Just a fun little PSA if you d like to go to the least professional AND least competent repair shop in town, check out H&H Service Center.I was feeling like I had a time crunch to get my vehicle winterized before the weather started to drop, and I made the mistake of taking my brand new vehicle there. Dropped it off 11/7 at 8am, and 11/8 I received a call that it ll be the higher end of my price quote - okay, fine - but the bad news is that they broke my exhaust manifold bolts in the process and will have to wait to get repair parts on Monday and I won t be able to drive it until then. Obviously that s irritating, but what can you do if your car is inoperable, right? Well I did some digging and calling around and found out that that is absolutely not a normal or regular happenstance during winterizations. So Monday rolls around, no contact. Tuesday, no contact. So I called them around 2pm, Tuesday 11/14, and ask where my car is. He told me they re running out the door to get the parts right now and my car will be done and he ll call by 4, 4:30 at the latest. 4:35 rolls around and I ve still heard nothing. I m paying Ubers and getting rides to take me from North Pole to Fairbanks every day, both ways, to work during this. I think the least they can do is communicate, but I digress. He told me they didn t get the nuts they needed with the bolts. So I tell him, You re really putting me out here. I need my car to be ready and a manager present first thing tomorrow. So I show up today, 8am 11/15, and lo and behold my car isn t done. For an hour I sit there waiting to speak to the manager since I ve already arranged a ride to town on my *only* day off specifically for this, reception is going to the back every few minutes and coming back up front to tell me he s still busy and not coming up, etc. Finally I have to leave for an appointment and I told him, again, I know this isn t your fault, but this has been an absolutely terrible experience. So I finally get the call my car is done and the manager is in and get the chance to talk to him at 4pm today. He has the gall to stare at me and ask what I need to talk to him about, to which I simply say the entire situation with my vehicle, more dumbfounded staring, I explain that they broke the exhaust manifold bolts off a car with less than 2k miles, he tries to say it happens, I tell him that s funny since I ve talked to multiple shops and they disagreed, then he tells me my *studs* were rusted (a change in verbiage that I noted). I d like to know how a car with less than 6wks on the road up here is rusted, honestly. So now it sits, waiting to be inspected by the dealership, who literally opened the hood and immediately saw things that would need to be redone.

The staff was very friendly yet professional. All were very knowledgeable and capable which made my first, but not last visit great. I felt very comfortable that my vehicle was well taken care of. Special thanks to Adam who made sure things were handled accordingly. I'm glad I found this place, it's a little hidden, but the find is worth it.

H & H saved my RV trip of a lifetime to Alaska. Called in the morning with a black tank issue & was told to come right over. Pulled in & they began working on my black tank issue within 10 minutes! Left three hours later & much happier! Hands down one of the best service experiences of my life. Highly recommend. Thanks again H&H!

Brought my car in for an exhaust leak several months ago. Ran rough right when I got it back, so I pulled back in & got a shrug. Leak I brought it in for not fixed, but they fixed a leak in a different place. They said some front and rear bulbs needed to be replaced and unfortunately I approved it over the phone and didn't ask the price. $156 to replace two front bulbs, $128 to replace one rear one. I questioned the high charge and was told the entire front and rear ends had to be taken off to replace the bulbs. Not true - older car and just required a few screws )I've done these myself easily). I asked them to test the coolant temp (not change it) and they did a coolant flush and charged $234. I brought the car back in again 3 more times for original exhaust leak and the car running rough. I finally looked at engine myself and there was a spark plug wire disconnected. They blamed it on the battery being loose (it was loose because they didn't secure it after changing the bulbs) and the battery would have pushed against the plug not pulled it out. Nice enough people, but instead of considering if they had caused a problem, they automatically denied responsibility, not to mention way overcharging. Because I drove it so long without noticing the plug wire, I burned a valve and ended up selling the car for $500 to a mechanic who could fix it himself. They never did repair the original leak I brought it in for, just shrugged and said that leak wasn't important (so why didn't they say that the 1st time?). I will never bring a vehicle to them again.

They are the only place now in town for RV repair etc.. Great staff. Frank was so helpful! We needed some roofing for our trailer we are repairing, and they were more than happy to order whatever we needed. Nice to have such an attentive place!!

