I had an amazing experience going on a bear viewing tour from Kodiak to Katmai National Park with pilot Kyle! The views of mountains, aquamarine bays, and Kodiak's alpine during the flight were incredible. We spent almost two hours at Geographic Harbor in Katmai watching bears fish, play, and nap. Kyle respected the bears' boundaries and made sure we did but also knew enough about their "small personal bubbles" during salmon season, allowing us to get pretty close. A few bears walked within 20 yards of our group of their own volition. It was amazing! Kyle and his wife Teri were both very kind and professional. Everything seemed safe and well-organized. I definitely recommend flying with Kingfisher Aviation!

An excellent bear viewing and flightseeing trip! The 4 hour tour on July 3 ended up being a bit longer due in part to a late arrival of another sow with 3 cubs. It was early in the bear viewing season since the salmon run got heavy just a few days ago. Still, we had one bear resting on shore when we arrived. Then a sow and 3 cubs (second summer with Mom) entered the feeding area 20 feet from us, below the viewing knoll. They fed for an hour or more, then grouped together for a nap. Another bear appeared briefly in the bushes. A bit later another sow and 3 cubs were spotted running in the distance, and finally appeared along the river heading for us. After 15 minutes or so we headed back to the plane. A good 2-3 hours of bear viewing I think. The rest of the time was the walk between the viewing area and the plane, and the scenic flights between Frazier Lake and Kodiak.

Pilot Kyle was amazing! He took us on a last minute flight to see whales and parts of Kodiak. He had an afternoon off and was willing to take us last minute to experience flying in a seaplane. My 11 year old son absolutely loved the experience and can't stop talking about it!

Worth every penny and then some! Just the flight would be worth it but add in the up close encounters with bears, Kyle's knowledge and enthusiasm and it is hard to put a price on this experience. Kyle and Teri at Kingfisher are top notch!

Great tour with Kyle. 10000% worth every penny. We spent an hour flying over Kodiak and spotting bears from the sky, and then landing in a cove in Katmai, where we spent a half hour up close with two brown bears. From there, we took off again and landed 5 minutes later at another beach with two more bears.Spent time watching a few humpbacks from the sky, and also watched a fox eating an octopus, harbor seals, elk, and a really cool glacier.Kyle was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we lucked into a charter with 2 other couples. We took turns riding copilot, which was pretty surreal. We learned a lot about the area beyond just the bears. They provided waders for everyone, as well a nice binoculars. Landing on the lake right behind their building was pretty cool! 10/10 would recommend!

Could not have been happier with my bear viewing flight out to Frazer Lake today, and with my pilot Glen. First class outfit all the way.

Our pilot Kyle and his wife are very friendly and easy to talk with questions about the tours. Our Bear plane flight seeing tour was unique in that Kyle landed us down to hike over to see the bears up close!! We actually were able to view two bears up close interacting as well as a multitude of other bears around Kodiak Island. We also saw a humpback whale !! Such a great trip !!!

My wife and I had an amazing tour with Kyle! We got to saw tons of bears, eagles, otters, and a few whales. Kyle was very accommodating and knowledgeable of the Kodiak area! We will definitely be back. Thanks for making this the best part of our honeymoon!

Wow !!! Absolutely 120 % recommend Kingfisher Aviation. Took their bear viewing flight today. Not enough positive adjectives to describe our experience with them. 1st. They are very professional, friendly and very knowledgeable about how to handle yourself in bear territory. We saw 8 different bears all of which were within 30 to 40 yards at one point or another. 2. The flight to Frazer Lake was jaw dropping spectacular. Flying along the coastline we witnessed 2 pods of Wales. 3. Our pilot was exceptionally experienced, and we had a very smooth ride both there and back. We will be returning and without question will be booking a flight with them again. 4. Their office and changing area (into waders) are spotlessly clean and organized. Which says a lot about the company. Highly recommend them.

This is a quality place who I felt actually cared about my experience. Was willing to put the plane down in different areas to get close to bears and had a wealth of knowledge about Kodiak. Local family, born in Kodiak!

I visited my daughter in Kodiak so we took the opportunity to take the bear tout with Kingfisher Aviation. It was well worth the cost of the trip. Not only were the owner friendly, they were very gracious by working us in. Kyle was an excellent pilot and told us a lot of information about the area. We saw glaciers and bear from the air, then we landed and walked to s spot where we saw a couple of bears within 100 yards for sure. I would highly recommend taking this tour if you are ever in Kodiak.

Amazing experience. Kyle flew us to a remote area where we observed brown bears for 1.5 hours. We saw them fishing for salmon. We saw a mama and her 3 cubs. Kingfisher provided all of the needed gear, including boots. First class operation!

I had lived on Kodiak, but it was the first trip back for my family. We flew with Kyle, one of the owners. He called to say it was likely to rain on the day we had scheduled, but there was an earlier opening. He suggested what we should bring, and that rain gear and mud boots were available to borrow, which we did. The plane was clean and well maintained. The flight to the FrazerLake bear watching site was spectacular. We saw bear, mountain goats and deer en route. We were the only group there. A sow and cubs kept us company. Kyle was quite knowledgeable about bears, and Kodiak in general. Definitely the highlight of the trip..

What an absolute treat to be airlifted across the gorgeous Shelikof Strait from Kodiak to Katmai, seeing mountain goats and bears on route, then landing beside a secluded beach, where three Kodiak bears were casually munching on grass in the meadow next door. We sat, I kid you not, no more than 50 metres from one of them for an hour, as he casually grazed, had a cooling swim in the stream, and eventually wandered off into the woods. He kept his eye on us but clearly wasn t perturbed by our presence. Wow; what an incredible experience. Oh, and I forgot to mention that prior to landing at the beach, we flew over the most beautiful glacier. The scenery on the flights there and back was stunning, and the knowledge and passion that Pilot Kyle shared only added to the excellent experience. Highly recommend.

The people who work at Kingfisher are so friendly and very knowledgeable about Kodiak Island. The pilot, Kyle was great! He knew what he was doing and knew so much about the island and the bears. We saw some great views from the plane ride over, and once we got to the bear viewing site, it was even more spectacular! Hands down would definitely recommend this company!

Used them in 2008 for transport on a deer hunt and they were excellent; safe, courteous and timely. Recently tried to book for transportation for a bear hunt. They won't fly hunters into Fraser Lake to hunt the DB209 tag but they will take them to other locations in the unit. I respect their personal morales but this shows a major lack of understanding of the biology and habits of the bears that are their "bread and butter".

Wealthy knowledge of bars. Friendly staff and super cool planes. We took a ride around the perimeter of Kodiak and he knew the name of every bay.
