Elliot was extremely helpful and very detailoriented. He explained the process and even suggested a few things before officially coming in to get my alternator replaced. I explained the situation of what my car was doing and how urgently I needed it fixed, he got me in the next day. I appreciate him and the crew at Superior Automotive, their prices were very reasonable and I will definitely be going back whenever I need help with my car again. Superior AutomotiveBorn and raised in Anchorage Alaska I used to have a great network of mechanics plumbers electricians etc I am having to rebuild my network up again to find someone who is dependable and most importantly HONEST is hard to find and once you find someone like that word travels fast I was referred to SUPERIOR AUTO by someone I know I was not disappointed I finally have found a reliable honest automotive shop which is very hard to find in this present time SUPERIOR was professional yet personable efficient knowledgeable and will go out of their way to meet your needs it just so happens I have used them twice now also he was quick to refer me to EAGLE TOW who was there in a flash and was also top notch I would recommend SUPERIOR and also EAGLE TOW to anyone Born and raised Alaskan always Debra kern

The gentleman at Superior Automotive were absolutely amazing! They did awesome work on my vehicle. They really helped me out in a bind. I will be using them from now on and anyone that asks me for a good mechanic will be sent their way. I can not say enough good things about Elliott and his crew! We have gone to so many different auto shops around town just trying to find one that is a honest, reliable and straight shooter. Elliott has always told us like it is and advised us in our auto care and repairs. We go here monthly for upkeep and oil changes and have never been disappointed by the services we have received. I had been going there for 15 years then when they changed my oil they forgot to put more in. Then they replaced my ground wire zipped tied it to the positive wire and it was arcing I took it back elliot had no time after I had spent over 800. So that was my bad 2 experience. I tried to give him a chance but I had to find another mechanic. I really miss butch. He cared about my truck sorry butch I tried

This is officially my go to place. They don't try to confuse you they explain and don't overcharge. They are extremely affordable even on a budget. I really appreciate these guys for taking care of me and changing my brakes. Elliott was really friendly and his whole crew was great. Thank you everyone for your kindness and hard work. I have gone to Superior consistently for oil changes, inspections, and any car issues without much thought. This last vist however I was told I needed to replace my catalytic converter. They quoted me about $1,500 for the catalytic converter and the cheapest place in town I could find to get it replaced was for $1,300. After bringing my car to the dealership to confirm that that was the only issue with my vehicle and that nothing else with the engine was going on, I was informed that there was NOTHING wrong with my catalytic converter and in fact the oil filter was leaking and loose and had been pouring oil all over the engine. Considering Superior took care of my oil changes I was shocked that they had such a drastic misdiagnosis.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

I will never take my vehicle anywhere else. Best service, honest as the day is long, friendly, knowledgeable, and accuracy in every visit.FOLLOW-UP: I was pretty bummed when Butch told me he was selling the business - I honestly wondered if the place would survive without him! Then, Elliot took over.If I wasn't on board with Superior Automotive before (which I totally was) I certainly am now! In fact, Elliot is starting to rival Butch in my opinion! Customer service, quality, honesty, a very small-town feel - it's all present in every transaction at Superior. I recommend this place to everyone I know because there is no auto shop in town that is like it or even comes close. Back are the days when you can truly trust your mechanic!A++++++++++++++

This place is AMAZING! I have had issues with my vehicle for the past 2 years along with bewildered mechanics that couldn't help me. When I realized that I would be in Anchorage for a day I knew I wanted to see if a big city shop would be able to help me and I was having anxiety at picking which one to go to. The reviews on here really spoke to me so I went with Superior Automotive. I called and spoke with Elliot and even with such short notice and a tight schedule he was able to not only get me in but fix the issue immediately! Turns out my U-Joints were toast and had a 90% probability of them breaking on me whilst driving back home from the looks of them! (Yes! They kindly showed me what the issue was and explained to me why it was a problem) Absolutely wonderful and friendly staff! Not only that, but it was much more cost efficient than I had been fearing. While waiting for my vehicle I noticed a few auto part couriers appear and deliver goods needed to Elliot and he was extremely personable, polite and kind with them and with everyone else who showed up at his place of business as well. I cannot thank them enough for helping me and I cannot recommend them enough either! If you choose Elliot and his superb team at Superior Automotive you will be in the very best hands!

