I couldn't be more pleased with the service. I brought my vehicle in because it was making a very strange sound - it ended up being a part that would have been outside of my budget at this time. Due to a situation I'm in, I am unable to trade in this vehicle. Kaylie at the front desk and Eric the mechanic were able to put in the time and effort to meet my needs within my budget. I will definitely be providing this company repeat business. Thank you again so much.

I could not be more pleased with the work done on my Mini Cooper this week. The staff at AIR got a few things very right:1. They scheduled me quickly2. They performed the repair on time and exactly on budget with my quote which was in line with my research..3. They were responsive and kind when I called. The above is great work - what follows is excellence...4. When I picked up the vehicle there was a minor issue, this isn't uncommon, Mini Coopers are tiny sewing machines the devil is absolutely in the details when it comes to these cars. - The staff immediately diagnosed the problem and told me it was safe to drive for the weekend so i would not be without the car (this was late on a Friday)5. They then scheduled me on Monday and had the issue fixed at no charge by 12:30 pm on the same day.6. Finally in auditing the transactions to the previous week their staff apparently discovered a charge that wasn't necessary - a charge I'd have never questioned - and called me to refund me the cost.I have a new import shop in Anchorage - if you're looking for one --- Look here.

It was $150 to diagnose our car- coming to pick up the car they said it is $240 since it took longer than expected. I was not informed of that prior to services and am very disappointed my issue is with communication and straightforward pricing as the dealerships pricing was $250 for diagnoses.

Everyone was so nice and they took the time to explain anything I didn t understand and gave me quotes before anything was done. I definitely recommend! I m not sure if I ve ever had such a positive experience with a mechanic before. The girls up front are the best!

Great friendly, knowledgeable service. They were honest with their abilities related to my brand of car. I plan to use them in the future for the services they can provide for my vehicle brand.I received brake work from them.

Very reasonably priced oil change for our German vehicle and honest too about what's going on. Not pushy for us to replace anything. Definitely glad we found this place

I really appreciated them getting my vehicle in and serviced right away! I got an oil change and cabin filter replacement. There was a diesel engine particulate filter issue that they referred me to the dealer for which is much appreciated because I d rather get the referral to take it to AUDI than have someone try to fix the issue but mess the vehicle up even more. Thank you

They took my hybrid and could troubleshoot an issue that Kendal missed twice.Staff are very friendly, very knowledgeable, don't talk down to people, and price is fair. What more could you ask for in a mechanic?I live very far away from them but its worth every trip!

Left my car there for a couple of weeks to get the clutch repaired. The amount of time it took was reasonable to me as they have to take apart a good chunk of the car, however, I went in there for the clutch and came out with a broken grille, the cars sensors going off for the drive train not getting full power, and the engine making a weird noise aswell. All of this would be fine had they actually taken responsibility for it but their excuse was those are different parts of the car from what they were working on. I am pretty sure I left the whole car with them and not just the clutch... Giving two stars cause technically they did fix the clutch and they were nice about their sketchy behavior.

Do not go to this place for your vehicle. I had them switch my tire but someone screwed up and did not connect the tire pressure to the tire system monitor in car. I went back there and was told that they cant help me because no one can do it or may be the tire man had left. I was shaking mad mostly because the woman I spoke to( I believe she s the manager) told me that she cant help and with an attitude. Not even a single sorry for the inconvenience. I went back there in the morning to drop of car again but had someone talk to them for me due to my scheduled meetings. But when I went there to pick up my car, Again, those 2 women there gave me like I was the one who made a mistake attitude. I did not hear a single sorry for the inconvenience. They are so unprofessional. Horrible customer service. I will not ever in life go back there again. I will tell all my friends about them. Sometimes I think that they are being racist. They feel like they are way better than I am.Service: Auto tire replacement

They fixed my car in a reasonable time frame and only charged me what was quoted. Bruce and the rest of the group were great to work with. They even took time to show me the parts they replaced and explained what happened. Highly recommend this place over the VW dealership.

We had a water pump on our 89 Westy on the verge of failure. I called Artic for the , which they had in stock. I also asked if they or anyone they knew could install it. Chris, indicated that they were booked through July, as were all the mechanics they trusted. However, when I went to get the pump, Chris made a call and got me scheduled for the next day. It turns out that the owner of Artic took sympathy on us and did the installation himself. He did a great job and instructed us on what we should expect. The whole team at Artic were extremely pleasant and help save our Alaska road trip. Highly recommend!!

