My husband has been staying at the Hampton Inn in Troy Al, for a few months now since he is working in that area. He wanted me to give a Big Thank You to AJ and Joyce for being so nice and having breakfast ready each morning. They went out of their way being so helpful.Rooms: Clean RoomsFood & drinks: Breakfast was good and always ready

Well, when booking this property I wanted to be able to write a good review. Well, that can't happen. The night we checked in, the guy Joseph decided he would just walk in on my family in the room. Tapped and walked right in. I had to immediately cover myself as I was not expecting him to just walk in. Due to my health, my feet swells and at times I can't put on shoes. I was walking down the hall in my socks and some lady that works here demanded to know where I was going in socked feet. Very rude. I had to go buy slippers and my feet still couldn't fit at times. Spoke with the lady at the front desk named Lucy and she was just as rude as could be. I am an elite member and needed a late check out. Gabby said it was fine then I walk to the front desk and she tells me I wasn't allowed a late check out. The housekeeper was literally knocking on my door at 8:50. My family or my crew members that was staying here will not stay here again.

The room was clean, and the hotel, in general, was also. The elevator needs cleaning of floors and walls. The 24-hour coffee/tea bar is a great addition. The meals were great in the morning and the kitchen staff is great!Noteworthy details: Ruby Tuesdays in front of the hotel had terrible service, and the food was ok when we finally got it.

I travel frequently for both business and pleasure and can honestly say I have never been treated by anyone in the hospitality industry as I was treated by your employee, Lucy, during my visit.First, based on the nightly room rate and my past hotel experiences, I would have expected much more than an outdated hotel with trash strewn throughout the parking lot and in the hallways. However, the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable so I chose not to complain as it was a home game weekend and my options were limited. On Saturday morning, after I had stepped into the shower, I realized the pump was broken off from the top of the shampoo bottle (something housekeeping should have noticed). I called down to the front desk and the girl who answered the phone acted aggravated that I was bothering her by letting me know that the people responsible weren t in yet, however, she would see what she could do .After waiting approximately 15 minutes (and sitting in the cold room wrapped in a towel) I called down to the desk again and explained that I was running late to meet my family and friends for breakfast and asked if they could please hurry with the shampoo. Approximately 10 minutes later a girl came to the door with the shampoo. By this time, I was very frustrated because I knew I wouldn t be ready in time to meet my friends and family that I only get to see once a year, which was a big reason for my visit. And without going into too much detail, if you knew the struggle and loss our family has experienced in the past year you would understand why this visit was so important. But that is beside the point. After finally getting a shower, I pulled the hair dryer out only to find that the case was covered in what appeared to be dried blood. Needless to say after waiting approximately 30 minutes for shampoo I was unable to dry my hair because I wasn t about to use the hair dryer. After finally getting dressed (minus the wet hair), I went down to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager. Despite my frustration I tried to explain the problems I had experienced calmly and professionally, however, before I could even complete a sentence Lucy became confrontational and claimed that I was rude to her staff. In disbelief that someone in the hospitality business could act the way she was acting (up until that point I had been very polite to her), I explained that she and her staff are in the hospitality business, and it is their job to handle complaints such as mine (evidently she was never taught that during any of her training). She immediately told me that if I wasn t satisfied with my stay, I could go elsewhere and she would give me a full refund. She further told me not to bother staying at the Courtyard because it was owned by the same company. By the way, I have stayed at the Courtyard Troy before and had a most pleasant experience there, and found the workers to be very friendly. I would stay there again and even recommend it to friends as long as Lucy does not work there, too.Appalled at not only the lack of customer service but also at Lucy s hostile attitude, I went up to the room to gather my things and leave. Lucy s attitude was so out of line that it got the attention of people in the lobby, and when I came back down there was a kind gentleman who had taken it upon himself to let the front desk staff know how inappropriate and unprofessional Lucy s behavior was. I wish I had asked for the man s name, but I was in such a hurry to leave that I didn t think about it until after the fact. I did, however, see him on the field during the halftime presentation to Coach Larry Blakney, so I can only assume he was a former Troy football player.I could continue however Google has a character limit and I believe I have made my point. I also intend to send a letter to management and corporate regarding Lucy s hostile and unprofessional attitude.BTW I have noticed other reviews regarding Lucy s attitude toward guests, I hope the ownership is taking notice and recognizing a trend!

