Jo and Rolan are so dedicated and passionate about the bears, their business and the environment and it shows. We visited Kodiak for the first time and used Sea Hawk Air for 2 days and the experience on both days was unforgettable. We learned so much about bear behavior, patterns and the habitat around them- it was incredible. I left each day with a wealth of knowledge and a better understanding of the wildlife on Kodiak. Rolan's flying is top notch and the whole experience created by Sea Hawk is unmatched. If you are looking for a great duo to learn from, want to enjoy some of the best views Alaska has to offer and perhaps forget your 9-5 job exists for 6 hours, go with Sea Hawk!

Can't do better. Pilot has multiple decades flying in Alaska. Jo has 25+ yrs with the bears, and good experience handling a range of ages in our group. On the ground in town, Amanda was amazing doing pickups and dropoffs with van. All parts of the service were fantastic. And the bears were.... awesome. Choose this one.

Sea Hawk Air has been our families way to go to Afognak for a couple of decades. We love Roland and Jo's dedication to assisting safe travel to and from our destination.

Went out with Seahawk twice this last weekend. What a phenomenal experience. Roland and Joe were absolutely amazing. Great piloting, incredibly knowledgeable and informative about Kodiak history and with the bears themselves. First time on a sea plane and I think we got some of the best first try. Will be hard to top this experience.

This your was nothing short of amazing. The ride was nice and smooth. I felt safe at all times. The pilot was extremely informational answering all questions and teaching our crew so much. We was also given a lunch that was great and filled my tummy with yummy food. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great adventure

We had a once in a lifetime experience with Sea Hawk Air. They found room for us on a bear viewing tour last minute and were accommodating and extremely friendly the entire time we interacted with them. This is a family run business and it s like they are welcoming you into their home. On the day of our trip their office contacted us to update us on our destination and asked us if we needed a ride to their facility. They advised us on what to expect, how to dress and be sure to eat lunch before we left and if we were hungry on the way back, a lunch would be provided. Once we were summoned to gather at the airplane, our pilot Rolan greeted us individually and made certain to get our names correct. Rolan operated the airplane like one puts on an old pair of blue jeans. He was very smooth and confident and was a wealth of knowledge about Kodiak, the indigenous people, geography, and all about the bears. The walking trails around Frazer Lake are well laid out and there are outhouses for your use. Rolan took time to talk to any of the passengers who were interested in information about the bears and allowed us to stay at the bear viewing area for hours.If you want an excellent experience in viewing bears or any other reason to charter a floatplane, Sea Hawk Air is the one to use.

We had a great day flying to Geographic Harbor with Rolan and Jo to view bears. Another dream come true with excellent flight and bear guide. This will become an annual trip for us I'm sure.

Amazing experience bear viewing in Karmai National Park. Great communication made it easy to schedule and enjoy the experience. The bears got really close but it was in a very controlled manner. Jo and Rolland were awesome. Even got to see some wales on cruise back!

Bear viewing in katmaiThis is the best tourist experience we have had. From start to finish the experience just kept giving. I certainly didn t expect to be walking around in a giant meadow with brown aka grizzly bears oh and with a backdrop of a glacier.We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to the floatplane docks. Given waders and then onto the plane and a 50min scenic flight over to the katmai national park. On the way our pilot Roland pointed out places of interest, puffins and otters. We were coming into land and could see the bears on the ground but had to wait for another plane to take off so we did a couple of loops over the glacier.On the ground roland took us out to meet up with jo our guide. Roland and Jo have been doing this for 30 years and really understand the bears. They don t have a gun they do carry spray but have never had to use it. They fully understand bear body language and observe what the bears are doing and adjust what we are up to as neededWe wandered about 5k around the meadow area where the bears were grazing on a couple of high nutrient grasses. They eat this prior to the start of the salmon run. We saw about 40 bears in total. A mix of boars sows and cubs. We were within 20m of them. Could hear them breathing and grazing. We also saw a quick brown fox jump onto a little mouse and catch it !Once back at the plane we were handed out a super yummy lunch to eat whilst flying home. And another treat a pod of orca one swimming on its side having a good look at what we were up to in the air.Back at the accommodation and have been reviewing the photos. I m running out of words to express how good this was.

