AWESOME from the very start, everything about Great Alaskan Holiday was perfect. Reservation was simple and the staff was helpful and easy to work with. The cost was reasonable and competitive. The equipment was newer and we always felt safe and secure. There were no hidden fees or surprises when we returned the motorhome.Thank you GAH for the wonderful memories!

Our family had the most incredible vacation exploring Alaska in a GAH RV! The online booking process was easy. The customer service was superb from the moment I booked. Each person we interacted with with questions during our trip planning, arrival, during our rental and return of the RV were friendly and very helpful. Our RV was clean and everything was in great working order. Returning the RV was easy and quick, and there were no hidden/additional charges at return. Thank you Great Alaskan Holidays!

A dream come true! Our Alaskan adventure was spectacular. From the moment we confirmed the RV rental with Great Alaskan Holidays, until we signed the drop-off paperwork, everything about this company was high class. We traveled over 1650 miles exploring the beautiful state of Alaska in our well-stocked, clean, and comfortable Minnie Winnie. What started as the "trip of a lifetime" has transformed into a "lifetime of trips", and only with Great Alaskan Holidays! Sarah and Steve

We just wrapped up an incredible 2 week vacation spent in a GAH RV. They were recommended by a friend who lives here in Alaska and definitely did not disappoint. Our motor home was spotless, check out and turn in were easy, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We had such a fantastic experience with GAH that we will definitely use them again when we return for our next Alaskan adventure.

First time RV-er (2024 Minnie Winnie 25B). Please read if you're a first timer too. 100% recommend Great Alaskan Holidays (GAH) and would definitely use them again. Did lots of research (including personal RV rentals) and read lots of reviews. Let's start with things they don't tell you:1. Get the insurance! We passed through a a section of highway that was stripped of the surface blacktop (Alaskan winters are rough, allegedly ) and some idiot came by at 45-50 mph and flung a rock into our windshield while I was doing about 15-20 mph. Huge spider web cracks one hour into our trip! Called GAH and they said we're covered. Would have cost $966 to replace it!2. Turn off the water pump when you're hooked up to water at a site. Otherwise you drain your freshwater tank, which you then have to fill (although not difficult, just time consuming).3. Step on the toilet pedal halfway BEFORE you drop a deuce. Fill the bowl enough to avoid unsightly skid marks and stuck poopies in the bowl. This may be the most important one.4. Dumping an RV is easier than Hollywood would lead you to believe. Although I wish GAH provided a pair of gloves in the RV storage for this like one of our RV parks (Cantwell RV Park) because it was really nice to have. Don't forget to drain the black first!5. If you're a person who wakes easily by sunlight, Alaskan summers provide plenty from about 12am to 3:30am. It sneaks through every crack. Curtains were enough for beds, but the RV entry door window has no cover which illuminates the middle of the RV if anyone sleeps on the sofa bed or dinette table bed. Sky lights don't have covers either, though they are small and the one over the rear bed could be covered by opening the cabinet (which opened upwards).6. Watching an RV drive down the road is way different than riding in one. Driving was OK and easy to get used to if you've driven anything large before, but the ride is very loud compared to your personal vehicle. The wind and turbulence was a little more than we expected, but we got used to it. Turn on your signal early for changing lanes if you want the equipped side view cameras to assist you. They take a blink or two to come on, but are super helpful in traffic and even navigating tight turns in a campsite. The staff at GAH were really helpful and friendly, but they get you out on the road quickly, so be sure to ask questions and feel comfortable before you leave. However, they helped on the phone while we were out (windshield and fridge went out for a bit).25B was perfect for our family of 4 (kids are 10 & 13). Four nights didn't seem like enough, though. Could've done 6 or 7, but the first leg of our trip was on a train to and from Seward (which I would definitely recommend). We did zero boondocking (to please the wife), but would've enjoyed one night of that too. We did utilize quite a few pullouts to explore, eat lunch, take photos, etc. so that was cool. It's fun to have everything with you as you drive, especially when somebody has to pee and there's nothing around for like 25 miles. If you go to Denali, stop at the MP 221 pullout for RV lunch, dinner, or just take on the views. It's by a river and there's lots of room. That one would be fun to boondock too. Slightly off the road and steps from a river. Hurricane Gulch is a little scary of an exploration, but a must stop if you appreciate unbelievable views, including a good view of Denali. Be careful!Stayed one night at Talkeetna Camper Park. Good experience, besides laying down to sleep at 11:30 when a freight train zoomed right behind the park. Luckily not asleep yet. Great location to walk into town from. Really cool little town.Stayed two nights at Cantwell RV Park while we visited Denali. Good experience. Great location for Denali base camp. Not much else around.Stayed one night at Paradise RV Park before returning the RV. Good experience. Probably best of the 3 for hookup (sanitary hookup at the RV site). Middle of farm fields, but nice to have grass under your feet at the provided picnic table for dinner.