My wife called and made the reservation and told them we have a service dog. After we got back to Indiana, we were charged $75 for our dog! She called and was told they could not take off the charge, that we had to get hold of corporate office. This is not acceptable and is very poor customer service. We will not be staying there again.Noteworthy details: They also charged us for parking!

I booked the room through the Hilton website and was given a total for the stay. When I checked out I found that I was charged an additional amount for a "PARKING RECAPTURE FEE." I thought this type of practice was found only at cheap hotels with unscrupulous owners. Had this fee been part of the price I was quoted, I would still have made the reservation but they won't get me again. I'm very disappointed with Hilton and with this Hampton Inn.

The hotel room had worn carpet, toilet seat wasn t fastened to the toilet, cabinet door falling off, closet door wouldn t close, worn bed linens, and insects crawling on the bathroom room vanity and bedroom furniture. They also charged a parking fee. I didn t have a vehicle because I rode with a colleague. I wouldn t recommend this hotel.Safety: Appeared to be in a safe location with several food establishments within walking distance.

I was disappointed from the time of arrival to departure. Not sure why any of these hotels recommend to use the mobile app to perform a early checkin only to be told that the room selected was not clean and ready.Room temperature, why preset a temperature on the thermostat of a 3rd floor room, 68 degrees to some is still hot, being able to take the temp down to 60 would be a nice feature. Be aware if you stay on the 3rd floor of this hotel, heat rises.Cleanliness of the room, at least wipe down the furniture if visible stains are present. It's really disgusting to see residue on the headboard from the last visit.Tub drains should be cleaned at least once a month or when the drain starts to empty at a slow pace. The pool seemed to be dirty from floating debris and the hallways have an old smell to it.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. It s bad enough that the hotel room bathroom was a safety hazard, but what was worse was the treatment from the management team. The management team lacked customer service skills and grew defensive when they were being made aware of the issues experienced in the hotel room. Instead of being professional, they took each complaint personally because they knew that they are not sufficiently managing the property. Do not stay at this hotel and if still decide to, check the room over when you first walk in. Check it thoroughly.Rooms: The room was spacious. However, there were stains on the bathroom wall and on the ceiling. The bottom of the iron was dirty and not usable. You have to pull the door know up to enter the room. I don t believe the room was cleaned as the Assistant General manager did say they were short staff.Safety: The bathroom in my room was a safety hazard as the towels were used to anchor the shelves that were falling from the wall. The shower faucet was broken, therefore causing the hot water temperature to be hotter than typical because it would not stay in the desired position.Food & drinks: The breakfast was the best part of the experience. The staff managing the breakfast was so professional, polite and kind.

The front desk attendant was miserable and she meant for me to be miserable as well. The elevator was out and she knew it. It s been out for weeks. She refused to move me to a lower floor although I was the first one to check in. She did not even look up and greet me nor thank me or even wish me a nice evening. The front desk employees park in front of pool - creating an issue as guests are trying to check in and check out. And the pool is disgusting with pollen. The tiles along the pool are really cruddy and gross.

The rate to stay was way over priced for the area and condition of the hotel. It needs updates. The corridors smelled bad.Noteworthy details: I wouldn t recommend this Hampton Inn. Usually you can count on Hampton to be nice especially paying 229.00 a night.

Rooms and hotel are VERY dirty. 2 nights into our stay we found MOLD on the side of the bed- bed skirt, wall and carpet. Immediately contacted the front desk, they offered a different type of room (two queen beds instead of the king room we were in). We decided to check out a day earlier than planned due to health concerns. For just over $200 a night this is UNACCEPTABLE. We frequent Hilton hotels through the year (diamond members) and this has to be one of the worst Hilton hotels we ve stayed in.