I take my vehicle here for routine maintenance and repairs. Each and every maintenance visit has been timely. When my vehicle needed repaired, they quickly identified what was wrong and fixed it. Exceptional customer service which extends from their management to the front desk to the mechanics. In a world where all kids* get a star for just showing up, this business deserves 5 for competency, efficiency, professionalism, communication, and customer service. Nice work.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!! This place has no idea what they are doing. We brought in our car and they had it for 2 weeks. We paid them thousands of dollars thinking it was fixed, the next day the same problem started happening again. Brought it again, thinking they would fix it for real this time since we already paid for it and nothing for another 2 weeks. I am sure it just sat there! I think they really thought if the car sat there long enough the problem would just go away lol. Please consider this a warning and do not make the same mistake! Take your car anywhere else but Arctic Imports! It's a disgrace that these people do business this way!

This company has worked on our van now for awhile, we had an egr valve and alternator and belt put on. Things have definitely improved. The price was fair. They finished on time. This place seems to stay busy but gets you in fairly quickly.

On a weekday, the wait wasn't long. Guessing advanced tickets would save even more time on the weekends. Lots to see and incredible views when you finally make it to the top.

Clutch failed on car and we brought it to Arctic Import based on previous reviews here and elsewhere. Although the service was not scheduled in advance, they took the job and said they would be in touch. They did get back to us after several days to say they would need to investigate further and they wanted authorization for a few more service hours. We gave it to them and they continued, or at least said they did. A week later they still hadn't done anything else. When I went in to investigate, they said they needed further authorization...to the tune of $1,170 labor plus parts to tear into it some more and probably replace the clutch. And they said it would be another week before they could get to it...maybe. I paid them $380 to cover costs incurred to date and took the car to the local VW dealer. The dealer, of all places, is doing the job for $750 labor plus parts. On 5 separate occasions we were told they would be in touch...they only called once.Arctic import auto service seems to be run more like a hobby (or maybe a day care center) than a business. There is no sense of urgency to get the job done in a timely manner and the front desk staff is tied up as much with their kids behind the counter as their customers. When I asked how long on the last visit, I got a rundown of all the other jobs the mechanic had before he could get to mine. If they are that swamped, they owe it to the customer to let them know up front, not string them along for two weeks on an 8-hour job. As for the dealer doing the job $400 cheaper...who knows. I've always been inclined to use dealer service, but on a 10 year old car though an independent would be a cheaper alternative--guess not.Bottom line, I'm out $380 for nothing but wasting my time and will stick with dealer service in the future.

Super quick service. Very professional, easy explanation of services. Phoned with updated on repairs and when vehicle would be ready. Fair prices and gave me options on what needed repaired. Didnt talk down to me as a woman and didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. Thank you for being upstanding.

Very Dishonest Repair Shop My eighteen-year-old daughter worked throughout the summer to purchase an older Subaru from a retired teacher. The vehicle had been in storage for a few years and only driven a little. There were no leaks and was in good shape for an older very clean used car. There were leaves all over the vehicle from the trees that were nearby the carport where the vehicle sat, except for the few times it was driven by the owners handyman. Unfortunately, the engine light was on when she bought it.I drove the vehicle to Arctic Import Repair on International Road. I told them I was spending my daughter s summer money so I needed an estimate first.About four hours later, I asked how things were going. The counter person went to the back and then came back up front. He explained that the engine had been power washed by the seller, so they had blown out the engine with compressed air and reset the error codes while it idled to dry, but the engine light had come back on. Then he shared he didn't have the sensor in stock because it was a dealer part, but if I brought it back after the weekend they could replace it and see if the light would remain off.I went to Subaru and the service person showed me the sensor, which was located immediately below the cowling and some other things. Below the cowling were spider webs, dried leaves, and dust and dirt. It was clear my knock sensor hadn't been wet or blown out by compressed air. It was clear the story shared by Arctic Repair was fiction.I drove the car to Specialized Auto Import Service about 2 blocks down the road from Arctic Repair. About two hours later, the car was ready to be picked up, repaired, and they had taken the liberty to make a list of maintenance priorities my daughter should budget for. I was pleased, and the repair had cost what I had paid Arctic Repair, less the parts.Arctic Repair, in my experience, are dishonest. I will never trust my vehicle to them again. This is the shop we have all been warned about.

