I ve been going to CPR Automotive for over a decade, and this is the best repair shop I ve ever used. They are honest, competent, and reliable. They have stable and experienced leadership in the shop and at the counter, and Bill the owner is a genuine guy with decades of knowledge and a commitment to service. You will be hard pressed to find many shops out there who care to resolve a negative experience as much as CPR. They push a LOT of vehicles through the shop and are always slammed, because so many of us trust their work. Their accuracy rate in diagnostics and repair is far better than any other shop or dealership I ve used, and I mean well over 95%. If you ve been driving long, I don t have to tell you other shops and dealerships seldom come close to this rate. If and when something doesn t go as expected, you can have a real discussion with an honest person, and even the one who did the work. It will get resolved. What more can you ask for, popcorn in the lobby? Well, they did used to have that. I can make popcorn at home. Thanks, guys.Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

Do not use this automotive shop. We have taken 2 vehicles to them and they failed miserably, and actually broke the vehicles worse:Vehicle 1: They recommended to replace the front control arms and lower ball joint, which they did. I emphasized highly that I wanted the vehicle to be the same height in front as it was before the replacement. This was thoroughly discussed and was assured the repair would be the same height as the current lift. A week later, they called and told me the vehicle was fixed. When I went to pick it up, the front end was ~3 inches lower than previously and obviously sitting lower than the rear end. So not only did they not repair it as they told me they would, they tried to pass off the work as complete when in fact it was not done correctly. When I called them out on it, they assured me that they would "make it right." After another week, and an extra $500 over the original quote, the truck was finally fixed and at the correct height. However, the cruise control has not worked again since the truck was in their shop.Vehicle 2: Taken into CPR for a fluid leak, which they repaired. When I drove the vehicle away, it was obvious the brakes were not working properly. The brakes were working 100% correctly before being taken to their shop. The vehicle was in fact unsafe to drive after their fluid repair, which they only admitted after we asked them to take a test drive of the vehicle with us. They obviously are incompetent, so we took the vehicle to the Chevy dealership which has stated that due to their mixing of fluids during CPR's repair, the entire brake system is shot and needs to be replaced.

CPR Automotive diagnosed my problem quickly, which was engine light had come on. The car died as I pulled into their lot. They fixed it for reasonable cost including replacing some parts. Alex was friendly and professional. This was my first time there, and I felt confident my car was fixed properly. I will go back.Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

I had been told I needed complete front end repairs to my van which would me a couple of thousand to repair. I took it to CPR Automotive and they found that the front tire had broken the belt within the tire. 4 new tires and $1,600 less in repairs and the wobble, pulling and noise is completely gone.Thank you CPR Automotive for you supplied honest, competent and timely service on my 2000 Chevy Astro this week and got me safely back on the road and protected my bank account, too Thank you all, again.

CPR Automotive is definitely the place to go if you want customer-oriented service that is competent, honest, and reliable. I always feel safe and respected in the shop which is not always the case elsewhere, especially as a mid-30s female. The owners/managers have a paternal way about them, which contributes to the comfort in the shop. Most importantly, I know the repairs and services rendered on my vehicle are of a quality that they wouldn't hesitate to replicate on vehicles of their own loved ones. CPR Automotive is great. I ended up marrying the man who referred me to them around 5 years ago when we were just barely friends, so maybe they are a little magical too!

These guys are awesome... Professional, Flexible, and knowledgeable... If you are scared of being cheated come here... I informed them of a bad experience and just talking with Alex he put me at ease... When he ordered a new fuel pump that turned out to be the wrong type instead of blaming that company he just ordered a more expensive one and gave it to me for the same prices. I also felt that the customer service was friendly... not rude, definitely not pushy... I also wasn t treated like an idiot for sure... I would rate these guys six stars if I could. I was recommended to them by several other people in my neighborhood as well. They are also military friendly and gave me a discount on their already fair prices that I would say are the cheapest for a quality job.

The staff are very kind--especially the owner. But I wouldn't recommend going there if you want anything done on time or done correctly.I took a vehicle in for general maintenance, repairs to the steering wheel and window, and a diagnosis on a sound grinding sound coming from the wheel base. They told me 3-4 days to get it done and took 8 days instead. None of the repairs they did were actually done properly, they fixed things that in hindsight didn't even need to be done, and didn't figure out the noise.I took the car back in for them to do it right. They told me 2 days tops to make it right. They ended up taking 5 and still hadn't figured out the noise.Services: Auto power window repair, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

Took my car in for tires and had a small communication breakdown with the shop. They (the owner & shop manager), TRULY went above and beyond, AND out of their way to make it right! They provided exceptional customer service with quick shop time. They have always been a great shop and after the professionalism they showed me I HIGHLY recommend them and I WILL keep coming back. Thank you Bill, Alex and the Crew of CPR Automotive!