I prefer the Hampton in Eastchase. This hotel was not bad..the employee at the front desk was professional..the lobby and halls were clean..did not get a chance to see the pool or gym..the bathroom was a bathroom..I hate the bathrooms in some hotels have no switch for a vent..the sink faucet was on the right hand side which was annoying..the shower head did not change spray pattern and the tub had a dip in it..they give you plenty of towels..Eastchase Hampton did not have as many channel options but this hotel had plenty..the a.c. worked fine..the bed sheets were clean..the bed itself was creaky..but comfy..the breakfast was delicious..cheese filled eggs with sausage..red velvet waffles with strawberry topping..I would recommend but some of these hotels are not worth $180 a night..

Wonderful Hampton Inn. Kindest bunch of people working here that I have encountered in a long time. If we are ever back in Troy we will definitely stay here. Rooms clean. Comfy beds. Delicious breakfast.

I only stayed here because of the hot breakfast advertisement. I am a diabetic and I expected a hot breakfast. I even assured my family that I found a hotel with hot breakfast. When I checked in the front desk reiterated that they in deed they had hot breakfast and it's from 6:00 am to 10:00 am which was perfect. I arrived for breakfast around 9:30 am to empty pans being removed and was told by the staff there was no hot breakfast it had ended early. I feel that this information needs to be made during check in or on the website that the manager may decide to end breakfast early due to low census. This policy should change because there were other guest that stated they were disappointed even a pregnant lady I spoke with. It was an inconvenience for me as a diabetic patient since I plan my meals. I felt very sick until I was able to drive somewhere to get a hot meal. I also spoke with the manager Lucy and I started a case number online so far I have not had a response. Highly disappointed.

Promised a certain rate at check-in and then denied it at check-out. Appealed to Hilton corporate, pending resolution. Facility is in poor repair. Room was unclean and the clerk could not even provide me a room key. He had to let me in the room with the master key. Look elsewhere for a nice hotel. Very un-Hilton property like.

Last minute stay. Hotel check in was pleasant and hotel was clean. Empty hand sanitizer station by the elevator. Quiet and pleasant surroundings. The bed was very comfortable. Did not eat complimentary breakfast, but did have coffee and noted a good selection of breakfast items. Pool was filled with leaves and debris, but it is at the end of Fall, but the weather this day was in the high 70s and very warm. Overall, a 4-star rating for this property. Check out was pleasant and the staff greeted with friendliness and wished me a pleasant day. Would recommend staying here for both business and pleasure family travel.

Extremely rude staff. If the front desk person, let s call her Dee were my employee she would have been fired on the spot. Asked for a simple courtesy and was told we don t do favors. When I politely insisted I was accused of, and I quote, terrorizing Dee who obviously did not want to be inconvenienced by doing her job. I asked to speak to the manager I was told she would not be back to work for two days. Contacted corporate and complained over a week ago and have heard nothing even though they said we would hear back from the Troy management. I guess gold membership means nothing.

Zero stars if I could! Bathrooms were nasty. Front desk staff Destiny is unprofessional and lacks hospitality awareness. Assistant Manager Lucile Johnson abusive and unprofessional. They cover up and lie for each other to maintain false narrative. Staff does not adhere to corporate policies. Will be staying at Courtyard next door if ever in this city again.

We had the best ADA compliant room ever. My daughter, who uses a wheelchair to ambulate, was able to access every part of the room. It was clean and the layout was very accessible. The staff were both friendly and helpful. Breakfast had lots of choices with a staff on hand to replenish or help. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The room had an awful smell there was all kinds of balled up hair in the shower drain there was black mold on the vent going out of the shower all kinds of loud noises like it was coming from water pipes late at night. They had a wonderful breakfast so I can say that their towels were hard as a rock and my dog got some kind of itch