I was very pleased with the service I received at H&H, from Frank at the desk and Jeremy, our mechanic. Of special note, I did have issue with an item I thought needed attention. I was most pleased with how quickly and thoroughly they addressed the issue. That s integrity!Service: Steering & suspension repairService: Steering & suspension repair

Satisfied so far. I won $250 off an oil change and full 75-point inspection on a light duty vehicle at a charity auction. They seem to have a well established business. The inspection was thorough, except that they did not tell me a level of how urgent anything was. They were communicative, and the inspection report listed each issue they found and even included pictures. They emailed it to me and called to discuss their findings. I had a lot of questions, particularly about priorities and further info on each concern. They got the mechanic to come chat with me, and his explanations were easy to understand. They did a few extra things, and I had my truck back by the end of the day.

The good news, they were able to diagnose 2 issues we were having with our RV propane system! The bad news, they did not have the part to fix it. Thank you for getting us in on short notice while traveling through.

Arrived in Fairbanks and noticed oil leak on rear tire of motorhome. Heard horror stories about trying to get timely repairs to MH in Alaska. Called at opening and explained our situation. They got us in immediately, diagnosed the issue and fixed axle seal leak for a reasonable charge. We were back in our RV park later that day. Very thankful for their help.Service: General repairs & maintenance

First off lady got my whole number wrong , address and everything. So I had to call her and find out of any updates. Service with car idk I spent over 2000 $ and car was the same. And they wanted over 10,000 for other fixes which I'm cool on that. We ended up getting new car

Had a great experience at H&H. We brought our RV to them after not being able to even get a callback from other RV mobile services. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. They facilitated the process with the warranty company, sourced all of the necessary parts, and excuted the repairs. We are very happy with our experience and would recommend to others.Service: General repairs & maintenance

This place is an absolute joke definitely won t be back! Supposed to be a quick fix on my four-wheel-drive, and every time they called me they wanted more money from the original quote because they had to do something else. Once I authorize those repairs, they kept changing their story and needing to get new parts trying to milk the job long story short a quick fix turned out to be a $2000 repair. Yes it s your typical shop who try to hose over their customers for every penny they can.

These guys saved my vacation. I came limping into Fairbanks in a MH with broken brakes and a squealing differential. They jumped straight into diagnosing, ordering parts, and scheduling the work. Five days later I was back on the road. If there is anything wrong with your Class A, B, or C take it here. These guys are good and have the equipment & knowledge to handle any repair.

They quoted us 300 last fall to remove the most basic intoxalock. Now that it can be removed, they paused and said 450 dollars. Well, another shop says the removal charge is 133!!! Talk to the DMV to get more info on the shop you choose

Got my car worked on here and although they did the inspection awesome and had great customer service and replaced the pipe my oil was leaking from but connecting parts are broken when previously the parts were good. Now my car has been sitting in the garage for 3 months and I ve paid well over $2500 for the replacement and labor work. Then once I took it back in to get it reevaluated they charged me again even though it was under warranty at this point.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Auto emissions testing

Dropped a truck off for an alignment, steering wheel was off (top was at 11 o'clock) picked it up after they "worked on it for 3 days" I was told "it's not perfect but it's as close as we can get it because your idler arm has some play" steering wheel was now at almost 3 o'clock position.Wasn't even worth going back in to argue as I knew they would blame the little play in the idler arm. Took the truck to Lithia and they had the alignment done and done correctly in 1 day. Will never return for business.

Best customer service! Fair shop prices and the job was done in a very reasonable amount of time. The tech took time to explain what was wrong with my vehicle and gave me adequate information to make a comfortable decision about services that need to be done.

My husband and I contacted H&H 2 weeks ago in reference to storing our truck and camper at their facility while leaving on a cruise. We met Tonya Clark who was just wonderful in helping us get everything stored. She was SO nice and extremely helpful and even shuttled us to and from the airport! Their prices are extremely reasonable and our property was stored behind a locked gate and was in perfect condition when we returned.Thank you Tonya and H&H!!!

We were happy to get in with these guys. I knew we d pay a premium price for them to work on our RV and van, as well as being in Alaska..but boy oh boy!! Get estimates and get it in writing before you hand over keys. When the RV was finished, and outside waiting, the shop manager walks through the waiting area and says The RVs done, I m gonna put two guys on your van so we can get you out of here don t think it as a courtesy to get you out of there. It is an underhanded ploy to double labor charges. Not cool. Shame on you!Our E350 van had rotors and pads replaced on all four. We supplied two front rotors and all pads. They supplied rear rotors. Bill was over $2200!!!!! After questioning why it was so high They adjusted the bill down to $1600. That s still an a double s reaming when you supply 90% of the parts.Brakes were squishy and pulled hard to the right when we test drove it. Had to go back and ask them to bleed the lines.Everyone was so nice!Don t be us! Get estimates in writing .before any keys are handed over.

