Best spot to swing in and sit back and let the awesome staff take care of you. They always greet you in a prompt and friendly manner. They not only pump your gas but optionally they will check your fluids and clean your windshield. Top notch service and to top it off with a full tank they offer you a free beverage

Updated 2023.02.01 Capital Service is located across the street from the federal building. Came there to put some air into a tire that was leaking and inquired about bringing it in for service. Brought it in at 0700 and they were already opened. Also had them do an oil change since it was already in the shop. There was a sign saying not to leave your vehicle dropoff overnight due to snow conditions. Snow removal service won't be done if there's vehicles in the way. Service was pretty fast since I may have been the first customer of the day in at 0700.

They save you from standing out in the Alaskan winters pumping gas, and they give you stickers and a free Coke when you fill er up. What more could you ask for in a gas station? (Can't speak to services other than the full service gas attendees, who are great)

I usually go to Affordable Auto in the Valley, but I needed to get my car fixed faster than what they could schedule me in for, so I gave this place a call. They said they could get me in the next morning! So the next morning I drop my car off and tell them the issue. A simple 'check engine' light coming on because of the belt. And I KNOW there aren't any other issues because I got a ton of work done on my car and 80% of it is new parts. I asked them if it would be finished at the end of the day, since it was the middle of my work week, and they said yes. A couple of hours later I walked back over there for my car and absolutely nothing had been done. I just walked in and the mechanic told me 'oh we haven't even started on it' and then told me that they called me about three times to ask me if they could start working on the car when I specifically told them my work hours were from 7am-3pm, they were calling me in the middle of my shift when I dont check my phone at all. Really really annoyed with them as they looked at me like it was my fault that I didn't answer. Mechanic gave me a laundry list of things 'wrong' with my car and told me to come back the next day so they could start on repairs. Went back to my people at Affordable Auto a couple of days later and all it literally was was my belt needed to be tightened. That's it. This place was trying to get me to pay $900 for repairs I didn't even need! Really slimy thing to do guys. Needless to say, I did not show up the next day.

Full service gas station with quaility service. An attendant will pump your gas, wash your windows, ask if you want fluids checked. Make sure to use the sticker and receipt rewards to get the full value from getting gasoline for your vehicle here. They also have a full automotive shop that works on a variety of vehicles that does quality work.

The guys pump your gas and check your fluids. They are out there in rain or shine. Always quick and eager to please. They have a sticker rewards program which is fun. They also offer car services which was the only place I have taken my vehicle to be worked on. They were honest and competent.

$850 rear brake job half wornout after 2,000 miles. When brought to their attention they blamed it on road conditions in Juneau. Shoddy workmanship is the actual reason. The brake pads were installed in the caliper bracket way too tight. Seemed to take it personally when it was brought to their attention. Find another place to bring your car

Terrible service, unfair practices, awful communication. I went in knowing I had an alternator problem, they didn't even look at my alternator, and said they couldn't get to it that day. I called the next day, and they said they'd finished it the day before, and I owed them for a fix I thought was too expensive, which I hadn't approved, and they didn't care to tell me i could come pick it up. 9 miles later, I had the exact same problem as before, was stranded on the side of the road, and Capital Service wouldn't come and check out the problem, help with towing, or ensure that the previous overcharging wouldn't happen again. When i voiced my frustration, they said "sounds like you need a different mechanic," which is the best advice and service they can offer.

Had a Subaru that turned but wouldn't start. Did some diagnostics myself - figured out it had spark, narrowed it down to a fuel issue. Didn't have the tools to completely diagnose whether it was a fuse / relay / power or a problem with the pump itself, so I called up Capital based on recommendations from another shop I trusted.Called on a Thursday to make the appointment. They have their own tow service, but they said to call them tomorrow morning and have them tow it in at 7. They refused to take the car in before the scheduled shop appointment, and wouldn't take an appointment to pick up the car either. Okay, fine, my wife has to wake up at 6am anyway. We call them. The driver shows up too late to get our car in at the appointment time. Sure, whatever, he was still early enough to give my wife a ride to work on time, which is something they didn't have to do.10~am rolls around and the service shop finally realizes they don't have the key to even try to start the car. The tow truck driver has it. For some reason, they tell my wife this and have her call, instead of calling the tow truck company themselves. I don't know when they finally got the key, but by the time my wife got off work (6pm), the only work they'd done on the car was to diagnose the problem - which given all of the information we provided them, shouldn't have taken all day.I call to check on the car Saturday afternoon. Turns out the mechanics keep separate hours from the gas station, and they neglected to tell me this. They didn't have any new information for me other than "the mechanic is coming in on his day off to look at your car". I call later that same day, I get a very confused gas attendant who doesn't know what's going on with the car at all. They ask if they can call back, so I let them go. 45 minutes after the time they said they'd call, my wife gives them another jingle, and gets a very rude man who "doesnt know nothin 'bout that" when she asked what was going on with our car. After some back and forth, apparently the mechanic was sick, came in and did some work on it, and then left without telling anyone what was going on with it.No work was done on the car on Sunday, even though all sources point to them being open on Sunday.Monday comes around, my wife shows up early in the morning. The car had started without them performing any work on it at all, so they took this as a sign to just give the car back to us without doing anything to it. Maybe something was frozen in the gas tank, and having it in their shop long enough to thaw it out solved the problem? Maybe there's something else seriously wrong with the car. Based on the information they gave us, I'll never know. The check engine light is still on and they didn't clear the code or tell us what code was still stored in the memory of the computer. The most charitable thing I can say about these guys is they didn't charge me for the "work" they performed, but I'm still out the towing fee - paid to the towing company they also own, of course. They advised the car was "not safe to drive" and offered to fix the other problem they just so happened to find. We declined, as they didn't even fix the original problem that led to us making an appointment with them. I suspect they routinely take on more work than they have time to do, and with how long it took them to diagnose what should've been a simple issue, I suspect they don't even have basic diagnostic equipment you can order off of amazon or buy at a local parts store off the shelf. I won't be trusting these guys for any serious car work, especially not after reading the other reviews here that suggest this isn't really an out of the ordinary experience.

