Frank is not only a great honest guys but also does a great job, I never had issues after her worked on all my vehicles. All his employees are amazing too.

TLDR: call these folks firstI needed service done quickly and called just about every shop in town. Alaska Auto asked me about the issues I was having and told me straight up that they were not comfortable doing the work because it would require equipment that was likely only available at a dealership. Reflect on that for like five seconds that is so incredibly honest and professional of these folks. Without that advice I likely would ve gone to someone who might have made the problem worse and / or created new, more severe problems. On top of that, he gave me an estimate of how much the repair should cost in case I did decide to go to a non dealer shop. Call these folks first. They ll go above and beyond AND be completely transparent and honest. Best auto shop in Juneau

Frank is honest, straight forward and affordable. He's also the best mechanic I've ever used and has kept my beaters working for years. You need an appointment and even then it might be a few days before you can get in. Frank's weakness is his optimism, he'll say he'll get to the car on Tuesday or the car will be done tomorrow, but there's about a 50% chance he won't be able to keep to his schedule. Being patient and flexible is worth the sacrifice, you'll be rewarded with service, quality of work and a great price.

Made an appointment the week before to have my brakes looked at. Took the day off work and dropped my vehicle off at 8:00 in the morning like I was asked to. Hadn't heard anything by 3:00 p.m. so I gave them a call. No answer. Had to get a ride down there to find out that they hadn't done any work at all! Said he got too busy. No call to let me know that he wasn't going to get to my vehicle that day and I lost the whole day's pay because of it. Absolutely inconsiderate and offered nothing to make up for it. Just a shoulder shrug. Do yourself a favor and find another mechanic.

Frank at Alaska Auto Repair is the most trustworthy mechanic I have ever met. While other shops in town have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge regarding car mechanics, Frank was sincere and honest in telling me my car wasn't worth all the repairs it needed. A true gentleman and very much appreciated. Highly recommended!

Honest, good communication and friendly. Located in Douglas Alaska, only few miles from downtown Juneau. They're my go to car mechanics, greatly appreciated. Was always satisfied. 5 STARS !

Frank is honest and kind, and doesn't over charge. He does what needs to be done to keep people in transportation. I couldn't have gotten through this past year with my Subaru's needs without Frank there keeping me going.

I brought my car in to check the engine light diagnostic. They had my car for a total of 30 minutes before calling me with the diagnosis, for which they charged me a $100, a charge which feels totally excessive. I will not be returning.Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

Frank is awesome. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem, fix it, and get my car back to me lickedety split and at a fantastic price. Highly recommended!!

On a Mon, asked to postpone work sched for Wed. Said he'd work it into his fwd schedule. Six wks later no service, no call, no idea when. I get it- shop's busy. Took it elsewhere. 2 months go by, refuses to look at truck on new stuff. For some reason Frank just didn't want my business. Fine by me.

Complete failure. Made me wait all day long for a tow and promised to come get me when the shop was closed at 5 pm. 5 pm rolls around and he calls and says his tow truck doesn't work. Sounded very drunk and like he just didn't want to come and get it. Complete waste of time. As soon as my roadside assistance paid him he pulled this garbage. Do NOT TRUST THIS LIAR.

We love Alaska Auto - Frank is awesome at diagnosing truck, car and SUV problems. He is very determined to get give you a solution to any automobile noises, clanks and squealing.

I have been dealing with this company since the current owner bought the shop, and before that with the previous company since the 1980s. This company is owned by a good mechanic, nice guy, and someone that has always given me good advice about my car.