Superior Automotive is hands-down the best shop in Anchorage. Elliot and his crew are accommodating, professional, and extremely efficient. Anytime I call with a problem or question, Elliot has given me helpful and honest answers. He is always able to get my truck in and gets it back to me quicker than I expect. I started with him just switching out my winter and summer tires, now he is my go-to for everything auto related. On top of being knowledgeable and efficient, his prices are competitive beating out everyone else I've gone to in the past. Best service without question!

I had been taking my rig to Butch for years. His crew always did a great job and he didn t gouge me on the prices. I just recently found out that this auto shop has a new owner. I was a little hesitant to bring my rig to them not knowing anything about the new owner and crew. I met Elliott, the new owner and he said all the same employees were still there, so I gave them a shot. They did a great job, just as they had in the past. Glad to see they are still doing good work.

Fantastic service! Elliott and crew are superb. Very friendly, professional, and eager to help and explain anything I asked about.I called them in the morning to get my brakes serviced (they were in rough shape) and not only did they get me in that day, they had me back on the road before closing!10/10 would break my car and take it here again

Had the front suspension pretty much rebuilt. Rolled out the garage and drove it from Anchorage to fairbanks that same day. Smoothest drive I have had since I bought the truck. EDIT: Over a year later and these guys have not changed. Reliable, caring and transparent. I fixed the issue myself but couldn't have figured it out without their help. Did not try to force other services or exaggerate the issue. My truck is an old thing so best believe I'll be coming back!

I have always had amazing service starting with Butch and now Elliot. I went in for a slow leak in one of my tires and Elliott pulled me right in and Eric repaired my tire efficiently. Very friendly and helpful. I'm always satisfied with Superior Automotive.

Elliott and his staff really live up to their name, Superior. I had called three other car repair places about a rattling sound. All three places said they might be able to look at my car in three or four days if I bring it and leave it. When I called Elliott at Superior, he said bring it in, we ll evaluate it today, and give you a call with an analysis in a couple of hours. They called just when they said they would and my car was repaired and ready for pick-up. Wow! Thanks guys! Well Done!

Butch and his team are a great combination. I was quoted work at a corporate mechanic shop before choosing Superior Automotive, but the price seemed too high for the work that my vehicle was in need of.He beat the price by a significant amount of money, and even after discovering a few more things that needed to be replaced, STILL beat the corporate quote! As mentioned by others they are honest, honorable, and treat people like people, not just another customer. You will not find a mechanic shop that treats everyone as fairly as they do. Also, get some fishing advice from Butch - he is an avid fisherman and loves to educate and inform!

Elliot and his crew do an excellent job and will always make things right. Since we have moved to Anchorage, we were unsure what shop to use and who is going to try take advantage of us and I don t feel like I ve ever gotten a bad deal here. Each time I ve dropped off my vehicle, they contact me with an update and diagnosis before installation. I highly recommend this shop for any repairs.

I took my car in to have it serviced and was told my radiator needed replaced, so I had them fix it, then picked it up the following day. A week later, I was sitting in a parking lot when I heard a thunk, my car started smoking, and green fluid started gushing onto the ground. I had to have it towed back to the shop.So you re probably wondering why the positive review? After explaining the situation to Butch (the owner), he said he would look at it first thing in the morning. Then he said did you have to pay for that tow? Because if this is our fault, we will reimburse you for it. Sure enough, it was, and the next morning he called me and explained what had gone wrong the first time they tried to fix the radiator. He explained that they had corrected the mistake, and that my car was ready to go. 3 things I liked:1) He took ownership of the mistake made by his shop2) He fixed the mistake (very quickly, and free of charge)3) He reimbursed me for having my car towed.Butch is honest, honorable, and treats people well. I didn't have to argue, yell, beg, or even plead my case to have the error fixed. And even though I would've preferred to avoid all that drama, I now know that they do, in fact, stand behind their work, no matter what. After that experience, I'd recommend Superior to anybody.

