Campsite and fun for kids. Next to an ice cold creek. The weather is often rainy in Whittier, so plan accordingly. Campsite is rustic, so don't expect modern amenities. It is fun to take the pedestrian tunnel under the train tracks into the oceanfront side of town.

Solid little campground. It says there's a check in area but when we went to check in there was nobody there. There are parking slips cut into the trees that provide some privacy and seclusion although they are decently close together. Coolest thing is the views, there are waterfalls right in front of you. And a short walk toward them leads you to a easy trail you can walk along the rushing water. Going one way on the trail takes you upward to a great view of Whittier and the sound. The trail stops at a certain point with a barrier saying the trail is under construction. Also in the morning we saw a bear right outside of our RV! It was super cool, but also keep in mind for safety. Also walking distance to the town, overall good location for dry camping.

Creekside is a great, no frills campground. Access to beautiful trails right at the campsite. Outhouses available but you can take a short walk for ample public restrooms in town. Plan for rain and be bear aware.

In August, it was a busy campsite, the campsites are very close but at least have tree dividers, there is a stream with rapids that run along the trail next to the campsite with trails to hike around so it creates great white noise for the campground. We met very friendly neighbors and hung out for the night.

Not a lot of interest in structure here, but I'd definitely come back. My girlfriend and i do a lot of traveling out of the back of a vehicle, "Vanping", so we just need a place to park over night. This place has many spots to do that and there were very few people there relative to capacity, so it was kind of our own camp ground. It only has portapotties and a waste dumpster for infrastructure. Right up against the creek, however, with a well groomed trail that takes you upstream.

Town is great and the view is spectacular! The restaurant inside the hotel needs work though. Got treated like I was from a third world country. And the customer service sucks! But the China Sea Restaurant always is a favorite.

This campground is Awesome. It brought me back to the basics. There's no water and there are Outhouses for bathrooms. The hiking trail is right next to the campground. And its beautiful and only $10 a night.

Campground is OK. Dry. Host is inattentive and guests have generators going 24/7. Noisy and not worth the stay. I'd suggest boondocking

It's the only RV place on the Whittier side of the tunnel. On the good side, it is convenient because Whittier only has three blocks so you can walk to everything from this RV park. On the bad side, they know they are the only game in town, so they do absolutely no maintenance. Their road to the campground was worse than any frost-heave road we traveled in the Yukon. Road has huge rocks, deep pits and holes so that you dare not even go the 5 mph speed for fear of serious damage to your RV and/or tow car. It's $20 per night for dry camp with port-a-potty and a dumpster. No water, electricity, sewer or dump. The signage is poor. We actually pulled in around 3 p.m. and no one was there (although posted sign says lot is attended from 9a.m.-6p.m.). With no direction, we parked near some boats and trailers and a few hours later walked up front to pay only to be barked at by the attendant that the posted rates we saw applied to boats, not RVs, and we weren't parked in the right place, move. Went back, re-packed and unleveled, drove further down their horrible, horrible road to the faded campground sign. They could have very positive ratings and reviews if they would just bother to maintain their roads and signage, and improve their employee's attitudes. Too bad they don't have any competition. If we had another opportunity, would not stay here. Would stay on the other side of the tunnel with Portage Glacier place and electricity. Too bad, because other businesses in Whittier (restaurants, gift shops, etc.) will suffer too because RVers will only go to Whittier for the boat tours.

Campsite host was extremely rude when we asked where the dump site was in Whittier. There is no place for RV s to dump in Whittier you have to drive back to Girdwood. We drove around for an hour and half looking for the dump site asking various people. The dump site in Whittier recently became private and you can no longer dump there.

8-28-16, primitive campsites and secluded but it is a very very small town. Greta views of waterfalls and stream

When we arrived at the camground there was nobody around. The place looks like a huge parking for trailers, boats and trucks.
