I always book with this location but after tonight s mishap I will certainly not be staying there nor putting my employees here ever again! While my employee was in the lobby the desk clerk told another customer that none of the cards were working, when my employee got to his room he discovered there was no tv, and the microwave doesn t work. So he goes back and explains that and she gives them another room which DIDN T HAVE A TV. So he goes back and explains that she gets an attitude and says they re under renovation and that she don t know what rooms do or don t have what! So we asked for a third room their keys don t work now.. I will never spend another dime with this hotel. I asked for the manager s contact info and was told she couldn t give that information out (which I can understand) but they need to shut down the hotel if they can t treat people like humans!

Very nice front desk clerk who deserves better than working here where it is just plain gross. Rusted lamp. Rusted fridge. Rusted safe. Microwave model number must've been #000001 because it is old as dirt.Someone should hire this sweet desk clerk and give her a better place to work.Am too exhausted from the road or would've canceled and gone somewhere nicer.Again, a polite professional clerk.. working in a gross place. You deserve better!Rooms: Gross. Yuck. Rusty. Newer desk and bed but a gross room overall. They DO have a wonderfully polite clerk. She deserves more than working here. Right next to a smokestack.Safety: I did not feel safe.Walkability: Troy is not the kind of city which beckons me to take a walk.Noteworthy details: Wonderful staff. Bed and linens clean. Rest of the room was disgusting. Put some money into new lamps, safes, refrigerators, microwaves...blech!

The lamps and fridge were rusted. The fridge barely worked. The room smelled musty. The toilet didn t flush. The towels were stained and had hairs on them. The pillows were tiny.I would give it a 0/10 and wished I had not wasted my money on the room.

It was ok but it needs alot of work and I wouldn't recommend staying there due to the rooms having black mold doors don't shut tight there's a gap around it rust on the lamp fridge and wall plugs need replacing and they will talk to u badly if someone makes a complaintWell just one of the front desk ladies will and it's sad she isn't veryprofessional the way she talked to me I'd be honest anyone paying them prices to stay there I wouldn't give them yer money rooms and beds ain't worth the money

If you want cheap, that is what you get. The rooms are typical. Beds are very soft. They have no phone charge ports in the room. They do have mini coffee pots and coffee in the room. They advertise "Continental Breakfast". What they had was coffee, water, and a pkg with 2 muffins. They have a pool. They do have safes in the rooms. The rates were low for a football weekend.Nearby activities: This is fairly close to Troy University. It resides right off the main thorough fair of Troy with fairly easy access and exit.

Only reason I leave 3 stars is because at least the room was clean and the price was affordable. The AC was not working as good as it should have been and the room was hot. The smoke alarm kept going off after a shower assumably because there was no fan in the bathroom to take the heat out which was also miserable. It smelled like maybe the room had been smoked in before even though it was a nonsmoking room - just musty. I will be finding somewhere else next time.

Nice hotel, dated, cheap. Room was clean enough, not new. Mattress was older spring type not foam but comfortable. Rolled in 11pm, got two rooms. Breakfast was just muffins and coffee. Coffee was good. Muffins, not so much. No complaints about what we paid for.Next door Julia's cafe was walking distance and pretty good buffet style breakfast.

Initially, I wanted fill out a review with Choice Hotels directly about my experience, but the web site would not let me fill out a review without a reservation number. After a long and weary road trip, my son and I arrived in Troy, AL on Sat Feb 11, 2023 at around 1230 am. After arriving at the window, a disoriented adult female met us at the glass booth when we walked in. I asked for a room for the night so that we could get some much needed rest. I asked for the availability of a room with 2 fulls or 2 queens just for the night. I advised her I would be paying by credit card- Apple Card (which is recognized as a Mastercard) which has both a magnetic strip and chip. She begins to lecture me on why she could not accept the card in that she was under the impression mistakenly that it was a pre-paid debit card. I explained to her that it was recognized as a Mastercard but chose to offer her an alternative means of payment by credit card. I indicated to her that my son was also a AAA member and attempted to pay again. She indicated to me that she could not offer me a AAA discount, in that it had to be in the same name as the person, myself, paying for the room. Politely, I chose to not seek a room in the establishment and went elsewhere. It was as if, myself and my son were an inconvenience. I have never experience this degree of "lack of care" for a weary traveler ever. I am a Choice Hotels rewards member, but this experience puts a damper on one's optimism for future stays with not only this hotel, but this hotel chain. I do not normally complain in such a public arena, but since Choice Hotels do not let you comment without a reservation # online, I feel compelled to notify other potential travelers.

I'm all for an inexpensive older hotel as long as they are clean and quiet. The first room we were given was already occupied which my husband got to discover when he got to it and the door was propped open and the lights were on. The second room had a broken door handle that didn't engage the latch. My husband just muscled the spindle the handle fell off of and we checked to make sure the interior handle worked. It did and it was after midnight so we just went in. The room was clean enough. The toilet ran constantly. I checked under the lid but couldn't get it to stop. Free white noise I guess. Sometime around 4 in the morning a man was screaming obscenities at who ever was in the room next to ours. That didn't go on for too long but then the neighbor was stomping around and yelling in their room for a while after that. We won't be staying there again.