I went there first thing in the morning and they didn t even get to my vehicle so picked up my vehicle before they close and they said I was next vehicle up so I said I ll bring it in the next day and be the first vehicle and the guy said yes. So again I came in the next morning first person there and turned my keys in and checked in and waited there 45mins and there technicians come in the desk area and move my invoice to the back and got in there winter exchange vehicles. I didn t even say anything I just grabbed my keys and went elsewhere. What a waist of my time. The front desk guy said yeah where slammed today but I was the first there. Will never go there or recommend anyone going there.

I had an issue with my truck, where I was pretty sure what was wrong. When I called and spoke with Bill, he gave me a reasonable quote on the phone, instead of telling me that it would require a few hours to diagnose the problem. I took my truck in that afternoon, and despite the fact that they were super busy this week, they got it done very quickly and I had the vehicle back the next day. They even followed up with a personal note. Would highly recommend CPR and will definitely visit them again for future repair needs.

Last Spring I bought a Jeep Cherokee. I went to CPR in July (2020) because the check engine light was on and my regular mechanic said they had the ability to read what the issue was- he didn t.I took it in and was told that my car had a catastrophic oil leak and it would be 2-3000 to fix it. I had just had my mechanic go through the car and change the oil. I called him and he said he did not believe it.I asked CPR if this would be why the check engine light was on. They said no, that s something else . I asked how much to fix the check engine light- $157.00. I said fix the check engine light and left.9 months and 8000 miles later, my Jeep is still running perfectly, has been checked out by FATS and Lithia, never uses excess oil-On a positive note, the check engine light is still not back on.

July 2019, CPR automotive ripped me off and messed up my Toyota Sienna 1999. I'm not normally an uptight, "Karen," but I believe this this experience needs to be reshared with the world. They forgot to bolt the bottom plastic piece under my engine when they replaced my front wheel bearings. (They remembered and called me back after I left!!! As I left, I heard scraping under my van.) I didn't get my tires aligned, despite them saying they would do it with my budget, and then they were saying they would charge me separately for it when I came to pick it. OH, and I picked it up much later than when they said it would be ready. Completely unprofessional, I'll never forget this experience, and I am never returning.

CPR Automotive is the neighborhood mechanic for the Airport heights area and I love their service.I have been taking my vehicular there for the past four years. My father recommended I go there as that is where he takes his vehicles. My Grandfather recommended that my father go there because that is where he takes his vehicles.Alex, the one who runs the anchorage shop, is a very kind and patience man.One time, I dropped my car off and was going to call an Uber to work but Alex had one of the mechanics drive me(no extra cost)Just recently, I got my oil changed and saw my tire was flat so he had one of the mechanics pump all four tires full(no cost)This kindness might not be something that he thinks is a big deal, but it s something that deepens my appreciation and loyalty to this place. If you have any questions about your car, they can explain things in a way that s understood.CPR is the best mechanic in anchorage and I ve gone to quite a few sketchy ones.Thank you CPR:)

Each time I have had car troubles CPR has been there for me as a trusted Automotive shop. They give the best quality and customer service i have ever experienced when it comes to my car. The quotes and timeline for when the work will be done has been spot on, and even under price originally quoted! I have already referred my friends and family to them, and i will continue to recommend CPR to anyone you needs a trust worth repair shop! Thanks to Bill and to everyone who makes the experience great everytime

Had an appointment. One week after appointment date, I still hadn't heard from them. I called, they were "just looking at it now". I talked with the mechanic about my power antenna, and abs light being on (a couple of the reasons I brought it in). Then CPR auto shuts down from staff getting the rona (shouldn't have been surprised as staff wasn't wearing masks indoors). So closed 2 weeks for that. A month later I get my car back. I read the report, they couldn't actually read code on abs light, and they couldn't find a abs controller, no one bothered to mention this to me. And my power antenna still is trying to go up and down every time I turn car on and off. And to top it off, my vehicle battery was completely dead when I went I got in my vehicle.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Electrical, Brakes, Oil change

The service station I usually go to told me they could not change the fluid in the front axle as the differential plug was stripped out and they didn't have the facilities to drill and tap it. Two other shops said they could work on it, but were backed up for two months. CPR was able to remove the plug and change the fluid within two hours, for a very reasonable rate.CPR is my new goto place.