We had a magnificent day with this tour. Jo was knowledgeable, professional, fun and all business when the bears came a little close.Roland was a most excellent pilot, you can tell he loves his job. Amanda in the office was extremely helpful and efficient. Kyra picked us up from the airport, drove us back and forth from the tour to our rental, and then back to the airport! No one does that. I recommend this tour every day and twice on Sunday.

This was an experience my husband & I will always remember from my bucket list Alaska trip. Jo & Rowland are so knowledgable about the whole island as well as the bears. The plane ride was exceptional: smoothest landings as well as going the extra and spotting whales and I got some exceptional pictures from the plane. We never felt uncomfortable around the bears while following Jo's instructions. They are fabulous animals.

I've flown on remote trips with Sea Hawk Air on 6 or 7 trips. Great people and service. Trust Rolland with his 40 years of remote float plane drops and pickups. They're good and safety is always first.

Sea Hawk Air provided the best service and experience ever. Will, the pilot and Jo, the guide were the best. It was our first time in the float plane and bear watching. Will is very funny, entertaining and an excellent pilot. Jo has an enormous experience with the terrain and knows the individual bear habits and character very well. Will landed the plane in the bay where we saw a mommy bear with 3 cubs, and then Jo took us on a hike through the grass land close to the beach where we saw another 6 adult bears. She is an excellent guide providing very insightful details on bear life and behavior. We were very lucky to have her as a guide. I feel that with Sea Hawk Air, the likelihood of encountering and watching live bears at a close distance in 100% guaranteed. Jo knows their habits so well.Sea Hawk Air picked us up in the morning from the Best Western on Kodiak Island. We were provided with water proof rubber pants/shoes that allowed us to walk in above knee water. The actual bear viewing trip started after 10am. On the flight to the bear viewing site we saw a lot of otters swimming in the coastal waters. Overall the whole trip, I think, lasted longer than planned. We enjoyed every minute of it and it has been the most memorable event during our Alaska vacation.Lunch on the way back was very nice, delicious and definitely much more than we could eat.Jo was so gracious to email us a few pictures of the bears that she took during the hike. She is an excellent photographer. Thank you very much.P.S. I meant to write this review for the last 8 months. We took the trip in June 2014.

Amazing experience. it is difficult to explain. The experience is not about watching bears, it is about spending time with bears in their habitat.Roland and the rest of the team are kind and professionals.It has been an unforgettable experience.

An incredible experience for our family that was so well done in a personalized yet professional manner. They are top notch and I highly recommend. Both Jo and Rowland make the adventure fun, informative and something we will certainly remember for the rest of our lives.

I ve used Seahawk Air twice (2015 and 2019), and I ll be using them again this year. Roland is top notch and you can trust him. Everyone in the office is friendly and accommodating too.

Simply the Best!! I've been flying with Rolan since the early 90's and cannot say enough about how professional the whole team he employs are. They just get the job done and flex to your individual needs. The definition of customer service is Sea Hawk!Thanks for your long term commitment to serving those that need transported on the rock.

We have been going out to Paramanof cabin annually for over 30 years. We have had, in the early days as few as 4 of us and at times as many as 17. We just got back after 9 of us spent five full days plus a weathered in day. It is an experience that keeps us together as a family. Bob of 'Island Air' introduced us to the cabin (he remains our brother) and for more than a decade Jo and Roland have taken care of us and allowed us to keep whole this family tradition. If they were golden in the beginning of our relationship with them they are platinum now. Paramanof is a place and we love it and hope to return for as long as we can...Jo and Roland are people and because they love what they do; they do it to the absolute best possible and they do it with joy- we love them and the way they treat us yearly. You will not do better.john hall

You cannot find more friendly and loving people who are conscientious of their clients and the people they are involved with. Nevertheless, you will not find any better bear viewing service with the comfort and feeling of being treated like royalty and family.

Sea Hawk provided everything you could hope for in a flight service, and more. I have flown with bush services all over Alaska, and never been more impressed. Highly recommended!!

after 40 years of flying as a pilot in the Alaskan bush myself- we always use Seahawk and roland as the pilot as he has flown Kodiak island for decade s and knows the island better than anyone that is a pilot and the spots to put down for bad weather= veteran on safety!!!!!!!!!