Thank you GAH. We arrived around midnight and found our rig warm and the bed made for a comfortable sleep upon arrival. Quick attention and repair was made (battery replacement and functioning grill) before we left the lot. The 31H Minnie Winnie we rented fit all our needs for 3 adults and a toddler.Only concern I have on this unit was the master bed became wet and stayed wet through our full 22 day rental. Not sure if it was the water tank leaking/sloshing, or rain water, or abundant moisture under the mattress (plywood platform and mattress very wet).

Hands down the BEST folks to do business with. NO HIDDEN FEES. All clear and upfront. Lots of options to add to your experience. Great units for going off the grid. No generator use charges. We leased a 22M Winne and it was perfect. Able to get in and out of restaurant parking lots and get creekside on the Denali Highway along Clearwater Creek.

I highly recommend Great Alaskan Hoildays. This was our second time renting a Class C RV from them. We loved everything about the RV and the staff both times. They were easy to work with when I had to change my pickup time twice. The RVs are new and very clean. We had no issues with the RV mechanically either. It could have not been better. We will be back again soon for another Alaskan Holiday.

Family of 9 including grand kids! Rented a 31 ft and a 28 ft RV. Had a great time . We went north as far as Denali National Park and south to Homer AK. It s a great way to travel allowing for flexibility with stops and meals which we mostly cooked in the RV s.This was our second time renting from this company in AK and would recommend to others.

Renting an RV with Great Alaskan Holidays was a great experience. From the first emails and phone calls, to the rental and returning of the RV, everyone was very courteous and helpful. I like that they have a video to watch, before going there, to go over the necessary details of RV use. Plus, when you show up, they give you more tips and tricks to make your life easier and make sure you don't screw something up. In all, the RV was great and so was the rental/return process.

Loved GAH!! From the beginning we had great customer service. Our late night arrival was easy to get to our RV for the night. The check out process/orientation was easy and actually had a great time visiting with Holly and Brandon about things to see and do while in Alaska. RVing was definitely the way to go this trip. With the newer RVs we were never worried about breaking down or any down time due to needed services. We were able to go where we wanted when we wanted and with unlimited miles we drove all over this beautiful State. At the end of our journey the check-in process was just as quick and friendly and the courtesy shuttle to the airport was greatly appreciated. Thanks GAH for many fabulous memories!

We had a great time in Alaska with the motor home we rented from Great Alaskan Holidays. The staff was always friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help us out. Even when things outside their control came up they we always nice and kept me up to date on the situation. The motor home was in perfect shape and ready at the time they promised. Everything we asked to be included was there. Even the video that they have you watch was good and I, a 30 year RV veteran, learned a thing or too.The had a lot of options when it came to propane and gas refill. I chose the 'don't worry about it option' and I'm glad I did. their gas prices were less than the going rate. The only things I think I could have wished for would have been a awning since it rained a lot in Seward and a backup camera. The unit was clean and fairly new. The beds were comfy and had enough space for all of us.I would highly recommend them and plan to use them next time we visit Alaska.

Excellent experience from the easy online rental to pickup and return. We thoroughly enjoyed our Winnebago Solis. It was perfect for our family of 3 to travel across Alaska and had everything we needed to make our trip comfortable and enjoyable. We appreciated we could easily park at any parking lot or campground. Overall we would highly recommend!!

Had a wonderful bucket list trip. Rented a 25' FR. Landed at midnight and took a cab to GAH. Had arranged for us to sleep in the RV. Instructions were simple, got there and got into the RV and slept the first night. Was up early and on our way to nearby Walmart by 9am. RV was easy to drive and only issue we had was a check engine light. We called and were advised to keep going. Stopped by GAH while passing through Anchorage to check it out. Only took 15 minutes and dumped and topped off the water tank while we were there. We only had reservations in Seward and Williwaw campground (4 of 14 nights). Seward you need reservations, but otherwise was glad to have some flexibility in our schedule. The first week there was a lot of rain and we adjusted parts of the trip with hopes of clear weather at Denali which were got! So glad we went!

