The Best Western Troy, Alabama was a delightful experience. The cleanest motel we have stayed in for years. The staff was actually friendly and engaging. From the desk clerk to the breakfast preparer all staff on hand acted like it really mattered to them for us to have a good stay. The lady in the kitchen who kept breakfast going & supplied had such a pleasant smile & was eager to help provide what we needed. The hallways and rooms actually smelled good which is unusual in this day & time. We will definitely stay at this Best Western again. Thank you BW Troy!Rooms: Clean & smell good & clean. Sheets were definitely changed & were clean.Safety: Well lit parking. Location made us feel secure & comfortable. Interior access to rooms a definite plus for security.Noteworthy details: Clean, clean, clean. Smelled clean. All staff were friendly & helpful. Thumbs up for this group & their motel.

We stopped overnight when passing through. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The pillows, however, were miniature. (2) 1/2 sized pillows per person. I asked for extra pillows and was told they didn't have any. I asked if one could be used from an empty room and was told no. Customer service wasn't good otherwise either. No one at desk on 3 occasions, had to look for, or ring for help.Breakfast was ok, coffee not so good.

Located in the heart of NOTHING. All the other hotels are located in walking distance to food and shopping. This place site along across the expressway. $190 for 1 night. There mush br NO soundproofing the walls. We could hear our neghvors on both sides and they really were noy trying to be loud. Shower was broken and the handled just spun continuously making you guess your desired water temp. The room smelled like a musty locker room. The breakfast was awful!!! We arrived in the eating area at 8:30 am The juice and water dispenser was broken. There were no meats or biscuits. Eggs sitting in a pool of water. 90% of the pastries were gone. No fruit, no oats. This place sucks for the money.Rooms: Smelly and you hear everything. Don't stay here if you want a good night sleepWalkability: None unless you want to walk in the shoulder of a busy and dangerous highwayFood & drinks: Garbage!!!! No choices and was there was tasted old and uncooked.

Hotel was very clean. Staff was welcoming. Our room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I usually stay at Hamptons but it was booked for an event. This compared to most older / remodeled Hampton Inns I ve stayed at. Very quiet safe area.Walkability: Not walkable but close enough to drive quickly to events at Troy U.

We were traveling with 5 of us .. the service was impeccable! Staff were the friendliness and went out of their way to make us comfortable, pulling a roll away in to ensure a good nights sleep! Breakfast was no different.. hot and plenty to choose from. Staff assisted in all our needs and started off our vacation so enjoyable! 10/10 recommended!

Again.. I was not just impressed .. but was actually MOVED by the level of kindness and care that I received during my stay. Long story short I am originally from Troy, but am currently working/ residing in Oklahoma . My two children still live here in Troy.. so THIS VISIT was important and meaningful beyond words .. (it was all about them and their happiness).. and this hotel and its manager ,(Mrs Mitsi )made it all the more comfortable and beautiful. I mean that.. sincerely. Thank you BEST WESTERN Troy.. I highly recommend this establishment and I plan to stay here again when I return Noteworthy details:

I stay there all the time I never had any problems with them but on the 16th I check out get my receipt and a hour later I get a notice from my credit card they we up on my bill because they smelled pot in my room I never done drugs and it makes me mad for them saying that then they couldn't call to let me know and it don't matter what you say or do whatever Mitzy say is the way it is so you're gonna pay extra money because its yiur word against her word I will never stay there again they need to change the way they operate by have having proof to get more money out of the customers

I don't know what I would have done without Mitsy and YoYo!!! My mother has dementia and left our room around 2:30am. I woke up to my mom looking for something and when I asked what she was doing she said she was with the woman who brought her here, I said momma I brought you here, she then went towards the door and I went with her and she was right there was Mitsy.YoYo found my mom and asked her if she was okay and my mom said " I don't know" YoYo asked Mitsy if she knew her and she remembered us from checking in, they asked her who she was with and mom said "Lisa" they found me on the registry and thank God I was the only Lisa and brought her to me.I will ways be grateful!!!! Thank you again!!!