Terrible experience with Arctic Import Repair. I called daily for 3 weeks asking for updates on my car. Each day the person who answered the phone would tell me they were "working on it" or "running tests". After three weeks, a different person answered the phone, and finally gave me an honest answer - that they hadn't even looked at my car yet. When I finally got my car back, other things that worked before I took my car in to them no longer worked, and they refused to fix the additional damage that their "repairs" caused. The owner was incredibly rude to me throughout my experience with their business.

I have taken both of my vehicles to Arctic Imports. Unfortunately, I had to get a new engine and a lot of other (not) fun things that happen to cars. Arctic Imports were great about both of my vehicles. As a woman who does not know her cars very well, they were very patient about explaining what my options were. When I had to replace my engine, the owner spent about half an hour discussing the pros and cons of a new engine, used engine, and even just selling the vehicle. I felt very comfortable with the decision afterwards. They informed me very fairly about prices and what not before, and always did a great job to call me and update me about any problems or issues or work before they went ahead and did it. They always weighed my options.

Have had my car there since 2012 and they kept pulling my grandfather in every direction. Said they have checked everything but then the vacuum lines are stock and known for leaks. The coil pack hasn t been checked in 5 years and the lifespan is only a year. I try to talk to the lady up front and I get attitude for asking if they replaced certain parts. This shop charged over $7,000 to replace things and lie about it. Just letting you guys know a no start or intermittent dying issue is one of the easiest things to fix especially with google and a little common sense. Some professionals you guys have. Multiple shops have said not to go here.

These Guys Are A Scam.I took my VW BUG in for a general inspection and to have my battery and circuit board replaced. They charged me $700 for this and then five days later the circuit board burst into flames. They blamed the wire, lied to the manufacturer and said it was a faulty circuit board (Likely to get more work at a better rate, not to save me money), then charged me $210 to have it towed back to the shop and "repaired" by patching the burnt wire and replacing the now burned parts. They DID NOT want to fix the burnt wire and quoted me $700 to do so.For a break change they quoted me $1400. I took my car to Anchorage Import Service and Repair and they quoted me a little over $400.

I love this place and the people there. I don't understand the negative comments at all. They are all very personable, get to the point, have good sense of humor and take care of things for your vehicle. I've been taking my Mitsubishi Montero there for several years now. I've been to other places and haven't been treated so well or fairly. Not the case with these guys.

I took my 08 Audi A4 in for them to change my timing belt. They said they worked on the 08 A4 many times and it was an easy repair and should only take two weeks. Two weeks had past and they told me it would take another week to fix. They pushed back the completion date on me a week at a time until they finally finished TWO whole months later. I drove my car off the lot and went home. That very same day I tried to run some errands and when I turned on my car gas started to dump profusely out the bottom of my engine. I had to get the car towed back to the shop and they said the didn't seal the fuel injectors properly. Another two weeks pass and they say they were done. I take my car home and find that it is leaking oil terribly now. I take it back once more and they come to tell me that the lied about working on 08 A4s before and that mine was the first one and that is why there is so many problems. They finally finish again three days later and say there is no more oil leaking. I take my car home again and find even more oil still leaking. By now I am done with this terrible shop. I go to Big O's and they tell me that Arctic was reusing gaskets through out the engine and that is why it was leaking oil. Never ever go to this shop, they are liars and unprofessional. Definitely the worse car repair shop in Anchorage.

Do NOT use this shop. Very dishonest people and poor work. I took my VW Passat there for a simple repair. They told me it would be done within a week. I finally got it back a month later and it was obvious that had not even test driven it. Took it back for the same problem and they charged me again for the parts they had charged me for the first time and it still was not fixed (another month later)!! Crooked, rude, and incompetent.

All I can say is took my car in to get fixed for what I thought would be a simple problem ended up paying for some other things which is fine, then took my car home and the problem I brought it in for was still a problem! They just pretended to fix the problem and charge me for it. Please avoid Arctic Imports! Now I am out all this money and still have the same issue with my car. I am still mulling over how to deal with this totally dishonest business! Stop ripping people off!!!!

do not take a car for inspection to these guys. very dishonest. took a 2006 bmw for buyers inspection. they made a list of thousands of dollars worth of repairs. it didnt seem right to me since everything seemed really good on the car. took the same car to the authorized bmw dealership in town and everything was great as i suspected. these guys are crooks. i was told they make cars look worse than they actually are in order to get more business and people to have their cars fixed.
