These guys are a class act!! My employer uses Iron City for Machine Work, Engine Assembly, ect, so I decided to give them a try for my personal performance engine. I felt good about the work that was done but the real story was told when I got things home and began assembling my engine. Every bore, journal and register that these guys had their hands on, the tolerances were "Spot-On"!!The work I wanted performed is not fun, takes time to perform the way that I wanted it and they didn't let it sit around and regret doing it. Instead, they jumped on it and got it done in a more than satisfactory timeframe, were friendly anytime I spoke with them & was just a general great experience. Thank you gentlemen for taking care of me, going the extra mile on accuracy (on the block AND going the extra mile on the rotating assembly balancing!), and I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news, but I plan to bring my stuff to you in the future when I tear it up!!lol I only have one pic from when I first got it home but I'll attach it..--Adam

I ve used these guys for years with previous employers and have always had great success and service with their work. And when I started my own business it was only natural that I continue taking anything that needs machining, head s pressure tested,or new valves installed. Great work and pretty quick turnaround time! Thanks,Allen w/Hartley Auto Service

If you want to pay twice the price and want someone to perform double work, this is your place. Zero ethics or morals. No stars is the best rating for this unethical business.Extremely poor work and experience. ICM does not stand behind its work and will not support customer needs. Owner is dishonest and is not willing to do what is right to resolve problems. This business is more interested in making money than serving customers.Earlier this year, I had a Jeep TJ 4.0 head refinished. After a month without any update, repeated calls had to be placed to create progress. Finally, I was promised that the work would be finished on March 24th and that a worker would "stay late on the Thursday before and finish it up."The head rework did not resolve my problem and the vehicle went into a local, trusted mechanic. The mechanic also had problems with the head and returned the head to Iron City. Iron City refused to admit they did the work, charged another fee for rework, and replaced valve guides upon the 2nd rework of the head. (If the valve guides were worn, why weren't they replaced during the first rework?) They couldn't do the job correctly the first time. After receiving the vehicle from the mechanic, I addressed my problems with ICM management. They chose not to refund the 2nd charge, which I had to pay to the mechanic, and simply refuse to resolve my issue. Iron City simply chooses to not resolve this issue. This was a terrible experience and I strongly advise customers to not chose this shop. They will not stand behind their work, it will cost you more than your initial fee, and you cannot guarantee quality work.

Quick turnaround on some cylinder heads. Engine work takes a little while, but that's probably the same anywhere. As long as the work is good I can wait. Honest people and reasonable prices.

Took a Subaru engine in for them to rebuild, redo the seals, and heads. Brough it in at an original asking price of 800$ and was asked to pay 1500$. Got it back and immediately noticed they painted over where the gaskets were supposed to go on the block. We began rebuilding the engine and for six months kept having oil leakage problems, we believed it was ourselves and continued fixing different issues and looking for fixes until we found a small hole behind the crankshaft where an o ring seal sits, they stuck glue inside of a pin hole and this wouldn t allow for oil to escape into the oil pan and thus it had to find other ways. We fixed the car. Drove it. And now we realize that they didn t seat the piston rings correctly. Never again will I trust someone to build anything but myself.Service: Motor building

These guys are excellent, very professional, & very honest & trustworthy. We ve taken a couple of heads to them, & they gave me a ton of advice, helped me save a lot of $, & have proven themselves to be very honest. I have complete trust in them. They value their reputation over the dollar, it s obvious. I m very grateful to them.

This shop does good work. Shane, the owner, really cares about the quality of work that comes out of his shop. He will work with you on whatever you bring to him. Not the fastest service but they take their time and do things right. Which is how it should be done.

Reworked Honda head was wrapped up in less than 3 days, quality of work was great. Would recommend them to anyone looking for machine work. Its worth the extra trip vs other Birmingham shops.

When it came time to do an engine build on a classic truck of mine, I searched for several months looking for the right place to handle the task at hand. It was a Ford stroker engine with everything internally being aftermarket nesides the 69' block itself. I called and talked with most all the major engine builders in the Birmingham metro area. Shane at Engine Rebuilders was by far the most helpful person I talked to out of all of them. When I took a visit to his shop, that sealed the deal. The process was seamless all the way through and was built On Time! Id highly recommend Engine Rebuilders. The engine is finished and ready to be installed.
