You have to take a safety course and test before using, but they offer the course weekly or more and it's only a half an hour.Once you have the safety cert, it's really easy to use. Every tool you need is provided, and you can ask the staff for help on anything you are doing.They also provide small services for a fee that's way below average off post prices.Their goal is to help you increase your confidence in working on your vehicle in any way. *most* parts you will need to buy elsewhere and bring with you.It's heated, and has lifts that can accomodate any vehicle you bring in, and air hoses for air powered tools.It also has car wash bays that seal for winter use.Call them, they are easy to work with if you have questions. I'm definitely going to use them, summer or winter.

They do take a long time to get to your vehicle but you can always just do it yourself which is what I'm gonna do but nonetheless they're all good people and they could probably teach you most things you'd need to know about what you're trying to do

Varies from time to time. Mechanics generally helpful. Tool counter guy very nice and helpful. Tools also vary, some need replaced while others are top notch. I think it s hard for them to keep enough of some tools due to heavy/hard useI bring a lot of my own stuff especially specialty toolsBring shop rags/towels with you and even some citrus/scrub hand soap as they don t have this in bathrooms any longer

Great place to fix your vehicle. Staff is helpful most of the time. I get the feeling they are a little undermanned but Ive always gotten what I needed to finish my work quickly. Tools are in good shape.

This skills center has practically everything you need. If you run into a problem while you're working on something the mechanics are always there to help you. They've come up with solutions for me and they worked everytime. Seems like they're always pulling any kind of tool and misc part you need from behind the counter that'll save your day. They're friendly people and their hourly rates are very affordable and cheap.

Staff is very helpful. However, the facility itself could use some upgrades. Should also add some new tools.

Despite having a rough start.... the folks know what they are doing, are willing to help, and the garage is well equipped to do the job. However, went a second time with my wife's van this time the folks were not so eager to help. Managed to over tighten block heater.. and now I have leaking antifreeze. American made, no problem. Foreign... save yourself the hassle and pay a mechanic.

Pretty nice place that you can lift your vehicles on. You just have to attend the class first. I was able to winterize my Outback a couple years ago here and the workers were able to give me guidance.

It s nice having a place on post where we can go so my husband can fix our vehicles. They usually have everything we need right there and the parts store will deliver to the Automotive Skills Center if ww have transportation yo get parts. I m very happy we are able to use it.

Mechanics were more than willing to offer advice and assistance if needed. Bays are clean and tools were available if needed.Safety is paramount and trained mechanics will walk around and address any discrepancy if noticed which is great for novice mechanics.

Great place to work on your vehicle. Very friendly and helpful staff. Loses 1 start due to how tight the lifts are, hard to get a full size truck in without help

This facility has all the right tools and equipment needed to successfully complete many automotive jobs/ task. Great staff to lend a hand when you encounter a challenging situation.

Rude, told me one thing on the phone, then tried to charge me a higher price when I went to pick up tires, told me they d be done around 3, they were not. They said they d call me, they did not. Will not return. Would rather pay more for better service next time.

If your station at Fort Wainwright then by all means do all your maintenance yourself at this location. Way cheaper and you pick up a skill.

Best place on Ft. Wainwright aside from the golf course club house. Easy going. The guys that work their are extremely helpful. Save money and use this place!!!!
