Been bringing my vehicles to Moore and Sons since the 90s. They have always been honest, professional and courteous. They've gone above and beyond all these years to help out our family.

The Best!I ve been taking my personal and business vehicles - & referring friends and family to Moore s for a couple decades now! Honesty is paramount when dealing with mechanics working on today s vehicles and the lack of customer knowledge is more significant than ever. Jim and Jeff have always been able to get my rig in the shop, diagnose it and give me a fair estimate for the fix.You can pay a little less but you re gonna end up paying more in the end when you end up at Moore s for a real fix! Thanks guys!!

Heard some clunking going on on my front left Wheel base on a Monday. Wasn't sure what it was, but sounded like the Bushing on the wheel base was broken. Called my dealership and they wanted $250 just to look at it! What in the world? Called Moore n Sons immediately and they told me to bring it in first thing in the morning Wednesday and they'd take a look at it and let me know whats going on and what they could do about it.Went and dropped my car off wednesday morning, there was a line out the door already, so I didn't think they would be able to get to my car. I got a call at 4pm telling me it was my Sway bar links that were broken and that they could have it fixed by 5. Sure enough my car was all put back together and ready for pick up!! impressive. Will definitely go back for any auto related incidents in the future with any of my vehicles. Reasonable prices, and good people.only Con- They picked on my Dallas Cowboys. But I'm use to it. lolService: General repairs & maintenance

Had brake pads and rotors replaced on vehicle. Picked up vehicle after they were already closed. They weren't finished with it until after closing. Minutes after leaving their shop had smoke coming out of one of the brake calipers. Called back first thing on the next business day and was told they couldn't look at it for a few days. A few days later called an hour after opening to confirm they could look at my vehicle on that day and was informed they couldn't look at it on that day since they were busy. Was told to call back later and see if they could schedule me for another day. Not sure why they want someone to make an appointment if the appointment isn't really holding you a spot for your vehicle to get looked at? Ended up having it towed to another shop to have it looked at because I couldn't wait more than a week without a vehicle. Had they road tested the vehicle after they installed new pads and rotors they would have noticed one of the calipers had seized up. I'm sure they don't care about this review because they are a very busy shop. The person I spoke with could not have cared less about the fact that they had worked on it and it wasn't functioning as soon as I left their shop. $1600 later another shop fixed it. I would not recommend this business.

The gist of it is that these people are not honest. They charged me $200 more than their original quote, then acted like I just made the quote up myself. They also had no record of my appointment when I got there (the guy at the counter said appointments are all in his head). Ultimately I had to wait a week longer than expected to pick the car up because they failed to order parts ahead of time. They are also extremely rude and unprofessional. I d give them no stars if it were an option.

Wait time they give is a joke. Said 2 hours. Checked after 2 and 3 hours, did not get done til 5 hours later for a 35min tire change over. Even getting there before they open is a 2hour wait to begin with. Waste of time. Won't let you know it will take longer unless you keep bugging them. Then they'll make you feel you're the nuisance and the one that wasted their time when you ask about the status of your vehicle. They also charged for a replacement part that they lost. Women beware they will overcharge you and think it's funny. They only like White Women who flirt with the owners/front desk staff. Sad they get away it.Service: Tires

The new set of Yokohama tires recommended by Moore & Son's for my full size SUV made a huge difference in ride and comfort. The ride is smoother and quieter; the tread performs great on wet pavement; and the tires were in stock so I didn't have to wait.Service: TiresService: Tires

They are reliable and trustworthy. I know when I take my car in that they will fix it the right way and will alert me if there are any other issues. No pressure, no problems. I've been taking my car there for 20 years

The guys at Moore and son's are great. Great customer service and great deals. They did a buyer's inspection on a vehicle for me, gave me an estimate of the costs to fix it and even helped me figure out a fair price for the vehicle prior to purchasing it. Long story short, the dealership took the offer, they fixed up the vehicle for me and the vehicle is running great. Thank you again for all the help! I definitely recommend this place!

I was recommended to this place by a friend. My tire was flat but I needed to be at work by noon, giving about 1.5 hours to fix everything. They had me in and out under an hour and I barely paid anything. I'm so happy! Highly highly recommend! Will definitely be coming back!

