Went to Simard s on Illinois with a brake light issue and got immediate service. I was in and out under 10 minutes with fantastic results. I can t thank them enough and I highly recommend these skilled professionals to handle any of your automotive needs.

I had a great experience here. I had them winterize my car and put my winter tires on and they had it done by the end of the day. I was a few minutes late to picking it up, and even though they were closed Nicole was able to assist me in getting my car.Service: TiresService: Tires

Can't say enough good things about the work I had done with Simard earlier this summer to replace the control arm and wheel on my Buick Enclave. The work itself was great, but what I appreciated the most was the customer service and communication from Greg and Nicole. Greg even followed up two months after the repair to see if things were going well. It's always good to have a trusted company for anything mechanical, and Simard certainly fits that bill and I will certainly be using them again (just hopefully, not for a similar repair!)

Our rental camper van broke down in Fairbanks, the stroke of luck was that it was towed to Simard. Everyone there was great and 8 hours later we were back on the road. The woman in charge of it all with the cute glasses kept us informed and thinking positive. Nicole is awesome! They were super honest and fair about pricing. They quoted my service on an atypical vehicle and when they overcharged me, they called to let me know and immediately refunded. There were a few miscommunications about the length of the vehicle which made it difficult for them to service in their shop at this location but they transferred it to a different location and made it happen in a timely manner! I really appreciate how nice they were about everything and helpful. It s honestly hard to find that in Fairbanks sometimes! Living up here is tough, but can be tougher when resources like mechanic shops try to pull one over on you that s not these guys at all! I was really appreciative of their customer service after having some not so great experiences with other shops around town!

Great experience! Friendly team, good prices. I went for an oil change and inspection and a couple other things -- the folks at Simard sent me a report, talked me through the options, and then quickly finished up the work we agreed to get done. And they even stayed after closing to fix an additional problem we found. Highly recommend.

I'm pleased with Simard Automotive. They did the work - tires,oil change & gave me prices on repairs I need to do on my 20 yr old truck. I recommended my son-in-law to go there when no one else could get him in & they got him in right away. Brought my truck in to get heater hoses, battery service and steering fluid changed. They were great! Truck feels just like it did before! They were friendly, courteous, and worked very well with my schedule. Nicole was very helpful - when the brake inspection I had requested along with the scheduled oil change showed I needed my front brakes replaced ASAP was very good about getting me setup so that I was able to get the brakes replaced the next day. Great experience. A absolute wonderful job!I told Debbie, the front desk attendant, that you guys are the third auto shop I've tried in the almost 5 years we have lived here. First, American tire and Auto(after dealing with Christy(the service department person) I will never go back there again. Second, Pearson Auto(who had the car for two full business days and still wasn't able to complete the inspection I'd needed). Now I've made it to you guys and I feel like this is where we will stay. I'm honestly sorry it took so long to get to you all.I've already recommended you to my sister and my mom; and will continue to recommend you guys to any I can.Thank you guys very much

Took my vehicle to one other mechanic in the area who was unable to diagnose my vehicle's check engine light. The expert team at Simard Automotive not only properly diagnosed the issue but presented multiple options to fix the problem. I cannot express how satisfied I was with their service, I would definitely recommend visiting Simard for all vehicle needs. Front desk is also very friendly and timely with all communications making sure you are always in the loop regarding your vehicle!

I dropped my car off with them to replace my thermostat on Wednesday. I already knew what work needed done, but they said an inspection was required. They ran the engine of course, but for 2 hours. They finished the inspection ($140) and stated the problem which we already knew. If they did replace the thermostat it would ve been $677 in total, and they wouldn t do it until Monday (today is Friday) so I got my car back today. Over the two days they only did the inspection. I paid for not only that, but cab rides and gas they ran for inspection. Their computers had technical problems, and the customer service wasn t the best.

Requested to have my vehicle diagnosed due to coolant temp being high and CEL periodically coming on. They diagnosed and told me what they found and what I needed. And ensured I had no leaks in my coolant hoses or power steering hose by purging it and conducted a battery test and replaced all in a matter of 3-4 hrs!! Took my car in for winterization. There was an issue that caused things to take longer than expected. I'm really happy with how they made it up to me. They understood my situation, discussed the car's issues in way I could understand, and were more than fair in pricing and courtesy. Great folks at Simards on Illinois St. Fussy bad wheel bering that took longer than expected to replace but they stayed true to the original estimate. I bring all of my vehicles here. Good price, great service, work completed faster than expected, flexible to my schedule. I ran the work done and the price by several people who are more knowledgeable on the subject and all thought the price was very appropriate. But what keeps me coming back more than the price is the customer service. I woke up the day after Thanksgiving to two flat tires, one of which wouldn't hold air due to a bad leak at the rim. Many shops were closed due to the holiday and the first shops I found that were open were unable to lower my spare tire because it had seized up with some rust and corrosion and sent me on my way driving around Fairbanks with two flat tires again. Finally, Simard Automotive on Illinois Street fixed me up and got me back on the road! They were professional, friendly, and went the extra mile! Not only were they able to drop my spare tire, which the other shops were unable to do, but they also replaced one of my tires, repaired another, inspected the other two, explained to me what the issue had been, and most importantly they did what it took so that I had a reliable vehicle to drive away in. Thank you Simard Automotive on Illinois St. and their manager Chris, you turned my day around in a big way!Service: Tires

I was very happy with Simard Automotive. They swapped my tires over for the winter and performed an oil change. I was so disappointed when the last crew at Alaska Chevron closed up with no notice, and was very apprehensive about going to new mechanics.