Do not come here if you're a women based on experience. I had a Toyota Camry a long time ago when I was 18 and they charged me 500 dollars for a diagnostic I paid and they did nothing my dad was upset about the whole thing and he never brought his cars back. They will charge you way more than they should. My boyfriend called today to get a quote on repairing the wiper on the driver side on my Chevy equinox and they quoted him 350.00 then he called Chevy directly and they quoted him 25.00. Do not come here they steal your money.

Very helpful and friendly! Not only did they squeeze me in last minute but I was also given a quote over the phone (really good deal and with such a friendly lady) . When the car got there they were fast and efficient and once again friendly. Thanks CPR for making life so easy!

I recently moved up from Juneau, AK to Anchorage, AK for school and during the drive up from Juneau my muffler broke twice during the drive. I had less than a week until school started and my car was my only mode of transportation. I contacted CPR Automotive to see if they could fix my muffler and about how long would it take to repair. They got me in the same day I arrived into Anchorage and looked at my car right a way. Within less than 24 hours, they built a new muffler for my car and I got my car back the very next day. My car runs perfectly fine now. Excellent and quick work, friendly and responsive staff, and all at a reasonable cost. If I have any other issues with my car in the future, I am for sure going to go back to CPR Automotive for repairs.

Have used them repeatedly since they are close to my house. I have not had good experiences with them. I could provide many details, but I'm not reviewing to flame them, just state that time after time I've been dissatisfied with the quality of their work, reluctance to fix their own mistakes, and general attitude. Their owner seems to care about providing quality service, and is the reason for a second star.

Alex and the whole team are just amazing to work with! I needed my car for the weekend and they went the extra mile to help me out! They stayed after hours to ensure that I got my car before then! If you re looking for an honest shop, THIS IS THE PLACE!

Within 10 mins of me walking the door I had my piece bent and the price beat everybody else in town not to mention the service. If you looking for good service from good people this is where it's at. I bought a car off craigslist (mistake without buyer's inspection). Took it in here for a post buyer's to find out what it needed (too much, death trap rip off). CPR was great with it. Took my next vehicle in for an engine block heater. Went without problems. Owner Bill seemed great. Today I brought in my second car for an oil change. They found the oil pan's threads were stripped and said it would be $455. He said the oil would all leak out and didn't want to let me go without it, but I didn't have the money to fix it. While waiting, I told him a rear bulb didn't work until I bumped it. Then asked if it was electrical, could it be related to the rear window wiper also not working unless you bumped it. He said no. Then, without telling me, he replaced the WORKING rear bulb and then charged me $31!! Good thing he didn't decide to replace the $475 rear wiper motor!! I didn't have the money for both the $52 oil change and the $3 bulb and $28 labor. I was mad, but he didn't care. I gave him a one star because he said I can come back later to pay the rest of it.

Bill is the most honest mechanic I've dealt with. He is helpful, will talk you out of unnecessary work, and on multiple occasions has not charged me for little incidental fixes. The work he's done on my vehicles is quality work. Bill is the only mechanic I go to now, and I recommend him to my friends and family. Thanks for being someone we can count on Bill.Erik Mallasch

Excellant customer service. I admit, the only thing they did for me was bend up a short piece of exhaust so I could get the "drone" out of my cab. But the man at the counter, Bill I believe, was happy to help me out for less than half the cost that every other shop in town wanted. It was a more than reasonable fee for just a few dollars worth of material and about 5 minutes of labor. The fitment of the part was perfect.

A star for replacing the clutch,-4 stars for ruining my alignment. I brought my car here only because of the high ratings on google, im sure decent mechanics would of told me if i would need a new alignment afterwards or INCLUDED IT IN THE DAMN SERVICE i paid about 1540$ typical clutch repair that took 8 hours of labor. People beware they were clearly witholding information.

Brought my truck in a couple of times. They found the problem fast and fixed it. Was faster than where I usually brought my truck at. Second time I brought it they could not get a hold of me and knew I needed it back asap and they fixed it anyways. Fast and reliable. Good people there.

They charged me $600 for a blinker switch. Then, when I saw they made a serious debt on my driver side door, 3 guys came out and started yelling at me about how that was already there, called me out my name, then went back inside. Straight lowlife behavior.
