These guys are awesome! They are now open seasonal for winter tire swap-overs. Not much of a wait time, no BS'ing around. First come, first serve. Notice: NO credit card machine, CASH ONLY (sorry yuppies). Call the number on the billboard trailer out front if you have any questions.

I would love to say that I had a good experience here, however I didn't. My car was stuck going up a hill and these guys were the only place open. I ended up spending over $600+ on studs, which was fine as I'd need them anyway. I bought a whole set, obviously, so when it became spring, I had to have my tires changed. I tried to go back to them and was told that I had to purchase a whole new set of tires in order for them to put my summer tires on.I didn't need a new set of summer tires, so the guy told me he wouldn't switch them. What made me angry is that I had just purchased a new set of studs less than 5 months before. This was the year it didn't snow until very late so I didn't need studs as early as I usually would. I was perfectly willing to pay to have my tires changed over, I'm used to it. But I've never been told that I had to buy a whole new set just to have that happen. I switched over to Diversified Tires and haven't had to buy anything except the cost of the tire switch.

I have never been compelled to leave a review. I have also never been treated with such disregard and disrespect by anyone in any setting. Being newly transferred to Alaska, it is my hope that this is not how I can be expected to be treated.A simple phone call inquiring about tire services, lasting only 13 seconds, the employee told me that he "was not interested in helping (me)" and hung up the phone.I believe in and support local companies, Great Valley Thrift Tire store does not believe in providing that local service. Please find and support those local companies that are "interested" in doing so.

I have worked in the education/sales and spent many years in the military. I needed tires and the tire shops in Eagle River and Anchorage all wanted to sell me new tires. I went on Craigslist and seen Great Valley tires in Wasilla and called them. They got me in with no appointment and sold me a set of used tires and saved me $175.00. Not to mention that they looked like new tires, but they actually cleaned my hubs and rims to get the rust off. This makes a big difference in seating the rims to the hubs and prevents the lugs from coming loose. They brought me into the shop and explained all of this and why. They are not just interested in a quick buck, but the safety of you and your car. I will go back. Very professional.

I make sure to only change my tires over at this store. That even includes when I have to commute from Anchorage! They are friendly, offer fast service, and I count on them when it's busy elsewhere.
