LOVE these guys! My husband purchased his dream truck from an auction and after having the guys at Fish Motors look it over, we were given the not-so-great news that it needed a lot of work. Even so, they were honest with us about the costs and whether it would be worth fixing. They checked to see where the oil was leaking from first because if it was a blown head gasket, it wouldn t have been worth all the other work it needed as well, so they obviously value honesty and integrity above making money and I really appreciate that! It s hard to find honest mechanics but I can confidently say these guys are one of them! Thank you for making my husband a happy man!!

I came to Fish Motors at the recommendation by my daughter. She said that Gary runs an honest, trustworthy, and economical shop. I have to agree! When my car dealership became difficult and expensive to work with, I turned Fish Motors. He has repeatedly taken good care of my car. He is a gem of a mechanic.

We had a great experience working with Fish! Before coming to Fish Motors we had spent over $1,500 and made three shop visits, only to have our issues persist. Fish motors has fantastic communication, fair pricing, timely service, and they did quality work. I think we found our new mechanic!

Pulled up to pick up my brother's car and somewhere along the way something had put a hole in my radiator. They pulled my car into the shop and fixed it up while we stood in their shop. Great people, excellent service. Highly recommend.

Driving through Alaska from the lower 48, my alternator failed me. The local Lexus dealer was not willing to help me so I was stranded. Gary immediately took me in that morning, checked on Parts availability and promised the car would be ready that afternoon. As his mechanic was pulling my car around, Gary s sharp ears heard noises coming from my brakes. On closer inspection, we discovered I needed new pads and rotors. He told me he would work late and get everything done so I could stay on my schedule and he did! He even brought the car to me! How is that for service? Oh, and by the way, his pricing was half what I paid for the same repair at my loval Lexus shop five years ago. What more can I say about this shop? Outstanding?

Very straight forward and honest. Prices are fair and this shop doesn t rob people or take advantage of the fact a lot of people Don t know How to do simple tasks on their vehicles (air filters Etc) . I brought my quote in from the dealership and the person working at the Fish told me what was and was not necessary. Also what could be done to Help with the upkeep of my car. Highly recommend

This is the perfect shop. No BS, no funny business. Just a fixed car, every time. My car went in for some brake work and a standard maintenance. I had a little minor body damage on a piece of molded plastic. I mentioned it, said I didn t really want to spend the $$ to replace the part. When I went to pick up the car, not only was everything completed, but they had taken the time to do a very tidy repair job on the molding.I ve been returning ever since, and I m glad to watch an honest, value-minded shop grow. I had gotten used to dealer shops always having 100 tiny parts and pieces at every scheduled maintenance. But, Fish worked for those shops for years, and he knows what s necessary and what s just padding the bill. Went to Fish Motors off a recommendation and I m so glad I did. Another shop in town wanted to charge me more than double what these guys did. Gary is professional and knowledgeable. Christian was very personable and took the time to show me some of the work he did. I have a toddler and one on the way...my car now feels very safe and reliable. Thanks Fish Motors :)

Hands down the best experience I've ever had at an auto shop. Gary set up shop a few years ago and he's proud of what he's established here.When I walked into the shop he greeted me with a handshake and gave me a quick tour of the area to include his framed certifications over a work bench. I've never been treated like that at an auto shop before and it was refreshing to see the pride he took in his shop and achievements.Gary ended up saving me money and time and was completely up-front about my truck's issue, what it might or might not be, how long it would take to diagnose and how he could approach fixing it. He included ball-park costs to each solution and how he felt each would play out. He was genuine and held nothing back.Over the course of 4 days, Gary analyzed my truck's behavior. He cleared my dashboard errors and repaired my truck, handing me the parts he removed while explaining what was wrong with them. I didn't notice it until later, but he even took it upon himself to clean and replace my corroded battery terminals without me even asking. This guy...I have to mention that I saved thousands of dollars with Gary's work, so even the extra stuff Gary did was just icing on the cake. I'm not going to anyone else for my auto needs as long as I live in Anchorage.

Drove all the way from Minnesota to alaska. Pulled into Anchorage with a power steering leak. They were able to get me into the shop within the hour I called. The mechanic was so fast and thorough, I was done within 30mins and barely cost me a dime. Best shop in town.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

The best mechanic I've ever worked with. They do what they say, let me know what I need now, and what I need later. No BS, no drama, nothing extra. I am thankful I have a place like this to bring my vehicle. Always does my routine maintenance and advises me on the best way to get my rig fixed up. Thank you Fish!!!!

I postponed taking my Subaru, which was having random brake grinding, to Fish Motors, based on my general frustration with every other mechanic I've done business with in Anchorage. Finally prompted by a friend, I booked an appointment a couple of days in advance because Gary, the owner, is busy, and for good reason. He is an excellent mechanic and his price is nothing but honest and very reasonable. He fixed the problem (built up rust on the antilock brake sensor) in a few minutes. I won't be taking my car anywhere else.

I have used Gary and Christian on quite a few occasions with my Nissan Titan, from things like the exhaust manifold, to the rack and pinion wearing out, to oil changes, in the winter when I dont want to lay outside. He is honest, has great shop rates and ALWAYS gets whatever I need done, in a timely manner and I can rest assured it was done correctly. Now, unrelated unfortunately a night ago, that Titan was totaled in a rollover when my truck fishtailed and a Hyundai rear ended me and sent me into the ditch and blew the drivers side out. :/ but I know whatever truck I get next, I will use him time and time again. Thanks man!!

I dropped my car off for the day for a valve cover gasket and a serpentine belt replacement. The price was fair and in addition they replaced the spark plugs at no labor cost, and fixed a bunch of superficial bumper/plastic stuff for free without even asking! No more dickin around with zip ties and duck tape to keep random parts from falling off!

HALF THE PRICE of my old favorite auto shop. So the rear differential of my 2006 Toyota Matrix was making a horrible whirring noise. When I took it to my traditional auto shop (who I normally think of as having good deals), they quoted me $1,100 - $2,500. They told me not to drive it until it was fixed (this made me super anxious). Out of desperation, I went to Facebook, and several good friends recommended Fish. Long story short, Fish spent time researching my vehicle, figured out he could replace just A PART of the rear differential with USED parts. This, plus an oil change for $530.26. AMAZING. Fish is AWESOME. He also located a rock stuck in my front wheel well and removed it for FREE. <3

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. My alternator went out on my way to Wasilla on a Friday night. He had cars stacked up to the ceiling and still ordered the part and put it in my truck immediately. The price was 1/2 of what I expected. The cherry on top was that it was going to take a couple hours and he handed me the keys to his car and told me to go get some dinner and come back when it was done! What a superstar. If I lived in Anchorage I wouldn't take my cars anywhere else!