They charge way too much in fuel for no particular reason. What cost me $40 to fill anywhere else cost me $60 here. For vehicle service I took my car in to get the belt changed (2012 Jaguar XF) they kept it all day just to tell me they can't get parts for it??? Bruh, O'Reilly auto parts had it in stock. Ended up going there and doing it myself. Waste of a day having my vehicle there. Will not return.

Bottom of the barrel. Rude to my daughter, kept the vehicle 3 weeks. Replaced the fuel pump for $515 (not needed). Was not the problem. Said they were stumped. They said they had 10 hours into it and could not figure it out. Greg was rude and would not compromise. Had it towed to Alaska Auto Repair and was fixed in an hour; it was the coil pack, so my $515 was wasted. They do not know what they are doing and I caution people about their lack of expertise, poor business skills and poor customer relations.

Outstanding service: quick, honest, effective and communicative. I never have to wait long, they're quick to call when they have questions or issues to discuss with me, they tell me when I can save money by getting a part or service elsewhere, and what they've done to fix my car on a number of occasions has always worked well. My highest recommendation!

I was having problems with my Subaru Legacy overheating, and had been troubleshooting, fixing things, but couldn't figure it out. I had heard that Capital Service was THE place for Subarus, so I checked them out. They made an appointment with me immediately, listened to what I had tried and fixed, and called me 2 hours later with the diagnosis. They also noticed my brakes were bad, (like non-existent) and called me and asked me if I wanted those fixed as well, and quoted $250 less than the two other places I called. It was done in 5 hours, fixed, and was a total bargain.Being a young female, I'm used to getting crap service at garages. Not here. They were fast, honest, reasonable, and dealt with my rust-bucket crap wagon with a smile. I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

About 2 weeks ago I brought my car to them to check my CV Boot and axle. They asked me to leave it so they could check it. They told me it was tore and the joint was compromised more than likely with dirt. They said they don't repair boots and grease but only the Full Joint,Boot and Axle. For whatever reason I had a bad feeling about them so today I asked a friend and mechanical type to raise my car so we could see for ourselves. Guess what..... the Boot and Joint and Axle were Perfect no rip or tear in the Boot just dripping Brake fluid. I went back to talk to them and the Manager lied and Cursed me out said I owed him money etc etc etc etc.STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

I had capital service do a tune up and replace my CV axles. That day when I went to pick up my truck the brake calipers FELL off the truck because they never tightened the bolts. Thinking that was the extent of the damages after they fixed it, not with out a argument from the owner saying it wasn't his fault. A week went by and did the drive south out of canada and my brakes start going soft. It turns out they stripped the CV axle on and never fully tightened them.It destroyed the CV axle, and my hub bearings leaving me with hundreds of dollars of repairs. They absolutely refuse to warranty work they did. Avoid Capital service with the thought it could save your life, my tire could have fallen off at any given time.

Don't take your vehicle to Capital Service. When they changed over four tires they damaged all of the tires, which were brand new, and because they were ripped they are shredding from the inside out. One tire formed a bubble so the tires were taken to a different shop for evaluation. After finding that all four tires were unsafe for use they were taken to Capital Service to confront them about the damage. Even the OWNER of Capital Service openly admitted that the same damage had been done to his tires on his personal vehicle. He further denied any sort of help and adamantly stated that what happened to the tires wasn't their problem. He tried to dodge all responsibility for a problem caused by his shop even though he KNEW it was an issue and that it had happened before. Capital Service is a business that has very poor customer service, or just poor service in general, and the owner is a greedy pig. Don't take your vehicle to Capital Service unless you like wasting time and money.

I had a brand new transmission ordered from a reputable shop downsouth (it was a foreign car) and installed here. It was supposed to come with the whole setup being brand new (slave cylinder, master cylinder, transmission, intermediate shaft etc.) less then a year later, I was having transmission problems again. I researched problems for this car and the transmission WAS not of concern. Upon inspection I noticed the slave cylinder was rusty, and the boot looked aged. I had to replace the slave cylinder because they used my old one. I called the shop which sold me the transmission and he confirmed that everything should have been included and in new condition, therefore the only explanation I got from Capital Service is, "the only thing that came with the shipment was the bell housing" (transmission itself). I do not reccomended these guys, they gave me the cold shoulder and wanted to charge me extra to inspect their own work (labor hours for re-checking everything). I should have took this to small claims court but someone ended up running into my car and it was totaled 1 1/2 years after the install, so I cut my losses and will never go back or reccomend this shop.