The manager is rude and very disrespectful I don t not understand how someone who was a sleep could be heard in the lobby and when told we know you couldn t hear him still said she did when you lie it makes the whole establishment look like they lie as well and the bleach in the tub wasn t even cleaned out he could smell it when he ran his bath will not come back and will never recommend this establishment to others

Worst experience EVER! Room smelled like smoke. It was also very dirty, the bed felt damp and the shower looked like it had been used. Spent about 30 minutes in the room then left because my kids and I were not comfortable. We went to the Marriot! My kids went right to sleep bc they were comfortable and the experience was much better. In reference to the Worst Western , I Expressed my concerns with the front desk person that night. She said Troy University basketball team had been there a month and were put out for constantly smoking. I contacted the manager, Mitzy, the following day. She is Nasty, disrespectful and rude. She refused to give me corporate or the owner s numbers. To avoid doing so she kept hanging the phone up in my face. She accused me of using the nasty shower when I told her it was already wet. This nasty lady refused to refund me my money back. Which is okay, y all probably need it more than me but I will post my experience on every site possible to deter anyone from going to that s hell hole. Save yourself some trouble and go on down the road to the Marriot.

Terrible experience. Customer service has been horrible. No one answers the phone. Online help was no better. I tried changing the dates two seconds after confirming the reservation only to realize that the dates were different from the ones I put in. I called the 1800 number and the hotel multiple times before getting anyone on the 1800 number (Never did get anyone AT THE HOTEL). Once I got someone they told me they wouldn't switch the dates for the reservation (even though I had just made it not 30 min before hand). I tried speaking to a supervisor only to be hung up on. There has been zero help and I will never use Best Western again. I was going to be slumming it this trip by using them for their cheaper rates. I've been to two and both times their rooms were less than par and often smelled like smoke. I will most definitely be going to a Marriot or Holiday Inn. They have great customer service and would never let this happen.Rooms: All around terrible experience.

Extremely disappointed. Room which we paid over $180.00 was musty smelly, carpet damp, TV didn't work, phone didn't work, bedding felt damp, bathroom floor extremely slippery, towel worn out. Staff came and agreed. Got moved to another room and musty smell was there but not as strong. Bedding was very worn. Phone didn't work here either. The worn bedding slipped off and the mattress was much to be desired. Tub surface was extremely slippery placed towel down so we didn't slip and fall. The breakfast was no good. Lacked many normal item. Containers where hot food were placed were not clean and lacked food. The hot food was not inviting at all. We have stayed at other Best westerns paid much less and never had this experience. I would never recommend this BW ever. I would like to think that this BW would place a refund or provide a rebate of sorts as it was not a recommendable BW.The staff could only work with what they had. Hopefully they will discuss with management what they saw.To rate this BW on scale- zero.Nearby activities: Close

The employees were great, but the rooms were a little questionable at times. As soon as I got in, I took a shower. The shower was extremely slippery and the small piece of vinyl in the bottom didn't help. Not only that, I made the mistake of walking barefoot from the bathroom, and the bottom of my feet were sticky! I was so grossed out, I had to basically take another shower. I get carpets don't get cleaned as they should in hotels and vacuuming may seem like enough but it is, in fact, not enough.

We were very pleased with our stay here. Right off the bat we were greeted by the manager who checked us in. She was extremely nice. Honestly the entire staff we encountered were great. Our room was clean and our bed was fantastic. Breakfast was good. Overall a very nice stay. We will stay here again when we are in town.

We always choose this hotel to stay at overnight coming and going from FL. So like normal, we stayed on the way down and everything was great. Heading back home, check-in with Jo was good. She was super friendly and welcoming! When we arrived to our room, the rooms were absolutely disgusting. We kept finding disturbing problems within BOTH rooms we booked for the night. Which was highly disappointing and disturbing with Best Western claiming they were doing higher cleaning standards. We went to the front desk to tell Jo about the issues we found, and Jo took matters into her own hands. Jo got us fresh toilet paper, insisted on changing our sheets herself, and even got us fresh linen. Without her doing those things, we would have not felt good at all about staying there for the night. Jo fixed our issues, and fixed them with a smile. We will be staying there again in the future due to Jo making us feel completely comfortable about voicing our issues and handling them right then and there. Hopefully she will get a raise because she is the face of the hotel and carries it well.Sadly, we booked with Best Western online going down to Florida, but coming back we booked on hotels.com so they said since we did that we couldn t get a discount although I wish they could ve given us a gift card voucher or something for our troubles.

