The Short:I cant speak highly enough of Mark and Side Job Automotive.Mark is extremely knowledgeable and very professional. He takes the time to explain issues and possible repair options. Highly highly recommend using his services!The Long:Mark has answered my call once at 6 am while my work truck was broken down on a job site. We troubleshot the issue (correctly) and we were able to find a solution.Another time Mark diagnosed my check engine light on short notice for an intermittent electrical issue. I was able to get back on the road!Yet another time...Mark answered the phone and gave some advice regarding a 4l80 transmission I was installing (minor goof on my part) while he was on Vacation.Most recently my work truck developed several peculiar issues which were sporadic and affecting various functions. Mark did extensive testing and found a partially melted wiring harness which he repaired. There were a dozen small melted wires touching, sparking, and shorting out. Due to location this was a very low, slow and painstaking electrical repair requiring disassembly of various parts and pieces just to get to the vehicles wiring harness.At the same time he additionally he completed some routine maintenance, swapped fuel system components and sensors, and repaired several lesser issues. He kept me updated on progress and was very easy to work with.Truck runs strong and tows great. Looking forward to the improved gas mileage.Thank you!

Mark went above and beyond. I had break issues on my only vehicle. He worked on it on a Sunday and got it done in less than 24 hrs. Quality work and explained what was going on. Very affordable and professional. He even picked me up when I had no way to get to the shop from my house. Highly recommended. Thank you Mark for getting our dog truck back in action!!

Mark took great care of my 1963 Beetle. Wheel alignment, lowering the car to be level, rewiring the entire car, bringing back to life the horn and other electronics not working, new brakes and drums, new suspension, engine tuning and cleaning, oil change, e brake replacement, among other things. He was fast, honest, and did a good job hunting down parts for good prices. Mark quickly identified and resolved issues with my 4WD and exhaust systems, diagnosed and planned repairs for my intake/fuel system, and replaced my transmission. He kept me up to date on the status of things, and took the time to explain his thought process and troubleshooting steps. I recommend him to literally everyone now, and I ve got plans to bring my truck back to finish the intake/fuel system, and my car for a differential swap. Attached is some photos he sent me of a shift rod he had to swap from old transmission to new transmission and how clean he got it before he put it back in. FAST! RELIABLE! EFFICIENT!I was having trouble getting my car into the shop. I called at least 7 shops and It was months out before somebody could fit us in. My transmission light was flashing and I needed it looked at ASAP so that our teenager could drive it around while she's here. Mark was busy with other cars and really didn't have time for more but he said bring it by anyway and he would at least check it out and see what he could do . When we got back from camping, 4 days later, He was completely done. He found the part we needed, which ended up being a little tricky but got the last one around. The invoice that I received upon arrival was a very reasonable price. I'm so glad he was recommended to us and we'll definitely be using him in the future.Thanks for saving my car!

I found Mark with Side Job Automotive on a recommendation group through Facebook, and he did not disappoint! He is clearly very experienced and seems to have "seen it all", after describing the locking problem with the liftgate on my Ford explorer, he knew immediately what to check first, which turned out to be an inexpensive adjustment, rather than an expensive replacement of any parts. He fixed my annoying problem in less than 10 minutes!! I am so grateful to have discovered such a superb, honest and extremely fair mechanic who knows what he is doing. This is honestly the kind of guy you want working on your vehicle! Mark is knowledgeable in all types of vehicles and goes above and beyond to get the job done. When another local mechanic told me that the part I needed was discontinued (which it was) and could not help me, mark was still able to find me the original part through one of his contacts and it was NEW not some used ebay part as I would have expected for a discontinued part, kept me updated via text the whole while, and perhaps most importantly got the job done at a fair price! Straight shooter, kind service, and clearly very knowledgeable, I would recommend Side Job Auto to anyone. Honestly I have never had a better, easier experience with an auto mechanic, a good guy to know and he deserves your business.

Watching someone like mark operate at the top of their game is always a treat to watch. When your vehicle is the recipient of that enthusiasm and experience its even better. If you want a precise and data driven mechanic with superb communication, look no further.My 94 toyota pickup was ticking, misfiring and running unpredictably. I took my SUV to Mark because my left rear directional light wasn t working. He diagnosed the issue and found that several additional lights didn t work. He found that there was a significant leak in the light assembly. He sealed the leak (I ll try to find a replacement assembly as my vehicle is older) and replaced the additional lights that were out. He is very knowledgeable and completes the work in a timely manner. I will use him for future work on my Explorer.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance

I can t say enough good things about this mechanic. My daughter had just bought her first truck from a private party and it had issues immediately. She was devastated, and of course no other mechanic could get her in for weeks. By luck we found Side Job on a Facebook who to use group. He was able to get us in right away and devoted much time to troubleshooting- it was an issue that was very difficult to diagnose because everything appeared to be normal- but definitely wasn t. Mark was meticulous in going through everything to find the problem.I felt the entire time that he had my daughters best interest- safety and finances at heart. He found the problem, fixed the problem , and communicated all along the way.Mark has decades of knowledge and experience with cars and engines and it s obvious. I went to pick my husband up from Work one night and suddenly, there was little to no power in the engine.... I could floor it and it would barely do more than Idle. I messaged Mark the next day and said HELP!!!And help he did! He explained everything going on in easy to understand language, gave me all my options and price points, was very clear with what he felt would be the best course of action, and *WHY* he felt it would be.His Communication from beginning to end was clear, consistent, quick, efficient. All of his work was as well!Husbands car is up and running for way less than I would have expected for the work that needed to be done. Mark helped me out with the replacement of some wheel bearings on a Volvo. I could not be happier with his service. It was immediately clear that he was a highly-trained professional who knows how to properly fix a car. Although replacing a wheel bearing is a fairly small job, his care and attention to detail was phenomenal. My car had a freak out with a couple lights flashing on, one of them being my check engine, and when I took it to Mark, he diagnosed the problem in two days, figuring out it was my o2 sensor. He fixed it right away once we found out and I picked it up on the morning. Very nice, very fast, and he charged around $95 for labor so pretty reasonable. Thank you mark!Service: Electrical repair

Mark is honest and communicates with his customers. I had a no-crank, no-start situation with my truck and Mark found it to be an intermittent fuel pump module. Quick fix and gave me a fair price for the part and labor. Amazing customer service. I had to have my wheel bearing replaced on my car. Came there dropped it off and it was done within two hours and was negotiable on the price. It was a good experience. I will take all my vehicles back there.