Checking into Great Alaskan Holidays was so effortless due to the amazing service person we had, Leslie. As it was our first experience she was very patient and took extra time to show us all of the things in the RV, and make sure that we were comfortable before we pulled out, for an incredible holiday in Alaska.Leslie is a truly exceptional and friendly person who really looked after us.This was our first RV experience and we had an amazing time, we travelled as far north as Fairbanks and as far south as Homer, and the van never let us down.Would thoroughly recommend the RV experience and particularly for Alaska. In addition to the travel, the experiences of bears in Denali, reindeer at the North Pole, salmon and bears in Valdez, Glaciers in Whittier, Halibut in Homer, bears, bears and more bears in crescent lake out of Soldotna, Lynx in Kenai and Belugas in Girdwood. This state has it all and is a nature lovers paradise. We could truly truly live here and loved the experience, and Great Alaskan Homidays made it all the more special.

3 weeks on the road in Alaska, nothing can compare. 3500 miles camping in forest or campground, the RV was awesome! Be sure to get unlimited mileage.

My wife and I try to make it up to Alaska every year and our favorite way to experience the state is via renting an RV from Great Alaskan Holidays! They are so great!! Their RVs are always clean and issue free. They come with a cooler, stainless steel pots and pans, plates, bowls, forks, knives .they ve got it all!! We ve rented RVs elsewhere but we found GAH is levels above the rest. My only advice to anyone renting is that there is a Holiday gas station 1/2 mile south of the GAH headquarters. DON T prepay to have the gas filled and the propane filled. It s so easy to have everything topped off at the Holiday gas station. There are probably circumstances where prepaying for these things is warranted BUT we used the propane for 12 days, the furnace, the fridge, the water heater and we only used 1/3 of propane and had prepaid $55.00 for a full tank because we didn t know how or where to get propane. After we got the rental the detailed manual they give you actually recommends the Holiday gas station for filling up both gas and propane! All in all it s always such a great experience. They even have a shuttle service to and from the ANC airport. Keep up the great work GAH see you again next year!! :)

We rented an RV instead of taking a cruise while in Alaska, drove to Homer, Whittier, Girdwood, Seward and all over. This is a great way to see The Last Frontier and the wildlife. Tons of campgrounds everywhere that are dry camping and lots of full hook up places too. You'll meet the coolest people from all over the world and see some amazing sights like glaciers, rivers, mountains, trees, bears, moose, otters and wild Americans, lol. Gotta try it.

We had a great trip in our 31 Minnie Winnie rental. Had a small issue with the shower or we would have given it five stars. Friendly staff, easy check-in and out. We will be back next year!

We couldn t have been happier with our 7-day RV rental from Great Alaskan Holidays! We arrived after hours and were able to sleep in our RV the first night and we on our way by 7:30am the next morning. Love the expedited check-in process and ability to watch orientation video and complete all other required pre-rental details in advance of arrival. All in all, it was a fantastic rental experience from start to finish!

I would rent from another company in the future due to TERRIBLE customer service. We rented a 31 ft RV for a 2 week road trip around Alaska. The RV was new and in great condition. However, the customer service was the worst I ve ever seen. We waited a very long time upon arrival for the shuttle and then we didn t receive any orientation on the RV. They just gave us the keys and told us what spot it was parked at and closed up the office since it was 6pm. Upon returning the vehicle we arrived 15 minutes before our scheduled drop off time and got no directions on what to do. After we finally got help and had our RV inspected we witnessed the manager Shannon screaming at her employee saying we weren t on time and she didn t believe us (The security cameras would have shown otherwise because we were ON TIME). While waiting on the shuttle back to the airport we witnessed that same manager screaming at a customer who just arrived to pick up their camper. She told him she was cancelling his reservation and she stormed off like a child. Mind you, the customer was nice and kept his cool at this point. It was the most unprofessional event I ve ever witnessed from a manager. I would like to thank Nebula for providing in house entertainment and jokes to make us laugh off the crazy situation and Tania for being so kind and nice! I just feel bad they have to work under someone so rude and mean to them.