Very expensive, go elsewhere for the same service and pay less. Example oil changes.

I knew I needed a lot done to my car and asked for a list of things needed for it to be safe and a list that could wait with estimates in price. They said they would do an inspection when I dropped it off Thursday afternoon and give me a call. No call Friday, they re closed over the weekend. They called Monday with the inspection done but had no estimate for me and would call me back. Tuesday they let me know the price I tell them to go ahead. They said they d be done by tomorrow. I hear nothing the next day. Friday I call them and they re almost done. I picked up my car, the estimate was in the ballpark of what they gave me. I did not get a second opinion. It seems to be working well, but it took them more than a week.

Review for Moore and SonsI had a very horrible experience with Moore and Sons. They lied to me multiple times. They made my car worse than the first time I brought my car there. Now, my car is breaking down. I m hearing more weird sounds.I brought my car to Moore and Sons for the FIRST TIME because I heard a weird noise on the driver side. The guy said, it was one of the belts that was making the noise and he changed that belt (cost me almost $200). My husband asked them to check everything because I want my car to be ready for winter and make sure the car is in great condition. The guy said, don t have to worry about that, your car is fine .After I got my car back, I called them because I am still hearing the same noise. Few days later my car just died in the middle of the road. My car just suddenly stopped working after just a few days from this shop. I had to tow my car to Moore and Sons (cost about almost $100). The SECOND TIME my car in the shop this time he said the alternator was broken and they changed that too (cost about $600).I got my car back again after the second time in the shop and I called them again because I was still hearing the same frkn noise. The guy said to bring my car back to the shop again for the THIRD TIME. He said it was one of the axles that making the noise, so he changed that axle (costs about $325).For the FOURTH TIME, I called them again and said I am hearing the same noise and it s getting worse. He then promised to get to the bottom of this to fix the problem. Guess what! He LIED he never fixed it. I am driving this car with more noises than the first time I brought my car to this shop. The problem is even getting worse, and I spent a lot of money trying to fix this car that does not have much value. My car is old and worth about $2,500 and they ripped me half of that amount. They lied to me multiple times. THIS CAR SHOP RIPPED ME OFF! WITH THE PROBLEM REMAIN UNFIXED!

I had and excellent experience with Moore and Sons. The initial quote was over $1200 but they were able to find a way to save me some money and got the work done very quickly. They were very polite and helpful. I will continue using them for future vehicle needs!

They seem to have performed quality work, however you need to be very careful about verbal price quotes. We received a quote over the phone, dropped of our vehicle in the evening using the key drop. The work was finished quickly, but when we picked the vehicle up the price had gone up by over $140 from what was discussed over the phone. We usually get emailed price quotes, but didn't have time and it really bit us. The employee also said standard practice is to verify the charge when the vehicle is dropped off, but that didn't happen since we used the night drop and no one called to confirm. This was not for additional work or parts, it was just an unexplained difference in price. It was a stalemate of the classic "he said, she said" so we ended up paying. The price was still in the general ballpark of other quotes, but it was very disappointing and we might have gone elsewhere given the final price.Be careful to get a written price quote and make sure you know their policy about any hidden or extra charges in advance!

8/6/13, Arrived at 7:30 AM after being promised the sooner I got in, the sooner the repair would be done. Estimate was $460 for a right front wheel bearing replacement. Found one rear brake light not working. I agreed to this work, but unfortunately didn't get a written estimate. They said it would take about 2 hours. Four hours later, it was finally done. The bill? $571.12. Seems they forgot to mention a "passenger front abs sensor" @$101.09 when giving the estimate and my agreeing to the work. They charged me for the brake light bulb, but not the labor to put it in. Wow! WARNING: Get the estimate in writing, and plan on twice the length of time as they promise. Their mechanics seem to work at a snail's pace.