This shop is amazing. I delayed taking my Ford to the dealer because we all know what that means. I kept putting off the work I knew needed to be done because I was so tired of getting ripped off. I took a chance and went to Superior and boy has that place renewed my faith in humanity. Butch is not only as honest as the day is long he is a genuinely good guy. He has a great crew working for him and his business model is a success. Give this guy your business so we can reinforce and reward the people who are decent fellow human beings. He is my guy for life.

I have been going to Superior Automotive since 1998, and even though I now live in the Mat-Su Valley, we still drive to Anchorage to take our vehicles there because a good and honest mechanic is worth the drive. The customer service is excellent and when they fix something, it stays fixed! They will also tell you whether or not a given repair is worth doing, or if it's just time to replace that 15 yr old vehicle.

Have been dealing with Butch at Superior for about 4 years and couldn't be happier with the service they provide. It's hard to find an honest automotive repair shop anymore, but this place has restored my trust in knowing my truck was done right the first time. I had a front end component that I had replaced about 2 yrs ago, it took a crap and I brought it back to Butch 2 yrs later and he replaced it under warranty. Thank you for awesome customer service!

Had some work done and had to go back again since it wasn't done correctly the first time. On top of that my floor mats are covered in grease and had greasy hand prints everywhere. Almost like they don't care for much for the for customer service. I'll have to look elsewhere for any more work again.I would avoid them if I was you! I really question if their "techs" take pride into their work because it doesn't look like it. Just get it done and the car out the door really.

I came in here a little over a month ago and long story short I was lied to and had to pay. I came in to see about a check engine light and then get it fixed. I was told that my key fob was the reason for the check engine light. They told me the light should go off if I out my key fob on the top of my dash while driving. I knew this sounded off so I asked several times if they were sure because I haven't had this the check engine light come on before (my key fob has been broken for a year). They assured me they were sure and had me pay around 100$. After the check engine light didn't go off, I brought it to O'Reilly's to get my car scanned. They said my catalytic converter was defective. Superior Auto failed to be honest with me about the issue with my vehicle and then had the audacity to charge me for it. I am a woman but I am not a dummy and I don't appreciate that your business thought it was ok to take advantage of me. I will share my story with other and encourage them not to patronize this business. Take your vehicle to Sand Lake where they don't try to take advantage of people and are honest!

Butch was incredibly kind and honest to work with. I needed a third party to do a buyers inspection and he was able to get the vehicle in the next day to be serviced. I was very happy with the job done and would recommend working with Butch and his team. Thank you!!

Anchorage peeps. If you need a mechanic I highly recommend Superior Automotive Service. I drove up from Soldotna on Wednesday for my mother in laws surgery on Thursday. My truck died in anchorage Wednesday night. I called multiple places on Thursday morning and everyone was booked up for weeks! I really didn t want to leave my truck stranded in anchorage. Elliot the owner at superior was also booked up but said if I got my truck to him that morning he could probably help me out given my circumstances. I had it towed within an hour and 5 hours later my truck was fixed! Luckily it was a relatively simple fix but Elliot saved me tons of logistic hassle and rental car fees. He was super nice and accommodating!

Update: still as great of place as ever. My car was acting up and without questioning me they checked it. Turned out, it was something they recently fixed so was covered by warranty, I was not sad at all to receive some free work. All zeroes on a bill is amazing.Send my service here regularly, before I even think about buying a car it gets checked ny these blokes first, and always back to them for checkups.