I made an appointment to have an alignment done. Was told over the phone by Collin, they need to do a full inspection ($99) and an alignment ($98 or 99). That was fine.Found out they couldn't do the alignment due to needing new front end parts, I opted to complete the repairs myself since I can buy the parts for less than $1000 with my napa discount vs their $4000 quote. However, I can't do the alignment, so I called and made another appointment for the alignment to be completed. Spoke with Collin over the phone and he asked if the parts have been replaced and I explained that I did them myself. He stated great and got me in pretty quickly but stated nothing about the upped price for the alignment since they didn't replace the parts.I tried to explain to him multiple times that nobody said or wrote on the quotes that the alignment price would be increased to $159.99. He really did not seem to care. Unfortunately, I had to pay if I want my truck back. I will not be going back.Went back a week later to speak to a Manager, Eric. He refused to reimburse the $60 since the special was over. I explained multiple times, his service writers never stated when the "special" was over or the actual amount of the alignment when I made the appt.. but Eric stated he would give his service writers a "good talking to". Also, they do not give you before alignment specs so you can't verify if they actually did the work or needed it in the first place. I also found out I had a broken leaf spring they failed to notice during the full inspection. I will not return here and will let everybody I know whom needs work done to never go to H & H services.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We suffered major catastrophic driveshaft issues when our driveshaft U-Joints burst at both ends on our motor-home DP while on our Alaskan vacation.H & H was surprised to find us in their parking lot first thing in the morning after being towed in overnight but managed to start the process of gathering parts for our vintage motor-home the same day. Jeff the manager and Brett the technician kept us informed and did an outstanding job of getting us back on the road as quickly as possible. If you need service, especially heavy duty service H & H should be your first stop.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We had a water leak coming through the roof dripping inside our motorhome and a problem with one of the air conditioners. The young technician (Preston) was a newly graduated RV technician and had been on the job for one week per what he told me when I explained what I needed checked. I expressed my concern with his abilities to the lady in the office and she said they had a more experienced technician to help him if needed. After about three hours I was told our motorhome was ready. Preston said he found where he thought the leak was coming from and had sealed it and had also found a place along the edge of the roof that he also applied some sealant. He also said he had checked the air conditioner and believed the run capacitor was defective but they didn t have a new capacitor to replace the bad one. As far as I know they didn t try to locate one in town. The labor to apply the sealant on the water leak area was $220 and the labor to check the air conditioner was $175. So the labor was $395 for less than 3 hours work and an extra $20 for the sealant.A few days later I noticed several places along the roof line where Preston had smeared some Snow White sealant on the BLACK paint. The top edge and upper sides of our motorhome is BLACK. Why would anyone smear white sealant on exposed black paint.I have emailed the Service Manager twice and called and left a message on his voicemail to have him explain this but I have not had any response from him. This happened in August when I was visiting Alaska and it is now October and still no response. That is why I gave them a 2 star rating. I guess they know I was a tourist and would never be back.Update: After getting home I had the capacitors from the working middle AC swapped with the non-working front AC and the capacitors are not bad so their diagnosis was not correct so that was $175 wasted also.Services: Auto water leak repair, Air conditioning

The inspection result is my battery is good, however, the 12v plug refrigerator could consume too much power so the battery power indicator shows green for a short time to become red. This is totally incorrect. The battery is at zero level which can not hold to fully charged by solar. The level can be up to 10%. I went to O'Reilly and to find out it to be zero level. O'Reilly has helped me to have battery tested and fully charged. The analysis from H&H is a totally incorrect. The horrible thing is that the battery test fee charged by H&H is $161. That is ripped off from a guy out of state on the road trip in Alaska. I want to give a BIG WARNING that any out of state RV/Camper don't take service or repair by this store. It will give you a big/unreasonable check and incorrect testing result.Service: Battery

It should be more than 5 stars. We are traveling from Florida in a 40' motorhome and needed service in Fairbanks, AK. Oil, filter, total checkup after 7,000 miles on the road. I called on Wed and I could tell right away this business is very customer focused. Donnie scheduled me for service Fri morn. They took care of the service and also found a few issues with the coolant and some service codes in the computer. The price was more than reasonable. Now the best part. They had to remove the lower part of my roof ladder to get to the engine for service. They forgot to put it back and I did not discover it until we got to Denali. Donnie called me Tuesday morning, apologized for the mistake and drove the 130 miles to Denali to deliver the ladder. Outstanding service and most I have dealt with would not have gone out of their way to proactively call and admit their mistake, much less drive 130 miles to correct it. I would highly recommend H&H to anyone visiting or living in or around Fairbanks, AK. Thank you Donnie and H&H Service Center.
