Great little place to visit. It has fishing and hunting gear upstairs. Hardware and automotive downstairs. The staff could use some training. They tend to focus on those who they know and are very suspicious of customers who don't just come in and hang out on a regular basis. I feel comfortable saying this as I have been a customer for over 40 years and, for some reason, get treated as a thief each time I enter the store nowadays, sadly.

This place has a great selection for most of your Alaska outdoor needs. The staff has always been super helpful and polite. I prefer shopping here whenever I can.

Always great to browse. They have an elevator for the second floor. Find just about anything you need for marine or auto. I find things here not in Fred Meyer or other stores with limited options; including sporting goods places such as Sportsman's Warehouse. Those who helped me were helpful. Charts, thick contractor plastic bags for packing fish, and various daredevil lure sizes found here.

Western Auto has a variety of merchandise for your home, garden, boat and outdoors. It's been in Juneau for many years and has friendly staff. They have had items in store that were hard to find elsewhere.

Just about every time I go into Western Auto I discover they carry something I didn't know they carry. Like, wait. Western Auto carries appliances? And there is a very decent if small selection of appliances. Wait... I can get a mouse for my laptop here? Holy smokes! I wish I'd known about their science kits for kids before Christmas! And that's just the bottom floor. There's a whole floor above of marine equipment and sporting goods that you could just wander around in for hours. Their prices are decent for Alaska. Service is always very good- you never have to look long for someone to help you find something. So now if I'm on my way to Fred's or Home Depot for some household good, I check in at Western first, just to see. They don't always have what I need, (no SAD lamps!) but very often they do, and a decent or sometimes better price, probably a higher quality version, and with much better service. I would rather give them my money!

Love independent hardware stores. And the reason is because they know what their customers want so they stock items that are actually useful and fairly priced, unlike Home Depot or Lowe's. This place is great and also has a great fishing section.

We went there searching for craft ideas. When approached by store personnel, we let them know that... Instead of looking at us like loiterers, they offered us a cup of coffee, to help us relax and warm up so we could really take our time and maybe come up with some great ideas.... This is a true home town store!

What can I say that isn't in the name? It is a great place for parts, hardware, fluids, boat seats, fishing stuff, guns, ammo, tools and just about everything a working man needs. Staff is very friendly, always willing to help you find a specific item.

Amazing Service!I stopped in at 7:00 PM right at closing, looking for a replacement headlight bulb. They let me in and helped me find the bulb i needed. Everyone was friendly and professional and I was VERY impressed. As I left another customer pulled up and asked for something and they let him in to get it as well. I will be shopping here when I'm in Juneau from now on. :D

Still a great place to shop for automotive needs, some electronics fishing and hunting, you can also apply for your subsistence license at Western Auto.

Best selection and prices in Jeanu. Make this your first stop for fishing supplies. We went out to Doc Warners wanted to take some of our own supplies glad we did. Squid was good for us and we took other leaders and hooks and jigs. Much cheaper buying here and taking with you. Nice service also. Wish we went here before Sportsman's. Better prices. It's off the beaten path but well worth the trip.

I'm always amazed at how much is available here. Outdoor supplies, household items, lots of boating and fishing stuff, tools, etc. It's fun to browse through the store. Don't forget the second floor!

Great local business. They have alot of outdoor options. The Sportsman's Warehouse employee directed me here when they were low on kerosene. I found everything else I needed here. One of the employees even showed me around. I will use them again.

In a small community like Juneau, there are limited options. Western Auto is one of those limited options. My three star rating isn't negative, it's average, it's good enough. Good enough might be the best way to describe Western Auto. As strengths, there is a fair selection of: gardening, work or hunting/fishing related apparel, electronics, hardware (fasteners etc), and housewares in one spot without the mega mart experience or low quality mega mart items. They might have the best selection of fishing tackle and marine hardware. I often find myself there because I need two or three different items and I don't want to make two or three stops to specialty places or spend several hours on my Saturday shopping around to save $5 on a $50 item.

This a great store. They have lots of hardware, automotive and electronics downstairs and a very well stocked sporting goods, boating and fishing department upstairs. The staff people are friendly and knowledgeable.

Western Auto has long been the go to source for fishing, boating and camping gear. They have a great hardware and automotive departments too. These days it is one last local sources for Radio Shack type of electronic parts. And if you buy wiper blades, they'll have them installed on your vehicle as you finish checking out at the front cashier. Home appliances and gardening too. All with pleasant service.

I've been shopping at Western Auto now for 40 years. I go to Western Auto first and if I can't find what I'm looking for, I reluctantly go to Home Depot. The people that work at Western Auto arefriendly and helpful. Also Home Depot doesn't have Sporting Goods. Great place to shop.

Great deal on fantastic outdoor gear. Very affordable boots- I purchased a pair of Muck boots + 2 pairs of socks cheaper than they sell at Sportsman wearhouse. The same exact boots.

The staff are friendly and helpful. You can get anything from paint supplies, car repair, plumbing, electrical, gardening, accessories for your phone or cameras. Toys for kids, rain gear, high viz gear, the go to spot for Extra Tuffs and other boots., Fishing tackle with different rods and reels, radios, grills and boat accesories, camping gear, hunting gear. Home improvement items, cleaning items, pet supplies, candy, snacks and drinks. Life jackets and out door clothes for adult and children. All that and I am still leaving things out...

The only place you'll find stocking stuffers for the entire family..the prices are great.. I even found raingaurds for my vehicle at a low price compared to what I had planned on ordering... Saved me almost $80.. The staff was friendly..very resourceful Complimentary coffee was provided soon as I walked into the store... Lines moved swiftly, and as always I walked out with more than what I needed ... Thanks Western Auto... A must stop and shop...

They have a fair selection of sporting goods specific to SE Alaska's unique requirements but the customer service is typically poor. The tools are all terrible quality, Chinese junk. The building is rarely maintained with buckets catching roof leaks all over the place. I wish I could take the sporting goods over to Sportsman's Warehouse and have a clean, frindly, well stocked store.

VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WESTERN AUTO HAS LOST A LONG TIME SHOP LOCAL PAYING CUSTOMER. We made and paid for a deal with W.A for a major purchase, via a salesmen, a store manager and a confirmation call to another unseen upper level store manager that included a delivery and haul away the next day.We went home and moved the house around in expectation of their delivery only to be told as they we about to deliver that they had made a mistake and that they now needed to charge an additional $70.00 if I wanted to receive my appliance. Needless to say I was not happy especially after all the effort we had put out including tearing our house apart (not easy as I am disabled). But in an effort to get our purchase I made an offer to split the difference of their mistake and pay half which I felt was fair since we paid full price (not a sale price) to begin with and now would equal out that W.A only be giving a 10% discount overall. Unfortunately our offer was declined by general manager John Weedman so we had them take the appliance back to the store and credit my credit. I hope the loss of a 25 year customer and the bad advertising by word of mouth is worth it. I also thinks it's funny that I just heard your commercial on the radio thanking Juneau for shopping local but with what we just experienced it is no wonder many don't.

I have always received great customer service and help on any problem I had the Western Auto Marine store here in Juneau. And I find their prices very competitive if not the lowest in town.