We had an amazing experience; from the shuttle service at the airport (Lydia was awesome) to the return. Our first time renting an RV couldn't have gone smoother. Our class C was perfectly clean and stocked with everything we needed. If we ever make it back up this way we will use them again.

This was our second trip to Alaska and by far the best. We loved having the freedom of the RV (24 ft) to stop where ever we wanted and go where ever our hearts took us. The RV was clean and the staff was great. They took the time to answer all our questions as this was our very first time in an RV. I only gave four stars because we had a couple minor problems. The cabin door was sticky and it was tough for both of us to operate to close and lock / unlock. Our water heater worked for one night and then broke. The technician who my husband spoke with was very helpful and was quick to call us back, unfortunately there was nothing he could do over the phone and wanted us to go to a repair shop in Fairbanks. Our time was limited there and we didn't want to take any time away from our experience. If I could give 4 and 1/2, I would. We are already planning our 2022 trip and will definitely be going with Great Alaskan Holidays!!!Sincerely,Mike and Lori Frail

Wonderful experience. Simple pick up, quick and efficient process. Loved the ease of using the coach and the flexibility it gave our travel plans. Return was timely and hassle free. Honestly a lot easier that what I had expected. Can t wait to go back and will absolutely be renting again! Thanks so much.

Thank you for making our dream vacation possible! We rented a 25 foot C class forest river forester. We drove to Denali national park and made the best memories in our RV. Absolutely worth the price. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the shower was bigger than we expected!

We had great experience with our rental of the 2021 new forester 22 foot RV. Not difficult to drive at all. Condition was great. Only complaint was that there were quite a bit of mismatches between the vehicle and the instruction video. GAH should consider updating the video given this amount of new purchases.

I don't normally post reviews but I wanted to do so because I think GAH got a bad rap this year due to some unforeseen circumstances, which should not tarnish an otherwise good track record for the past 35 years. We were one of the fortunate ones who got exactly what we signed up for with our rental. Our RV was a new 2022 model, clean and the right size and was available for pickup right on time. The airport shuttle was quick and efficient, the checkout process was smooth and the customer service reps were very friendly. The RV was well stocked with fresh linens, towels, and all the kitchen supplies. The refrigerator was full size, the gas stove and heater worked great, the water tanks were large - we had enough capacity to go dry camping every night for 8 days without ever paying for electrical or water hookups. We did two water fill-ups and two tank dumps and drove almost 1200 miles in 8 days.We made sure to get the RV back in time to avoid any late charges and did the gas/propane fill-ups within a 5-mile radius of GAH - just as they requested. There were no hidden charges or late fees - everything was exactly as advertised. When you drive throughout Alaska the GAH RV's are the most common RV's you see on the roads. They have a lot of inventory and a lot of happy customers. The reason they are strict with the pickup and dropoff times is that it is a logistical challenge to get all of the families on the road at the right time and they cannot afford to fall behind schedule. I completely understand. The one negative I would echo from some of the other comments was that the firewood was not very good, but can you really fault them for a $5 purchase out of a $2500 rental? Thanks to GAH we had one of our best and most memorable vacations - it was truly a Great Alaskan Holiday.

I came to this place because of good reviews.Be sure to check some non-5 star reviews before you make your purchase decision. Those are more helpful than some 5- star big-word reviews. We had an amazing experience in Alaska however our RV return process was really unpleasant. The staff was rude and unreasonable. Please Check some other one star reviews. We actually have similar experience and this will help you make decisions. So here is the story. They charged us $ 250 as they claimed that rear luggage door was damaged and this was our responsibility. Actually, this is definitely an a accumulated damage.Because of the bad design, every customer who rented this RV created an additional damage of it. When we rented this RV, the accumulated damage showed up. The forced us to pay the replacement of it.They initially even asked us for $ 770 to get it replaced. I suggest anyone who is planning to rent their RV, please be careful about this. Take a picture before you start your journey or simply bypass this overrated place. The damage charging is totally a trap! Check my picture below to make sure you avoid this trouble.

Had great experience renting the RV with Great Alaskan Holidays. Entire process - reservation through to return process was very well managed. RV I received was exactly as per the advertisement and very clean / well maintained. This was my first RV experience and it couldn't have gone better. My kids noticed that more than half the RVs at every parking lot we were during our 8 day trip were from Great Alaskan Holidays so that says a lot. Pricing was also very competitive, so I will definitely come back to these guys and recommend to my friends.