Staff was amazing, especially Wanda, made sure I got everything I needed including a new microwave when mine didn't work. Housekeeping, not so much. 4 night stay and they never checked to see if I needed any essentials, Wanda did!!! Only 2 complaints: no bread for toast with breakfast and why do hotels have to have the bathroom fan connected to the light!!!

If I could give this property a zero star rating I would. They have a pest infestation and are very nasty and rude to customers when attempting to let them know that this seems to be a common problem if you look through their reviews. We submitted pictures and told them they could have house keeping go up to the room since we didn t even bring our items up to the room we went in to shower prior to an event found multiple pest and decided we would find another property to stay at. When we brought this up to the manager she told us since we are not happy and have already paid for the room that we needed to leave the property and not come back. Please choose another property to spend your money with.

Staff is very nice but it has a lot of character the lobby is the nicest part of the entire place. Walking in the room the first thing we noticed was the smell...very similar to that of a locker room...or a mild swamp. We stayed for about 30 mins and just kept finding more and more surprises before we just packed everything and went to Marriott down the road(10/10 recommended their CLEAN AND SAFE ESTABLISHMENT)100% would never recommend this Best Western or return. The staff is the ONLY decent thing in this hotel.

Very poor experience! While getting checked out there were two men standing over the lady that was checking me out. I find that very weird because I don t want anyone looking at my information in the computer. I don t know the lady name but she had on glasses an the two guys were literally just standing behind her. Other than that the rooms were very clean and the breakfast was awesome!

My family and I stayed at this hotel many years when visiting family in troy and never had any complaint. My recently stay for 3 nights from july 1 thru july 4 2022. It was the worse experience ever. I will not stay here ever again. Thre rooms smelled like mildew which was not pleasant at all. I was only given clean towels at check in. I consistently asked for towels over and over I was told they were in the washer. I never received clean towels my entire stay. I went to Walmart to buy my own personal towels. I had to ask for garbage bags. I was given a large garbage bag and was told there was a dumpster outside to put the trash which I did not do. No one ever came to clean the room. I had to ask for toilet paper. On the day of check out they charged my credit card for another family room. Tried to get it straight. Misty was so rude and nasty putting the fault on my bank. After talking with my bank I was told the hotel put the additional charge at 5am the day of checkout and the error was on their end. I called Misty to get this taking care of. She was very nasty again says there's an alarm going off in the hotel and she would call me back whenever she get a chance. I have yet to recieved a call back.I do not recommend this hotel. My entire family refuse to ever stay at this hotel again. I will be contacting the corporate office and Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. Inhaling mildew and possibly mold is not an healthy environment.

Manger was extremely rude. Couldn't/ wouldn't find our reservation even though we showed her the confirmation email and reservation number. She refused to help, I had to call customer service, of course they found it right away. She never apologized and was even rude to the customer service lady over the phone. The rooms where basic nothing to be excited about. When I wanted to complain I was told that the owner doesn't speak to guest. Don't go here, EVER!!!!!!Update: my issue with you is you were not helpful and provided absolutely no customer service. The delay wasn't a few minutes, it was way longer, largely due to your lack of willingness to help. We had to help ourselves. We never should have had to call customer service, that should have been something you offered to do, since you saw our confirmation email plus our reservation number. It's funny you say it was system issues, the rep found the reservation within a few seconds. You were rude then and rude now. You've taken absolutely no accountability. You've really proved my point! DON'T STAY HERE!!!!

Got in late to the hotel. The person behind the desk was very nice and accommodating. Fast check-in. We got one room with two queen beds. The room was cleaned nicely and overall what you would expect for this kind of establishment. I d definitely stay again if ever need be.