My mom took her 2007 Honda Accord in for a diagnostic test last winter because it would not start. They called her and tried to sell her on changing multiple things and I decided I better just go in there and check to see what is going on. When I got there the guy at the front desk tried to pressure me into changing the belts, battery, fuses, and starter. I thought that was crazy since I just bought a brand new battery from Autozone 2 days prior. I told them i would take it for a second opinion, I took my car down to Honda Continental were their experts told me all I needed was to change the starter and that everything else was fine. I do not know how someone can lie and try to steal from an old lady like that, especially when they are depending on them for transportation in the winter.Service: Electrical

The engine on my '96 Chevy was running a little rough so I took it in to get checked out on Tuesday as soon as they opened. I was told all it needed was just a tune up and that it should be done by the end of the day and they said they would give me a call. I called them later that day and they said they hadn't gotten to it. I had finally received a phone call Friday afternoon saying that they were finally done with it, they close in two hours and they're closed on weekends. After having to take time off work to get there before they closed I had received my $1045 bill for a tune up, transmission fluid change and oil change. It took 4 days and cost me $1045 not including having to get transportation for those 4 days. I will not be going back.

I was recommended Moore & Sons by a guy I trusted at Autozone. I showed up at 3pm on a Friday as a first time customer without an appointment. Jeff and Mrs. Moore were at the front desk and they had my tires fixed in less than an hour and the cost was so shockingly low that I did a double take. It's the only tire and auto shop that I'll go to in Anchorage! Thank you!

My on demand heating system went out on a friday. I called on Saturday and a technician called me back. I was able to describe the problem and he was honest in telling me that he would not have the needed part and it would be best to wait til Monday. On Monday I called and was shocked by what they would charge. $180/ first hour and $200 for every hour after. IT was outrageous!! I was able to replace the part on my own, it was a $27 part and took me 10 mins. These rates are very unreasonable.

Can NOT recommend.I came from out of town to have $1400 worth of work done. I was very specific about coming from out of town and that I had to be back on the road before dark. They told me it would be 2 hours. There were no problems but it took them eight hours. They acted very laxidasical and unconcerned.

Had them fix my windshield wiper and do routine maintenance. Cost me about $100 in parts (oil, filter, wiper piece, and a belt). And cost me $500 in labor. Well the belt they put on came loose the next time I started it. Since my family was in town for the weekend, we put it back on ourselves. Called them after we got back from vacation and told them what happened. Guy on the phone basically said since we fixed it ourselves there is nothing they will do because they wouldn't be able to see what they did wrong. I hinted that they should do something and the guy blew me off. I asked him if next time should I just cancel my family weekend vacation so that they could see the belt off the next Monday? He again said there is nothing they could do since the belt was on. I don't expect much but maybe just a free hour of labor would have helped out a lot. I will never go back here again.

Went in for a tire turnover today at 1. Asked how long it would take. 1.5 hr. So I walk around the mall for an hour. No problems. At 2:30 I'm told I will be next. At 3:00 my truck is still in the lot. I understand it is hard to predict an exact time. But if I had been told it would be over 2 hours I would have moved on. I had an appointment at 4 and had to leave without the work being done. No apology.

This is the worst customer service ive ever received so far.One of my friends told me that they have a good winter tires deal for only 29.99$ So i called(10/02/18 13:28)to check them and the guy on the phone was extremely rude.I asked him to tell me more about the deal and he was like sir i dont know what you re talking about we dont have that deal , youre in a wrong place. So i was ohh im sorry but anyways how much approximately are your winter tires. He was like sir what size sir, tell me what size I understand this guy might be going through a lot in his personal life, but he shouldn t express that while hes on his shift, especially being a phone customer service. FAIL !

Bunch of crooks. Told them to do a general tune-up and check out some systems - NOT TO REPLACE ANYTHING, but to call first. They replaced everything they could get their grubby hands on without contacting us whatsoever. Ended up being charged over $2000 for what should have been a $400 checkup. Tried to talk it out with them but they couldn't have cared less; their only concern was shoving me out the door. Incompent, dishonest, and money hungry. Avoid this shop at all costs.

I cannot say enough nice things about Jim Moore and the entire crew at Moore and Sons. I took my car to them for what could've been a catastrophic problem and they informed me that this problem was covered by an extended warranty by the dealer. Let's just say that my experience with the dealer was not stellar, and Jim Moore took it upon himself to make sure that I was not taken advantage of. They ended up doing the work that should've been done in the first place. Moore and Sons will forever have my business. Their honesty, integrity and good work ethic is refreshing. If you want to take your car to someone you can trust, Moore and Sons is your place. Thank you Jim and everyone else at Moore and Sons. Ronda Nakoa