This location had friendly and helpful staff. The room was of decent quality, though the only bad part was that the carpet was dirty, I do not mean it wasn't vacuumed as it was, the carpets just need to be steam cleaned. The continental breakfast was what you would expect with the addition of a pretty neat waffle making machine setup. The WiFi in this place was fantastic however.. with several kids streaming music and video it didn't even hitch, and that was with the hotel sold out with guests. Overall it was a good experience.

Completely remodeled. Really beautiful room. The sweet Lady at the desk Eben carried my bags up stairs fit me. I had been driving for 14 hours when I arrived. I was so pleasantly surprised, that I took photos. It was 3:30 am and raining like crazy... she came out in the rain to my car and assisted me. I'll never forget her kindnesses. I soaked in the beautiful tub in a shampoo bubble bath. Slipped into that beautiful bed, between silky smooth cotton sheets, choose 1 of the 5 pillows upon which to sleep and fell off to "LaLa"Land. When I awakened, it was to the most pleasant voice saying "good morningThis is your wake up call. Have a good day and thank you for choosing Econo Lodge last night. "Quite a nice experience...and the wonderful budget price was a pure blessing as well.

Cheap motel. Coffee but no coffee maker. (What, was I supposed to make it in the iron?) One cheap office chair, no sitting chair or sofa. Refrigerator door wedged open when we arrived, managed to get it to close to keep drinks cool. Shower build for people 4 ft tall and under. Mattress was slightly better than a blanket on the floor, not by much. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. But... across from Julia's restaurant which we enjoyed for breakfast, which was pretty much non existent at the motel. It's cheap, and you get what you pay for.

Room is extremely clean. We are driving thru and needed a few hours of sleep, i was nervous, but for the price this is extremely budget friendly and I have paid way more for rooms that were filthy. This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is clean, nice beds, and budget friendly! Plus the night shift clerk is VERY friendly, she just called to check on us and see if the room was okay. Thought that was very sweet!

The 3rd worst place I have ever stayed at, avoid at all costs. The jerks installing the new security system were blowing their van horn at 10pm last night. You can hear everything through the walls. Would give zero stars if possible

Definitely not would not give this Econo Lodge a 5 star rating, but not one star worthy either. Ideally it would be a 3 in our book. We reserved in advance to avoid lodging issues and this was not out 1st choice however at the last minute, we had to take our small dog so we cancelled our preferred choice & booked here because their sight said "per friendly". We checked in...1. they do not accept pets but allowed this because we had her with us. 2. There is NOT breakfast included regardless what their website says. 3. Thd toilet seat was broke. 4. The pool was clean & clear & would have been perfect had it been warmer 5. The pillows were tiny (fyi..FYI.. your own) 6. Ironing board but no iron. Said they MIGHT have one in storage but we opted to purchase one to take home 7. My husband killed 2 roaches the morning we left.We opted however to give then a 4 star rating for the following reasons: 1. They were accommodating to our small dog regardless of their policy 2. The staff was EXTREMLY friendly and helpful 3. The grounds were neat & well taken care of 4. The room appeared to have been recently remodeled 5. They DID have coffee available in the office that was fresh and good 6. Although we had upstairs neighbors that decided to blare their music late at night, my husband called the front desk & she went straight up there & and had them turn it down. So, for the midterm part, it wasn't a bad stay. Thank you for ypur hospitality Econo Lodge

Our stay at Econo Lodge was okay. It was nothing special, but we didn't expect it to be since we paid so little. The microwave and refrigerator were ancient but they were there. The refrigerator worked just fine keeping our drinks cold. We didn't use the microwave. The a/c worked just fine for us, and we like it cold! The staff was very friendly. There was a breakfast, but we didn't get up in time to eat it. Overall it was a place to sleep and that was all we needed.

My teenage daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights while she attended an honor band at Troy University. The proximity to the University and everything else was fantastic. The room was what I expected for a no frills budget hotel. The staff was absolutely wonderful, especially Christena at the front desk. The continental breakfast could of been better, but the waffles were good. It was quiet for the most part and we felt safe. I will definitely book this hotel again next year when we return for the next honor band.

Decent hotel. Very friendly staff both at the front desk and housekeeping. Furniture in room could use shampooing as well as carpet. Complimentary toiletries are cheap. Love the microwave and fridge in room. Breakfast was very nice. Would stay again.

We found our stay at your Econo Lodge at Troy, AL a very nice night stay. The check-in was fast and had a nice woman who was helpful. We entered our room and found it very clean and fresh. No faults at all with anything in the room. Wifi worked as hoped. The night was very restful with no noise. The ice machine was right down a bit from the room. The next morning we found the breakfast area to be very delightful with different offerings. We will return on our next time we come by. Thank You!!

Should have know when we had to wait for the 2 drunk black ladies to get off the stairs so we could get to our room that this was not a typical Econo Lodge. Room reeked of pot and the floor was filthy! Poor little receptionist was alone and trying her best to do it all. She was very apologetic and refunded our money. She should be applauded for holding it together like she does! Bless her heart!
